So, penguins are better exp? Or are just an alternative? Cause I'm looking for the fastest method. And, some level 97 hunter just plopped down his traps right in the middle of mine. Not 15 minutes after I spent 5 minutes hopping to find a world with only one other hunter. This has been happening very frequently. I'm going to take a guess that it's because most of these hunters are pures, hence their PKer names.

Right. I need 80 hunter to start hunting butterflies barehanded so that I can train some hunter and agility at the same time, and I'm really, REALLY tired of trying to find a relatively uncrowded world at chins, but then I don't want to sacrifice xp/hr. I heard that red sallys were better, are they? I tried blacks once, but it entails a huge ammount of running around and the atmosphere is just generally dreary (<- same reason I abandoned goblin agility course after one level). And they didn't seem to be any better xp.

170 Hours + 23k Chickens
Peronix replied to Perry's topic in Achievements (Drops, Bank Pictures and Levels)
There's soul wars also, and that wouldn't get you HP exp. Though they may have fixed it, but last I heard you can keep your activity bar up just by suiciding a bunch of times. That said, congrats on killing all those chickens. I have a similar account, but I only got her to level 41 def before I just stopped. Too boring. -
...of exp. Been a long time coming. Currently going for 99 agility.

Probably because of the title of this thread, "Mysterious Earthquake". I wasn't there when it happened so I assumed there was some kind of rumbling going on as well. There was an earthquake at the end of Temple of Sennisten, so I immediately thought of Zaros.
-
Is that what happened? Possibly a connection with Zemouregal then? (red mist from the zombies)

I heard there was some new rock formation at 37 wild. Didn't see anything until that lead me to the chaos temple. There's a rock formation there that looks like a cave entrance but you can't enter it or examine it. Can't say for sure weather it's new or not.

The horn lasts longer the higher the level in agility you have. As for if it's efficient, well it becomes much more efficient at higher levels, but I think even at your level it would at the very least break even as far as time spent at BA vs time could have been spent training. So if you enjoy BA more than mindless agility training, yes.

Agreed. And just as an aside, I think the RS combat system is a lot more "realistic" (if you can call any combat system truly realistic). In WoW you rarely ever miss unless you're like, really, really lower level than your opponent. In RS you miss a lot. Which is a bit more realistic, because in swordfights you aren't damaging your opponent with every swing of your sword unless you're a lot better than them. And even then they may still manage to block some of it. Sure it can be a bit frustrating when you 0-0-0-0-0-0 etc, but it evens out. To the OP, I agree with the originator of this particular quote chain; I wouldn't quit RS for WoW entirely based on the community. If you don't find the game fun, fine. That's different. But out of all the games I've ever played the people didn't ever really change, with only one exception, "A Tale in the Desert" which had mostly mature players. But there was a reason for that. There is no combat in that game, and it can be very mind numbingly boring. Thus why it attracted a more mature crowd. I imagine if it ever adopted some kind of combat system the floodgates would open to a myriad of immature players just like you find in both RS, WoW, etc.

This. Seriously, do we really need an item to have full control of our cameras? In other MMOs you already have that ability inherently. If this orb will float around and let us scout ahead though, this might actually be useful for other things besides vid making.

Okay, I crunched the numbers and actually, oddly enough, gnome is a bit better than ape atoll, assuming you fail about half the time. Ape atoll: 3600 seconds / 40 = 90 runs an hour * 580 exp = 52,200 exp per hour. Gnome: 3600 seconds / 47.5 (average of 40 and 55) = 75.8 runs an hour * 725 exp = 54,947 exp per hour. Though of course I'm not entirely sure if your 40 seconds a run is accurate but I'll trust it. And since I just hit 82 there anyway my fail rate will probably be a bit less than half anyway. Btw, what is the no fail level for gnome, 89? Is it worth it then to pie up to that level every run so I never fail?

19-Jan-2010 - Barbarian Assault Improvements

Good luck getting the prayer drain down to below 3 a minute, especially since you have to be wearing helm, torso, legs, boots, and gloves. Actually I don't think 3 draining a minute from pro melee would even be possible with max prayer bonus. If you want almost total AFK training, leave your dude in bandit camp with full guthans, zammy cape, and RoL just in case. Or, better still, you could just use the zombie monkey method which requires you to check back on your char like once every few minutes. Probably less now with SW cape. -
19-Jan-2010 - Agility Benefits for Fishing, Hunter and Thieving
Peronix replied to CBC's topic in General Discussion
This update I like. I was considering getting 99 agility anyway, more reason to defiantly doesn't hurt. Though I'm a little disappointed that the butterflies start at 80 hunter. Going to be a pain getting that up to 80. Hopefully then I won't have much competition like you obviously have at red chins. -

Uh wow. So they nerf the torso. Add a trident that looks pretty useless (master wand + mage book >>> that thing lol). And they upgrade the defense on the penance armor even though there is already armor much better than that. And they make a full penance armor restore prayer slightly faster than HP. Sorry but sounds really, really useless. How about wear prossy in places where you need to conserve prayer? Only thing that looks remotely interesting is the agility thing. *yawn* -

Oh yay, three new skills to double exp in. And yet still no herblore, despite the fact that that skill is in direst need of alternate training methods. Fail. -
I just got 80 agility today, and I've already spent quite a bit of time at the advanced gnome course using summer pies. I've gotten to 81 agility using this course and earned agility legs for it. My question is: Is it really worth doing at my level? I fail the wall run nearly, if not more than half the time, which as I've discovered after timing it, adds a whopping 10-15 seconds to the run (~40 seconds vs ~55). IDK, I never bothered to time my ape atoll runs, but I'm almost certain they're much shorter than 55 seconds. So is it really worth an extra 145 exp per run to do the adv gnome course at this point? Also, at what level should I start doing the adv barb course (using pies of course)? I was thinking 87 but I'm not really sure.

Peronix replied to RSBDavid's topic in General Discussion
Meh not even a cryptic hint at what the new skill will be, and plus most of them talked about nearly the same kind of thing in their highlights. Btw, while I'm talking about the new skill, anyone else think like I do that it will be MP? They said it will be F2P and it will change how we play the game. IDK just a guess. -
Welcome to RuneScape.

Yeah it seems like an enormous exxageration... The avatar was the last "puzzle" I finished off, then I went straight into the throne room completely unprepared, wearing the same gear and inv I used to kill the avatar. I got owned in 6 seconds. Seriously? Avatar harder than nomad? Maybe more time consuming but harder? LOL. I have maxxed melees and I finished off nomad with zero sharks and zero brews left with 50 HP. Yeah I don't have overloads, spirit shields, or pack yak but you know what? I'm glad of that. It allowed me to get a taste of how hard he actually is for the average quester, instead of leaving me with a smug attitude like all those who did it with such privileged gear. Looking at your stats, you probably had Extremes and Turmoil, correct? Not exactly the average quester. 77 herb? No extremes. Turmoil, yes. But I ranged, so that wouldn't have done much lol. And I was an idiiot and used deflect instead of soul split. And btw, that's why I said a taste of how hard it was for the average quester. Being maxed and still burning through all that food; obviously it's going to be a lot tougher on other people.

That's the first thing I thought to use. It dosen't work :-(

Whether he tells you to go kill him or tells you to find out what is going on, I think the point is that this quest has no storyline. She's right -- it's not a real quest. Frankly, you could say the same thing about nearly half of the other "quests".

Um... the imp doesn't tell us to defeat him. He tells us to find out what the hell is going on. After you defeat him the imp is shocked and horrified that you killed him. And... QFT
