You'll probably get an overall more hits when using a scimitar, so I would use that. It would probably provide better experience and you can have a better defense when you use the shield.

I doubt this because this has to be an event open to all levels. Even if they change the levels accordingly, they've never don't anything combat during holiday mini-quests.

Similar, but your character wield both his/her sword and bow in his/her right hand. Bows are supposed be held by the opposite hand and all characters in Runescape are righties..

I'm not sure if you're the right level, but maybe if you're high enough, find a team to either go Dagonoth Killing or Kalphite Queen Killing. If your level's not high enough, try maging iron dragons, but make sure you bring an anti-fire shield. I'm guessing that you're p2p :P That's all I can think of atm. :|

If you plan on training your defense up, then I suggest you go with the 2h. Otherwise, buy the scimmy. The scimmy is the better of the two imo.

Buy a couple nats and high alch everything all your bows. Then buy the material you made from high alching? :D After that, repeat and keep doing it until you get 99 fletching or until you have soooo much money you give up fletching. :XD:
