  1. I'm guessing you don't own either guthans. I do, and love my set, it's supposed to be intimidating, not look pretty. If you want to look ' nice' wear some trimmed armour or whatever.
  2. On another note, what's people's opinions of using this arena to test out possible new weapons and armour etc? For example, if they are stuck between two weapon designs they could add them into the game one week prior to the introduction and use the poll for peoples opinions.
  3. Evidently some people didn't pick up that Lanthus created castlewars. This is like another castlewars. At the moment how much time you've played siege wars along with your total kills and damage and also your combat levels will determine how good the armour and weapons you use are. I am planning to add a fair bit more and then modify it on the critiscm I get back. Would it be a good idea to add some stats for example armour? Also, should players supply their own runes and ranged equipment? As for repairing bases, you would not fix it all at once, perhaps 1% per 20 seconds per person or something, I'm thinking of adding in non combat skills, so your crafting and smithing could help with fixing these things.
  4. I'm with bubsa to be honest. If perhaps you went into more detail perhaps people could get a clearer idea of what's going on. Perhaps you could tie it into the lost tribe or something?
  5. Then respect your parents decision. If they don't want you to get members then evidently they don't want you to play it at all. I'm 16, my parents didn't want to use pay with their credit cards because they were a bit paranoid about internet fraud, so i sent in a text, there are loads of ways to pay, have you even looked? And going around saying that everybody over the age of 30 lives with their parents still or whatever is extremely immature, many of the players that are older i tend to find have a much larger understanding of the game. As for the game being targetted at 13 year olds? That rubbish, jagex will try to make the game appeal to everybody possible so they make more cash as far as i can see you've been talking through your rear end this whole topic, to put it politely.
  6. Hmm, i might take them out... But also you can send your own troops using the catapult, they will of course take damage.
  7. Brilliantly presented and very good ideas, add me to the supporters list.
  8. No, it's set so that when you die you prayer is not restored. Later on I'm going to add things about player ranks and so on, I think jagex might not like it because it's a tad complex :?
  9. This is a very long post, beware. I plan to improve this over the next few days before i post it on the RS forums, give me your opinions please :) *note: the necklace of war is a enchanted ruby necklace which can teleport you to siege wars or the Tzhaar bank. Introduction: Lanthus has decided to open another castlewars arena, if you decide to venture to the digsite you should be able to find the new siege wars arena. Alternativly you could teleport there with the necklace of war. Siege wars: Siege wars is a pvp minigame, players are split into two teams wearing cape with thier team's colours, you are not allowed to take any items into the arena, you will be supplied with everything you need. Each team has a base, in this base you have a armoury, a infirmary, a laboratory, a chapel catapults. The armoury: Here you can collect the armour of your class, you choose a class in the waiting room before you enter a match, more info on different class and their armour + weapons later on. The infirmary: In the infirmary you can obtain bandages as well as other things with which to heal your or your comrades. The laboratory: In here your stock of explosive potions, flammable liquids, and performance enhancing potions can be found in here. The chapel: Here you will find some altars, with which you can recharge your prayer once you die. The catapults: These can fire flaming rocks (or ordinary rocks) as well as players, although you may want to be careful handling others here. Your ranged level will improve how accurate you fire. Each of these 5 features of your base can be destroyed by the enemy (and vice versa) which will make them less effective, your armoury will have less effective equipment, your infirmary and lab will have limited supplys, your chapel will restore less prsayer points (as well as increasing respawn times slightly) and your catapults will fire off target. But fear not, all of these things can be fixed by using your hammer and chisel, better to try and defend it though. How to score: The first way to score is by destroying your enemies base, for every % they have lost *at the end of the match* you will score one point, allowing 500 points to be gained from there. The other way is kill count, depending on how many people there are in the game, and the level gap between teams your kills will count for more, or less. It should be fairly balanced so the game is not just destroying or killing, but a mixture. The classes: Melee: Guardian: These troops are outfitted with a large pike with which they can attack from over walls, they have fairly heavy armour as they don't need to move much, they are best suited to guarding a base. Secondary weapon: A hachet. Light infantry: These form the backbone of most armies, the wear light armour, chain mail and so on, and wield a long sword, the light armour also allows them to move over most terrain and agility obstacles, allowing them to respond to any distress calls. They are best to stay in a group, otherwise they are fairly easy to pick off. Secondary weapon: A poisened dagger. Heavy infantry: These troops are equipped with thick plate armour, as well as a variety of weapons to take down anybody that may stand in their way, these weapons include: 2 handed swords, and battleaxes. THeir vulk prevents them from crossing most obstacles and they are advised to take the most direct route. Secondary weapon: A dagger. Rangers: Sentry: These troops wield a longbow, perfect for shooting enemies from a distance, they are equipped with light and durable leather with a chainmail underlay. They are best suited to sticking on walls, as they are easy targets in hand to hand combat. Secondary weapon: Knife Conventional archer: Equipped with a short bow and dragon hide armour these are the most common archers on the field, they can shoot short distances, over rivers and so forth, they are advised to accompany light infantry as they also move swiftly. Secondary weapon: Knife Tactical archer: With a crossbow in one hand and a buckler in another they are often the best ranged unit available, as they have a shield they are advised to use any throwing knives or axes the may find scattered around the battlefield. Secondary weapon: Throwing knife. Magic: Guardian (m): They wear robes that give both a magic bonus, but also a prayer bonus, their staff has long range and ok power. Secondary weapon: Mace Battle mage: These mages wear armour and robes, their magic bonus is only just positive but their defense bonus is big, their staff can be used as a effective melee weapon as well as for spell casting. Secondary weapon: None Warlock: These mages wear robes which give a huge magical bonus, although they have very very little defence, their staff is quick for spell casting and is effective, although it'd be terrible for hand to hand combat. Secondary weapon: Mace And finally, every combat type can be part of the stealth infantry: These troops are all equipped with robes with a special enchantment placed on them to take on the appearance of their background, it is placed over dragon hide for rangers or chainmail for warriors (mages just wear the robes) they only show up on their allies mini map and you can only see their outline and folds of their robes when you look at them, when they attack, their shortbow, scimitar or staff will be visible and they will show up on everybodys minimap.
  10. I think he was trying to give him some advice, and personally I don't see why you felt the need to generate a argument. You seem to have been the first person to go off topic as far as I can see, and now most of the posts since then have been argueing, I admit I'm contributing to that, but hey, I'm giving my opinion. Anyway, going back to the topic, it's a nice fake, maybe you should try having somebody attacking him, I don't know really. I'm glad Jagex's has decided to drop hints like this recently :D
  11. Perhaps Argg ate a man who's last words were argg.
  12. Perhaps Argg ate somebody and they shouted out argg. So they assumed he'd eaten somebody called argg.
  13. I normally will try to show them up if they're calling me noob or whatever for little or no reason. I hope that perhaps it makes them think that perhaps they're the ones in the wrong but I doubt it. The community is normally split in two, those that go around begging, scamming or just being rude, who often have very little experience of the game. Or you have the people who try to get on, can't understand what's happened to the community and they're often higher levelled players who have experienced the RS classic community. Unfortunatly the majority of players from miniclip (and in general) fall under the first catergory. I've found my friends list has gotten a lot shorter, normally when somebody had left the game and I came to remove them there would be another person I'd met to replace them, nowadays my list just gets shorter and shorter.
  14. You realise this topic is about your dream POH, not your ideal realistic POH. Anyway, I'd have: A d chain respawn (to high alk, if it was a rare the economy for that item would crash) A box to store stuff in, which doesn't use up bank space. A huge moat guarded by black dragons. A furnace. A solid gold anvil (just to show off).
  15. Congrats on achieving the 9,999 kills. Shame about the chest reward. At least you can say you've done it now, ask jagex to make a t-shirt for you
  16. I did the lost tribe today (only got round to doing it because I'm trying to get all the quests done), after finihsing it, I decided if Juna would let me collect some tears, she wouldn't. So, on my way back I noticed this: This had caught my attention a few times, I thought it was just a random piece of decoration, but i decided to check my book on goblin symbols (which I hadn't dropped yet) and saw this: Upon furthur exploration of the caves, I came upon a group of goblins: This screenshot suggests that they are not part of the Dorgeshuun tribe as they refer to them as, "the Dorgeshuun". So, perhaps they are part of the Yurkolgokh, who's symbols litter the caves. I suspect this may hint towards the lost tribe being part of a series, why are they also hiding in the caves? Do they too fear the wrath of the gods? Perhaps this story intertwines with the god wars. I must look for more clues to try and unravel this mystery. I'll be looking through caves populated by goblins searching for more symbols. (currently searching the caves north of ardougne)
  17. Hmm, reading the god books would be nice, but I don't thing it should involve slayer. Perhaps, there are passages written in different languages and there is some sort of mini game where you traverse runescape searching bookcase (you have to know which book your looking for so you'll have to ask a npc)
  18. Perhaps a flip page, *but* it only has some of the spells as the words have been faded. Meaning you couldnt cast teleblock as it wouldnt be there.
  19. You sir, are an idiot. Jagex have said summoning would not be a new skill, but a extension to the MAGIC skill. Honestly, get your facts straight before posting
  20. That reminds me of another drop I'd thought of, God pages 5 and 6. You would be able to preach etc even if you only had the original four, these are more of expansion pages. You can only get the benefits of having them when both are in your book, these are: Two prayers, one that leeches life, another that inflicts damage. A teleport to an area that represents your god. You could however have a 7th page for the ancient magiks, good idea :D
  21. You could use rods, as in short staffs with an orb at the ned, they could be made of metal. They could put something like this is the manual: Rods, these short staffs sacrifice magic power for speed, the short length frees up your arm and lets spell casting easier, although the metal shaft absorbs some if the magical energy it has a good melee attack bonus. These are player made, you can make the shafts from the smithing skill and create the orbs through the crafting and magic skills. I think that explains what I think on the subject, when i say players make the rods themselves, I do not mean you can get rune rod of earth or anything like that, you would makes the shafts from only one metal (probally steel or above) and then create orbs and enchant them then attach. Of course when it says, smithing and crafting they would be links to their corressponding page. I like it, but perhaps instead of giving a negative magical bonus it should give a very small positive bonus (like +2) because it's still and magical staff of sorts, with an orb, thats the main thing about the staffs that give a boost, and when you think of the boost other staffs give... Or perhaps, they're bought from the store, and you can't get elemental rods, that way, the main thing your sacrificing is the infinite runes, making them bad for training, and more of a pking object.
  22. I disagree myself, I think slayer has potential, and I also disagree with those people that believe Jagex releases skills just to keep zezima amused.
  23. That sounds like a good idea. But it would have to be nearish to a bank and be able to be solo'd. Thanks :D
  24. Ok, I think most people would agree that slayer is lacking a bit. There are really no initial rewards the bulk of the reward comes at 85 when you can obtain abbysal whips. After this though, I don't believe there are many incentives to go past 85. So, the point of this thread, is to give suggestions to make slayer: -Have more and better incentives so players will want to raise it. -More intresting. -More fun and intresting (but by no means less hard) to train. Before people start flaming about farming being worse, slayer is older, and has recieved few updates (if any) whereas farming is relativly new, Jagex will probally be thinking about adding to it right now, rather than slayer. So, my first and main point for slayer is to give it a sort of guild, well three to be exact: One in the karamja jungle, requires level 40 slayer to enter. Another in the Rellaka province, requires level 50 slayer to enter. A final one on a island nearish to Rellaka (reached by boat by the rellaka slayer guild), requires level 60 slayer to enter. Those levels are not set in stone, they are just there to give people an idea, I've done a lot of thinking, and as I'm only 42 slayer I really want other players input. Also, they wouldnt be called slayer guilds, they would be called the hunting lodges. At each lodge would be another slayer master, you can get one assignment from a ordinary slayer master and one from a hunting lodge slayer master, meaning you could take a break from one assignment while still being able to train slayer. They would not give you the normal slayer tasks, with the intoduction of the hunting lodges, new monsters would be put in the surronding areas, meaning you wouldn't need to spend much time travelling. It wouldnt be as simple as going to the area and training for an hour or whatever however, each area has a unique aspect to slayer. In the rellaka province the monsters are in a nearby woodland area. Some monsters will be very agile, so you'll need to lay down traps like leaf traps (like the ones in regicide) or snares. Whereas other will be very big, although you can just attack, it's much easier to set something like a log attack (they set off a wire and a log swings into them) or a spear wall (spear dug in the ground so the beasts will skewer themselves on them). The karamja troopical jungles will require you to track your prey, so you'll need to look for footprints, knocked over trees and the like, some sort of pet would come in handy (read on for more info). The rellaka island has very harsh, cold weather, so the hardest part will be keeping warm and alive, make sure you wrap up warm in furs and take breaks to warm up by a fire. I havn't figured out many monsters yet, so I'll post those later. But be sure that there will be some good drops from them, such as: A staff/spear combination. Looks like guthans spear but with a orb in between the top. Special attack: A stab attack, then a spell while the staff is still 'inside' them. Rusted arrows, get them id'ed by the tindel merchant. They have the same stats as the corrisponding arrows but a lower chance of getting them back. They can poisen your opponent (only hits a 3 however) and inflicts disease (lowers stats) Hunting spear, mainly a melee weapon, but can be thrown. (will either appear on the ground straight away, or after you've killed the monster) Hunters crossbow, slower than some bows, but more accurate and has a decent max hit seeing as it can use the special hunting bolts (bought from slayer masters or dropped by monsters) There will be more later. Incentives to train slayer above 85. -Some sort of professer who will repair your barrows equipment for cheaper if you can slay some kind of monster (which will of course require a level higher than 85) -A monster which needs a slayer level higher than 85 that drops either, dragon boots, dragon gauntlets, or a dragon full helm. -Some kind of item that is given to you by a slayer master for reaching 99 slayer (that can be worn and is untradable). I will definatly update this numerous times at a later date. Opinions appreciated.
  25. I agree with the chest idea. I think they should have these kind of things to organise things, the key ring was a good idea. My idea is a bookcase, you could store up to say, 10 books to a bookcase more of it was a better and stronger wood. You could store any of the books you get in the game as well as some more: Quest journal: Talk to the lumbridge guide and ask about quests to be given it. You can use it to recieve help from npc's on quests, you show a npc a passage from the book or whatever (by highlighting or whatever) and certain npc's will give you advice. Bestiary: Talk to any slayer master to get it, then when you encounter a new monster, you can use a piece of charcoal to sketch the monster, show the sketch to a slayer master to get additional information. Sketch book: Certain areas and npcs in RS be drawn, talk to some of the inhabitants to learn what areas they believe are are beautiful, then go to that area and use charcoal with your book, if you are not in a good position it will display the message,'you can't get a good view from here'. Also, if you want to sketch a npc you can ask, only certain npc's will have this option however. The sketch book uses the crafting level, so what you can do depends on your crafting level, also you will recieve crafting exp for drawing. Scrap book: A simple drawing program, just in case you have nothing to do during farming etc. Note book: You can write short messages in here, you get the option to, 'tear out page' you can put these in pidgeon holders (on other people's POH's) or nail to your front door to tell people your not in etc. Diary: Upon obtaining this, every time you obtain a skill you will have the option to write in your diary, you have to be carrying it, although you can replace it with the quest journal button. You can also type in any other events. Atlas: A map of the world and other areas, you can plan routes on this (you can draw simple lines on it) and mark locations (an arrow will appear on your min map whilst the atlas is in your journal) Manual: The runescape manual, a copy of the one on the homepage, this means you don't need to open a new window to view. Big book of RS history: Displays information collected from your travels, means you can brush up on your runescape history easily (only history your character has heard since obtaining will be displayed) The big book of RS dietys: Tells you all about the runescape gods known to exist, you'll have to update it yourself however. Contact book: Lets you record all the people you don't have space to save in your friends list, you cant PM them over this however, although you can type in a name a send a message that will be deleivered to their POH (if they have one) That's all I can think of for now. Good thread :D
