Would you all have been more inclined to read it if the disclaimer was actually in the beginning? That was the problem I have to consider while writing this article, or any article, for the Times. As a writer I have to find a way to draw readers in. Now regardless of the reaction towards it, I'm glad that at least there are some, but disappointed that no one's tried to even write up their own ideas for the year yet. So go ahead and criticize the fact that a disclaimer wasn't even put in the beginning instead of what the article was about if that's what you're so intent upon doing.<_<

While training up for hunting, I noticed that for penguins can be caught by dead fall, net trap, and box trap. In addition, while trying to figure out what I need to go hunting to get some quick levels, I found that sometimes the calculator gives a false sense of "quick" leveling. Some of the methods are, unfortunately, painfully slow or inconvenient compared to others, and it would help to know while calculating what method is being used to catch those things. Unless we're hardcore hunting, I don't think all of us can feasibly remember which traps are for what monsters. My suggestion would be to have some way of indicating how the monsters are caught (noose wand, net trap, dead fall, etc.). Some ideas floating around: 1. Have abbreviations besides or in front of the monster. The problem with this, however, is that it'll make the entry a wee bit long and possibly distracting. 2. Separating the calculator further into different categories. Problem with this is that there are some categories that only have a few monsters and not many. Plus would certain categories even be used later on? 3. Having pictures besides the entries. Just a matter of figuring out how the pictures will work for some things (dead fall versus pit fall). Some more ideas or ways to improve the ideas listed above would be awesome! Hopefully I'm not the only one that feels this way.:pray:

After a much needed hiatus, ForsakenMage finally decided that it was time to move on. At first I protested, telling her we had to wait until at least my final examinations were done and over with, but in the end I gave her to key to let her pass into the world that Pengew had shown me. On top of a Human Biology exam and dealing with the upcoming holiday mayhem, ForsakenMage helped me thank Pengew for her guidance and taking care of me the past few months. Pengew merely grinned, looking pretty self-satisfied with her levels and accomplishments, then went off on her own merry way to worlds unknown. I'd be lying if I said that the first week of wandering around P2P was easy. "Come on! We need to work on Construction! I want to put my clothes somewhere finally!" There goes about five million... "Come on! We need to work on Herblore! I want to try out those crazy potions people always talked about!" There goes another three million... "Oh oh! Agility! Let's try that place in Brimhaven people are talking about!" There goes my sanity... "ForsakenMage! Slow down!" I scolded. "Why are you in such a hurry anyway?" "Well..." She glanced over self--dragon chain mail, dragon plated skirt, dragon boots, and an abyssal whip--and then though over her skills, nearly all except summoning closing in on level 50 or more. "You only have about three weeks of vacation left right?" "Right." "I want to beat Pengew." "What?" "She has over 240 quest points! I'm still at 226! I want to do more quests!" "Don't you think we better level up some of your stats a bit?" "And she can play air guitar! I want to play air guitar!" "Erm, yes I suppose, but-" "So let's go!" "Hold it, missy!" I had to tug ForsakenMage back by the edge of her achievement cape. "Slow down. You know I can't keep up with you like this. We've been hardcore questing for two weeks or so now. Don't you want to try to level up a little bit?" "No! Not until I need to for quests." "Not even to get the minimum stats needed to finish all of them in one go?" "We're saving that for achievement diaries. I want to finish the quests now!" See what I have to deal with? An overly obsessed character wanting to finish the quests and get as much music as possible. This was going to be a long winter "vacation.":ohnoes:

At least they made the access points in several locations. Remember the crowds all over south of Falador every time the events came out?:ohnoes::wall:

Now and again she'll come back, make a few necklaces, then zoom off again to some random part of the Kingdom of Misthalin. Before she left, I asked her who would keep me company during her absence. She thought for a moment. "Xin Anmi can keep you company." "Xin Anmi?" "My protege." "Since when did you have a protege?" "Since you weren't paying too much attention. She's a fairly decent fisher." "Combat?" I received a smart rap on the head with the pommel of ForsakenMage's Rune Scimitar. "Hey! That hurt!" "Does it matter what combat she is? She could prove to be a great companion." "Why do you say that?" "Well for one thing she's been to Taverly." "Wait, what?" "And Camelot, Catherby, the Gnome Agility Course-" "Wait, wait, wait! Hold on a second! Are you telling me she's -" "Yes, she's one of them." I just stared at ForsakenMage for a moment, then winced, and finally cringed. "You're going to toss me out into a strange world with little to no guidance?" "I'm sure she knows what to do." "Are you kidding me?! That's another nine skills I need to read up on so that we can cooperate! And that's on top of the other fifteen that I need to update myself on!" ForsakenMage showed no sympathy. The only thing that wasn't pink was her Games Necklace and the gold glint that I saw from her finger that was I later on found out was her Ring of Charos. "Hey! I'm Xin Anmi, but you can call me Pengew! Are we all ready to go, partner?" "Um, yea, but can I ask you a favor first?" "What is it?" Pengew asked eagerly. "Tone the pink down." "Okay!" Pengew skipped over to the bank, coming back wearing Lederhosen shorts, a brown apron, and Myre snelm. "Is this okay?" "Erm, on second thought, go back to the pink." "Okay!" As Pengew skipped away to change, I hit my head on the desk a few times. She really had no proper sense of decency. Both outfits were short and skimpy, but at least the pink looked more presentable. "So what are we going to do today, Ami?" "Can you slay dragons yet?" "Um, yea, but I need to use a lot of food." "What about abyssal demons?" "Don't know how." "Do you know how to catch shark?" "Can't, too weak." Oh god. "So what can you do?" "Um, I can fish herring." This was going to be a long... oh shoot, ForsakenMage didn't even say how long she was going to be gone! I must've looked horrified because Pengew looked at me worriedly. "Ami? Are you okay?" "Huh? Oh yea, fine. Let's just go see what quests we can do in the meantime. How are your combat skills exactly?" "Um..." "Don't answer that." "Okay." :wall:

It's a free DLC for PC users... otherwise you'll have to buy it. >_< Rumors are going around that on Sept. 23, XBox Gold users can participate in a "Game with Fame" event to play on the new campaign, Crash Course. This doesn't necessarily mean that Crash Course will come out on Sept. 23, but hopefully it's something before or on that date. Otherwise, epic fail to whoever organized the event. :lol:

NOOOOOOOOO! :wall: I wanna play it soon before I get too busy with work and school. *Sobs* Kcdragon, a big part of the game is LISTEN LISTEN LISTEN. If you're not used to doing that yet, it'd be a good idea to have captions on so that you can "hear" the Special Infected and common Infected coming. Having the game music on to a slight level also helps until you get used to the game; it will help to let you know when there's a Tank, Witch, or Horde coming. :)

Well here goes my little commentary on the finalists in rank.... 1. Excl - The idea may seem boring, but as you get further along in the video, that's precisely the dilemma that video makers must've faced while trying to make up videos for the contest. The voices were awesome, particularly for the one suggesting to make a video on bounty hunter adventures. I swear, while watching the video being made, I was going "WTH is that?!" to the actor wearing it; almost cried laughing because it was just so outrageous. The best part was the ending with the "Video cut short due to time constraints." :lol: It's simple, it's clean, and I like that. :P I'm not a fan of over-editing and lots of special effects. 2. KKcomics - Awesome piece of work. Extremely hilarious with lots of potential! :lol: 3. Jinsr44 - I loved his original video (the Riverdance one), but the new one just didn't do it for me to make me want to place it first or second. For one thing to me it felt like it was a copy of the old video, or extras from it. Yes it's a lot of work to get the timing right, but it's the same thing over and over again. :( Still I place him third because of the effort that it's taken to even GET the whole thing just right. 4. Bumbum007 - Okay, to be brutally honest, the song annoyed the heck out of me. Like really made me want to just rip my headphones off or set the video on mute. >_< But I listened anyway to the lyrics and it was... well, I guess cute for lack of a better word right now. But the music and the singing (yes I know not everyone's a great singer; I sure as hell am part of the "not a good singer" group haha) just... BLARGH. :wall: 5. Arrow Gun 99 - Pretty funny, but this idea feels old. :? Two guys fight over something, then end up losing it completely... 6. Mommakitty2 - I can see the effort put into this, but with the fact that it's so many clips put into one video felt like a huge overload for me. If it was something that showed maybe a few scenes, that's fine, but I felt like I was going through a whirlwind of videos at once... So there goes my little review of sorts.

While your cause is noble in some perspectives, Jagex has stated specifically over and over again that they would not be bringing the old Wilderness back. I will not make this an official thread either as this will simply make it seem like Tip.it is giving support for this petition, which it isn't. If you wish to advertise your petition, I do recommend getting to know the community first before proceeding to argue for your cause. You'll have better luck that way. This does not mean I'm giving you permission to start another thread to advertise the petition. So that's what happened while I was doing that quest on my noob... I thought maybe it needed two doses for whatever dumb reason. Looked and was like, "Huh, weird, I thought I made three full doses, but I've already used up one entirely on one set of logs?" :lol: -_- Time to start leveling up my other stats on the noob account so that I can finish up the dwarf quests, among others. Blaaaah.

I have to admit, I giggled at that. :oops: I haven't gotten a chance to experience the updates yet since I'm stuck on campus, but later on tonight, we'll see. :twisted: -_- I feel dumb at the moment because I sold my sapphire necklaces too early. Still got some profit at least... Oh well. As for the doubling of certain items, I really don't recommend it, especially if you're not supposed to be able to get two or more of them in the first place. I know logically it sounds stupid, especially when it comes to the harmless items, but don't go against the intentions the game has set. :?

Before I begin, huge note: I have members on my noob character, not my main. XD I might have to consider tearing my house down and starting over because it's not in the layout I had intended for it. One of the things that drives me to do this is that I want it to reflect my personality (and I'm insane about order as some of you may already know based on how you may have seen my bank organized haha). So I value it more due to how it reflects my personality, not necessarily showing off how much money I have.

SKYBOXES! YAY! Finally a more realistic feel without feeling like there's a glass ceiling pressed down on you so much as before. :lol: I think we might still have some distance fog, recalling from other games I've seen (depending on the view angle, the fog will still show, but not as thickly as other angles). As for the lighting effects, I wonder if that includes the blasts of magic each time we used strikes/bolts/etc. :-k Would be interesting to see not to geometrically polygon-shaped blasts. :lol:

Yay Maur! :) Just got another crafting level today. Made some calculations, and it looks like I actually have enough to get me to 89 and a wee bit over. :shock: And if I time it right, I can buy another set of stuff to keep going. \ If I can get 99 crafting this year, holy cow. :shock:
