Britain Pulling Out?
Crimsonking: War leads to war...hmmmmm can't agree there. Weak spined liberals like to talk about non military options....and they should Always be tried first...war isnt like hollywood, it is nasty business...nothing glorious or cool about it......however, we are talking about religious fanatical barbarians who don't understand harsh words and stern speechs...they just laugh and view you as weak...they understand only one thing....a bullet in the head. There are many wonderful countries in the world, I have served beside the British and australian and even turkish, german and spanish...all fine people. When it comes to technological military might, we are pretty high up the food chain...don't believe the media hype, we can bring the pain. freedom fading away.....maybe we shoyuldnt be able to electronically track convicted pedos, and listen in on known criminal elements within our own borders huh? come on....if you have nothing to hide, why would you care? how can you even justify that? I want the pedos locked down (if not instantly executed, but the sign waving liberals would never stand for that...that poor sicko has rights huh?...sigh) and i want radical islamics within our country and other criminals, monitored and tracked...if you need the ability to eavedrop to do so....feel free. you are correct, no country has a pristene and wonderful history. Everyone (pretty much) has some type of blemish in their history. The key is to learn from it and move on...like the germans, i have served with them many times, outstanding human beings, and highly disciplined soldiers and sailors, had some good times with them....yet they were a mighty evil force 50 years ago, see how they evolved? Maybe you think we should just sit in the comfort of our living rooms and ignore the MILLIONS being slaughtered by tyranical idiots that are in power in the middle east, somalia, etc....while we sip our tea and thank god we don't live there.....I cant. These people in power rape, murder and pillage as they see fit, conduct mass genocide on their own people and others they dont like who have different views....someone has to step in and help the innocent.....ever had someone come up in the streets of the middle east and hug you, say thank you for helping us, thank you for feeding my children, thanks for rebuilding our school...with tears in their eyes? THAT is why we are here...that doesnt sell news shows though..only controversy and media hyped agenda based views sell...I am here, I have seen it firsthand, and thus I can make an informed decision. Speak not of what you know nothing about.

The Flood
1.4 billions muslims...approx less then 100k are radical, less then 30k are militantly insane (engaged terrorists)...and we are reducing that number faster then they are getting new brain washed "recruits". Quite a small number to dump all that hatred on the remainder....until I researched and learned about the religion and how many follow it peacefully, I had the same ignorant anti islam opinion....education is a wonderful thing.

The Flood
wow...what did i miss...hehe hmmmmmmmm splat: you have the right to worship however you see fit, as long as it doesn't harm someone else or inconvenience me. If you want to don a purple skirt, and dance and prance around in a big bon fire and wave a pig's head over your head....you have the right, and I serve to give you that right and will defend your right to do so. I am not anti-christian, I am anti-religion, they all have their pros and cons...even islam...do a little research about the 1.4 billion muslims before you talk about them. Christianity has killed more people in the name of god then probably any other religion....read a few history books about the crusades. However they do a lot of nice things if they don't go overboard, Mormons are nice to, great working religion, it's just their idealogy that is laughable...the whole saint thing, and don't even get me started on scientology...with the aliens...and the LSD tripping idiot who started the religion....and the 230,000 dollars needed to pay for your "enlightening sessions" so that when you read the high document, you don't lose your mind...um, I read it on the internet, it was scanned and posted, didnt lose my mind, I suggest they get a refund. As far as being blown up by a radical...thanks for outlook, my best friend died that way 6 weeks ago in just that manner, I have spent years in the middle east, over the last 21 years of my military service........point is, don't talk about what you know nothing about. I know a lot about religion, war, cultures, the world, and the bible....thus I make an opinion about those subjects. now about you believing the flood story....*pats on the head*..that's nice...but come on, your saying on one side "well the bible says it, so it must be so" on the other side it is IMPOSSIBLE that there was a world wide flood...ever hear of the Egyptians? they were thriving 5,000 years ago, and exist today.......never had a break in their history, they didnt build a big boat too and wait it out....there is no worldwide fossil record demonstrating a massive mixed up slurry of bodies...plant life world wide wasn't snuffed.....fresh water lakes exist...as do fresh water animals....*shakes hard* wake up and smell reality.

The bible
Congratulations, nobody cares. Your argument seems to be as follows: 1. I am so smart, be in awe! 2. I say religion is laughable. 3. Therefore I'm right and you are an idiot. Whoops, I mean gullible. Why not explain your views instead of puffing yourself up as some sort of god and then giving completely unintelligible reasons behind your views? hehe, a god I am not, there are many more intelligent and higher educated, being in the top 1% of the world's IQ just makes one more analytical on issues, not better or worse then anyone else. The point I was making there was that I am informed on how IQ testing works, and how it applies to the various demographic groups throughout the world. I know it came across arrogant, and could care less, I have worked hard to get where I am at, and apologize to no one for it. ....now what "view" did you want me to expound upon? the sad state of the religious fanatics? the ease in which one can disprove a lot of the Bible? the pros and cons of each religion? this could be quite a lengthy debate, and one in which I am well equipped to talk about, although connectivity can be a bit of a pain.....I am going to bed now that I have spent my normal 20 hour shift working and multi tasking on the computer...4 hour power nap and ready to go again, so I will check in later, if we have connectivity. :ohnoes:

Britain Pulling Out?
1) It's not pro war in reality, more like Pro-Peace. Sometimes you have to remove a few radicals to bring peace to the population. 2) Been around the world? I have, spent anytime in the middle east, china, asia, europe? I have, go see the world and you will realize just how great we have it in America. 3) My theory on the whole privacy debate, if you have nothing to hide, what do you care? I wouldnt give two craps if they wanted to record my life 24/7, I have nothing to hide. The guilty do though huh, wonder why there are so many that want to hide...hmmmmmmmmm, if I got to lose my privacy so they can catch criminals...so be it. 4) rofl...buy into media much? ever been there? every studied their history? a Great Nation...well I will give you they have a neat history, and have been around a long time. ..let's see what is my favorite mental picture of china...hmmmmmmm ah, i remember, it was the sight of hundreds of baby girls tied to clay pots and plastic buckets so they wouldnt have to change them, as they sat and cried...hungry, dirty, because they were "lesser citizens"....in the state run "foster system".....or maybe running over a guy with a tank who had the audacity to question the government......research, learn, then open mouth and make an informed opinion. 5) meant every word of that. Joined the military at 17 yo in 1986, and until you actually walk down the streets of Bahgdad, and see the bodies of women and children from the last brain washed, worthless piece of #### who decided to indiscrimanately blow himself up for his idealogy..or the 5 yo little girl they send out into the street in front of our convoy, strapped with explosives......or hiding behind women and children as they shoot at us, knowing we value innocent life to much to fire back...yeah your right, and I will happily remove each and every one of them if I could, as painfully as possible. 6) good idea, stop while you're ahead.

The bible
IQ is a very debatable and convulated issue, my pet subject is criminology, I could bore you to tears on the sad statistics that go along with that....and it kind of matches the demographic groups for IQ, and for probably the same reasons...lack of parenting, socio-economic issues, schooling and quality of schooling, culture etc etc. wasn't trying to make this a race thing, because it isn't. Please god don't think I am a racist, because there isn't a single bone in my body wired that way. I hate ignorance, and unfortunately that comes in all "colors". The point I was trying to make, and it seems I did so in my typical "arrogant" manner, which is hard lined and I don't waste a lot of time sugar coating things, was that my belief is that so many people unquestioning accept their religious views because (here I go again) simple folk are easy to persuade. I spent a lot of my child hood at southern churchs, baptist and the like, watched the crying and the wringing of the hands, the froth mouthed ranting screaming preachers...and was awed by the stupidity of the whole scene...grown folks acting like complete idiots...as I grew up, I wanted to understand why...and as my parents tried to shovel it down my throat, I resisted, and questioned..and researched....when my two terminally ill daughters were close to passing, every denomination you can think of came and prayed over them, I would have sold my soul to Satan himself if it would have saved my little girls....but it was all for naught. One preacher (my moms pastor) actually had the audacity to wiggle and cry over them, and then tell me that "Jesus Christ, through me has saved and healed your children, you have only to give of yourself to him completely, believe in him with the depths of your heart, and they will stay healthy"......sick ..they died in my arms 3 days later...guess I didnt believe hard enough huh? BS. At that moment I would have been his greatest crusader if my daughters would have lived...but nope. What kind of sick person tells a young couple that? anyway, I digress. No I am not on the Enterprise, my ship relieved them.

The bible
In your original post I responded to you didn't make a single point except to throw out your opinions and contempt on a certain group of people. What about using some hard data or facts to make a point instead of using mere opinion. I responded, scroll up and look, it's in my the same box as my reply to another person. I am a bit handicapped at the moment due to connectivity. I am on an US Navy Super Carrier in a particularly unpopular part of the world, where I am utilizing a satellite connection that is shared by thousands of people on the same ship....click, wait 5 minutes, page loads..click...loss connection, so give me a little patience on my reply time. here, i copied what I replied, so you don't have to scroll up :) Offensive? religion itself offends me, but the masses who blindly believe don't care. Arrogant? yes Sir, you are correct, not the first time I have heard that. When you have a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice with a 4.0 GPA, and are a registered member of MENSA, you tend to think you are a bit intelligent, which I am, arrogant? absolutely. I didn't say anyone was a idiot, just gullible. You are gullible to believe a book, written by man, with laughable stories in it. Purpose to posting? isn't it obvious? I have studied religion for over 25 years, I have purposely exposed myself to many different versions of it, throughout the world..and have come to the conclusion that they are just sad. Thay all have positive and negative factors, but in the end, it is a unprovable belief in something inobtainable that makes the gullible feel better. I wasn't being discrimanatory when I said the average person reads and thinks at the 8th grade level..that is a FACT. remember the key word here again is AVERAGE.
-
The bible
Exactly Sir, I was making a short reply to the subject which is near and dear to my heart. IQ is also a socio-economic phenomenon. Absolutely. As a teacher you know about the different IQ requirements for being considered "exceptional" or "special"...rather a weird subject, to be considered exceptional as a caucasian you have to have 110, to be considered exceptional as a african american you have to only be 100....and of course this is taboo to talk about to students or parents...how do you explain to a demographic group that they consistently test lower...year after year...it would be considered a racist statement, of which it is not....but you are correct their are many factors to take into consideration. Many intelligent people are heavy into their religious beliefs. The point I was making was that the Masses are very susceptible to religion, and because of the mass average intelligence level...seems understandable to me. I spent 6 months studying Muslim, and I am in Iraq right now....you talk about sick, brain washed people. I'll pass on the text book for now, and you are somewhat incorrect. I deeply believe that you have the right to practice and worship as you see fit, as long as it doesn't harm someone else, or inconvenience me. You can prance around in a hula skirt and shake dead chickens in the air if it makes you feel closer to God, I might giggle if I see you, but I will defend your right to do so. Both of my parents are religious fanatcis...love them both, respect their beliefs and pity them for them.

The bible
*points to self* Tested and registered member of MENSA, have a little back ground and understanding of which I speak. Before you spout off about IQ's, do a little research, heres some for you: Average IQ for Caucasian: 100 Average IQ for AFrican American: 90 Average IQ for Asian: 110 average that out: 100 This is fact gentleman. Do the research. Note the word AVERAGE, their are geniuses from every demographic group throughout the world, I refer to the AVERAGE. My wife is a teacher, and has access to multiple studies that prove this. Also it is a fact that the average person reads and understands at the 8th grade level. As a reserve Police officer, I am required to write my reports at that level, so that a jury can understand them. I can not use big words to better articulate the facts of the case. This is called the real world, open your eyes. Offensive? religion itself offends me, but the masses who blindly believe don't care. Arrogant? yes Sir, you are correct, not the first time I have heard that. When you have a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice with a 4.0 GPA, and are a registered member of MENSA, you tend to think you are a bit intelligent, which I am, arrogant? absolutely. The bible
For all intents and purposes, no. I believe the creation account is symbolic, or, God created an aged universe. To take that even farther, it's becoming widely accepted that the Creation happened, but the 7 days were symbolic of ages of prehistory. amazing how people can be brainwashed isn't it? "widely accepted" doesn't mean right. Hitler's theories were "widely accepted" in Germany, didn't make them right. Average person has an IQ of 100, and thinks and writes at the 8th grade level....no wonder the "masses" buy the religion theory. IMHO religion was created to keep the "natives" in line, keeps the poor and stupid going and gives them something to look forward to after their sad life....fast forward to today, and as advanced as we are, people still buy into it. Nothing scarier then looking into the insane eyes of a religious fanatic as they quote scripture. "Praise the Lord"

Britain Pulling Out?
I have been in the US military now for almost 21 years, have spent a lot of time in country, side by side with British and Australia military, outstanding guys to work with. To hear that Lithuania is pulling out their 53 troops....oh gee what will we ever do. I love how the little guys stick 60 soldiers into the fight and apply for UN money or political pull....thanks for the support....glad you devoted so much time and effort into bettering the world. :XD: :ohnoes: :XD:

The bible
actually...those books you speak of were never even considered...let alone "thrown out". there are more things that point to a creator than not. "books not considered" or "thrown out" same thing, play on words...they didnt follow the common thread of thought that they wanted to present. My point is the Bible was written by agenda based group of people...divinely inspired.....doubtful with all the mistakes, especially when considering they didn't know the world was round and not flat, didn't understand the laws of science, take into consideration the logistical impossiblities of the stories when they made this crap up...or blindly wrote down heresay and exagerated stories from superstitious people, like the man who thought he saw a miracle when a bush spontaneously combusted (fire) and he heard voices...I am sure he did, it's called the state of the mind after dehydration and exposure to the sun......hehe "there are more things that point to a creator than not", I concur, I never said God didn't exist, I merely implied the Bible is derived from the mind of man, loosely based on real events...very loosely.

The Flood
yup, sure did, I clicked my Religion folder on my desktop, clicked Christianity, then Bible, then great flood myth, selected 2 paragraphs from the third page of my 37 page document I typed from research conducted 4 years ago, and pasted it into this thread....and your point? Stupidity called religion is one of my favorite debates, I love taking the bible apart piece by piece and shoving it back down the throats of the deranged fanatics who wave it in the air.

Britain Pulling Out?
will it affect us? nah.....nothing new...US military (world police) provides 95% of the soldiers, 95% of the money, 95% of the casualties and the funny part is we get 95% of world wide disdain. You think we like playing world police? fix your own problems, dont go crying to the US every time you get some new fanatical dictator threatening your lives. My vote is we just stay in our own country, fix our schools, our roads, feed our poor, and let the world deal with their own problems......maybe then we will get the respect we deserve. We are used to doing all of UN's dirty work while they sit behind their desks and look down their noses at us, publicly denouncing what we do, while asking for more support and money behind closed doors. You wonder how a country barely 500 years old could go from wilderness to the super power of the world? FREEDOM, freedom to pursue intelligent thought, scientific design.....but go ahead and continue Socialism, Communism etc and wonder why we are so far ahead in the game of life. China has been around for a very very long time, proof positive that communism doesnt work, or they would be the worlds most powerful and rich nation...instead of us. By the way, I have been deployed here since Oct 2006 and wont return to my wife and 4 kids until later this year. Not the first time I have had to do time in the sandland burying worthless people who slaughter each other over religion, and I am sure it won't be the last. We should have finished the job when I was here in 1990 in Desert Storm, when we defeated Sadaam's "million man army" in 40 days....bring it Iran, your next in line.

The bible
the bible....sigh....amazing how popular that fictious book is, now I do believe that it was loosely based on real events, some that never happened of course, and many that were exaggerated with each telling. The Bible you see was written by the Nicene Council in 321-325 AD. The king brought together all major religious scholars, 100 of them and they were tasked to make one book with a common theme for the masses to follow. They threw out 7 major "books" and condensed the remainders into a common line of thought, unfortunately for them it is easy to identify the more then 1300 major mistakes, stories that dont line up from one passage to another, different ages and dates between one or another, provable out right lies etc etc. The scary part to me are the religious fanatics who take every word literally. They believe it in it's entirety, god bless them....pity them for they are brain washed beyond saving. Here are some of my favorite ones: As one examines the biblical "Great Flood", conflicting elements become clear. The most obvious concerns the numbers of creatures Noah is to bring with him. In Gen. 6:19-20 God tells Noah to bring one pair of "every living thing including birds." But in Gen.7:2-3 God gives a different set of instructions. Here he tells Noah to bring with him seven pairs of ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬Åclean̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ

The Flood
world-wide flood never happened.....multiple ways to prove otherwise, here are a few of my favorites: The flood allegedly happened 5,000 years ago, during that time the Egyptians were flourishing as a powerful civiliazation. In the literature of ancient Egypt, the most powerful and most advanced nation in the world at the alleged time of the Great Flood, there is no mention of a catastrophic flood of world wide proportions. If such a flood had occurred, all of the Egyptians would have been drowned. That obviously didn't happen. There is no physical evidence that there was a world wide flood, which would have killed ALL vegetation, thus there would have been no food for the alleged Ark full of animals. Fossil life does not reflect a mass killing of all animals worldwide. Mass flooding would have caused a slurry of mixed up fossils of every dead animal in the world....never happened. However, the most devastating problem facing believers in the flood myth surfaces in Numbers 13:33. Here the Israelites encounter the sons of Anak. The Anakites came from the Nephilim (giants) who, according to Genesis 6:2-4, originated in pre-flood times as a result of the sexual union of male angels (sons of God) and the daughters of men. Therefore the presence in post-flood Canaan of Anakites, the descendants of the Nephilim, would mean that not all who lived on earth, other than Noah and his immediate family, were killed in the flood. This stands as a direct contradiction of Genesis 6:17 where God vows to, . . . bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; every thing that is in the earth shall die. The mind is like a parachute, it is only good if it is open. To blindly believe something when all physical proof shows otherwise is only foolish.

Green Dragon Autoers massive banning?
I read an article about how there are virtual work sights in China where they log in for 10 hours a day and collect merchantable items, then turn them in for RL cash at end of the day/week...insane.

Pest Control - Too easy or High-Level update?
good point jake When i was pcing for 4 mage levs, 5 prayer levs and 5 range levs (all of which are a pain to raise, and expensive) I did spend some wasted time world hopping until i caught up with some other hi lev hard core pcers, then it was a rush of points. Easily spent a wasted hour or so collectively hopping around, then a good 1-1.5 hour making mad points until I had my nightly 100....but better for me on raising range and prayer, both of which I hate to raise, especially range, which I never use. off topic: fires are okay, but I used trolls at death plateau, 70k exp per hour on trolls with str pot and whip. I was maxed on melee and hP prior to PC being released by doing trolls and slayer. Now a great spot for fires is down the dusty well, in the middle room is 4 fires, and rarely anyone around. unlike using the dungeon on khramja.

Nerd or just plain bored?
made 100 combat in 4 months, 123 in 12 months total game time. Active duty military, wife is a school teacher, have 4 kids, workout 6 days a week; it's all about time management. I played 3 hours a night after wife and kids went to bed every night, killing trolls (70k exp per hour) so thats 200kish exp per 3 hours, 5 days is a million...see the logic? melee is easy, its the non combats that are time consuming. NERD? :XD: not on your life, NO LIFE? :XD: nope, just know how to manage my time. UNfortunately I deployed for Iraq in Oct2006, and won't return until later this year. I can not play the game on government computers, since they have download blockers, but I can periodically access tipit. ..most of the people on my friends list are adults, and in the top 2000 in rank. Adults tend to have the time and desire to relax and play a game at night, sipping a cold one while the kids scamper around the house. I never judge someone by their stats, level or age in RS. All of that is irrelevant as it is based on how you act (not your age) and how much or how long you have played (stats/levels), none of which makes you better or worse, cooler or geekier than any other player. Looking forward to getting home, knocking the sand out of my boots, spending time with my family whom I miss dearly, and sneaking in a few hours on RS again when the time is right :-w EDIT: can't wait to sit down to a steak dinner and glass of wine...mmmmm real food...sigh

Funny pranks to play
Well I don't usually waste time pulling pranks or other such nonsense, but one day I was especially bored, having wacked trees for more days straight then I cared to remember. So I walked over to the yews by cathebry, cut a load, walked over to the mages by the range guild, logged onto a different world so that it would appear I had just logged in from the last time I was cutting mages. Stood for a few minutes wacking mages, then stepped over and began burning yews in a pretty row (this would work with any log of course, but yews burn almost as long as mages, so it makes the prank more believable) and calmy continued to burn them....you should have seen the reactions..."OMG LOrd, why are you burning mages?"...hehe... :XD: "Oh I replied, they are decent firemaking exp per log"....OMG that is stupid, what a waste of money!!!!.....meh, it's only money I reply....quite comical actually, they all freak out and try hard to explain to me how foolish what I am doing is lmao. :XD:

Why is "safing" bad?
...PK for excitement.....professional courtesy....taking risks....this when discussing pkers? The same spineless bottom feeders that pk unarmed RCers? where's the excitement, risk or professional courtesy with that? The same spineless bottom feeders that pk skillers training on greens....which is fine if it wasn't taggers doing it 5 on one....where's the excitement, risk and professional courtesy when you team on a single skiller? you have got to be kidding me..... none of those things exist with pkers, or I can for sure say with MOST, as generalizing any group is wrong. I especially love when as they pile on me, 5 on one, and are squealing "lol...OWNT"....."eat piggy eat"....um yeah, how about bring it all by yourself? without your 5 friends tagging in and out....or when I am RCing and unarmed.....let me go get my toys so I can one hit you. meh. Spineless

Is luring an acceptable practice?
that sounds like luring to me. End of debate right there, it IS illegal in accordance with Jagex rules. As a RL police officer in Florida USA, I get the most ridiculous excuses from people that break the law. "Why am I getting a ticket, everyone was speeding"...doesn't make it legal now does it? Let me explain criminal mentality to you, and it will shed some light into why people think luring should be ok. Criminal mentality is the inability to accept responsibility for your own actions. It's never their fault; they were holding the drugs/gun/paraphenalia for a "friend", They didnt do it, why did you pick me, is it because of my race?, no it was because you broke the law. They come up with a hundred different reasons to try to dodge personal responsibility and accountability for a conscious decision that they made to break the law.....just like luring. It IS illegal IAW the rules. Doesn't mean you have to like it, and when I see players try to justify it, that means they don't want to accept that it is wrong, so that makes them feel okay when they do it. ..and to use "well they should know better, so it's the victim's fault" is complete junk of an excuse. So the victim deserved to be assaulted because of how she was dressed, or for being in that side of town at that time of night?....um no. "Sorry ma'am, you shouldnt have been wearing that and you shouldnt have been in that bar at 1am in the morning, so just take it as a lesson learned, we can't hold the assaulter accountable because you should have known better" think about it, wrong is wrong, and rules are rules. Don't like the rules? play another game. Don't like the laws in RL? enjoy your stay in jail. don't make a whiny thread about how you got wrongfully banned either. :notalk:

Runescape: teamplay vs lone adventurer
The definition of lone wolf here. I like that I can interact with other real people throughout the game, but I hate having to TEAM to do anything, especially quests. Getting legends was a pain for me, luckily one of my RS friends had a nub account that hadnt done it yet, so we knocked it out together. I prefer to train alone, quest alone and play alone. Me against the game and my stats against others. I keep public chat on, and private chat off. I only switch it on when I am meeting someone for a trade, or establishing communication for a trade with someone I replied to on the official trade forums. I hate that when I have to do that, I get bombarded with instant multiple messages...."Hey Lord, where ya been"...blah blah blah....meh, leave me alone and let me train. :uhh: How do you think I got to 123 in 12 months playing time? :ohnoes: it wasn't standing around in fally or on the piers of the fishing guild chatting about nonsense. #-o However, that being said, I understand the attraction of meeting in game and hanging with RL buddies. I have met many really cool people within the game, and have a full friend list. My particular issue is I can not type while looking at the screen, so I must stare at keyboard while 3 finger tapping of the keys.....and have almost died a few times doing it, so I rather just switch chat off, so as not to be disturbed. I prefer chatting to people around me, usually easier to do that, then talk to 14 ppl at same time via private. :XD:
