Do you feel bad for hobos? EDITED.
Even some kids who do have family can't turn to their family. Some aunts, uncles or even grandparents are idiots, there's usually bound to be one in every family.

translation of nothing but the word "lol" - I'm not really laughing, I just can't be f*cked talking to you! Just got this in my email... Little RALPHY returns from school and says he got an F in arithmetic. 'Why?' asks the father? 'The teacher asked 'How much is 2x3,'' I said '6', replies RALPHY.. 'But that's right!' says his dad. 'Yeah, but then she asked me 'How much is 3x2?'' 'What's the f...... difference?' asks the father. 'That's what I said!

Study: "White People Avoid Race Topics"
My family heritage is Pom, so I'm as white as a ghost. I admit before I went to university I quite often avoided the topic of race. Now that I've gone through multi-cultural psychology and lived in the largest Aboriginal population it's a lot easier to speak of race. I still avoid it though, there's no real point in talking about it when I can think of better things to talk about.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
If it's in brisbane, we have a spare room  My first ever serious boyfriend was a long-distance relationship. It lasted for 3 years, he was in California and I was in the Northern Territory. His dad was the owner of waterford crystals so it's not like their family couldn't exactly afford to send him down as much as they did  It didn't last but I wouldn't go back and change things. I often wonder if things would have worked out but meh I'm happy where I am. I guess what I'm saying is I would have never of forgiven myself if I didn't at least try. I knew it would be bloody difficult, I knew there would be pain, I knew it probably would never work out but I gave it everything I had. And it was an amazing experience and some of the best memories of my teenage years. So for everyone being so negative about it, stfu. If the guy wants to gain some life experience, don't try to talk him out of it. He's doing something that makes him feel happy and I doubt he'll listen to any of you anyway. Love makes you do what you want to do and to hell with everyone else. By the way, my ex is now a manager of a multi million dollar camera business. Why? Because he was able to engage in small talk about the places we had been together as teenagers, travelling. He was hired and promoted because he was able to relate to his customers who all wanted to go overseas and needed the best camera! And if I hadn't of ever met him I wouldn't have been able to look back to my past and get myself out of some horrible relationships. I was able to look back and say "this isn't how a man should treat a woman, I need to get out of here!" Funny how things work out in the end anyway.

The Intergration of Social Networking Between Work and You
I don't mind joining their group but I would never allow any of them access to my personal page. My work life and home life are completely separate and always will be. If I went out to get [cabbage] faced on a Saturday night, it's not my boss's prognosis to know.

What kind of help is available to homeless people in those circumstances? You should know, since you said so.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
I believe that 16 year olds can be in love but I think it's a different type of love. When you get older, I don't think it becomes "true love" but I think the love matures a little. I would think it was viewed in a different way. And if people were still trying to find love at 30, there's usually a reason for it. As for the long distance relationship thing, go for it. Who cares if it doesn't last, gain some life experience and learn from it. My younger friends say "oh you're so wise!" I'm like... well not really I just screwed up so many damn times. And that's the truth, I never listened to anybody and did everything the hard way. When you screw up enough, eventually you learn the lesson everyone was trying to point out to you pretty well! You just need to weigh up whether it's worth the hassle or not.

Do you feel bad for hobos? EDITED.
You didn't have to edit anything but at least you're being more open minded and learning something. This could be something you could teach someone else or even one of your friends or family members who used to think the same way you did at the beginning of this conversation. What's the point in having a psychiatrist if everyone can diagnose their own mental problems? It can take over 7-10 years of study and up to a lifetime of first-hand experience to diagnose. Even people who have 20 years experience can misdiagnose and that's because the human brain is so much more complex than we know of. I know doctors who hand out wrong medication prescriptions for disorders! If only it was that easy for people to get help, to diagnose themselves, to adjust their chemical imbalances so they can recognize that something is wrong. This is almost cute that you think people have the ability to overcome something that the world's greatest researchers and specialists can't even get right. Oh to be young, the world was such a better place :P

Tend to agree with reb and quoi, common sense says, if you can't move but she's moving away then have a long distance relationship, stay in contact and be friends or move on with life. Oh people have such difficult questions

Beginning of the End of the Drug War?
So if you're not credible and you make things up, nobody will read your posts. So what is your value to this thread/board? If you don't care about you, then who will? Note to self... completely ignore your posts from now on.

 and how does that make you feel, Reb? just kidding. I don't know much about his mum at all but from what I do know she is a good person. Reb has quoted previously that parts of me remind him of his mum, so maybe that's a good thing or maybe even a bad thing, who knows.

Beginning of the End of the Drug War?
It's very easy these days to go to google or even google scholar for really good research articles. By reading and accessing them alone you will come to realize this is a pretty "postmodernism" society. Question the people who told you, who says? Are they reliable sources just because they say so? Who do you believe, your health teacher who is doing their job feeding the students with half facts, half propaganda, or scientific research with actual research data? Educated E users themselves probably have a better understanding of the drug than your teacher, although who probably only has good intentions.

Good statistics Warrior, most people I know who have ended up homeless at one stage or another were from family conflict so that makes a lot of sense. There are also debatable grounds for why the homeless use drugs, for example to self medicate mental disorders, many suffer from anxiety, which makes sense for alcohol being the most consumed (minus points such as being cheaper, easier to access, availability of the substance), a coping mechanism for childhood or adulthood trauma etc

Beginning of the End of the Drug War?
Please share with us the online reports and studies. I'd like to know the reason why this person died. My bet is they didn't educate themselves. Lack of water, therefore cooking their insides, too much water and causing the lungs to collapse, therefore drowning, drinking alcohol which dehydrates you quicker, which then leads back to "lack of water", or quite simply they were stupid enough not to test it or buy it from a complete stranger who mixed it with toxic substances. Although there are kits available where you can test the purity. If you actually educate yourself with the drug or educate the person who is about to take the drug, I absolutely disagree that complications are higher with E than any other drug. I don't believe your last sentence anyway. It's best to provide a source when you give such a brick-wall-in-the-face statistic such as the one you provided.

With an answer like that it's my opinion that you haven't tried to get a degree in anything either. So should I hate you? Is it your fault that you're not well-informed? Should I form a conclusion that all people who don't post informative answers don't have degrees in anything and that it's their fault for not being informed? 1. People don't need degrees to make it big in this lifetime. Use the internet as a tool, the kids who created google in their backyard probably didn't have degrees in anything. I went to university and studied a few diplomas they increased skills but it didn't make me wealthy. I should probably mention I was practically living in the streets when I was 16, too. [edit] Not by choice btw, my loser boyfriend stole all of my money and got us evicted by not paying the rent with it. 2. A lot of incredibly intelligent people use drugs. Albert Einstein enjoyed a good puff of cigaweed. There's also scientific evidence that some psychoactive drugs can increase your IQ for short periods of time. 3. Some may but that's why I don't donate money. I take them to a place of their choice and buy them whatever they want to eat and drink.

I think Reb, like myself, has little tolerance for bull [cabbage]. I don't think he gives a crap about what people post on here, only about the people who actually took something from it. That, and I think he knows how inspiring his mother is and has no problem sharing her wisdom.
