Level 3 clues was my quick money maker for awhile, backhand a few hellhounds, grab a clue and run. Go back and do another. Used to do 3 a night or so. As soon as Lunar magics was released, I (a non pker and solo player) decided that a group pkers consisting of of high lunar, ancients and reg magic could be quite troublesome. Not worth the annoyance, and I have since gotten different money makers. They can have the wildy, since I train and do everything alone, not worth the risk anymore. I used to bury a few wannabe pkers when they had the audacity to bother me when I was clue digging, or give them a taste of ice barrage and watch them scatter. But now? not worth the risk IMHO.

Interesting concept. I chose melee, of course, like you stated, cheap, easy and powerful. Raised Mage next because I got tired of annoying little pkers bothering me when I was doing clues, so I quickly raised it to 94 for ice barrage, which does wonders when used with DD++ spec to bury a few wannabes. Quickly was said in complete jest, as it was anything but fun to fletch and alch that many bows...but it got the job done. Range...worthless IMHO, I raised that only because I got tired of having a low combat stat, and getting smack about it from other high levels. SO even though it is a extremely weak, and boring skill, I pecked a little at it now and then. meh. :uhh: Prayer beast? that just kind of goes hand in hand with melee, IMO. I prefer melee of course, especially when training, 1-3 hits with melee or 1-3 minutes plucking a crystal bow...you do the math :XD: :ohnoes: :XD:

Tried 3 times when it was released; died first time at 360s, lagged out the next two times at 360s. Said heck with it, and never went back. Was 124 when I attempted, with my pitiful range level. meh, never understood the attraction to range. Melee, kill with one to three hits, or spend one to three minutes plucking a bow...same kill, you decide :)

Keep it in the bank, I made one of each, and thought I had to wear them to enter the altars. silly me, it took someone to tell me that you dont have to wear them for me to figure it out. So I ran to the abyss without it once to try, and guess what? you dont need them on :XD:

I have only played a short time (21 months) and crawled my way a click at a time to 124 combat the hard way. When I made 100 in under 4 months...easy day.....when I made 123 in 12 months....no sweat, made 124 in 14 months...now that was a pain, lot of bone ectoing. About this time PC came out, and there was like 200ish 126s and 600 124+ in the game. I admit it, I jumped on the PC wagon and got the 5 prayer levs I needed for 125 combat in a month. WOW!, now that was sickeningly easy. But then I noticed that the amount of 124+s in the high scores had doubled. omg.....when I made 123 in a year playing, there was maybe a "high-level" in the edge bank, now there we are standing 6 deep at each teller window.....kinda lessens the thrill of making it.

sick stats wakka, my hat is off to you. On topic: well to be honest, my chat stays in one position 99.99% of the time, and that is off. I hate when I turn it on to establish contact from someone I replied to in forums for a trade and get barraged with numerous "omg lord krohn where ya been" pms...and I feel bad because I have a lot of good friends that I have met through my short time playing RS, the problem for me is not that I dont want to talk to them, but that I am a 3 finger typer. I use the left forefinger, and right forefinger and middle finger to type. Makes it impossible to bang the keys fast enough while I am trying to talk to a trader and 14 PMs at the same time. Same goes for training, I dont hang out in fally and shoot the breeze. Neither do I fish often (havent for over a year of my 1.9 year play time) so I am usually training, again the challenge, I have almost died several times trying to type while staring at the key board, look up as I am getting my rearend handed to me by the big ugly beast I am training on. Thus I have sadly just kept my chat off. :(

rofl, wow you are completely nuts :XD: My hat is off to you, and to think I go scurrying by with a ring of life, nekkid cept for light boots and sacks of essence, and died three times doing so by a spineless high level who got his or her kicks by killing a 125 runecrafting unarmed hehe. oh really? Well I never had the pleasure of playing RSC, but that doesnt make me any less of a gamer. Oh by the way, I made 124 BEFORE PC was released by killing trolls and training slayer to 85. Made 100 combat in under 4 months BTW, and 123 in 12 months. Not a major feat really, it can be done much faster if all one trains is combat. But nice to read your inspiring and all knowing reply. If you want some training advice, let me know and maybe this "RS2 product" can give you a clue on how to train and utilize time management absolutely free. :XD:

This interests me; the culture of RS is comical sometimes. If Timmy stated playing RS back in 2001 and plays like 2-5 hours a week and has amassed 9 million exp points, combat 64 and has a pair of bunny ears...he is an old timer and has massive amounts of experience in the game and realms of RS knowledge. :roll: (in reality they just have more history experience if they dont have much total exp points) If a player such as myself, has played for 21 months, amassed 110+ million exp points, thus TONS more play time within the game, and TONS more actual knowledge, I get classified as a RS2 product.....hehe, and I heard a new one the other day, PC Products. :roll: :XD: :XD: (of course I have decent game experience, but no knowledge of the history) I respect all players, regardless if you are a level 3 skiller, or a 126 combat jockey, played 5 months or 5 years. It is how you act that determines how I view you. So anyway, my question to all of my fellow scapers is this: How long have you played? I started Dec 2004, and stopped playing 1Oct06 due to being deployed to Iraq until middle of this year (2007). (cant download game onto government computers, but can access fan sites...sigh...go figure) Your levels are irrelative, higher doesnt make you any better of a person or player, just someone who liked to build particular stats while enjoying YOUR game, as it should be :) Edit: Well I really didn't make this for a "POLL", but I am bored, and it got more life then I thought the thread would, so I'll try to keep up. I had wrist surgery and was in a cast, on percocet when I first started playing RS. This is the reason I started playing it, was bored to tears, and stuck home on medical leave for 2 weeks. Holding the mouse was easy, but staring at the screen with blurry vision made playing all the more fun rofl.

hehe yeah I have done more then my share of brain farts, like walking all the way through the wildy to do a clue, heart pounding, looking out for white dots, get to the spot and figure out you forgot your spade...rofl. ...or another of my favs, going to khramja to the dragon dungeon, pay the guy and go inside and figure out that you forgot your axe to cut through the vines...rofl, omg I have done that like 5 times... :mrgreen:

(this happened a year ago, but still kinda funny) Well I was like 123 combat or so, I had just spent a month woodcutting and fletching *shudders* and decided to go click a bit at my slacking slayer level, so I grabbed the blue gem out of the bank, blew the dust off of it. rubbed it and found out that when I had stopped slaying last, I was doing abbysal demons and had 47 to go on this assignment. Sweet, cause they are pushovers, so I grabbed my dharoks, whip and some cakes (easy to keep your hp hovering at 21 with, I keep it there because I always wear a ring of life, due to an early death here from a lag while at 11 hp) grab my earmuffs and enjoy my scenic walk as I swaggered to the house of slayer. Well I was flicking my eyes back and forth from the TV to the computer, donned my earmuffs and clicking my way up the rope to the floor right below the abbies, walk calmly around the corner "WHAM!"......huh? I look over from the TV dumbfounded at the sound..."WHAM.....WHAM! OMG, why aren't my earmuffs working? "WHAM!" I am getting owned by the green gobs of death as they whip balls of ick at me!...I scramble for the stairs and make it to the next floor with 8hp left......oh wonderful....then my brain thawed from it's frozen state and the dim lightbulb in my head illuminated....you stupid ####! it's nose peg, nosepeg that you wear! Not earmuffs...I looked around fervently hoping no one saw the big bad 123 almost die due to something this stupid. For some reason banging the keyboard and swearing does nothing to raise my stats back up so I can tele and rewalk my dumb ( i ) back to the house. So I eat cakes til I feel like a piggy, and waddle my butt back down and scurry for the rope...yup you guessed it "WHAM, WHAM WHAM!", and I am back down to the ground floor...with like 23 hp......took a nice slow stroll to the bank while ridiculing myself all the way. Funny now looking back, but at the time I was furious with myself, more embarassed then anything else. How about you? Whats the dumb thing you did while your brain was "frozen"? EDIT: Just remembered my all time best blunder; I was pcing 5 prayer levs to get to 125, having tired of dumping millions into bones. I made 4k vials of unidentified nitro, donned my dharoks and ran to pc. The routine was, board boat, drop 3 vials to lower hp, go into game, click strength prayer and own portys quik and hard. was quite impressed with myself, well anyway, couple days of this, it got to be reflex. Board boat, drop three unid nitros, go into game. Well i got a realllllllllly long lag, and when you lag, you get kicked out of the game and back onto the pier. So....(yup you can see it coming can't you?) I jump on board, drop a vial...oooooooooooooh this is a pretty town. As I run screaming to the bank and run like a fat man after a cupcake to get back to PC. Iarrive just in time to hear everybody laughing about the dumb 124 who died on the boat. With over 300k in GP (wasnt banking in between, its all about timely runs) dropped a nice whip, berserker ring, rune boots, dharok helm etc. I made someones day, so off to the forums I went, purchased what I had lost (except ring, they were hard to come by then) and back to PC I went. Sigh So anyone top that? :XD:

hmmmmm well since I absolutely hate herblore, thieving, agility It would have to be one of those....so slow and annoying to level in those. For me anyway.

Every single lamp I have ever gotten went to prayer. Now in hindsight, I should have put them all on herblore. :wall:

well.......hmmmmmm Getting my first 99 (strength) busting combat 100 in under 4 months busting combat 123 in under 12 months busting 100 million total exp first dragon drop ...and since I am not a pker, I was in the wildy doing a clue, and two wannabes jumped me in multi combat area, a mage and a ranger. Silly little things, a combat 98 mage and a 103 ranger I think it was. They had some big furry dice to bother me doing a clue, so I slapped them with an ice barrage, dds spec'd the mage dead in two specs, and chased the ranger as he screamed "please don't".......um ...er...please don't? you have got to be kidding me. What a pansie pker....but being the nice guy I am, I let him go and went to kick around the pile his buddy left for me. Then did my clue....was kind of a rush. Maybe I should try that pking thing sometime....nah.

I had a few popular threads that had over 1k viewers and hundreds of replies. One was "made combat 100 in under 4 months", the other was "made combat 123 in 12 months". Both were popular, many haters flamed, but I was still fortunate enough to meet quite a few nice players who were extremely supportive. Kind of neat when I stroll into a bank or training area and out of the blue someone goes, "hey, your that made 123 in 12 months guy right?"....which leads into some nice banter while we wack trees or backhand abbysal demons. :) Famous? nah, but neat to have someone recognize you once in awhile.

Highest is Strength, havent played since being deployed in Oct06, but it was ranked 298. dropped I am sure, but I cant open up runescape on a government computer. Lowest is farming...its got to be on the very bottom somewhere. I did it all with tears of guthix or whatever that mini game is called. Never planted a thing rofl.

81; I keep 27 for teleing when rcing, ectoing or other convenient spots where glory is nice to use, and the other 27 I trade my RL wife for the other 27 I gave her that are now uncharged. Since she is a slacker and hasn't done the quest to be able to charge her own, I do it for her when she uses them up....and no I dont and never have pked or dueled. I traded stones, runes and a bar of gold for them from a high crafter friend, and bought the others. Love the convenience they bring.
