1% was a bit harsh I admit, but my thinking was couple thousand vocal discontent out of 1.5-2mil players....1-2%. pure guess, and yes I recognize that some players just got their version of game playing nerfed, but I refuse to think or believe "it's the end of RS" and a mass majority of players are quitting in droves.

That is what I would do if I wanted to know what they were up to..... :uhh: win one for Jagex, and legit players in the long run. if they were monitoring it before, why did it come to this? jagex was losing big time because it was so easy to buy and sell gp and now they ended rwt but hurt everyone in runescape in the process lots of people are quitting, not all are threats. even on the rants page on rsof, one of the mods posted they have had alot of canceled membership since the update i doubt wild will come back since they went through so much trouble creating bh but the unbalanced trade is another thing I highly doubt they will undo such a concentrated effort that took a year in the making because several hundred RWTers/pkers quit...even if it several thousand...better for the collective legit players in the long run....the inability to gift to legit RL family or friends is a blow...but a price I am willing to pay to make the RWTers go elswhere, as well as the ppl who played ONLY to pk. The reason I feel they made the moves they did was PRECISELY because they knew the way that RWTers worked, thats why it was a buildup and slam. They boxed in ALL the ways they could move illegal gotten gains.

same ip address right? we have 4 computers in my home, my wife and I play same time, same world, sometimes my oldest two children as well......same ip address....lotsa family's play, kind of hard to determine if you have two computers side by side playing yourself, or two pages uploaded simultaneously on same computer etc...but then again, im not a puter savvy individual, maybe they can tell the difference. why you would do two at same time as one person with exception of illegally trading items between two of your own charcters I don't know. If Jagex thought the ... well said, I think you and I assume they actually READ the information made available before going on their "we are quitting" crusade. To the players I say Give it time, adjust and move on. Can not deal with it?...move on somewhere else. Wow, Lordkrohn1626, I can just say wow. You must be one of the most ignorant and narrow-minded player I have ever seen here. To say that yesterdays updates was the best updates ever is just so wrong that I can't even describe it. Your friends must be really lying to you or haven't red the whole thing or thought even one bit of how these latest updates could be made much better for all and do the same the same major thing, get rid of the rwts. Just to state the errors in your post, I would not say that the players who pk are as small as 1 %, more like 10 % or more in my estimates. ...and you plan to disprove this number by......, my number was pulled out of the thin air, as is yours.... The worst error is that you state that 1M+ players love this update. Just take a look at the rsof and you will see maybe 100+ positive ppl and like 100k+ negative ppl. irrevelent, that has nothing to do with anything...the fact that the people who think their way of playing got nerfed, come to tipit/RSOF and complain isn't a revelation...those that are content (vast majority) have no reason to come onto tipit/RSOF and wave flags....the discontent scream, while the content move on...that is why you have"100k" negative people...did you count that? was there repetitive posters/voters?....think about those political "polls"...they never called me, who are they polling? how are those select individuals the voice of the majority?....those that are happy have no reason to come on and make 500 posts each about loving the update....things you need to take into consideration before opening your pie hole and spouting "it's the end of the world".. That can't just be a coincidence! I would say that it is tops 10 % that love this update, more likely way less. The biggest part is really negative, the next biggest is just trying to deal with it and accept it even though the do not like it at all. Third biggest group are those whom see some good in them but have some major problem with some of the kinks. Then the fourth and way smallest group are ppl like you, the ones that love this update. I can't see how you can even like it, even love it is way out of my insanity to understand. 1. They were way to many updates that restricts us at the same time! only thing that restricts us is the inability to now give family and real friends items as gifts, in the sincere manner, but when you consider it is impossible to prove it is a legitimate gift and not the ending transaction of a RWT...it makes sense 2. Some of the are really poorly thoughtout but mostly the problem lies in how they are implemented and made in the game environment. They spent over a year building up to the release of this update...do you really think they didn't know the pkers would scream "I quit" and foolishly parade around edge spamming the chat box?....They took all of that into consideration....how do I know that? Because I sit in many strategy/planning meetings, no successful company goes into something that will majorly affect their product without looking at all the applicable pros/cons...they also knew if they did not do something, the game would inevitably die, people will adjust, players wil join, life moves on...deal with it 3. There are at least 1 much better way to combat the unbalanced trade and the thing about rwts using unblanced trades. The 3k limit is just horror and will makes this game less fun when it is finally fully integretaded into the game in Jan. If you think only 1 % of ppl are unhappy with these updates, then add the thousands and more thousands in hordes that loan/borrow, give gifts, help friends, do services to ppl, clans that kill boss-monsters, are being friendly to other players and many more groups that really will hate the 3k limit. Those ppl are way more than a mere 1 %, try maybe 20 %, then add maybe 5 % extra of the pk:ers that don't fall into the just described group. 25 %, 1/4 of all players that do not like these updates at all. I would bet thare are several more % of ppl that haven't really understand the whole implication of these updates yet and how they will affect them negatively and some players that haven't red and seen the news yet. I can not for my life understand why Jagex did so many updates to get rid of the rwts when there are way simpler methods that do the same thing but still make up a thriving and living merchanting market (the 3k limit will succesfully kill that), boss-monster drops-dividing (3k limit also effectifely kills that). And then add a simple little adjustment to make it possible for loaning7borrowing, gifting and such too. There is no need for killing, pk:ing, merchanting, social interactions will doing buisness, boss-monster-hunting and some other aspects of the game. These updates are way to hastely done and implemented. If Jagex lived the live of an ordinary rs player for like a month they would see how flawed these updates would be and how much fun they kill. They do not have had to be made like they have been done now at all. pkers have a little box to play in where they will leave the VAST majority of players alone (who don't pay to play their game to include pking or being pked)..merchanting is why we all pay exorbiant prices for items...the loss of gifting does blow, as I can no longer give my RL wife who is much lower then I in abilities and stats, gifts from treasure trails....a price I and many are willing to pay to reap the other positive benefits Just to state some things to clear some things up: 1. I really do think that the rwt problem should be delt with and harshely too. It just the method for doing it is way to flawed as it is now! 2. I have never done any pk:ing nor will I ever, I just don't like doing it personally 3. I do very seldomly merchant, I make my own money otherwise, mostly by getting and then making items to sell myself. My aim when I sell is not do merchanting and make a profit out of it. I just sell it to ge the money I can. I usally sell for less than the normal price so I'm not trying to make profit out of the shere merchanting part of it. 4. I extremely seldom loan out things to my friends due to the even remote possiblity that they can scam me and keep the item and never return it to me. If you wonder what those "clever" alternative solutions are that I'm refering to, just take a look in the Bugs & Suggestion forum and look for a thread with me as the author. Nitram out.... Allow me to school you on how polls work.....they are never accurate, they are easily slid one way or another based on target audience, amount of people involved etc....you are foolishly assuming that all RS players come to tipit and register a vote in polls...you are foolishly assuming that the 20% who voted "I am a quitter" is ANY indication of a percentage of RS players.....numbers my lil friend...I know you probably have zero business experience, but that would make me the assuming one, so I will just deal with your pitiful little reply. One final note, If by some chance some of your so called *Cough* Friends *Cough* want to ever kill a Boss monster with you I hope you will enjoy not splitting the drop... I solo EVERYTHING. build some stats and you might be able to do the same.

Lord Smug LOVES the fact that his sandbox (98% of land space in RS) is annoyance free (pker-free for those who can't read between the lines). I did 4 clues yesterday that the hellhounds were tossing in my lap...and it was absoltely joyful to saunter through the wildy taking my sweet time doing my clues...saw 2 of those "new uber ghosts" they spoke of....um...ya... :roll: it was so delightful not to have to worry about packs of puppies yapping at my heels while doing my clues..... =D> I'll continue to enjoy my huge box, you play nice in yours :XD:

Best update ever, not a single friend on my thought otherwise...all adults...all 125+ combat, 12 of them mods... the SMALL portion of the players who pk (say 1%) are unhappy, well adjust or quit...they made you a little sandbox to go play in and pk each other til you puke, use it....the other portion of unhappy campers are the scammers and rwters....nuff said there. the 1 mil+ players who LOVE the update will adjust and move on quite happily. In the old wildy, if I saw a white dot, it was a rarity, compared to the nonstop masses of white dots outside of the wildy :-k do I need to paint a picture on where the majority of the players play?.....*pats pockets* nope, left my crayons at home. Great job Jagex, you just made a great game that much better. :thumbsup:

best update ever...well thought out and executed. The 1% or less players who pk, are falling all over themselves screaming "we quit"...buh bye....you can still pk, they made you a nice little sandbox to play in. deep pain..you are absolutely right, this is the rants forum afterall....I knew when I read the update, and logged into tipit, that I would see exactly what I saw....threads flying in with 3 lines of omg im quitting...blah blah...but for those like you, who I believe to be few and far between....your type of rs gaming, might have just gone away. :( It is obvious to me that you must have no mates, because this update will eventually ruin item lending to friends. Allow me to explain; Go in the wildy....to see ONE white dot....rare...I did 5 clues yesterday while slaying...5....white dots I saw? two...both seperate, and both ran as soon as they saw my lev....go outside of the wildy....white dots everywhere, heck its hard to find a quiet spot......so which should have the priority for consideration?...the .1% pkers....or the 99.9% skiller/slayer/trainers?....think about it...it may be the end of pking as we know it....but in reality, it was a waste of space. Time to move on and make the game enjoyable for the 99.9%. Yes I know, that number is purely pulled from the thin air.....put not to far off I think when you look at the number of players overall. SO people don't have the right to be annoyed at it because they are now a minority? I (no doubt lots of people say this) started playing RS 6 years ago. Personally I'm sorry but I see no point whatsoever in gettting lvls purely for the sake of getting lvls.. thus why 6 years and so many lvls under 50. and pretty bad combat too. You may see a reason in having lots of gp? you may see a reason in getting lvls to kill higher monsters to get higher lvls to kill higher monsters etc.. but I don't I see that as no skill just repeating an action. PKing was a skill, as you say PKing was dying anway, but it started dying on the day RS2 was realeased.. why? because it as a lot harder to get a kill solo PKing and a lot easier to die solo PKing due to clans. So yeah over the years maybe we have become a minority, but a lot of PK'ers have been playing RS a very long time most I know since classic, ok a lot of people rant, but did we care when people went and got 126 in 3 months in PC? no because usually its after they got 126 that they came in the wild and donated their items to us solo PK'ers cos they come in acting so big and mighty, but levels don't equate to PKing skill, PKing was perhaps one of the widest skills in RS that doesnt have a level. The amount of knowledge a good PK'er has about the wild and tactics is vast, compared to say a dragon killer or kalphite killer or farmer or woodcutter. Fine you may think us wothless because you got PK'ed by a group of 12 year olds, but that's exactly why I love the wild, No matter how good someone thinks they are you can kill them. they can kill you, ok you get a lot of lure teams, you get a lot of clans who have no idea about the wild at all, except group attack or tag teaming. But those people will still be in the wild or the "new wild". It's solo PKing that died today. Skillers all cried their little hearts out when low levels could fish and mine etc.. because of assist, they cried so much over something so trivial Jagex changed it. Solo PK'ers and there is lots of us, usually only play Runescape to PK, they are the people that are upset, they have lost the whole reason they have to play this game, there is no longer a reason. So yes they are upset and have every right to be upset, minority or not. To us this isn't something trivial like ohhh a guy with low fishing can catch shark now :-((. It's the entie reason we play runescape. you sir have the same, "lol ur dead omg owned rofl", attitude of the 12 year olds you seem to dislike in the wild. Solo Pking just died, the whole reason a lot of players play has just gne, and ur sitting there saying lol owned c ya. But TBH most of those 12yo pkers that killed you probably wouldnt have come on here saying how happy they are solo PKing was broken because they were once killed by a lvl 125, I'm so sorry for you, that you once got killed by a few kids and so happy you can now go in the wild without fear of being killed, because that's what the wild should be of course a nice safe place for lvl 125's who dont like being killed. well written reply, and you have some valid points. To set something straight though, I have been pked twice in my entire 3 years of playing, by the same three guys at greens, about 30 mins apart. They were clearly hopping worlds and pking their hearts out, very skilled, my lev or higher ( I was like low 100s at the time) and knew the art of switch hitting in single combat very well......never whined about it, I lost laughable items, and I moved on about my day. I have never pked, find it distasteful, however I have buried around 15 wannabes who had the audacity to jump me when I am doing a clue, and they seemed to dislike dds specs and ice barrage. I do respect the solo pker, because (except rc pkers) that takes real skill and power in my opinion.....unfortunately, you guys have been a dying breed for a long time...now its groups, clans, squads...whatever they want to call themselves.....who think they have accomplished something by group piling a single person.......it would be like watching 12 guys jump a guy in rl.....don't think thats cool or powerful either...just a bunch of spineless ppl who get brave in packs....so I am sad that a part of the game you cherish is gone....but in the grand scheme of things, I still feel it was for the greater good (RWT etc) as it affects a small number of players....I could be wrong....but doubt it as like I said, no white dots in wildy, or very very few.....masses outside...tells me where most people play. so no I wasn't venting because I had been pked once or twice, many have tried, and many have died. No I do not think I am all that, my combat skills are not even maxed (mage and range)...but I am very successful in surviving....due to skills and stats I suppose....I was saying I am glad the wildy is going, and the space could be beter utilized. peace

Few opinions; Love GE, nothing better then logging in and seeing 5+mil awaiting your collection....no more surfing the forums, bumping threads, standing around trying to sell the latest treasure trail bounty...edge tele, walk 50 feet, sell item. click submit, and with rare exception...instant sell. love it love it love it Wildy update =D> enough said there, but suffice it to say that pkers are a small number in comparison to the VAST numbers of players who dont pk, so what a waste the wildy was space wise.....I'd rather give my items to a NPC then a pker while cluing. duel update, dont duel, dont care :-w staking dont stake, dont care....but how many REALLY do? the game is evolving, evolve with it, or move elsewhere, I love the direction they are going.

[/hide] Yeah your just focusing on pking, what about the rest, merchanting they just drive up prices, the faster they die off the better it will be for the rest of us. boss hunting in a team You can still do this...unlesss you mean your buddy can't pick up your items upon death.....not to familiar with that or how the change affects it, so my opinion is irrelevent dueling never dueled, my opinion here is irrelevent helping out a friend I solo everything, but understand that is a problem with the update :-k drop parties etc.. true true...they got to do something to curb the RWT though, or like Andrew said, when you cheat, the game is cool and fun for a little while, but since it is no longer a challenge, they quit anyway. No it isn't jealousy, because I drop my monsters faster then they do, because the whip IS the ultimate trainer for hourly xp. Those occasional high hits look purty with the godsword, but the consistent 30-39 whip hits do more per hour Sure you may not like any or all of them.. but they are a key part of the game, and each one has a big member pool.
