His droprate is irrelevant. I got a dragonstone drop from Graardor the other day, I'm quite sure I've never seen one of those before so must be a 'rare' drop? I don't think that in Jagex's terms, rare equals expensive.

Or camp and take advantage of the level you've worked hard for, getting a whip drop every few hours and a decent charm rate for the experience you get. It's around 70k xp an hour for melee, with a whip every 250-300k xp and 35 crimson charms per hour. Spiritual mages are better profit wise and offer a slightly better experience rate, but do not drop any charms.
