  1. It seems like he used it enough to try to use it as almost a reflex in the book of the gods "It seems there is no life on this world. I can see the seeds of life, but not life itself. I feel myself reaching for my staff, to give those seeds a spark of energy, a push to catalyse their efforts... But it is gone."
  2. Because they've offered a ring reset in the past, for a similar reason? Because DG tokens aren't the same as money? Because players training the skill don't have enough of them to waste on useless options before the mid-100s? Because the skill's rewards are tied to the player's experience? Because some players still have available resets from the first time, as it's part of the ring interface? Because the changes have more of an effect on gameplay now than they did then? Did I miss anything? Remember that Berserker was still considered the best ring upgrade, people just changed their weapons to take advantage of it. The people who the reset helped most were people that bought ring upgrades before they/anyone developed their playstyles. In this case, they've flat-out changed the effects, or the mechanics behind them, without offering the same. Tactician is the same, Berserker changed into an accuracy boost. Desperado didn't change, but ranged level has next-to-no impact on damage now. Blazer went from a 50% increase to flat damage that was weaker than a basic ability (And, until recently, overwrote that ability). I'm honestly having trouble figuring out why that's so hard to understand. It's more like not offering players a ports reset if they changed armor to T75 without telling anyone, when they offered the same for not clarifying whether it was offensive or defensive. Because they've offered a ring reset in the past, for a similar reason? - Having precedent does not necessarily mean it's a good idea. Example: bonus xp weekends. Because DG tokens aren't the same as money? - Dg tokens are a currency that takes longer to acquire than rsgp. They both represent time spent doing something (earning money or training dg). Because players training the skill don't have enough of them to waste on useless options before the mid-100s? - Agreed Because the skill's rewards are tied to the player's experience? - Don't really understand what you're getting at. Seems like this is how all skills work. Because some players still have available resets from the first time, as it's part of the ring interface? - I believe having resets in the first place was a mistake. Because the changes have more of an effect on gameplay now than they did then? - Wasting tokens on dg rings that became useless is really a drop in the bucket when I look at things like specials being removed and the whole "port armor will get set effects" fiasco. People spend time earning gear/boosts all the time which are later nerfed. I'm not arguing that we shouldn't get a reset this time, i'm saying having them at all was a mistake. I mean what is the difference between dg rings not mentioning they only work on strength mode and pneumatic gauntlets' examine text falsely claiming that they make you hit higher (which has since been changed). The difference is you got an option to get your dg tokens back, but not your money. I think people should get a reset even though I don't particularly want one and doubt I'd use it. The major difference between this and stuff that costs money is that this situation is such an easy fix. Tokens used on ring are a set value and they were never tradeable so you don't have to worry about larger economic repercussions or items having changed hands. In a perfect world mistakes like Jagex made with gloves would be easy to fix, but it isn't, that doesn't mean that they shouldn't fix the problems they caused that are easy to fix.
  3. Dust Devil mask is decent for a quick telly into chaos tunnels without crossing wilderness. I also like the Jadinko and abby demon mask once ya have the levels for the task.
  4. One thing I thought was nice was that the community or at least the high level community did well with vorago. A person on the High level forums set up a fc and a list for getting the death-blow on vorago. The highest one on the list still alive when it came time to deal the final hit was the one that got the maul. Made it relatively easy to get my trim back and they didn't charge a thing. I wouldn't mind them spreading out the requirements for trim more though, I do find it weird that some minigames have rather huge requirements and others have next to none.
  5. And Guthix only stabbed Tuska, he wasn't impaled upon it with him. The Elder Weapon seems just to be the conduit for siphoning power. We've got confirmation that he wasn't a god after TWW through a Q&A but that doesn't mean he couldn't have siphoned a bit of power briefly. Guthix blinded Tuska, but he got his powers from killing Skargaroth. Your point remains because he wasn't impaled then either, just clearing up some facts.
  6. I also though they at least alluded to needing RS3 for leveling familiars and such.
  7. Doubt it. He's been dead for a long long long long long long long time and what point would there be in talking to him in a quest specifically about Death? It'd make sense to see his ghost or spirit in the elf series, but why in a standalone death-centric quest? There aren't really any other major dead elves besides baxtorian and glarial are there? I would think seeing him in a quest that might involve the underworld would make a lot of sense.
  8. Gonna go out on a limb and make a couple guesses....The Cave and all that landscape there is Vorago. Need skillers to do some stuff like mine away the rock to uncover the area beneath that needs to be attacked.
  9. http://runescape.podbean.com/2013/06/21/above-the-lore-ep-4-sliske/ above the lore episode 4 is out Secrets of Sliske.
  10. That would make sense, although I must admit I was hoping Armadyl would take over one of the citadels.
  11. I'm wondering if they're just doing parallels between the Zarosian empire and the Roman one. Both speak latin and don't really care who you are as long as you submit to them. Idk. This would also presuppose that Ocellus or at least his race was Zarosian.
  12. I assume you haven't finished the History of the Order?
  13. I'm wondering if we were recruited as a replacement for Virius since if you've done the lorebook and used it on him after you can see that he was kind of a failure. It would make sense if his job was originally convincing people not to worship gods and he was replaced that we would be given a somewhat similar role. Oh one thing I kind of forgot to mention, but was an undertone to the mortals being recruited concept. The guardians are mortals and with Virius I think try are trying to portay that they are prone to mistakes and aren't whole divine and righteous (despite how the gods might feel they themselves are, but really aren't). To me it shows more that Guthix was fallible and had some bad judgement. So, it makes more sense to reject his belief that gods are always negative.

  15. Yea, I have no problem with f2p armours, especially if its a way for members to make cash, I'm just thinking these armours may be level 60 or 65 tops.
  16. The updates they are showing look cool, if the dragonstone armour is the best f2p armour it may help it keep its value. I don't really know what to expect out of those chests but i'm expecting the armour to be pretty lackluster for p2p just because it is f2p and I doubt they'll want f2p armours going too high in stats.
  17. We are talking about Jagex.... When have they delivered what they have promised? I don't know about yourself, but I first started playing Runescape believing what was told to me by Jagex, as recent as the past 12mths with the developing of EOC and that it would be the future way to play the game, only to have it turned around because obviously EoC was bad for 'business' so they milked the opportunity for all they could and reproduced '07. When I first started playing, that was the 'ideal game' and as it progressed it became the 'realistic game', both being worlds apart. I would prefer PMods to be able to instant remove a bot as they do with spammers for one.... that is an 'ideal' example of course when the 'realistic' is that it is bad for business to have such powers give to ordinary players because of the amount of bots that are in both versions of the game. Also because P mods could be wrong and giving them the ability to remove players from the game would be amazingly stupid. Even worse than giving regular players with little accountability the ability to mute players in-game.
  18. That could be interesting, but I was thinking maybe it would be the raptor fighting Tuska. They had mentioned the whole big game hunting thing and Tuska was relatively recently introduced and seems to be a giant Boar.
  19. Are we still talking about Jagex here? PMods are still useful for their muting abilities. I've been in FCs and CCs where no one could kick the spammer, because and admin wasn't online, and so the spammer sat there for hours until one showed up. In that case, a PMod would still be useful and have a role to play. Look at when I used to sell floors. Before I became admin of Sell Dung, I couldn't kick. If it was late at night, our terrible "rivals" would send spam bots into our FC advertising their FC and their prices. Sure, I could add them to my ignore, but our customers come in and see that. Do you think the customers will also ignore? No, they react with, "Freaking hell, this FC's getting spammed to shit. I'm going to [other FC]". Sure the ignore list is there. Sure we should use it. But should we have to? Don't take this as a personal attack, simply using it as an example you can relate to, but weren't (aren't) you not allowed to curse in Team Walmart because people shouldn't have to use their chat filters? I don't want to go to DG to sell floors and get so annoyed by the spam that I have to use my ignore list. PMods are (sometimes) good at muting spam bots in popular places, such as DG worlds, and as such still have a role. I have zero people on my ignore list and, thanks to PMods, it'll hopefully remain that way. :). Admins should police their own chats, if they choose not to then form a new chat. Having P mods around to answer to the individual chats just breeds corruption. You can start by having them just mute spammers in your fc, then move onto having them mute your rivals outside the chat. I am not in anyway saying thats what you did, just that its been done before and the best way is to just make sure the chat has someone with kicking power on at all times.
  20. Really? You need someone to protect you from the big bad bogey men on the Internets? That’s your reason why you think PMod’s aren’t redundant? FYI, there's a reason why there's an ignore feature and it works really well. Personally, I've found that it's done away with most of the trash in the game ... And I use it often, that is why the trash on the game is exactly where it should be..... and you missed the point totally again, like usual. The report system as it stands is redundant to say the least, Jagex does not always follow up on mutes and I find that it is amusing that you point out the ignore feature to me after numerous 'in game' encounters with players like yourself, that is why there is an ignore button, to remove that distaste from the game, but there are situations which call for something immediate, e.g. in penguin chat, this week in fact, a player was being extremely racist against a country's people and Canada Girl, who of course takes time to make the penguin locations available every week to players such as yourself, and the filter would not filter it out because there was no actual 'language' problem, but as you know, a player can get around this quite easily, I have done so myself so a 'police man', as you put it, is not what I am looking for. And since your opening response was complaining about what you couldn't do on the game, because of your own inabilities is quite astonishing, you brought in all aspects such as the HLF, completionist cape requirements or at least game content being focused more on the high end of Runescape and from all observations, Pmods were brought into it because again, it was something unavailable to yourself, yet I know of players, personally that have used other Pmods to promote their personal approval in the game and there fore trying to manipulate an outcome suitable for themselves rather that the good of the game. The reporting system fails on its own and the ignore list needs to be increased, in an ideal Runescape there would be no need for them, but this is not an ideal Runescape, it does not matter what argument you use as far as other players helping out other players, I know myself, I have closed my public chat off because of lower level players assuming because of the level of the other player, then automatically the 'begging' emote should be enforced. So then we have a classic 'put everyone on ignore, switch off the public chat and limit your interaction in game with other players', if that is the case then why not eliminate all forms of public chat? You cant do that because of the game itself. So in effect, what you are saying is remove all Pmods on a form of prejudicial grounds because some players may look up to them in game because they are in a position to stand out from the rest of the community, hmmmmm....and put faith in and just rely on the in game reporting system to eliminate all the trash from the game. I do not have the faith to only have one form offered in game. I speak from experience there. I find the comment laughable at the big bad bogeyman on the net, there are also big bad bogeywomen , perhaps you should enlighten yourself with the internet outside of this game, oh wait.. an example that comes to mind quite easily is that there is a large proportion of young impressionable players on this game and that anyone with children who allow them to play would also appreciate that there are promises to ensure that it is a safe environment, we all cant be as loud mouthed and obnoxious as myself on Runescape. It is not only the young player either, it goes right across the board as far as the age goes. Just a thought.... So now, apart from the usual copy and paste, give me one reason why you do not want them in game. If its within a chat then it should be up to the people running the chat to kick them. I agree the ignore list should be increased, but deal with begging and such should not really be the job of a p mod anyway so i'm not sure why that should be involved in the conversation. P mods however are relatively useless at the moment and the only way to make them useful would involve great amounts of work on Jagex's part. The ignore feature works better than any P mod ever could and while it does need to be increased p mods rarely do anything that actually helps the current state of the game. They're just players with too much power and too little oversight. Any way to make P mods useful would involve a great amount of involvement from J mods so why not just cut out the middle men and put J mods in charge that can actually be held accountable.
  21. People should be allowed to choose what they listen to, I wouldn't object to expanding ignore list. If they choose to listen to the behaviour then its really not my business, Jagex has given people the tools to ignore these people and whether they choose to use them or not we do not need someone else coming in with the ability to make snap decisions and exert their own will over everyone else.
  22. Hail Zaros, can't wait for the emissaries.
  23. Interesting prospective, many feel the same. :) I well be honest, a few months ago...We pretty much muted nothing, but we are muting more and more. Albiet it's serious things now, you're not going to see muting for "Kiss my @ss", but serious things that leads to major disruption, or threats. The issue in the past was so many corrupt moderators and power abusers (IMO), Jagex does not want that. Jagex wants player to protect the community, not ruin the experience. We don't want to ruin others experiences either, we are players, not above normal players, we simply try to protect those from serious threats. I'm not sure if I can cite recent examples of what has been taken out by PMods, that auto-mute couldn't do, but overall P-Mods are I feel coming back slowly, we aren't going to be muting like in the past (I wasn't a mod back then, but I know from seeing what some of muteable stuff was), as that really was piety stuff, IMO. I look for stuff such as mass spamming of chat, racism, seriously explicit discussion, ect. And I do want to emphasize why Jagex wants us involved in community, not so much in events just involved...In past the only role was to mute, they want us balanced, not just muters but they want us to be connected with the community. I fully understand that...You need to know the community if you're goingt to take action in it...I shouldn't be given mute ability and not understand the community. For example, your post don't make me mad, at all. I understand why you see us the way you do, I can relate in some form or another. While I don't want to see P-Mods removed, I understand you're not attacking me but the role overall, and I believe a lot of P-Mods in past didn't grasp this either....Hopefully more and more are. :) From what I've seen through the years, moderators overall are a great group of people...And so are all RS players, there are just a few bad apples in the regular community that ruin it for everyone. I wish moderators weren't needed, but I doubt a utopia is possible. :P mass spamming of chat, racism, seriously explicit discussion....all of this stuff sucks seeing in-game but thats what the ignore list is for. It seems like you're just there as Jagex P.R. pep squad now to prevent people from seeing anything negative. I'm not sure any of that is worth muting someone's account for days over especially when there's no context and its not happening in some extremely busy area. besides can a mute prevent the swastikas made out of burning logs and such, I once saw someone spell out racial epithets with logs. You can't really do anything, and I'm not sure you should. If Jagex wants the game censored then they should bring back the censor otherwise leave it alone and let the ignore lists do their work.
  24. Personally the issue I have is that P Mods in general seem to want to be regular players, if you're going to have the special status you should be required to go after the rulebreakers and such. If Jagex wants to make P Mods useful they should have J mods around 24/7 that can respond to any P Mod reports of heavily botted areas and check them out to ban the bots. I know its possible because they used to do some P.R. stunts where they'd show up at a few heavily botted areas like zmi altar and ban a few bots then call it mission accomplished. Thats really the only way I can see P Mods becoming useful is with J Mod assistance. Jagex just isn't willing to put in the effort to make P Mods useful and in many ways it seems some P Mods don't want to be made useful because they have their goals in the game too. I don't like the idea of more go-betweens for Jagex and the community, Jagex should be doing it directly but instead we get these offsite interviews we need to track down, or these podcasts that we either need to tune into their show or wait weeks and hope someone bothered to record it. Jagex seems to go out of their way to prevent the community from having information and adding another layer is just a bad idea. If you truly want information to go throughout the community then P Mod forums should be readable by everyone but only P Mods can post. I'm sorry its not very helpful but its true, every job P Mods can currently do would be much better done by Jagex, and any job to make them useful would require major back-up support by Jagex to make it work.
