October 15th 2008 - PVP Worlds + Game Log In Improvements
I'm gonna have fun trying to even LOOK for someone to attack and kill. Experiences on BH suggests that this will be a difficult task. Still it looks like we're gonna have some fun here. I can see it now: Epic clan wars in the middle of the great cities! Or better yet, CABBAGE PATCH WARS!

tif mods?
Liek oh my god do you ralely wnana raed smtnoheig liek tihs 24/7? Not me! When I first started on staff, I had a lot of people ask me how old I was because the way I typed was like "50." However, with official communications, I like to try to use proper language to try to get the message across. Even posting on the forums on informal stuff I still like to try to spell things properly and keep it as simple as possible. Last thing I need is some weird out of context quoting. o_O' But if you guys really want me to use a big word right now: SUPERCALIFRAGILISTICEXPIALIDOCIOUS!!!!!

all 99 stats f2p?
:P For the record: I was a full time student with later a job during my final year, and now I've graduated and am now working almost full-time. I try to go to bed at decent hours so I don't stay up late, and even on days when I'm not working I still have some stuff to do like laundry, chores, etc. And I'm still going for 99 range. So as far as I can tell: definitely not no-lifing. Most of my life is currently preoccupied by my real life responsibilities so I can only snag half an hour, and if I'm lucky at most two, a day of playing RuneScape anyway except on weekends. :P Response Step 1: Yes, I'm one of those "dumb" people who want to get all 99 F2P legit. Step 2: I don't grind all day long, but I have played this game for years, but out of pure enjoyment, not really for the goal to get all 99 F2P. Step 3: I'm not obese, ugly will depend on your opinion and not mine, I am definitely not uneducated having graduated from high school and have an Associate's Degree and a Bachelor's degree, and I'm definitely not lonely with the friends I have in real life. Step 4: I haven't achieved all 99s yet, but I have achieved some and quite frankly I'm always thankful for the people who show up when I get my 99s. The time they take out of their play time to watch me level is really sweet of them, especially the P2Pers who must face the F2P questions ("OMG what's that you're wearing?! OMG skill cape! Emote plz!"). Step 5: Well I'm not a hobo. I'm still in a house. And don't start about living with the parents because I am only doing so because I just finished school and am now working on earning enough so I can get my own place one day. Not everyone can just go and have a house, let alone rent an apartment/studio/loft, immediately. Step 6: Clean bill of health according to the doctor, and I'm fairly sure the bubonic plague won't be happening any time soon. Unless you're talking about my RuneScape character going P2P and then getting a plague, then I don't know.

the new halloween items???
Just think: Grim reaper hood with skeleton costume on hovering broom stick. Bring terror to the noobs of Lumbridge :ohnoes: I lol'ed in real life at that. I can just see it now... Player 1: Omg how u do dat?! Player 2: Ahhhhhh! were gonna die!!!!!11!1!!!111! Player 3: Noob! come down here and fight like a man! And some immature comments that I can imagine some saying but I won't say here because it'd be breaking the rules.

all 99 stats f2p?
That's rather mean to say. :( Many of those players have been around for a while and play while attending school/working/other real life responsibilities, including myself. Just because someone maxes out their stats doesn't mean their no-life's. :| It's possible to do, and while few have accomplished it, you can be sure more slowly will follow. It's rough trying to max on F2P, but the overall effort gives that satisfying feeling, at least for me, of challenging one self by completing things the hard way.

PETA wants Ben & Jerrys to use human breast milk
I personally don't like hunting, but I can see why people do it though. Humans had to hunt for their food in days long gone, so it comes as a survival instinct. By the way, there are some non-dairy ice cream made (Trader Joe's sells them out here), and it's pretty good. o.O But I'd still like my regular milk please... Next thing you know PETA will propose us to drink human breast milk instead of cows' milk. :wall: I know there are some people who do that (a report a few years ago was on a woman who still breast-fed her children, one of them if I recall correctly being around 9 years old), and I won't try to judge them, but me personally it'd make me feel as though I haven't passed infancy. :| And that being in ice cream won't make me feel any better either. I'll be thinking I'm eating baby food 24/7. o_O'

Seeking New Printer
I am currently looking for a new printer. My current one, the HP PSC 2175xi all-in-one, hasn't been the most cooperative in the world. It refuses to work properly with the router so we're stuck printing from one computer, it's getting the "Press Enter to align cartridges" messages occasionally (I've found a fix for this but it's still annoying to keep having to do this now and again), doesn't seem to like any of the new cartridges we've bought for the color ink, forcing us to us the photo cartridge ink instead :wall: , and overall has been a huge PITA for the past 3-4 years that we've had it. :wall: We're looking for something preferably around the range of $100 (that won't bite us as well in terms of ink price; reasonably priced ink in other words), is inkjet (laser's okay but it's not a must), is not HP (because the last few HP printers we've had really drove my family and I bonkers now), and is a copier-scanner-printer (fax is not necessary), and should be okay to use on a home network. Computer & Network Info: Router: D-Link Computer OS: Windows XP for the desktops (Dell), Windows Media Center Edition for the laptops (HP) RAM: 512MB for the desktops (Dell), 1GB for the laptops (HP) Not exactly sure what other info is needed, but I will do my best to provide the necessary info when asked. EDIT: Since details tend to be missed in paragraphs... Preferred Brand: Anything but HP Function: Multifunction (Printer-Scanner-Copier; Fax is NOT necessary but okay) Black & White or Color: Color Laser or Inkjet: Inkjet, but laser is okay if it is reasonably priced Price Range: Around $100 (no more than $150 please; ink cartridges/toner must also be reasonably priced) Connection: USB preferably

ranging stories
This usually happens on a daily basis, all within a short period of time. Player 1: Range level? Me: 89 Player 1: Attack level? Defense level? Hits? Me: Sorry but I don't feel like playing 20 questions today. Player 2: What arrows are you shooting? Me: Steel Player 2: Why not use rune? Me: I'm f2p... Player 2: Okay so addy? Me: Eh no... Can we stop playing the question game now? Please? Player 2: What's that thing next to your name? :wall:

U.S. Military JROTC
Brainwashed would mean me believing the program is perfect. It's not of course. There's bound to be differences between different cities and battalions. I know for sure that there are commanders, SAIs and AIs that aren't perfect either. What I do know is of the curriculum based on experience and from what I've been told from people who have done JROTC and are now serving the military, it's definitely different from the "real thing." :P

U.S. Military JROTC
This is why you got to be careful with how you describe JROTC. It's not a military training program for youth! :wall: A lot of anti-military people love to jump on this program because of that poor description. It may be funded by the government and it may use the same uniforms as the military, but JROTC is far from being the military. If you think marching around and doing PT every week makes those people soldiers, you're wrong. The real military does a lot more than that. JROTC may give you an idea of what the military may be, but it's intentions are definitely not for giving youth military training. It angered me greatly when the San Francisco Board of Education voted to remove the program and have it replaced with something else (which they have failed to so far) and now a proposition is on the ballot for the people to elect to have JROTC put back into place. The SFBoE's excuse for the removal: promotes violence, is homophobic (the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy is actually Congress' rule, not the military's), and is a waste of money. Wow. Seriously? JROTC gave a lot of students in San Francisco a safe place to be after school and a place where they felt like they belonged. I was a cadet for three years. Do I know how to use a gun? No. I could have learned if I joined the rifle team, but I didn't have to be a JROTC cadet to join it, and one doesn't have to be a soldier to learn how to use a gun. Do I know how to fight in a war? No. Have I ever gotten recruitment letters from the various military colleges in the United States? No more than the average person that was applying to go to college. Have any military personnel approached me in an attempt to recruit me? No. Did being a JROTC cadet make me want to join the military? No. What the JROTC program did do was teach me life skills that not a lot of classes in grade school would. It teaches leadership, discipline, communication, first aid, map reading, physical fitness, social and personal responsibility, teamwork, and many things that may not even be part of the curriculum but you learn anyway from the different people you work with every day to make the program work. Highest awards I've gotten as a JROTC cadet: the Retired Officer's Association Award and JROTC Citizenship Award. I'd rattle off the rest but I don't want to bore anyone.

the new halloween items???
I wouldn't mind having something like a pet werewolf... I am really getting tired of wearables for Halloween stuff. :( Maybe a caged raven or something. I dunno. Or maybe we can have a pumpkin lantern. Just ANYTHING but clothes and weapons please! :|

U.S. Military JROTC
While some parts of the program do mimic the military training, please do NOT call it military training. It is because of something like that that's resulted in numerous attempts to disband the program completely and receive very negative comments. :( If anything, it's a leadership program that uses some of the military techniques that help teach students that. It also teaches communication skills, first aid, good physical fitness, being financially responsible as you make your way towards college, how to go about getting a job (the program doesn't make you join the real military), etc. Remember the motto: To motivate young people to become better citizens. Keep in mind it's not boot camp. I was a part of the US Army JROTC program. Graduated as head S-4 (Logistics & Supply) as a Cadet Second Lieutenant (I joined the program during my sophomore year of high school). It is a wonderful program that helps bring people out of their shells. Went from awkward and shy to a lot more confident about myself, everyone in it was like being a part of a huge family, and it was a great place to be after school. :) It's how I found some great mentors in my life too. :D I didn't participate in special units (like Color Guard, Flag Team, Exhibition Team, etc.), but I still had a lot of fun just being a part of the battalion and brigade. :) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JROTC Scroll down to the bottom for external links for the various JROTC programs.

haha, so my 360 red ringed... but theres more obviously
Please be mindful of what kind of advice you're trying to give out, indirectly or not, as it may cause irreparable damage and could lead to some unforeseen consequences on your part. :| And for those who are screaming against the method: Just politely point out the problem next time. :) No need to call him a moron, no matter how stupid the action may be. Have a nice day! Remember, duckies go moo.

Runescape Resizable Window.
Hrm.. I wonder how it'd look on my wide-screen HDTV... I can already see a good lot of the map on my 17" wide-screen laptop... I'm gonna test that next weekend. ^^; And I don't think it's an unfair advantage. You can't help it that it's doing that when you're on full screen with the resizable to be honest.

Study help
I try to study a week in advanced... Usually I don't have music playing since there's enough noise everywhere to not be distracting, but just enough to make me feel sane (I can't stand super quiet places). Here's a tip: Take a break every two hours. The longer you study, the shorter your attention span is and all your studying will be for nothing if you don't pause now and again. And by break I don't mean log onto RuneScape. Just go stretch, get a healthy snack, use the restroom if you have to, then get back to work. :)

911
Several times, at home and once at the uni. Can't give the details for the uni one. :P The ones at home were mainly noise complaints (trance party across the street at 1AM is bad, especially when the whole street can hear it coming from one house) and disturbing the peace (two people screaming and fighting outside on the street). :-# (Yea I know three year old topic, but since people posted semi-decent replies that are on topic, meh gonna let it live for now... :P)

Thompson Disbared!
No that was Roy Pearson. Apparently he researched for two years before filing suit. :wall:

Thompson Disbared!
I'm glad he got disbarred. The man was ridiculous, especially with his reactions towards the school shootings where the shooters were involved with video games. That's just sickening.

PETA wants Ben & Jerrys to use human breast milk
You know, I can see where they're trying to make a point though in that we humans wouldn't want to be hooked to machines to be milked, and that they feel that cows feel the same way. It just seems absurd. I mean think about it, human breast milk has the potential to pass on diseases and whatnot, and it's hard to control that. It'll take a lot of selective hiring and testing to make sure that all females pass the inspections before being milked. For all we know this could lead to a cry of foul from women with smaller breasts because maybe employers would feel that women with larger breasts can produce more milk (if people actually go along with the idea, and for the record, larger breasts does not mean more milk). It just goes on and on from there... For the record, you can't make cheese out of breast milk: http://www.indrani.net/index.php?q=2006 ... ilk_cheese There was a social experiment in making ice cream into human breast milk apparently... http://www.bio.miami.edu/muscarella/mot ... cream.html
