Everafter - Slow updates, but still great to read; twist on fairy tale characters like Little Red Ridding Hood, one of the Three Little Pigs, and more Sugar Bits - Original work by Bleedman; updated once a week on Saturday/Sunday Grim Tales from Down Below - Fanwork by Bleedman; updated once a week on Saturday/Sunday Power Puff Girls Doujinshi - Fanwork by Bleedman; completed work Snafu Comics - Warning: MAY contain some dark humor, like the recent one they put up :ohnoes: The Adventures of Dr. McNinja - Updated every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday The Seraph-Inn - Sarah Ellerton, the creator, is working on her second comic, The Phoenix Requiem. I highly recommend reading Inverloch, her first comic completed and in the process of being published completely! :D Waiting on volume 3 right now to buy. Updates for The Phoenix Requiem are twice a week, Sunday/Monday and Wednesday/Thursday Lackadaisy - Prohibition Period in the US; interesting stuff; slow updates but great read

Western food in eastern countries?
I'm Asian, and yes I eat rice every day for dinner, as well as some simple traditional Chinese dishes. But for breakfast and lunch, it's a mix. Breakfast for me would be mostly "Western food " like cereal, toast, etc. Lunch would either be the stereotypical Chinese food or just another "Western food," like sandwiches, spaghetti, etc. When I went to Hong Kong back in 2004-2005, I noticed there was an increase of Western restaurants/cafes/stores/etc. like McDonalds, Burger King, Starbucks, etc. They even had IKEAs in the larger shopping centers. :ohnoes: Before 2004-2005 I went to Hong Kong and China in 1997 and didn't remember seeing so many of those places. o_O' However, keep in mind that some of those Western restaurants actually try to cater to the culture there. I know McDonald's has specific menus for each country they serve. Not sure about Burger King and Starbucks though.

F2P Runescape now has popups..
:-? Funny I haven't experienced pop-ups yet, but I do get the banner ads and the one where you have to click skip to continue on... But regardless, the ads have not bothered me seriously (except for a couple years ago where we had those horrible flash ads. PKers: Remember the Blooodworks ad with Clint Eastwood? ) because of their purpose, which is to help with costs of the servers, especially on the F2P side.

How many songs are possible in f2p?
I honestly don't even remember HOW I got some of the songs since they are supposedly in P2P areas. Maybe one day I just need to go on my noob so I'm not tempted to teleport and just walk every square of RS or something... That'd take forever. o_O'

Any place where I can find old world maps?
And that map was from 2001 according to my logs. And actually there are "POHs" there, above the mining guild.

my essay: Why being a moderator is no big deal
Speaking from personal experience, that's not always the case. I got one guy a couple of days ago following me around going "Mods are noobs!" Against my better judgment I asked why, and he said he got unjustly banned. So I pointed him to appeals, and he claims its worthless and that I should unban him right that instant. Told him I don't have any sort of ban or unban powers, but my lines pretty much got zoomed past through selective reading. The sad part is when some people just harass the player moderators on purpose just to see what mutes are like, then blame the player moderators for it... Guys, if you don't know what's a mute already here it is: PEOPLE CAN'T READ WHAT YOU SAY EXCEPT IN QUICK CHAT. :wall: It is NOT a pleasant experience, and if your curiosity got you muted for longer than you expected, then that's entirely YOUR fault. Don't blame the player moderators for your mistakes.

July 31 - Barrows Brothers Wall Paper and Christmas poll
I wanted the Elf costume to be honest since we already had Santa hats and reindeer hats. I feel like the elves got left out. :( Still, I am looking forward to seeing the event. Should be amazing, especially on HD. :D

Earthquakes
3.0 magnitude earthquake struck around the same area at 9:37PM Pacific Daylight Savings Time. http://earthquake.usgs.gov/eqcenter/rec ... 384764.php It's not too bad, but can be nerve-wrecking after that 5.4 one.

Earthquakes
I beg to differ... http://www.fema.gov/hazard/earthquake/eq_during.shtm And if FEMA isn't something you trust, here: http://earthquake.usgs.gov/learning/faq.php?categoryID=14&faqID=80 Most desks in the classrooms aren't sturdy enough to bear that much weight to begin with if you think about it. But if you were in an office building or you have a large heavy desk at home, you should be fine. Most of the deaths from the 7.9 earthquake in Eastern Sichuan, China back in May resulted from schools collapsing. Many of those schools were poorly built and as a result had buried students, staff, and faculty in the quake. If you were in a properly built building though, would you rather try to run out of the building and have light fixtures and random objects crash around or even onto you or would you stay under a table and wait for the shaking to decrease? I rather wait. :|

my essay: Why being a moderator is no big deal
Yes, there are F2P mods. Forsakenmage is one of them. :P And still am one hehe. Don't think I'll be getting members even though prices will be going up soon. Great read, Ixfd. It definitely outlines what player moderators really are compared to Jagex moderators. Hopefully the newer players that read this understand finally. I'm sorry to hear about what happened to your account. :( See you around in game I hope! *Hugs!*

Earthquakes
It's been dropped down to 5.4 I just moved out of that area just a month and a half go. :? Calling up people as well as I can to try to get in touch with them. :( While living in Northern California, I made it through the Loma Prieta earthquake in 1989, and in the later years a few smaller ones in the Bay Area. While I was attending university at UC Riverside in the last two years we had a lot of small earthquakes... So while I'm more or less "used" to earthquakes, it's still scary. :( I still can't get rid of that rumbling noise in my head from the '89 one. >_< Hope everyone there is okay!

California Fires
http://www.cnn.com/2008/US/07/28/fire.yosemite/ The Yosemite situation is definitely not good since that area hasn't burned in so long... I was just up there two years ago too two years and a day ago. :| Was hot, but fortunately no dry lightning strikes then. Hopefully the firefighters get a handle on this soon... No smoke in the Bay Area thankfully. Just a lot of fog just sitting there. :| Two days ago it was warm too and now it's cold. :wall:

100% F2P: An Achievement?
I'm 100% F2P, have been F2P since I first started playing back in 2001. Am I proud of my achievements while being F2P? Of course, but only because I managed to so far stick up to the challenge of dealing with slower leveling and more certain annoyances. You might not think it's the greatest thing in the world, but I've always liked to pose a challenge for myself. Sure P2P has its own challenges, and I give props to them too for those who stepped up to the plate to face them by getting P2P in the beginning. There is no right or wrong way to get skills, no right or wrong way to equip armour and weapons to train, and certainly no right or wrong way to celebrate your achievements. Every goal, regardless of whether your F2P or P2P, is great. Besides, to be honest, with all the updates we've been getting, leveling on F2P isn't that hard. 40k an hour training melee stats at the Stronghold of Security's Giant Spiders level-50 isn't too bad. Sure it's nothing compared to the 60k+ per hour P2Pers get, but hey, it's still decent. The "Skill-all" option certainly made things easier for EVERYONE. Fine that our furnaces aren't that close to the bank, fine we don't have that many skills to play with, but that doesn't mean they don't exist anyway. Here are my reasons why I can't get members: 1. A few years ago I started college/university. For some of you, $5.00 may not seem like a lot, but back then it could've meant two gallons of gas (of course, right now it means a gallon), a small simple meal (which these days can mean over $5.00 now), maybe an item or two of necessities at a store, etc. (coupons for the win) And with the fact I was not working at the time, I couldn't just go and spend the money and time on a game. Because I was focused on my academics, I didn't feel that forking out $5.00 was worth it because I wouldn't make it worthwhile. 2. I have some money now that I saved up from my job back at the university, but now I have to pay an insurance bill that's near $200 bi-monthly, I have a student loan of $5,500 plus interest that I have to start paying soon, I'm unemployed, and the economy is not looking great. I don't want to depend on my parents to give me money to pay my bills, and I certainly don't want them to ask for money to pay for a game because they'll find that utterly unreasonable. If you guys honestly think that $5.00 is easy to come by these days, it's not when you have to think about what financial responsibilities you'll eventually have. 3. Issue of making it worthwhile due to time and money constraints. Now don't get me wrong, I have seriously thought about getting members before, but I haven't been able to think of a way to see how I would make it worthwhile and how would it affect me budget wise. If I were to get P2P, I want to make it a good experience, not a "oh man I paid for three months and I haven't had time to play at all, there goes $15.00 down the drain." With the fact I'm planning to go back to uni again to get another degree doesn't make that decision any easier either. I have nothing against people going P2P, but I do have something against those who diss people who being happy they have obtained their goals on F2P only. How would you like it if I dissed you for reaching your goals on P2P? How would I like it if I followed your threads on the Rate This! board and say, "Oh you're P2P, that's nothing special at all. You guys can get levels so easy. " I'm pretty sure some of you would say, "Oh I don't care." But there are some that would care too and I don't think you guys would like it. So really, because of personal circumstances, I can't be a member. But that doesn't mean I can't be proud of my achievements either.
