  1. My brother won't give blood either. He's too scared. That sucks, KC. :( They actually referred a guy to a doctor today because he had an extremely high blood pressure.
  2. I've broken a rib and a toe. I curse like a sailor. I like cooking. ^_^ I LOVE cute things... :P I sleep too much. My nickname is Kay-Kay. I like to race people. And that's all I can think of for now. ^_^

Well occasionally, Life Blood comes to our school and accepts people (staff and students) who want to give blood to do so as long as they are healthy and 17 years of age or over. I've always wanted to donate blood, because I think that everyone who is reasonably healthy should, so when I first heard about Life Blood coming last Friday, I immediately went to the office and signed up. Plus, I've just turned 17 (last November). So, today around 10:00, I went out to the Life Blood RV to give blood. Basically, for anyone who hasn't seen it, it's a large vehicle fully equipped with blood testing machines, and everything else needed to give blood in a hospital. I was there for about half an hour, answering questions about my health, and the other regular stuff. I didn't even realized that they had [puncture]ed my finger while I was answering the questions until the woman put a band-aid on it and took my blood sample to test for iron deficiency and blood diseases. Then, they tried to situate me in one of the comfy donor chairs. There were four of them, lined up along the walls of the RV. They gave me a chair for donors that were donating from their right arm and couldn't find a suitable vein there, so I had to wait until a left-arm donor got up. After that, it took 2 nurses to find my vein. :P Then, they wiped it clean with sterilizing fluid and stuck the needle in. I have to say it was pretty painful because once the woman got the needle in my arm, she couldn't find the vein and had to move it around a bit. #-o After ten minutes, and just when the woman was telling me that I was almost finished, I started to feel a bit light-headed. It got worse as she started pulling the tubes and needle from my arm, and I didn't even feel her remove the needle. She told me to try and get up slowly and as I did, I just blacked out. I came to with her slapping my face, asking me my name, and stuffing an ice pack on the back of my neck. She put another one on my forehead and my arm. Needless to say, I kinda freaked out some of the other donors and they were all worried for me. They kept me there for awhile, making me drink some water and relax. I have to say that they were very caring. ^_^ So, after I started feeling a bit better, they allowed me to go back to class with a new T-shirt and some chocolate chip cookies. ^_^ I felt light-headed for the rest of the day, but I feel much better now. Right now, the only thing that's sore is where they [puncture]ed my left middle finger. My arm is a bit bruised and hurt when I took the bandage off. But, it's fine now. ^_^ Overall, I'd have to say that my first time giving blood was truly an experience and I think that next time Life Blood comes to my school, I'll give blood again. Hopefully, I won't faint next time. :P I have great respect for people who donate blood. Even those who want to, but can't. I was very glad today to see that the Life Blood RV was completely packed with willing people. So, my question to you guys is of course, have you ever given blood? Can you give blood? What was your experience like? If you're not of age yet, do you think you'll donate blood when you get old enough?
  4. Well, I had the same experience Viktor had. I nearly drowned in a swimming pool. I was saved by my dad though. My life flashed in front of my eyes and it was actually awhile until I woke up. I don't remember seeing a light... I just remember seeing a lot of my memories.
  5. Don't stress about it. I remember as a Freshmen, I stressed about mine. But, you don't care after awhile. :D
  6. ^_^ I agree with you about moderation. Though I tend to be a pessimist sometimes. :( Another philosophy of mine is to treat everyone with respect, as though you were talking to someone in your own family. Be nice and considerate to others unless you feel they have done something to take away that privilege. Always be loyal to those close to you, and stand up for what you believe in. Try to find good in every situation.
  7. The only time I buy bottled water is from the drink machine at our school (and that's if there's nothing else in there and I'm thirsty. :P) and it has a really good freezer in it... so it freezes the water really fast and makes it lovely to drink. ^_^ Yummy! Warm or room temperature bottled water is nasty...It's like drinking plastic! :-X Yes! Yes it is! I've always been looking for a way to describe that taste and feeling... You have helped me out, sir! :D

  9. That's one good thing about where I live. The water is great. Not too hard, not too soft. Great to take a shower in, and great to drink! So, I drink tap water.

  15. There have been a few stabbings at my school. One at a school I used to go to. It's no surprise to me that there are kids stabbing each other, but it certainly is very sad to hear of a death. :(
  16. My boyfriend and my friends. They mean the world to me. It's upset me recently because quite a few of my friends have disappointed me.
  17. I have an INSANE English teacher. Really. She's crazy. She hates me because she never gives clear directions on what to do, so I help some of the other people in my class. She gets mad at me for helping because "I'm not the teacher." One time, she had surgery and took too many painkillers. She came in and laid down on her desk. "I feel sooooo tiiiiiiired todaaaaaay.... This feeels bettteeerrr..."
  18. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! ^_^ Hope you've had a good one!
  19. Well, I've dissected a clam, a starfish, a crawfish, a grasshopper, a worm, and a few frogs. Can't wait until next year to dissect the fetal pig! :D I hope to be dissecting humans in medical school someday too.
  20. Banjo Kazooie was a great game as well!

:( Like others have said, you should attend the funeral. It may help you get over his death.

I'm very very good at memorizing things. I had a 100 question vocabulary semester test to do in Speech for my final grade. I read over the vocabulary words five minutes before the test and made a 100 on it. :D Didn't even miss a single question. About six months ago, my boyfriend was playing Geist and he told me to remember the keypad codes for one of the doors, and I still remember it. I'll ask him from time to time if he still remembers it.
  23. No don't! You will fall in love with it! You must avoid it at all costs! Nah, just kidding, go make one and get addicted. : Btw, they make for a great late night snack, they are quick and easy to make, and also, if you put on loads of peanut butter and bananas, can be quite filling. I think that it would be pwnz if I toasted the bread first. O.O It just sounds like it would be good that way. I'm going to go get bananas and peanut butter tomorrow. :D
