LOL I gave up on 99 parties a long time ago. Pretty much nobody comes to those unless you're popular or they're your friend (which I don't have many of because I'm a bit of a lone wolf =P). Didn't have one for RC, prayer, range, mage, and not for this one either. Just going to get it the same as all the other levels.

Well for one thing a lot of seconds for summoning are easy to DIY like yak hides. Also shards are a constant obviosly. But even if theroretically the price increased by the same factor as the multiplier, IMO it would still be worth it cause you save a lot of time from gathering charms.

I plan to get 99 summoning from 93. According to the spreadsheet I prepared, I needed 380 blues, 4350 crimsons, and 1200 greens. Been grinding on wfiends and I finally have what I need. Been doing some slayer too so I have about 300 extra crimsons and 50 extra blues. As for seconds, for one I kept all water tallies from fiends. Been buying yak hides everyday, and also some of the iron plates. Most of those are from GE but I also smithed some. I bought a SoL with enough lizards to get me up to 95 after Ive used my blues and nail beast charms. Finally, I also did manage to get enough uni horns off GE to cover my greens. So basically at this point I'm prepared. After 99 summon probably heading straight for the agility course, or maybe I'll do herb if I think I can get the stuff for a decent (though still exhorbant..) gp/exp.

Because Jagex are British. Just like my blasted stupid government too..... It'd be way too simple to do something like that....... So they make everything complex, over dramatise it, and annoy alot of americans whilst at it...... So it's not all bad ;) (BTW I can't wait to move out of this country for a while, going to go to america for a bit after uni ^^) Because rounding down makes everything complex and overdramatic???? The reason for the rounding down (as I see it) is so that it is actually possible to hit 0's. Think about it: if a man hits you for 0.1 and you always round up, then you would have been hit for 1 hp. But if a man hits you for 0.0000001 and you always round up, then you still would have got hit for one. So every stike would be a guaranteed hit. You could never tank. Ever. If you only rounded up when the hit was .5 or higher, then you'd still take a considerable amount more damage (about an extra 1 damage 50% of the time) which would make low level training on anything other than chickens virtually impossible. It's worth noting that they still round down, even under the new system. If I were to hit a 147 now I could actually be doing all the way up to 147.9 damage and it would still count as 147. If all zeroes were simply from very low decimal hits, then what is attack and defence for? Most zeroes are from missing, not from hitting 0.00001. And I'm not really sure that more than one decimal was even calculated. Even if it is, it dosen't matter because with three digits every strength level increases your max hit already so four would just be redundant.

Bonus XP Weekend: Calculating Your Average XP Multiplier Per Hour
Peronix replied to ycy's topic in General Discussion
Huh? That's not what Mod Fnord said. -
I have a pretty pressing question that I've been wondering since news of this was released, I'm not sure if it's been answered in the ~7k posts on the RSOF so if anyone knows a Jmod post on this issue It'd be appreciated: Do they plan to reduce the rate of random events by the same factor as the exp is scaled up? Seeing that one vid of the guy turning in 1k summer squirk juices has me concerned because he got a random like every friggin inventory of squirks he turned in, which is like every damned minute. If we're getting nearly triple experience then it would stand to reason that would translate to triple the random events which would probably hurt how many pouches I can make per hour quite considerably.

Last I remember it was only the bearded guards near the ladder that you couldn't walk through.

You should have zero chance of dying (if you have over 70 HP) if you wear ring of life as their max hit is less than 10% of your HP. The thing that really complicates bandits though is that there's just SO many people there, and a lot of little jerks that will crash you.
-
Maybe just a bit of bad luck. I've been killing them there for a while now and 6 pizzas have sufficed, and that's with super pots and a wolptinger. Only had to leave once in 4k crimsons. Idk if it keeps happening maybe bring uni for first 15 minutes? Really that should be overkill at your levels.
-
Yeah that's actually what I've been doing for the past 4k crimsons (CT wfiends). Just felt like doing a little rock lobs at the end. Cause now I have enough charms for 99 (or I should - and I defiantly will sicne I'm spending the week on slayer collecting the charms obviously).
-
Thanks a bunch. Though this whole hour has turned out to be fruitless anyway. Pretty much every world is taken... hell there were 4 people at w66 when i wanted to get in. Should have known lol ;) I'd say I'll save that bit of info for later but yeah... if my math is right I need only 200 more crimsons for 99 on exp weekend. :-P
-
Yeah I wanna try barraging lobs with my SoL, but I've been hopping between 10-20 worlds and when I finally find someone they ignore me. They just say "lol". Yeah not really surprising since people in general are getting to be bigger and bigger [bleep]s every day but... ...anyway, are there any dedicated worlds for this kind of thing?
-
Staff of light is also tanking hard. I bought a SoL + 700 swamp lizards for pure cash. Prolly not the best deal, but I've been waiting to get a SoL FOREVER so if I can get the exact amount of seconds I need, superior to granite, to get me to 95 summoning, in ADDITION to the SoL, I'm happy. Besides, not like I paid 30m for one like some people :P
-
Ah, I see. Stupid me for not getting that :wall: I can see how that might be a bit misleading.
-
Here's mine: Pain to get as they have barely over 1000 HP.

Well according to the formula given, the initial multiplier is 2.88. Not sure why they said approximately 2.7, maybe that was the average over the first hour (which IS actually 2.71). Found it odd too. But it starts at 2,7 on their graph too... It would be safer to assumme it starts at 2.7, IMO. EDIT: I fail at remembering a graph! I apperently starts at 2,8, yo're right. I still think it would be safer to assume 2,7. Well, I can't make any calculation on anything but with the formula they provided. So I guess I'll just have to trust its accuracy.

I'll say it again, no, zeros didn't always mean that you missed. Sometimes your hit would fall between 0 and 1, and thus round down to zero. Thus why sometimes magic hit zero when it didn't splash, and why sometimes I would weaken tormented demons when my darklight hit a zero. In the case of noobs, whose max hit is a 1 (or more accurately a 1.4), a LOT of their hits would fall between 0 and 1, which means about a 64% chance of hitting zero on a HIT, and that's not even including the MISSES. Obviously for higher level players whose range of damage is higher, it won't decrease your zeroes by a whole lot, because the majority of the zeroes will come from simply missing. But rounded zeroes DID still happen, of course, since I still hit the occasional 1-9 hit even with the new system.
-
What do you mean? You don't like the fact that it is only once a week, or is there some sort of glitch that won't allow you to do it again?

Meh, I got 265 crimsons within the 40 minutes at chaos tunnels waterfiends, and that's without overloads or iron titan =/ Did just get a SoL though, may try barraging lobs if I can get some runes. -
Probably just some of them were overlooked. My wolpertinger actually lasted LONGER immediately following the update. Usually I burn through 3 pouches in one trip due to wolper getting killed, after update my second one was still alive at the end of my supplies, and I managed 185 crimsons, which is way more than I usually get (around 170 usually).

some of us may like originality, some of us don't. clearly, you like games that are not original and (like you said) RPGs with high numbers like we have today. but i happen to like originality since I personally think that Runescape should of stayed the way it was and not have those uber high digit numbers like most RPGs. What happens when we have two parties that are not agreeing with each other? A debate. Debates should be encouraged, not discouraged like this thread. I was posting my opinion on behalf of the debate but most of you guys failed to play your parts and instead, bluntly flame at me. Don't put words in my mouth you daft [rooster]. I never said I didn't like GAMES that weren't original, merely that some ELEMENTS of certain games, while unoriginal, may in fact be beneficial. I feel that this update qualifies as one of those things. If you want to get real technical I could say Runescape has never been original because of all of the pop culture references that appear in it. Oh boy because I've NEVER seen another game do THAT before. Well no actually, I don't have that attitude, because I actually appreciate the occasional reference. And dude, if you wanna quit over such a silly thing then fine, quit. But the update is not BAD just because it's DIFFERENT. If you want to have a serious debate, you need to present arguments that aren't purely emotional.
-
I honestly cannot fathom why so many people are so worked up about this update. It is merely a visual change to the game, and whatever mechanics changed are only for the better. If you are so attached to the way this game has looked in every trivial detail, frankly you have problems. I love the update BECAUSE it makes it look more like some of my favorite RPGs. I don't make a mutually exclusive distinction between the two. RuneScape will always have many elements unique to itself, but there are some things about it that are common to most RPGs, and indeed, there will be new things added that may be considered... "unoriginal". Though one must realize, unoriginal does NOT necessarily mean it's not beneficial. So far all I have seen from the opposition are purely emotional, nostalgic non-arguments. Please, give one real reason why this update is bad, and I'll gladly consider it.

There is actually an "armor" that increases your constitution, although only temporarily: the constitution (HP) cape. When you use the bonus and go up to 100 constitution, your maximum hitpoints are now 1000 for the duration of the temporary increase. You regenerate upwards toward this new max, and you are also able to use normal food to heal to 1000 hitpoints. So if a new armor added, say, a permenant +5 to constitution (as long as it is equipped), your new max would be 1040 HP, and you would be able to heal up to that new maximum (although on equipping it you would be 990/1040 HP; it wouldn't heal you).
