  1. It's the fact that these "noobs" train summoning to boost thier combat levels and then proceed to act like they're more superior to others. If they trained summoning from combat 118-124 they are no more stronger then they where before so I don't know why they use it as an ego booster. That's what turns me off from the skill.
  2. What's this new slayer helmet I've been hearing about? Is it from this quest or smoking kills?
  3. How can you predict they'll top at 650k if they're selling for 800k w/ Junk trades? #-o
  4. It doesn't increase you're respect, maturity, game intelligence, niceness, honesty, or any other genuine traits that you see from legitimate high levels that have determination and can actually comprehend these people/social skills Uhm, thats like saying "Not training smithing in your overall level makes you increase you're respect, maturity, game intelligence, niceness, honesty, or any other genuine traits "... I have 3 things to say to that. 1) Levels have nothing to do with how a person acts. I've seen people PC their levels to have high combat stats and low overall, and they are some of the nicest people I've ever met. While I've seen people train their stats on monsters and range the "old" way, and being total jerks all the time. Levels have nothing to do with it at all. 2) And not trying to flame you, but you said "increase you're...game intelligence..". Correct me if im wrong, but your saying, by training a skill, we are learning less about the game? Wouldnt you learn more about a game by training another skill because its expanding your skill base. Sounds like your just unhappy that summon messes up your "perfect combat". 3) I personaly, do not BH, so combat matters little to me. I think summoning is a wonderful addition into the game, because it adds a little fun and exciement. Also, when your killing and training, its nice to know you have a little helper around to keep you company and help you out when needed. Sadly people like you cannot see this as you are only focus on a level number and the whole "having awsome stats for a low combat level" concept. You dont have to personaly to train the skill, but calling people who train summoning "un-mature, un-intelligent, not honest, ect.." sounds childish to me. Hate to burst your bubble, but there are alot people who play runescape who dont care about combat levels. Just because someone has 60 summoning, attack, strength, and defence, dosent mean they are any less of a player than someone who has 80 attack and strength. The same is also true for the opposite way around. Dont judge people on their combat level, or what levels they chose to train. Back on topic: Summoning is the main reason for the combat increase, espeically since alot of people gain a few levels just to try it out, or get some of the cool famliars. Espeically the terrorbird, which is a great addition to training alot of other skills. I'm willing to admit, I did only read half of your post, so this is aimed only at the top half. I think you're looking at this the wrong. The way a person acts and treats other people is solely up to the individual. Yes there is both sides to what I was saying (Aka low leveled nice guys and high level jerks) but what you need to realize is that for a long while, people held high levels in high places. Why? Because they were the determined ones, they were the ones that stuck around long enough to achieve something and took pride in it. A lot of what you see now is low levelers using their summoning to gain combat levels to have a sense of superiority over other players because they are "more powerful" when in reality, they're not that much more powerful then they were before. As for the game knowledge aspect, you're right, and you're wrong. Yes they are learning something about the game by exploring other skills, but they're learning less about the game because they can spend less time to gain something of high standards and "greatness". If they trained the old way, they'd spend more time in game, more time exploring areas, more time collecting items, more time using these items to raise skills etc. etc. Where as now if they use summoning to get a few extra levels so they can go plunder God Wars Dungeon, they may completely ignore other aspects of the game and focus solely on the most desirable things in the game: Power and Wealth.
  5. Aww don't say that :( Hopefully you guys will like it more once we get a few more forum skins up and running!! NEW SKINS! NEW SKINS! I think I'm missing the old skin the most out of everything. Change is always hard :geek:
  6. It doesn't increase you're respect, maturity, game intelligence, niceness, honesty, or any other genuine traits that you see from legitimate high levels that have determination and can actually comprehend these people/social skills
  7. Game on fellas, game on! I'll be watching while I hunt. So you'll have to get crafty
  8. OMGWTFBBQ?! Oh Hay, it's Me Made0f12une. And Guess what, I'm back! And I have a mission to accomplish My Unfinished Goal! Now you may be asking yourself "What's that made0f12une? I didn't know you had a goal in the first place." Well I did, and I left it uncompleted when I retired back in August '07. Well Now I'm back to tackle this beast of a goal.Oh right you want to know what the goal actually is. I'll give it to you clean cut, without any extra beef: I desire a certain cape. It's not very colorful, considering it's brown, like the fur which it was probably made from. Have you guessed what it is yet? No? Alright, alright I'll tell you. I'm here to finish my goal of 99 hunter! I'm going to need a lot of support, and it's fun to see how many people can keep me going on such a long and tedious job. Lets all pray that the holy Chin. prices don't fall through the floor by the time I'm finished! Now before I actually get on the actual blog I'll let you know that I always, ALWAYS welcome messages; feel free to drop me a HYT. I'll also have my binoculars out for all you "Spot a Tifer" hunters! NOW ON TO THE BLOG! Daily Updates: June 9th, Day 1 of Hunting: I've grabbed my trusty larupia gear and purchased 10 new box traps. Equiped with music and my loyal friends, I venture into the jungle. Shall I ever return? June 11th, Day 2 of Hunting: I spent some time looking for a spot. It amazes me how much the popularity of hunting has increased since I left. It's near impossiable to find a spot with only one person, let alone a completely empty one. I hopped on to world 2 and a fellow hunter kindly told me that he was departing soon. I stuck around for awhile, chatted it up, and claimed a spot. From then on forward I hunted alongside someone else, and we exchanged quick jokes and comments back and forth. As much as I dislike sharing a spot I must say it is nice to have someone to talk to. I started at roughly 310k and chiseled my way down to 70k xp before I called it a night. Almost level 84! Then 15 long more levels till my goal is complete. June 13th, Day 3 of Hunting: Huzzuh, the 3 day hump, I've crossed it and still hunting. It wasn't hard to find a world this afternoon, even at peak hours. I popped onto the German worlds and took a peek to see how conditions were. In the more popular world, 140, which had about 1.2k players on at the time I found a spot with one person who nicely welcomed me and allowed me to hunt alongside him. I hunted for about 10 minutes or so (not much I know) before I deemed myself too tired to hunt effectively and took my afternoon nap. Yes I take daily afternoon naps, got beef? When I awoke the world I was on earlier now had 2 hunters, so I checked 147 and found the spot empty. I set up my traps and away I went. I was greeted by a fellow hunter about an hour into my trip, who hunted for some time before leaving, and left the spot all to myself once again. I finally got 84 hunting, and decided to take a break so I ended up here, updating my blog. Other then this wonderful story, I don't have much else to offer you. BESIDES PICTURES! June 19th, Day 6 of Hunting Yes I know you all missed Days 4 and 5 but I've been busy. From being struck by lightning to dealing with computer issues, I still found time to get some hunting in. I've managed Catch over 2.5k chins the past 3 days. It's not where I'd like to be, but I certainly can't complain. I did get level 85 hunter but absentmindedly missed the level. Sorry folks! I'll try and be consistent with daily updates so you guys have something fun to read and look at. If I get off my lazy rear at the end of the day and hop on here real quick before bed I don't think I'll run in to too many problems. I'm gravely disapointed that my computer decided to eat my CPU and 2 HDD's now.. I'm not sure I'll be able to test the full screen version of the game on release :( June 22nd, Day 9 of hunting Last night I did a it of extended hunting. I really can't call it extended as I failed to meet quota and only caught 640 chins. I need 768 a day to have 99 before August, and I'm aiming for at least 1k a day. I managed to make up for last time this morning and caught 1.2k chins. Now I'm off into the jungle to catch the rest. It may not be the most interesting blog so I'll try and spice it up a bit. I'm going to try and persuade some of you to actually read my blog? Why because it's fun to read! Whys that you're thinking? Well because you can enjoy my mindless ranting. Of course if you're not into mindless ranting, then stop ignoring the post button and leave a reply. Besides reading about my daily chin updates, what do you guys want to read about? Give me a little feedback and I'll throw it into my semi-daily updates so you all have something run to read, and then you can comment on it afterward. Keep this blog thriving, I can't keep it alive myself, you guys need to help me put life into it. June 30th, Day 14 of hunting - Well Well Well, here we are at the two weeks date. I've caught 8.8k Chins, made a whopping 6.8m (or so) And have reached level 90 Hunter. I will admit I have been no-lifing a bit considering I spent all day catching 2k chins yesterday :geek: I really just want that cape! Well now that I'm on the home stretch I think I'll work harder then ever. I sill have a good 30k chins I have to catch before I reach the glorious 99! Well keep wishing me luck, and look out for the pictures! I don't have many, but I do have some. Stats and Achivements: First Level, one down, 15 more to go I do have a picture of 87 and 89 that I need to post, but here's level 90 anyway :] Various Other Goals: 74/80 Attack 73/80 Strength 72/80 Defense 48/70 Prayer P.S. I also collect Str pots. If you have any unused str pots whether they be from randoms, questing, or herblore, send them my way! It doesn't matter what dose! (For large quantities I'll swap them for vails!) I'm just here to have fun!
  9. The Half Decade war was freaking amazing, and props to whoever posted those Zybez movies. I had also seen all of those lol. Good memories
  10. Oh Adam, you truly are the best =D> Time to save it to my computer lol. That truly was an amazing movie/trailer for it's time
  11. I'm not sure if anyone here remembers this but there once was a Runescape [classic] movie that was around google in oh say 2003-2004. It featured a lot of edited items, and was very well put together. It had people riding on horses, differnt armor, differnt combat styles, etc. If anyone can find this, screenshots or the movie, much would be appreciated. Post here or e-mail it to me. Either way. ~Thanks a ton.
  12. I kinda think so too . I just think its funny how they turn the updates into a creative hoilday runescape poem, and just wanted to share it with the tip.it community. It defainatly was interesting and very well done :)
  13. Yes they may have done a good job riding Runescape of RWT and Botting, but they did ruin a lot of aspects that made Runescape what it was.
  14. This isn't a rant... #-o
  15. 5 years... sigh February will mark my 6th. I'm glad I got out 4 months ago when I did. Went out at the peak times, and with a bang.
  16. There's a sticky? Oh well I suppose. It's nice to see everyone, but sadly I'm not staying. I'll probably read replies and responde for the next day or so, then move back on to other things. The 4 months since I quit seems so much longer then it really is.

    Checking in

I hope this doesn't get deleted... Wow I feel like such a stranger now, this is my calling card to my buddies. How are you all doing? I thought I'd stop in and say hello to you all and wish you luck in your scaping career. I must've quit at it's peak because recently Runescape has been taking one blow after another. Maybe it's for the best, I don't know, it just seems to me that they're going to be plagued with even more whiny kids soon enough because the challenge is now gone. They're dumbing down the game, eliminating risks, and getting rid of everything that use to be "Runescape" It's like a ghost town now, a hollow village, a barren wasteland. I'm too afraid to step foot in game anymore it's changed so much. It was a great experience playing with all of you but I'm glad I left it behind. Like many it took over my life and overwhelmed me with it's greatness. IT WAS UNSTOPPABLE. But eh, I've moved on to better things. I frequently play on RSC underground servers, brings back the memories. It's great to see what the game was actually like. RS2 shouldn't even be linked with the orginal RSC it's so differnt now. Not to mention they're ruining the game IMMENSELY. Oh, on the subject, what's this I hear about MechScape? Jagex's secret underground project? Even if the rumors are true it's going to be a bust. There's no way that their entire RS userbase is going to move to a fantasy. future, scifi, robot based game. And if they pull the same move they did on RSC, their franchise, their fortune, their empire, will come crumbling down in front of their eyes. I hate to say it but Jagex is a has been. If current trends continue you're going to run around Runescape in a plastic bubble. "You've attacked 15 monsters in 2 minutes, please wait 10 minutes to attack again" "You've reached your limit of 3k xp in 15 minutes, please wait an hour before training again" "You can not attack that for it's 2 levels higher then your combat. Please go back to training" I mean honestly. They're putting restrictions on EVERYTHING. It's insane, WALL HERE, BARRIER THERE! BRING ON THE BABIES! I'm sorry, I just had to express my opinions and say hello to my friends. I hope you all are doing great. Much love, hope you all do amazing in the real world. Best wishes and happy holidays to all. ~Nick
  18. Played rs2 for awhile Quit Got a job, a life, the works. I still lurk in the shadows of Tip.it. Moved on to more advanced gaming xD Like TF2 :anxious:
  19. I lurk the forums if anyone cares February will mark my 6th year on Runescape.
  20. I also have a real world example for this. You'll have the good cops in the world that do their part, help out, try to do their job correctly Then you'll have the bad cops that litter, turn their sirens on to get somewhere faster, tail you at 12'oclock at night because they're bored and they're waiting for you to make a mistake so they have something to do. The same thing applies with mods :)
  21. Surely there is loads to be improved and there is not nearly enough pmods to deal with these unruly players. Honestly, I wish I saw more pmods in f2p. F2p is a breeding ground for reports.
