  1. He was only level 114 for me on solo. He still managed to kill me first time I faced him 'cause I didn't know those 4-5 flashing books around me would go all ASPLODEY and KO me from max health :-w
  2. Ok, I just hit 40 dungeoneering. I'm just wondering though, do I have to do all 20 floors so that next time I reset my prestige will be 20? Or can I just do 15-20 for 20 prestige? I wouldn't have a problem doing all floors, except it seems this "fixed" prestige amount seems to be going DOWN the more lower floors I complete. Or is that because I unlocked new floors by leveling and I need to do those to maintain highest prestige (though only problem there is I have to do, say level 20 again to unlock 21... and get 0 pres for that run...)? I don't know... =/ This crap is too confusing.
  3. Another question about the presige bonus: If say, I reset my game, do I need to raid all of the floors again before I reset again to get the max prestige bonus? For example, I can currently go down to level 15. I've currently done the first 5 floors. If I skip straight to floor 13 and descend down to floor 15, will my prestige bonus after the next reset be 15, or 8? Ie, do I need to do all of the intermediate floors again?
  4. I'm a little bit confused about this "prestige" modifier thing... I'm getting 0 pres when I'm farming the lowest level I possibly can. Ok, so the logical thing to do would start about 5 floor prior and work back to the lowest level for better exp. Only I get 0 pres 5 floors back, too  What the hell?
  5. After some time of doing both solo and team I've found something rather interesting: leveling is actually faster solo (at least at lower levels). More people means more powerful boss which generally leads to more deaths, which in turn leads to less exp than you would usually get solo anyway. More powerful bosses when you have crappy gear is a very bad thing even with 5 people, because most of those people are probably going to be scantily clad anyway. With one person you feel less rushed thus you can focus a bit more on mining and smithing up some decent armor. Methinks they should REALLY let you bind more gear. Maybe like 2 at level 1 and 4 at level 50 and etc.
  6. Yeah 138 isn't actually so great if you consider bandos and other gear actually makes us level 200-300ish. Seriously, they should allow us to take our own gear. Let the other garbage be for the people who need it. Or of course for higher levels when we actually get tier 9-11 stuff.
  7. All I gotta say is... I HATE GLUTTONOUS BEHEMOTHS. At least on teams. Two piles of food, and if one person dies, boss heals to max hp. Seriously, three people left, in the 120 range, we all go through a gruelingly long dungeon, only to be greeted by a level 411 incarnation of this fatass. Impossible. Good thing I got exp anyway when I bailed.
  8. Wow, didn't expect the new skill this early. By the way, anyone else like how the dungeon armor looks better than a lot of the regular armor, and yet it is all dungeon exclusive? Also, there are tons of resources that are exclusive to this dungeon. It seems a bit pointless if you ask me. And the new weapons and shields need to be charged for 2 million gp. Good GOD, what is it with Jagex and making all of this new stuff degradable / rechargeable lately? How about just give us some actual gear instead of making it a bait to lure us back to this place? I think this skill will be a complete failure unless they release more dungeons besides this one. It's more like a minigame at the moment.
  9. Beat the game. I would do the endgame content, but then again I don't really feel like farming adamantai over and over and over. I would just hack my gamesave, except I bought the PS3 version because my 360 RROD'ed. :x ... and yeah, apparently the saves for the PS3 are encrypted. And the root key is under 8 layers of security similar to what the US military uses. REALLY Sony? How ridiculous. It's a game. Way to ruin my fun. Again, no thanks to the total grindfest of doing it legit. Oh yeah, and I also found out the best CP training spot in the game can't be accessed after you beat the game. NICE ONE. Back to the Behemoth + wolf thingy spot? You know, or... not... I think this will be the first FF game I decide not to complete entirely. Probably because I'm not all that impressed by the storyline / gameplay to begin with. It feels like they spent all of their time on the graphics like EVERYONE ELSE these days are doing.
  10. All excellent ideas. This might actually give me reason to train construction provided some of the "useful" updates are 80+ Another one I'd rather like is to have 3 floors. I mean I'd like to build myself a proper Castlevania, but 2 floors is kinda wimpy. Also imagine how epic it would be with 3 floors and bridges between rooms at that height.
  11. Like I said in another thread my dad got sucked in by the "b00biez" and I thinkt it's hilarious. Indeed, come for the boobs, stay for the promise of boobs, leave when you realize the boobs are a LIE. Of course this is nothing new, Evony is just the most blatant example. Most games that engage in this form of advertising at least feature their female mascots in revealing looking ARMOR, Evony ads are just women in bikinis now basically.
  12. The advertisement is pretty OK, but the fact that they say "Play free" and show Member content is just plain stupid. Exactly, if they want to show a boss, it should be Elvarg since he is basically the "endgame" quest for f2p. He's cooler than the CB anyway.
  13. Evony is by far the worst example of baiting pubescent males with b00biez in advertisements that I have ever seen. Glad they didn't win... tbh I want to read the criticism the guy wrote about them but the link isn't working for me.
  14. Phew. Glad that's cleared up. And to Chris yes it is silly indeed, but not entirely inconceivable that a company could kid themselves into thinking they could create a totally secure method of storing this information client side. I'm glad Jagex isn't one of those companies.
  15. And if Jagex's Official RWT gave items rather then GP we would see massive deflation potentially on a larger scale then the one we say in the first half of 2008 when the goldfarmers sold off ALL their items. No one wants inflation on the scale that he had durring last summer, but I certainly don't want hyper deflation either. And I think you're massively overestimating the deflation that would occur due to something like this.
  16. That would make sense, actually. But just in the interest of testing it, I deleted all of my cookies and deleted the Jagex cache and the client still found the account. Is there another kind of cookie I don't know about? I'll admit I'm not entirely knowledgeable on the subject.
  17. It can be transferred to f2p. Which is why I'm concerned - the demo account is stored on your computer. It is at least possible that one could reverse-engineer the file with the intention of modifying it without corrupting it, and being conservative enough with the modifications so as not to raise any red flags. Once the process for modifying the file is found, it would be relatively simple to create a trainer program for it and release it to the public.
  18. Hmm OK, according to the thing the account itself for the demo is stored on your computer. I sure hope they thought to put in safeguards against people modifying their demo account and registering it... like not just putting some kind of checksum in the file itself, any reverse-engineer with half a brain knows how to modify a checksum.
  19. Great idea IMO. Of course the idealists will scream that Jagex is no longer living up to the ideal of people not being able to buy their way to the top, and in a perfect world that would be possible. Unfortunately to achieve even remotely close to that we have had to make some pretty huge sacrifices, one of those being a free market, and the full loot PvP system. That is what happens when you chase ideals in the real world. Here's one scenario for you: Jagex implements this, opens up free trade, gives us back the full loot PvP system, BUT they still make alternative methods of RWT against the rules. So, who do you think the little bratty kids are going to buy gold from? Jagex, which would be perfectly legal, or from Chinese gold sites, who of course sell it for cheaper, but they run the risk of their accounts being banned? Jagex of course. Brats like that don't care how much money their parents are spending, all they care about is getting their precious in game pixels.
  20. If I had it my way, they'd re-release all the non-tradeable holiday items every easter / halloween / christmas like they do with the emotes. I don't give a damn that someone is mad because they can't show off anymore. So you've been playing this game for x number of years (or more accurately, been playing x number of years and showed up to the event; I don't have bunny ears purely because I didn't know about the holiday events back then). Go you. It's a game, who cares.
  21. Totally forgot Easter was coming up so I was a bit disgusted to see this on the front page after hoping and praying for a decent quest. Instead I get more imps, terrible Aussie accents, and puns. Lovely. OH WELL only another 7-8 days I guess. Unless they decide to take next week off, too.
  22. Grats, 9/10. Tbh thought this was going to be 99 con when I clicked the link.
  23. Ah, thanks for that. Good to know. Now all of the sudden I don't feel so compelled to gather these rocks. Though the mod is slightly wrong about one thing: the exp reward itself does kinda make people specifically hunt the rocks because you can't get anymore bonus exp from rocks in any one particular skill until you've done the other skills. It is however debatable weather the small amount of exp is worth perusing if you've already maxed more than a few skills in that lineup.
  24. I assume by "die" you mean in a dangerous area, unintentionally, leaving behind items of value in your gravestone, and frantically running back to collect them. So... very rarely actually. I almost always plan carefully for any venture, so just about the only times I ever die is because of lost connection or lag. Like the time I lost my void at TDs because my power went out and didn't come back on for hours... :x I don't know what's worse, being without internet for several hours, or the several hours spent at PC to get my void back.
  25. I thought your typical blog entry was little more than a forum post on a dedicated thread anyway =/ These aren't BTS's people. Though honestly I wouldn't mind if they actually revealed some of the future content to us. I mean they say they don't want to hype the new skill, but you don't have to tell anyone WHAT the skill is to hype it. They're saying the skill will be totally original and awesome, and when it comes out, if it isn't like that people are going to moan just as much as they did with summoning. What they really need to do is to be straightforward with people about what state the skill will be in after the release instead of being so damned enthusiastic about it. I mean it should be obvious that a new skill will have issues to work out after release based on feedback, but for some people I guess you have to spell that out. In any case you can never eliminate all whining, because you really can't please everyone.
