  1. It may seem rather pathetic, but the "horrible" bit would be people who just aren't careful and slipping and injuring themselves due to the ice. It may look visible there, but in other parts, it wasn't so visible and I've slipped quite a few times already these past few days due to it. Think regionally. I agree heavy snow is worse than ice, but you need to look at the area you're comparing with. Some parts of California do snow (Sierra Nevada Mountains, Lake Tahoe, etc.), but where those pictures were taken, it doesn't, and normally doesn't get that cold. Average temperatures for this time of year do NOT fall below 40̢̮â¬Å¡ÃâðF normally. So while those pictures aren't something to go call disasterous, it is out of the norm. http://wwwa.accuweather.com/forecast-no ... 3&metric=0 The disaster really for California right now due to the cold front that's in relation to the pictures I've posted is that the crops are damaged, including the ones down here in Southern California due to the cold, as well as several water mains breaking, causing floods and sink holes on the streets. As of now, the forcast predicts temperatures to feel like 28̢̮â¬Å¡ÃâðF even though in reality it'd be 37̢̮â¬Å¡ÃâðF. That may not be freezing to you, but in some parts California, that is too cold for comfort.

Never actually encountered anything supernatural, though I've had a few scares where once I was washing the dishes and there was a pot of soup boiling. I asked for someone to turn off the stove for me, but when I looked at the pot again the stove was off. Either I somehow turned it off and forgot about it or something did because I didn't hear anyone come up to turn the knob. Then of course you hear the random creaks, but our house is old. As far as I know, it's not haunted nor hampered by bad things. Plus you hear stories about how if a couple brings a baby with them to look at the house and the baby cries during the touring, then thehouse isn't good. I was a little over one when we moved into the house we live in now, and my parents said I seemed pretty happy while I slept in a large cardboard box as they were fixing up the place. :P I've heard stories about the house across from me though where a woman supposedly died in there, but wasn't found until days afterward. Supposedly someone who lived in the house once saw her standing in the hallway. Supposedly is the keyword here. :uhh: I've only been in the house a few times as a child to visit the family who lived there before they moved, so I don't know if there are any spirits, though I'm not ready to completely doubt their existence.
  3. Just to give an idea of how that arctic front affected the Inland Empire (area in Southern California that's east of LA), here are a few pictures I took with my cell phone camera. Temperature the University of California - Riverside at 8AM Pacific Standard Time was 27̢̮â¬Å¡ÃâðF/-3̢̮â¬Å¡ÃâðC on Sunday, 15 January 2007: This is one of larger ice patches. The sprinklers tend to flood here around the base of the tree, so a pool of water normaly sits there. Now it's entirely frozen by ice half an inch thick. Puddle of water from the sprinklers frozen onto one of the pathways leading to one of the dormitories. Another patch of ice on the pathways. Looks like someone put plastic there until you step and touch on it. Tonight we're expecting a low of 31̢̮â¬Å¡ÃâðF, with the RealFeel̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâî temperature of 16 ̢̮â¬Å¡ÃâðF. For those that read in metric, that's low: -1̢̮â¬Å¡ÃâðC, RealFeel̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâî: -9̢̮â¬Å¡ÃâðC. ;) Good thing I don't live in Lancaster, California. They hit a record low of 3̢̮â¬Å¡ÃâðF/-16̢̮â¬Å¡ÃâðC yesterday. Entire yards were frozen.
  4. A few nights ago on the DoD server I play on, a guy asked me this question: Guy: "LostPulse, how old are you?" Me: "Erm, does it even matter how old I am? Why do you ask?" Guy: "Well, either you sound or you're really really young." Me: "Hey now, watch your language!" Admin: Me: "Apparently some people don't believe ladies play this game." It went on from there. DoD = Day of Defeat. No, I don't have source. Yes I like FPS games and RPG ones as well. Weapons of choice: Scoped Enfield (British Sniper Rifle), Springfield (Allies Sniper Rifle), Mauser Karabiner 98k ZF (German Sniper Rifle), M1A1 Thompson, M3 "Grease Gun," and Maschinenpistole 40 (German Submachine Gun). I'm more of a sniper than a front-line sort of gal though. Reason why I play these sort of games is because it breaks the stereotype of "girly games," plus it's funny to watch the reactions of guys as they get pwned by a girl.
  5. Hehe, I'm temporarily right where you are for university reasons. It's freezing out here too. It snowed, but didn't stay for long sadly. I missed it too because I was asleep lol!
  6. 1.) You spelled "deer" wrong. ;) Plus, has it occurred to you that perhaps it was a reference to the money he'd be getting? 2.) Well, what did you want him to do then in regards to this topic? Grab the couple's financial records, personal information, moving contracts, etc.? 3.) We all can't be perfect with our spelling. 4.) Maybe he typed "moeving" (moveing which is incorrect of course, but that can be a typo) and deleted the wrong vowel. 5.) You typed 4) instead of 5). >_> It's just something he wants to share. Your post wasn't very contributional to the topic at hand. In regards to the topic, maybe he really isn't doing it for the money and wants to have a bit of change, plus bring back some quality into the football/soccer team in the US. Can we really disgrace everyone that goes to another country for that? Plus, as people have said, it's not him that asked for the salary. It's what was being offered, and sometimes you really can't ask for lower or that would ruin your name oddly enough.
  7. Are you sure you weren't mixing it up from when we had the Santa Scape song back to the Scape Main?
  8. I mean the login screen. Not in-game. Its the same old music thats been there since the launch of RS2!!! Actually, this would be the second version of it. :P But yes, this theme is old. :|
  9. 99 Defense and Woodcutting. Soon to incude 99 Attack.
  10. My sixth month anniversary is the day AFTER Valentines. >.> So I dunno what I'm gonna do. Do I celebrate the V day or the 15th? AAAAaaaahhhhh In attempts to steer the topic back on topic, I shall answer this person's post. I say go celebrate the anniversary. :P
  11. ^_^ I can't say or my lover will find out what it is. Just something nice and sweet (taste and scent wise hehe). And something else as well... I'm so girly. #-o
  12. Hehe. I already bought the pressie nice and early....
  13. The body rune altar one... Forgot its name. >_
  14. :( If they let me capitalize the M in my name sure! But that's all really. Maybe change the name of my old noob account, Zero In486, to something more... amusing, like "Zero In Tea." :P
  15. Spiderman 3, Pirate of the Carribean: At World's End, Harry Potter & the Order of the Phoenix, and Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer. Not a big HP fan to be honest, but it can't hurt to watch. :P

It was decent, and that's being generous to say that. Indeed, it was rushed, and I don't recommend watching this as a short-cut to not reading the book. Had they put more effort into following the book like the director of the LotR movies did, it would've been better. Although, there were actually complaints that the battles in LotR were much too long... Meh, can't please 'em all. My say: If you like a good book rushed through, go see Eragon. Otherwise, read the book and hope they do a better job with the next movie. If they don't do a better job on the next one, I doubt people will go running for the DVD. :uhh:
  17. I don't have Call of Duty, though I've seen it and I'm quite impressed by it, so please don't say, "If you want realism, CoD is better!" when I say this: Day of Defeat. (And I don't have Source yet so shhh! :P) Reason why I like it is mostly because it does take into affect that getting wounded will slow you down a bit and that you'll need some time to recover from the shock. Likewise, a sniper rifle isn't gonna just sit there still for you; the crosshairs will jiggle, and the scope isn't 100% clean. Only thing I don't like about it, which is the same problem with CS, is the fact that some of the weapons are one-hit kills. On Day of Defeat, the K98. The riflemen and the snipers alike use it on the Axis side (I rather not try putting in the German name for it... I'd butcher it so bad), and they're basically "noob-sticks." Although, I have to admit, when I'm stuck to even the teams, I'm normally a sniper anyway, so "noob-stick" away and yay! Hit a guy on his toes and he is DOWN, whereas if I used the Springfield (sniper rifle on the Allies), I hit the toes of the Axis, "Aww, the guy's still moving! >____<" And yes girls play FPS too! =D> They can be scary... XD
  18. Moved to Forum Games.
  19. Drive safely now! I believe you know how crazy drivers are out in CA. :P I don't recommend driving down CA Highway 5 until you're more experienced, even though it's a big straight road. Speed limit is 75 there, but people go up to 100 sometimes. :| (I hate that highway so much...)
  20. If RuneScape was real life I'd be slapping on a lot of food and drink to heal my wounds... >.>' Edit: Hrm.. somehow the last bit of my post got poofed... o_O' Must've accidentally deleted somehow. #-o Excellent transformation. Might wanna have this in the Varrock Library instead after you've cleaned it up a bit. Let me know if you need help editing. :)
  21. Yes, read the link that Cruiser posted. And in case you don't want to read that: Some boards do not count posts!
  22. I'm sorry, but that made me laugh out loud in real life.  I've been told to hold my breath (seems to work most of the time) and drinking something as fast as you can helps... :-k
  23. ;) I was away for two months and a half due to university. But I'm back now, just training on random severs in the Ice Caves. Might get combat 121 finally lol. I terms of who I'd agree with: The Sith (Sithy! Where for art thou? :P) Necromagus (in the Varrock Library) Alduron And more that I can't name right now. >.>; I really need to start reintroducing myself to the people I know...
  24. *Shudders at the thought of more quests and skills.* Hopefully more graphical updates for the towns and NPCs. :) Summoning as an addition to magic makes more sense than making it a new skill all together. Perhaps some improvements to the current skills at hand... Or at least, more reasons why you should work up "useless skills..." Like putting in more prayers and stuff that firemaking can actually be useful for other than making pretty designs and cooking occasionally. :P
  25. It's alive!!! O_O The story is baaack! ^_^ Those details are so gruesome... *Shudders* Can't wait for the next part! :o
