pf, this entire thread is about whether or not Jagex is in dire need of a new high level update. All your examples are things that are already in the game keeping people interested, and interest hasn't begun to wane just because dragon kiteshields aren't out.

1) Your argument that most members are 70+, even if true, still means that their combat stats are probably all in the 60's, and far away from your superweapon/uberstuff/whatever requirements 2) It's spelled h-y-p-o-c-r-i-t-i-c-a-l 3) Where am I making an arbitrary judgement? 4) Your max quest point argument is junk because it assumes that people don't get max qp because they hate the quests. You claim that the quests are boring and low level, and yet use YOUR opinion of the quests to decide whether or not you like them, despite the fact that many people probably enjoyed them one they got around to doing them 5) You claiming that new updates don't attract players is false for a few reasons- a) You don't explain why exactly this super-update would increase memberships B) Construction and slayer are skills that EVERYONE can use, thus negating them for our arguments c) Runescape is still increasing in size despite the lack of a super update in a while, which must mean that Jagex is doing something right d) Gertrudes cat introduced a buzz about being able to have your own pet 6) You still haven't explained how Jagex is experiencing problems due to lack of a super update, except for a few people grumbling, which is inevitable no matter what they do.

This is why high leveled items aren't and never will be a jagex priority: The goal of jagex, as with any company, is to make so much money they start wiping their wagons with hundred-pound bills. To do so, they need to continue to attract NEW players to Runescape, which means they need to be constantly coming out with updates that almost everyone can utilize. High-leveled players are still a VAST minority in Runescape- the majority of players are a much lower level. So what do they really have to gain from putting out a superweapon? 3 less elite players quitting? Or can they put out a lower leveled update and attract 6 new memberships? And frankly, the number of people that QUIT due to a lack of uber-stuff you can probably count on your hands and toes. So quit complaining, and if they do come out with something elite, well, that's just gravy. Oh, and Chubb_Master's arbitrary judgement on whether or not lower leveled players have enough is just that- arbitrary.

I always though of it as iron requiring 2 heaps of coal to heat up enough to melt and form steel, and higher ores requiring more coal because they have a higher melting temp.

That "rubbish" can keep you alive- I found someone's death pile in ogre enclave with a robin and ranger boots- if he was still at his computer while he died (reading tipit forums or something) I bet he had his sound off. It's pretty good if you can hear when you're getting killed.

I'd guess that defenders counted as a rare, meaning that a ROW probably helps with getting drops. With the row I managed 2 rune defenders in about 600 tokens. Edit: just got another one, make that 3 defenders.

I think that many of you are missing the point on this debate that turned into whether or not RS2 ruined skilling.... This debate is the same debate that occurred when Halo 2 came out, when the Halo 1 vets were complaining about H2 taking much less skill, being swarmed by noobs, etc. What you all need to understand is that Jagex is a company that produces Runescape to make money. For them to continue attracting memberships, Runescape has to appeal to the maximum number of people. Yes, it's true that skilling is now much much easier. Yes, it's true that your achievements in RSC are much greater than they are now (I signed up for runescape still had a pk-no pk option when you created your character). But Jagex is here to focus on one thing: Jagex. Yes, they do an good job of offering fun and exciting updates, and they do occasionally listen to good suggestions and complaints. But to continue to make lots and lots of money, they need to appeal to the majority. And that means things like easier to level skills, more opportunities to make money, etc. Yes, I understand that some of you are masochists that enjoy pain (clicking PER mining attempt, and the rocks don't even change color for you to know when the ore is in the rock). But the game is designed to appeal to many, not just the veterans.

You are all forgetting the other part of the curve, demand. More people joining RS means an increase in demand, making sure that drop items like gold and black mystic always are more expensive than blue, which is available in infinite quantities in stores.

Each glory is 4 charges...so however many runs you feel you need for it to be convenient. I usually do runs with 20 charged glories, otherwise constantly charging them is annoying. And the dueling ring, sworddude, still requires a charged glory to get you back to edgeville anyways. It's just a way to lose less money if you get pked.

Yes, you are correct in pointing out the blatantly obvious fact that people are the cause of environmental problems, and Steve's work in raising awareness and money for ecological efforts is simply amazing. To actually answer your question, your click problem is probably only lag. The hit every few seconds is designed to force you to eat bananas/peaches to keep yourself alive. The trick is to just bring your own food (about 12 of them) and use them to heal yourself.

I get faster exp from tuna and swordfish via method of harpoon. And I also get great gp to pay for my fishing trips... :notalk: That's because you're f2p If you fly fish at shilo and bank and fish and bank and fish, your fishing exp will increase exponentially faster than lob or tuna fishing. As for cooking, do that in the rouge's den. And even though they don't sell for anything, the insanely fast exp makes up for it, along with salmon being a good training food. If you're a member, fly fish at shilo. nuff said.
