  1. Allow me to enlighten you on this subject. The general has nothing to apologize for, that is the military's stance on this subject. Don't ask, Don't tell means you can not commit a homosexual act, or disclose homosexual tendencies while serving in the military, and the military is not allowed to go on a "witch hunt" to oust alleged homosexuals. Now let me give you some real world examples that I have dealt with in the last 8 months. One of my sailors ( I am a senior Chief in the US Navy on board a super carrier deployed in Iraq area) was arrested by Virginia police for solicitation of prostitution from a male undercover officer posing as a male prostitute...the sailor was male also. He was found guilty in a civilian court of law. Upon finding this out, I went to our Legal department and said "hey, this is clearly telling" obviously he is homosexual.....the Legal department and Navy Judge told me "we don't pursue those types of cases"....oh really. Lucky for me, in 2004 they also passed a Zero Tolerance to human trafficking law in the military, this means if you get caught soliciting or prostituting, you get discharged. I turned that information over to Legal, and they flew him off the ship for Special Court Martial for the charges of "soliciting of prostitution" and "conspiracy to commit a deviant sex act"....he might get prison time. good. Another of my sailors was arrested crossdressing and prostituting..he was brand new to the navy, hadn't been on board our ship 3 days....Goodbye, same law applied (zero tolerance) he deserted before we could prosecute him, he was arrested 4 months later in another state for crossdressing and prostitution....sick. A friend of the family reported to me that she had seen a myspace page profile with a navy sailor off of the ship next to mine, who clearly stated under preference: Gay and proud. I notified his Captain and Command Master Chief....a week later his profile changed to preference: undecided. That is all that happened, they told him to change it, no further prosecution happened. So in reality it is not "Don't ask, don't tell", but rather just dont "ask", they can tell all they want, the Navy doesn't want to prosecute it unless they get arrested for it....and they don't go looking for it. There are several guys and girls on my ship (which has over 5,000 sailors on it) that are clearly of the "alternate" lifestyle....no one cares, no one says anything to them, if you do, YOU get prosecuted for creating a hostile work environment...nothing happens to them. Thats in the don't ask, dont tell policy.
  2. You can say the same about alcoholics and people with gambling problems. You can say the same about anyone who has an addiction that can only be sustained with money they no longer have. That "selective presentation" as you call it is FACTUAL.....no, you can not say the same about other addicts.....the study of criminal statistics show that over 80% of all violent crime in the US is drug related ....does that number sink into your brain? over 80%...you don't see gamblers going on violent killing sprees in Las Vegas, the gambling capital of the world Thats an unfair comparison and Ill try to explain why. The illegal narcotics trade is a multi-billion dollar industry that is effectively monopolised by organised crime groups, since the industry is such a huge earner for criminals there is going to be side effects such as gang violence & robbery. Now if this trade was made legal (I'm not advocating that it should be but I'm playing Devils Advocate here) it would be under strict legislation that would essentially take the money away from the criminals much in the same way as when prohibition being repealed took the alcohol trade away from criminals. The gangs who are killing each other over the drugs trade do so because of the money thats involved, the fact that the money comes from drugs is incidental - they used to kill each other over booze during prohibition. Gambling on the other hand is legal in certain areas of USA and is under strict legislation. This means large corporations can control the industry which keeps the money away from criminals and it creates a safe and controlled enviroment for gamblers. Gambling, in states where it is banned is controlled by criminals. What I'm saying is that any industry that has a sufficient demand & is made illegal will inevitably be controlled by organised crime. Basically all they're doing is filling a demand however, it does have its consequenses. Legalizing it will not fix the problem. Do you think the multi billion dollar illegal drug trade "industry" will just pack up their bags and go home....relax in retirement? Nope, the drug trade will still flow, the only thing would change is the price would drop, they would undercut the "government taxed drug"...and the broke druggies would flock to the lowest supplier...crime would continue...nothing would change. Along with that, the druggies would still perpetrate crime as they still can not hold a job, and must do what they got to do to fill an ever rising need. Columbian drug lords (country whose main export is drugs) would not stop producing, and there is no way the US government would enter into trade agreement with them as a supplier of the "legalized taxed drug" trade as they are murderous thugs who have terrorized families in columbia for generations. Sounds like a great idea to the potheads to legalize it, and in fact they have gotten somewhat of a victory in California by having "pot stores" for "medical purposes"...where the latest gimmick is you pay a doctor $50-$150 for a prescription for your "headaches" and off you go to the store to purchase your legal pot......got to love that crap....but then again, that is california where most of the population is made up of secular progressives who are bound and determined to take the country down with them. Be interesting to see how far that goes.
  3. You can say the same about alcoholics and people with gambling problems. You can say the same about anyone who has an addiction that can only be sustained with money they no longer have. That "selective presentation" as you call it is FACTUAL.....no, you can not say the same about other addicts.....the study of criminal statistics show that over 80% of all violent crime in the US is drug related ....does that number sink into your brain? over 80%...you don't see gamblers going on violent killing sprees in Las Vegas, the gambling capital of the world....you don't see winos beating 101 yo ladies for $33 so they can get another bottle of red....you dont see a beer gutted fat guy shooting someone over a beer sale gone bad....*backhands* wake up and smell the coffee princess....drug addiction will make you do ANYTHING, they will steal their sick grandma's last $10 for a rock.....I have seen it time and again, I have arrested many, I have walked the halls of a crackhouse, I have stared into the uncomprehending eyes of stupid people who live for one thing...their next high, and they don't care how they get it, or who they hurt to get it...and it all starts with that first "innocent" experimentation with drugs. My first arrest was a 19 yo black woman who tried to sell her 18 month old baby girl for $50 so she could get high...you don't see gamblers and drunks doing that..ONLY stupid druggies. Does that mean all who try it become zombie murderers? of course not, but look at the statistics, you can't argue with facts. Wake up
  4. sigh Don't believe the hype...little druggies have been peddling this crap for a long time...."it's just weed, it doesn't hurt you"...."legalize weed and drug related crime will stop".."it's cool"...etc etc....garbage, get out of the bubble you live in and get out into the street and learn about the real world. The pot heads think it doesn't hurt them...really? go back 5 years later and talk to Mr "cool" again...it's like talking to a zombie. I have and it is an enlightening experience. Druggies have a hard time holding down a job for very long....they live from high to high, and unfortunately it is a endless journey because the body never gets the same sensation from the same amount of drugs...it takes more and more as it gets used to it, then eventually mary jane isn't doing the trick, and you crossover to "real" drugs.....ahh now the high is good...uhoh, need more, and higher concentrations...Meth, Crack, Cocaine, heroin.... oh the joy continues until they find you dead. Good riddance, and we wouldnt care if along the way you didn't lose your job, and start doing petty crime to get some quick cash. Then a little something "harder" until you end up strongarm robbing folks. There's a cute little video running rampant on the news right now in america, it is of a man knocking a 101 yo lady unconscious for $33 and they caught it on video. I guarantee you he is unemployed and needed a quick fix. We had 57 murders in Jax Fl within a short time last year, all but 5 were drug related....two were innocent children INSIDE their homes. One was two drug dealers starting shooting at each other in the parking lot, and the bullets went through the wall and killed the little 10 yo girl...on another occasion a drug deal gone bad erupted in gunfire, a single bullet went through a wall and killed a 12 yo girl who was studying her homework...... that could be you...or you sister....think about it. Legalizing it would not make the world a better place or reduce crime, it would only affect how many drug arrests are done on a daily basis. Drug related CRIME would still exist. As a Criminal Justice major and a police officer in Florida, I have seen it first hand. I have arrested a 7 month old pregnant woman on her 17th felony arrest, who was high as a kite on Meth, who was laughably trying to rob a store for money to keep her high going. I have gotten 35 felony counts on a 32 yo man who lost his job due to drug use and job performance, he sold his house by the beach, and put his wife and 2 children in a hotel, and went on a $200 a day drug binge for 4 months. UNfortunately for him, he was driving without his headlights on at night, on his way to his dealers house when i pulled him over. Drugs = loser drugs = crime crime = victims that victim could be your mom or your sister, who someone snuffs trying to get $20 for a quick fix...drugs have no place in our society. You can pollute your little minds with the fantasy that drugs don't hurt people all you want...I know otherwise.
  5. You watched him die? You didn't help him in any way? You just stood at the foot of his bed and watched him decay? That's cruel. :notalk: *backhands* What kind of a stupid insensitive comment was that? I held not one, but two of my daughters in my arms while they fought for their last breath....they died 3 months apart from a very rare terminal disease called Infantile Tay-Sachs disease...I guess from your point of view I just "watched" them die...*backhands again* My grandfather went fishing with his best friend, came home, felt nauseous, asked my grandmother for a bucket, leaned over it to throwup and died.....massive stroke. Now the way to go is the way my great grandfather went...had dinner, went and sat in his favorite chair, clicked the tv on...took a nap and never woke up......amen to that, sign me up for that program.
  6. Congratulations shipmate and welcome to the Navy. June 2007 will make 21 years active duty so far for me. You have picked a great rate and it is one of professionalism and distinction. The Navy is easy to be successful in, we tell you what to do, when to do it and how to do it. We also tell you what NOT to do, stay out of trouble, study hard and don't get anyone pregnant. Your potential is limitless within the Navy, you can get your degree, apply for seaman to admiral commisioning program, get medical certifications etc....as well as see the world :) I am currently in a particularly hot, sandy and unpopular part of the world defending our country and our allies against Global Terrorism. I have been to every country in the world, and there is some exciting things to do and see. Study hard and you will advance fast, realize that 95% of your peers aren't even competitive because they spend most of their time worrying about the next party, or scoring with the new hottie. Take an hour a day to study for the next stripe, and enjoy the benefits as you make rank. Again, welcome aboard shipmate and I hope you have a successful and exciting career. stay safe.
  7. I own two cars, a 2006 Honda Civic SI and a 2005 Toyota Highlander V6.
  8. great analogy...and most cultures have their version of santa claus...doesn't mean the magical santa really flew around the world every year....see how that analogy is perfect?...oooooh what if I wrote a big book about it back in oh i dont know 321-325 AD.....would that make it true? hehe...love it
  9. Putting Jesus first: Live for Jesus not yourself. Do his will not yours. I'm not saying I'm succeeding. I'm failing miserably, though I still believe I shouldn't give up as Jesus doesn't give up on me. Make his death worthwhile. I can't help quoting the Bible as it's the source of my views. I'd rather you listen to the Bible than my words, but of course I understand what you're saying, I'm not too thrilled about the may change so called scientific facts and evidence all the time either. The source of your views is a fable...written by the Nicene Council in 321-325 AD, and the gullible religious fans wave aside all of the problems with the fable and quote it as something to live by. I do agree with the message it tries to send...live peacefully, treat others as you would like to be treated...blah blah blah but to think it was some devine inspired book and that all within it is factual is laughable at best. *pats on head* but whatever makes you sleep well at night.
  10. Don't even know where to begin with that lunacy. population in the thousands? ever study history? Heard of the Egyptians who were the most powerful civilization 5,000 years ago when this fanatasy was alleged to take place? why dont you look back a page or so where I break down the water issue...here's some more for you since you want toquote the Bible on water above and below etc etc.... There are no waters above the earth and none below as stated in Genesis 1:7. This myth stems from the biblical assertion that the earth is a flat disk covered by a rigid hemispherical dome, i.e., the firmament. All ancient near eastern creation myths are based on this primitive astronomical concept. The flat earth and its dome-shaped covering are said to exist as an enclosed bubble of air suspended in a universe filled with water. So when God feels like it, all he has to do is to open the windows of heaven and/or unplug the fountains of the deep and the water pours into this little saucer-shaped planet. Such assertions can only be construed as more biblical nonsense. Surely God knew he created a round planet, not a flat one....put the book down and think.... :XD: MOuntains formed after the flood? omg, you must be like 8yo...have you ever studied geology? formation of major mountains? history of the earth? ancient civilizations which flourished through this fake flood event? when you said that was your penny, you weren't kidding.
  11. Never claimed all people on welfare are slackers and scammers, though a good percentage are. Welfare is a neccessary program for people who need a temporary hand due to unforeseen circumstances. Some even need it for life, like the severely handicapped, but the ones popping out 5 kids from 5 dif daddies just need to be sterorized and given a job. ...as fortunate as me? rofl...oh my dear man if you only knew....I grew up poor, dropped out of high school at 17 yo and joined the Navy, went through two wives until I found a wonderful woman who supported my inner drive to be successful, got my high school diploma, and my bachelors, multiple certifications in physical fitness and law enforcement and advanced up the ranks in the military with distinction.....fortunate? not hardly..it's called WORK ETHICS. Anyone can join the military and be successful, just have to work hard and stay out of trouble. I rather enjoy my $82,000 salary, add in my wifes teacher pay (although she is almost finished with her Masters, then she will be a vice principal for two years, then a principal...which starts at higher then I make now....show me the money hehe) and we do okay...but forunate? rofl....no silver spoon here......you think that I think they are less then me? never said that....lazier though?...most are...absolutely. As I say at work all the time...RESULTS, NOT EXCUSES.
  12. I'd say that applies to you too. From my perspective you are narrow-minded and you limit God to work under theories created by man. Well I certainly appreciate and respect your opinion  If you wish to wave your hand and say it was a divine miracle, good on you. Interesting how all that stopped...unless you believe in Benny Hinn :-X now, just for a moment use that logic "God" gave you, and realize if the flood/Ark happened, and he waved his wand to make all the logistical impossiblities, world wide salting, mass vegetation and mammal death (which once again is not supported by a large slurry of mass fossils reflecting the entire worlds population was snuffed) go away....you can't move past the fact that the egyptians never drowned, never stopped building their incredible civilization....hmmmmmmmm #-o WARRIOR45: Thanks, yeah I know it can be frustrating :wall: I had a friend once who swore up and down the world was flat, and we had never been on the moon, and no amount of proof could convince him of otherwise...bless him, used to drive me up the wall. Ambassador: Back then stories was the media of the day, with world wide trade (yes there was world wide trading going on) they also traded stories along with goods and services. People loved a new story, and with each telling the more exaggerated it would get, and the more they would tell it, the more they would individualize the story, until it became something they knew intimately about, and took ownership of. It went from a great story heard from afar to something that had been incorporated within their own beliefs and upon the generations telling it..became a divine ethnic cleansing of "Biblical" proportions. USE....YOUR....BRAIN....AND.....LOGIC.
  13. doing a poor job......this IS the land of opportunity, work hard and get somewhere, sit on your wagon and wait for the government to pay your way simply because you were born...meh You know I read an interesting article once, it said if you gathered all the billions in America, and redistributed it evenly to everyone, within 5 years the vast majority of it would be right back where it was...you know why? the rich, educated and smart know how to work hard and make money, the poor, uneducated and stupid would blow it on 22" spinners and a new hummer.......5 years later....broke again. Welfare should only be a temporary solution while you get back on your feet, not the generation to generation thumb sucking program it was for years before it was thankfully reformed. I had a full time career and worked two part time jobs for a 4 year period once, if I can get three jobs, surely they can get one or heck two...get up, and go work.
  14. sigh....here we go again...okay here's a news flash...they won't ever find the ark you know why? The magical great flood never happened, thus the Ark was never built and it never housed 2 (or 7 depending on which chapter of the fictional bible you are reading) pairs of animals. Unless some befuddled farmer built a boat, called it the ark, and the tale was told and retold until it became this huge thing which never was... but the ARK most likely never was as the flood never happened. Not to beat a dead horse as I did in other threads, and there are multiple ways to disprove the flood. The main one was the flood supposedly happened 5,000 years ago, the Eygptians were a thriving civilization then and obviously were not drowned by this alleged world-wide, all land covering flood. They still exist today, and the avid historians never mention a flood of biblical proportians, and never bothered to build a boat. :XD: EDIT: well I changed my mind, here is some of my flood and ark data from my flood myth file I maintain; As one examines the biblical version of this story, conflicting elements become clear. The most obvious concerns the numbers of creatures Noah is to bring with him. In Gen. 6:19-20 God tells Noah to bring one pair of "every living thing including birds." But in Gen.7:2-3 God gives a different set of instructions. Here he tells Noah to bring with him seven pairs of ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬Åclean̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ
  15. 99 strength was first 99 - cause it owns, and I am melee based. 99 Attack was next - for more hits. 99 defense, seemed logical to do next. 99 hits, came along for the ride with the above. 97 fletching, hate it, but was a neccessary evil to build mage levels by high alching.
  16. My number one pet peeve is people who drive at night without their headlights on. I was working a traffic detail in June last year and between the hours of 0200 and 0330 I pulled over 5 cars driving without their headlights on down a semi lighted street. The first four I gave verbal warnings to, the 5th one was the winner, he consented to a vehicle search :XD: and I got him for 32 felony counts of drug possession, and to sweeten the deal, towed his car away as it was now property of the great state of Florida under the Florida contraband forfeiture act. 2004 ford mustang gt :XD: idiot, now he knows, funny part was the only reason he got pulled over was because he had his headlights off, and only reason he got arrested is he was dumb enough (thankfully) to consent to a vehicle search. Gotta love dumb criminals.
  17. I am usually patient and will respond to any polite person who has a legit question. I will even respond to a stat level question. Some things I just don't know ...as if once you are a high level you become all knowing...especially questions about quests......I use the walk throughs explicitly because I hate quests and only do the ones I need, get through it and move on. I have never pked or dueled so I am the last person you want to ask about that...combat? i can tell you all about that :XD: I also find it amusing when they ask how much money do you have? I usually will say no comment, but i dont think i amass any more then 7 mil or so at any given time, i make it when i need it, and spend it on what i want. I have everything i need, and have zero desire to have a colored paper status hat...... stuck up? nah, combat is just another number, it just means I can one or two hit most things. big deal. :ohnoes:
  18. miami and ocala florida, miami until 10yo or so, ocala until 17 then joined the military.
  19. eleven  omg #-o guess I should have asked, and here i was assuming about 16, okay in that case, just eat good food, drink plenty of water and do pushups, situps, pullups and bodyweight squats. When you hit 14 or so you can safely incorporate weight training.

  21. oh really lil one? 5 years ago when my daughter was 2 yo, we took her to a well known baby sitter couple who watched the neighborhood kids....nice clean house, well respected..everyone used them. the baby sitter went to the store and her husband watched my 2yo lil girl while she was gone "for just a minute or two", 6 months later she stumbled across a file she hadnt seen before on his computer, opened it and there was over 50 home made VIDEOS of him molesting children, including my daughter. Thankfully she turned him into the police, he got 17 years in a federal pen for my daughter......paranoid? you betcha. Ask the parents of the 50,000 plus child abductions a year about paranoia.....ask the young girl who went to a party and someone gave her a drink and that's all she remembers.....and now she's pregnant at 13 yo (my niece). The piece of crap who molested my daughter was the reason I went to the police academy and became a reserve officer, so I can help put ppl like that where they belong....you might want to pull off the blinders.....I go to calls you can't imagine...it IS a sick world.
  22. most and all is two seperate things....and you would be surprised how gullible young girls are.....my kids political/religious/theological etc beliefs are just that...theirs...however as a good parent, I want to know if he is logging into hate sites, racist rhetoric sites, sick maiming sites, how to build a bomb sites, 101 ways to kill your classmates sites etc......these would concern me, and I would correct that on the spot...ever heard of columbine, and a myriad of other stupid things kids do when they get disillusioned with reality and depressed? If their parents had been present in their lives more, they could have avoided that. It's not that we want to censure you, it's that we want to protect you as your mind and beliefs are developing, if you go to far down a wrong path, sometimes it is to late to get them back on the right one. You may find this hard to believe, but you haven't figured out everything about life yet, and we want to protect you from yourself and the sickos out there....not smother, but just be present in your lives so we can step in if you fall off into the abyss :)
  23. I think it's great...and you know why? same reason we should care less if the government is tracking our internet usage, phone calls etc....if you aren't doing anything wrong.....why would you care? If my 13 yo daughter tells me she is going to the movies, and i log on to a site that tracks her shoes...and she is across town on the interstate.....knowing she had possibly been kidnapped/abducted by some sicko would be kinda helpful don't you think? watch the news much? seems like every night some piece of crap is snatching up some young teenager and running off with them...and it isn't to take them to the movies either. ..or how about your son decides he has met the love of his life via the internet  and jumps on a bus to go to kansas to meet up with "erica", who of course turns out to be 52 yo "eric"....being able to track him and turn that information over to the police could be nice don't you think? ...or your daughter is 15 yo or so and says she is staying over night at a friend's house, but in reality that friend's parents are gone for the night and your daughter and her friend are going across town to a college party at some guys house they heard about....sounds innocent enough right? I won't even bother to spell out what happens at these things....drugs, [bleep]ed drinks, forcible procreation...etc....checking up on her might save her having to go through that...and this EXACT situation was a call i went on as a reserve police officer, it was a noise complaint, we roll up in 2 cars with 4 officers and there was at least 200 ppl in this house, in the front and back yard...they scattered like bugs in the light when i loudly proclaimed "let's check their IDs and if they are underage, arrest them"..then we searched the house in an effort to find the owner so he could be cited and secure his/her house which had every single door wide open...we found 7 teenage girls hiding in various spots...oldest? 16 yo. Think about that for a sec. When we got ahold of the parents to come pick up their daughters, 6 were very concerned and had been told the standard lies...and were horrifed when we showed them the 6 kegs, over 40 large empty bottles of hard liquor, 4 bags with different amounts of pot, pills everywhere, several boxes of condoms, a porn video was playing on the large screen tv in the living room...quite a party...but not what the parents wanted their 13yo-16yo daughters at with 18-25 yo guys. The one other parent was a piece of crap, and actually threw us an attitude about why we were detaining her daughter (we arrested the daughter for refusing to identify herself...a misdemeanor crime in most states, and a mandatory arrest) she finally said who she was but that was after she was in custody. The parent didn't care and it was obvious her daughter was the product of that....sad really. In closing...if you have nothing to hide, why would you care that your parents had the capability to "track" you? Now as far as 16 yo and having a license, privacy blah blah blah....i was 16yo with a license once, I know how my friends and I drove...I know the dumb things you do to impress one another......my son is 15 yo, when he turns 16, and wants to drive the car to the "mall", you can bet I would love to know if he was doing over 100 mph sometime during the trip...i could correct that behavior before he gets killed, or kills a family of five.
  24. started as a member....so level 3. Why play limited? only $5USD a month.
  25. What part of "all powerful" dont you understand? I understand every word of it. What part of "proof to the contrary" or how about "where is your proof, anyways?" don't you understand? No need to get snippy, Mister. There are logical thinkers, and then there are people who just say "The Bible says so." which isn't a logical argument at all. You're not taking into account that the Bible could very well be fiction mixed in with historical places. Yes, said places existed, but that doesn't mean there is a God in the sky lookin' down on us, does it? I have nothing against people who believe in God, but at least have a reason other than "The Bible says so."...I believe there could be a God, but I'm also not a guppy. I'm not going to sit back and not question it, because when you don't question it, you turn into one of those "The Bible says so." drones that take no part in logical discussions because they feel they're better than that. That they don't NEED to explain anything, because afterall, "the Bible says so." Got to say you are very intuitive :)
