  1. Just a free word of warning about posting nice pictures of your city(s), hide the building levels & don't give away the amount of resources you have or troops. In fact posting almost any information about your game can just be a free spy report to people looking. At the moment it's only a beta so it don't really matter, but in the long run this game will grow so think about what you're posting before you post it, people will use your information against you & this is a public forum. I've been looking through here & well if I was to search some of you in game, & found you near me you'd be very easy picking's you'd have no idea I was planning an attack because I don't need to spy, you've given me more then enough information on here about how weak you are lol, so just a word of warning if your looking to not get attack guy's and girl's be careful about what you post & how you go about it.
  2. Right, for attacking Wildland(s) without any losses to your troop, you need to use Archers they are the best: Archers vs Hally's 2:1 ratio Archers vs Swords 4:1 ratio Archers vs Chariot's 14:1 ration (100 Chariots need 1400 Archers to one hit) These ratio's can be less depending on the Crg lvl of your Legend & Army Attack Skill lvl. e.g my Archer vs Chariot ratio is 12:1 Never invade a wildland with Archers, as you will incur losses. Remember to make sure you have enough Archers to defeat each on the army's in the wildland with one blow using the above ratio & you'll be able to defeat as many legends as they have with one Legend & never losing a unit, for this you will need a Legend that can hold a lot of Archers. It's the best and way to play the game. Also take note that when you spy on a wildland (& you should always spy on them) under the Garrison information that is the order the enemy will appear in battle. As for being invaded/conquested you don't loss troops unless you have them set to ride out or your wall fails (which takes a fair amount) but you do loss resources that are not protected via warehouse.. so build these up to put people off attacking, if they spy & see nothing, there is a lot less reason to attack, also Hally's & Swords make for good defensive units, but Chariots would be the No1 when yo can build them. They are strong vs everything even Hally's. & once you can get them you'd only need them as defence. If you can get 2K Hally's & 1k Swords that would be a nice defensive start, also set them to ride out of the city so that the attacker will at least loss troops & you'll have made him think twice about a 2nd attack, remember if you are being attacked try to use up most of your resources so they gain less, message them & make role-playing style threats like you'll destroy them or even talk to them nicely use PM to contact them, if you have friends at a distance get them to send troops to attack the player, they can always pull out before the troops reach sometime the threat scares the attacker into withdrawing. If you've got 2 Garrisons like you should have, remember to build swords in one & Hally's in the other to speed up recruitment!
  3. I take it you either have RS/FunOrb membership or are a qualifying free player? Or are not banned from any of Jagex's official forums RS/funOrb.

The thing is we can say reserve 5 spots of the total at all times for TIF members that might come along, & also you're going to get people go inactive so you'd need a set time frame for removals of inactive people. All we have to do is fill it up with TIF members then add extra's if & when we need. I created the 2nd one ;) I am surprised no one has asked were the hell I've come from, randomly jumping in on the bandwagon, I never realised there was a TIF Alliance until I left my own Alliance & joined the Golden Army yesterday, now I'm interested to getting in with the Golden Horde when it starts on the "real" game. As for TIF exclusive, we need to see how many members we get playing first that are TIF exclusive.. We could recruit as we meet if there are not enough, but I think we should be picky about our members, maybe have trail periods if we recruit outside of TIF. I'm heading to bed, was on a night shift last night.

Racheya that's a start the thing is we don't need one leader & the leader does not necessarily have to be the person that creates the runs the Alliance at the time, what we do need is for some people to step up & start running things not one person but a few people, & the thing is if you was to run the Alliance, & we all start in one location we should be able to easily send you supply's. Or if it's not working out find someone else when & if we get to that. But myself personally although I'd like a position to be able to recruit people I'd not like to run the Alliance. But one thing to remember with all this is presentation is everything, if we look the business people will want to join. Now blowing my own trumpet a little here but look at these intro's based on just the intro which would you rather join?

She is a famous Legend, it told me that when I tried to rename her "Cannot rename famous legend", I have no idea were she came from I was doing so many things that day... could have been one of my attacks a reward from a task I have no idea!

I really don't mind which server, but I have a few suggestions for when the game is out of beta & we are starting up the Golden Horde. 1. We create a new post with a title saying something like "Official Tip.it Alliance the Golden Horde" 2. Inside it should have details of what server we are playing on & a location to start. (example: Ancient Forest) My reasons for this are once the game goes live it's sure to get a lot more attention & we want to be ready to start a recruitment drive having a thread ready to be posted the second it goes live will be a great benefit especially if we have a server & start location down so we can get a great footing within our chosen server, if we can get the thread started have it look professional & possibly get it pinned would be helpful. We also should plan a very professional looking post for the official WoL forums, & have it ready to be posted as soon as the game goes live, I think we should all work together here now to sort this future stuff out & we'll have an easy start to the game once out of beta, I am happy to lend a hand in anyway to get the preparations started for this if anyone wants to allocate jobs.. Someone needs to take the lead & I think it should be a forum mod here that should take the lead we need some people that are serious about this to make it work. I am one of those people!

Been a very long time since I used the forums :) Here are my Legend's been playing 9 days now on Golden Temple server, I'm the Golden Army Alliance & in the ancient Forest. Never played this game before on any other servers. [spoiler=Pic's of my Legend's]
  9. I still perform my bonehead moment everyday in RuneScape, helping newbs. I always end up helping someone, if I'd spent half the time training as I have helping people I'd be No.1 right now.. & giving the odd 10k away every now and again adds up... #-o

  13. That's true but remember there is going to be a higher character limit than the current 12 and use of characters which are currently not allowed. So that will give a few more options. Character limit is remaining at 12, saw that on the RSOF from Mod Duncan, I think its the 7 page in his sticky about it. He said that names will remain at 12 characters, but there is room to expand this in the future. But it is not planned to be released along with the name changing system. Only thing I want to do to my name is Change its format, from Roswellcrash to Roswell Crash which would require 13 characters..

  15. Didn't see anyone complaining about not meeting the requirements :? I saw people complaining about people asking if it would be fair to release the requirements early  With slightly biased opinion when I entered this, I thought it would not be a bad idea to release them early, but now I am thinking more to the side that they should not, as many have pointed out it makes the cape harder to get which is something I've always liked the idea of, just always hoped it would be based on the quest itself being hard rather then the requirements. Speaking of biased opinions, notice how all the people against are either not into Quests or have all 80+ or higher in almost every skill, and those for still have many in the 70's =D>

  17. I'd love to have the time to train every skill to 80, but for me realistically that's not something I'm going to be able to do any time soon, between work & my TA training I just don't have the time to put as many hours into RuneScape as I once did. This isn't something I'm going to be petitioning for, rather just interested in how others feel about the suspense. Jagex have already done it once, and if they where to release the information more often would players get upset about it is what I am interested to know, I myself am all for it as long as they didn't give information on required quests as they would give away the story line the Quest was based on. Because that would make a massive difference, tip.it (& many other sites) ruin Quests by releasing guides within 48hours (one of the things I strongly disagree with, that's where the "idiots" are "getting it").

  19. I do hope I am worrying over nothing! The main reason I asked this was to find reasons people had as to why it would be a bad idea, as obviously I am being biased to myself, but already "warren211" has come up with one reason people could dislike the idea. One thing about the release of a quest for which I don't have the requirements, is that I tend to find inhumane amounts of dedication that I've never show before to get the level as quick as I can. a recent one being "The Curse of Arrav" & the 66 Thieving requirement, for someone who can not stand the Sorceress' Garden boy did I get round that thing fast!

  21. Future skills would need a summon, Jagex are talking about new weapons that deal "other" types of damage, summons to match?.. Summons that take away a percentage of the damage you receive, the list goes on. Summoning is a great skill, and with new skills being added to the game they too would need there own summoning creatures :) Just my first thoughts on the matter ;)

  23. In light of the recent announcement that there is soon to be a Quest with several level 80+ requirements, should we be given a heads up on what the level requirements are? It would not have been the first time, on the 23rd of June 2009 Mod Mark released a developers' blog titled "Feedback and Blue Blocks" In which he gave the full Quest requirements of the quest "Forgiveness of a Chaos Dwarf" well over 2 month prior to the release of the Quest. With a future new quest being released with what I would consider fairly high req's (Anything over 80) would it be fair to give us a heads up on the required levels to complete the quest in advance of its release? Of course behind every post there is a reason, my personal reason is that I am rather worried about this new quest. I first completed all the quests in game back in December 2005 and maintained this till present day, I have spent the last 9-12 months not really playing RuneScape just logging on and doing new content & Quests but would like to be within range of the next req's for the quest as I do pride myself on completing every quest on the day of release since Dec 2005. So that is my reason for wanting a sneak peek at the new quest requirements, what do you think? Please post how and why you think this a good or bad idea.. Edit: Please note I am purely talking about level requirements & no other requirements as they could give to much of a hit to what the new quest is based on/about 2nd Edit: I've been convinced by the posters in this thread that keeping the requirements a secret is best all round, I think I am now siding with the idea of releasing the Quest requirements early is not a good idea, and they should be left a secret until the release date. I also enjoy the fact that it would launch me into training the skill and giving me something to work at it for, possible trying to get the skill to the required level & complete the Quest 24 hours after release =P~ I'd just like to remind everyone, this post is not about weather you agree with 80+ requirements but weather you agree with the idea of requirements being released before the Quest.

  25. I wanted to change my name from "Roswellcrash" to Roswell Crash" but after reading RSOF and seeing that the chariscter limit will remain at 12 upon release I wont be changing my name, although the same Mod Duncan did say they would more than likely change the character limit over time I will be changing my name to incorporate a space. If the name changes allow, I might just be happy adding the "c" on crash to a capital "C"
