  1. Fair enough, I just felt that the place being mostly empty and filled with nothing but basically zombies truly showed how beaten and broken he was. As his spy had mentioned earlier, he had cut all ties with his regular agents and just kind of retreated to play king and wait for death. He had given up, and this little bit was all he had left. I think if he had had this huge army then the consortium copy wouldn't have really made sense. Instead we have this broken old man playing with mindless dolls for all intents and purposes. It shows how far he really had fallen.
  2. I don't know. I seem like the only one who thought it was fitting that Hreidmar made an exact copy of the Consortium as his base. He was a defeated old man/dwarf whose dreams had been wrecked. He was already shown to be somewhat delusional, thinking that Zamorak himself had spoken to him. It fits with that sort of obsessive yet defeated nature to build a replica from which to rule.
  3. They seem to have a much better primal rate, yes.
  4. I'm not so sure, they almost look temporarily allied, most seem to be facing the barrows brothers.
  5. Unless we get the trees since there's not exactly a lot you can say about them. I could see them doing the trees or the sirenic without an actual BTS video, there really doesn't seem to be much to them to do a full video on. They could also lower the prices for the loyalty solomon's stuff, not sure its really an update though. Most likely it'll just be a no update week.
  6. Edgar's bird is a crow which is turn references Mod Crow. We know Mod Crow is working on this quest and so his work interests must obviously be placed somewhere similar to Laputa. Laputa is actually a place in the book Gulliver's Travels. Laputa is also a floating island much like the clan citadels. So with that we should expect to visit a grand citadel which houses Armadyl and a small sect of aviase culture and society. The Baton of Wind is an obvious reference to the Staff of Armadyl because a baton is a staff and wind is often used as reference to flying creatures. The inspiration part is pretty vague, but my guess would be the driving factor for the quests story. Armadyl has lost his staff and a large part of his avianse to the god wars. We know this quest will deal with Armadyls feelings of desolation after the supposed annihilation of his aviase. An uprising of positive emotion must come to help turn this around. Finding his inspiration might come from revisiting his homeworld and discovering there remains pieces of his flock left in the god wars dungeon. Yea, that sounds basically right except its Mod Raven and not his brother Mod Crow. Crow is in Community Management. I don't think they're the same since they had a specific podcast with Rowley about the World Gate quest and that seemed to hint at it being at least somewhat Zaros related. This week's podcast is talking to Raven about Rite of Passage which should be Armadyl related and Osborne hinted a few months back that it may involve his origins (although that may have changed since then). I mean I could be wrong but I think the last hint we had as to who had the World Gate was from the Book of Seren "Whatever my goddess's intentions, they were set aside when a great emptiness fell upon this world. It spread like a blight across the land - led by one who cared not to live in harmony with the world as we did, but sought to control all and bend it to its will. We even lost the World Gate to its insatiable hunger, and could travel no more to our crystal world of old." That implies that Zaros took it. In the podcast I think they mentioned to look at who was last known to have it.

  8. Don't forget warpriest for the Empty Lord. Hail Zaros, God of Fate, Master of Senntisten, Great Lord of Forinthry, The Eternal Puppetmaster!
  9. Yep, gilded mine yesterday while on my toolbelt and then used it to make imcando.
  10. Doesn't take very long imho. [hide]Exactly. I find it weird though, was hreidmar actually insane and been delusional about the statue since he was young, did he just want to believe it so hard that it became fixed in his memory over time, did he have the gnome or ogre change his memory to give himself more confidence in his plans and rightness, or was the gnome ambassador manipulating him? As far as Grimmson, it seemed like he was willing to support the Red Axe in exchange for removing his guilt. Seemed he'd do anything for that. I also wonder if his actions since he joined the Red Axe came into play with his final decision. Had his memories been returned earlier could he have been saved, or did he doom himself as soon as he killed the dwarf at Berendai?[/hide] How long it takes depends upon a lot of factors. The 4 pieces themselves weren't hard with the scouting chat used, maybe 15 minutes, however if you don't have the gilded pick or any of the gold outfit, I could see it taking a while.
  11. Definitely could not agree more it didn't even really resolve most of the stuff it did 'finish' in a decent way. The big villain of the whole thing it transpires did it all because Zamorak AND at some point between attacking us last quest and now just gave up on his whole evil plot so it didn't have to be explained. They drop the idea of restoring Hilda's memories 'later' only to completely ignore it, they have you pick whether to exile forgive or kill the 'spies' with seemingly no later effect/mention, Grimmson realises he had done wrong but instead of making the plot interesting and repenting just goes yolo I'll kill you anyway. The gnomes failed to be explained, as did the dworges and giants and the whole finale of consortium vs monarchy and settling the future was really underplayed. The story was nice, but very subpar compared to recent quests especially for a grandmaster finale that was supposed to tie everything off in a neat ending. Not to mention you can tell they spent the graphical budget on reskinning dwarf npcs what with the quest locations using a bunch of pre-existing places with no changes, plus a clone of the lava flow mine with minor alterations and a clone of the palace. I don't think he did it "because Zamorak". He did it because he believed he was the rightful ruler of Keldagrim, being the descendant of the previous king. I didn't really expect much from the gnomes at this point since this was supposed to be the end to the questline and gnomes have their own questline. His whole plot appears to have been to take over Keldagrim and take over as king, which had seemed to be what the previous quests were suggesting. The lava flow mine clone didn't need to be done, but I thought that re-using the consortium was in character. His dreams of ruling Keldagrim was shattered, he was a bit insane, so he built a replica to rule. Could it have been better, probably, but I think it was decent overall.
  12. Sounds like mage was the way to go with this one. I found it hard but I was using mellee.
  13. No, I collected all 4 pieces with only regular dragon pickaxe in my toolbelt. Then gilded it afterwards.
  14. woooooo, beat it. That was one of the best battles in quite a while [hide][/hide]
  15. Its because the Dwarf Quest is still planned for this week. Jagex probably still consider it a September update because the week started with September 30. So, Its not because the update isn't coming, its just because its not really an october update.
  16. Why? It'd just cause needless confusion to randomly invert the crystal bow from a short bow to a shield bow now and equally it would do the same to invert dark bow from a shield bow to a short bow at this point. It makes perfect sense, if adding in 'normal' wood bows at 60 to simply slide the dark bow up to lvl 70 thereby completing the lvl 70 tier with a shield bow to compliment the existing short bow. From a lore perspective I could see items from seren being more protective. From a gameplay perspective it seems easier to keep it as it is and move the dark bow.
  17. Hmm, I don't remember them saying the animations would be the only rewards. It'll probably be something like the ozan quests, where its a novice quest but then there's some extra stuff that require high levels. Like the apmeken and scabaras masks.
  18. How was Bol delayed? all they'd said previously was that it would be ending this week. And, I think the first notice we had about the Dwarf Quest being this week and not last week was because a J mod posted it in the future update forum.
  19. They didn't in the bts, but have said that they plan to make it possible later, but they hadn't decided how at the time. http://www.reddit.com/r/runescape/comments/1kckny/quick_question_how_can_we_reclaim_our_warpriest/cbnmejh?context=3 here's a comment by Mod Raven on the runescape subreddit.
  20. Sy basically covered my stance on this. I wouldn't consider any of those decisions unethical...probably would consider them stupid though.
  21. I don't know, It's possible that Andrew knew that something would have to be done and left so that he wouldn't have to be here to see it happen. I don't think what they're doing is unethical. I think its perfectly ethical, but I still agree that 5 years ago the community would have been rioting, but a lot has changed since then. Squeal had already made the game pay to win to a certain degree. The RPG aspect is still in the game, what they've nullified is some of the achievement and work behind it. However, it appears that a large portion of the community had already nullified that. Whether you agree with Jagex's number or not, several polls have come out such as the reddit one that have shown that there were around 30% of the community rwt'ing before bonds even came out. This surprised me because reddit seemed to be a community relatively hostile to rwt'ers and if they had 30% then its possible Jagex's numbers were closer than I'd like to believe. We had the appearance of a generally level playing field without actually having one. Was the appearance of a fair field when there wasn't one preferable to a field where its much clearer, I'm not sure..possibly. However, I think this system has some benefits. It does allow those who can't afford or don't want to pay in real life the ability to earn membership and solomons stuff completely through ingame work. So, in some ways this system benefits those who by real-life circumstance would be unable to play otherwise. I must admit this system will benefit me, there's a lot of solomons stuff that I want that I couldn't afford. Ultimately, I think its an opinion. 5 years ago I would have been extremely angry at this, but today as I think about it, I think the benefits outweigh the negatives considering that whether it was 40-50% as Jagex said, 30% as the reddit poll said, or even less than that 10-20%....the field was already unfair. This at least allows those of us who refuse or can't afford to buy gold to benefit.
  22. I almost wonder if they'll combine the rebuilding of lumbridge with the bonds for charity thing they have planned for November. Donate bonds for Lumbridge's recovery in-game and a real charity gets the money. I don't know. The concept art is weird since it could be eastern lands or armadyl/citadel related but looks cool.
  23. Except that's exactly what Jagex did. Jagex hasn't controlled the gp price of bonds at all. The gp price of bonds can rise and fall as players trade them.
  24. Timbo posted similar to what I was saying, but better than I did.
  25. To me it kind of makes sense to make this novice. It seems like this is the start of a new quest chain, or at least of a few new quests. The whole purrpose of the 6th age and quest reset was so that all these quests that were coming out after TWW wouldn't require grandmaster stats. So it makes sense for a lot of the new god content to build back up instead of starting off as master and grandmasters. Whether Sliske is a God or not seems like beginner level stuff for the 6th age. I for one loved Death of Chivalry from a lore and story standpoint. I don't really care about the difficulty and reqs of the quests. If they can give us more in-depth quests like DoC, then I don't mind that its a novice quest.
