It's different everywhere, here in Brisbane (not sure about all universities) the highest is a 7.0

I pictured a group of random bald guys in suits who look like [wagon] waiting in line behind one guy humping awkwardly but hilariously a taller guy, with a full head of hair, and a fancy looking suit when I read that. And you wouldn't be far off ;)

Here's another thing I hate... People who stick together with the same titles (examples... managers) and they all stick up for one another, even when one of them or even more of them are blatantly lazy and not doing their job properly. Then when someone comes along to point out the mistake to better the workplace (example... to the CEO), that CEO then sticks up for the managers who have blatantly done the wrong thing because they're so egotistical that they can't stand someone pointing out their mistakes. Oh btw these CEO's usually only get their positions because they know somebody who knows somebody who knows somebody, not because they actually have any experience (and are doing a terrible job because they care more about being liked than doing the right thing). They're the one's with "oh so important" titles in front of their names and so they stick together and "dry hump" (if you will) each others legs and preach that they could do no wrong. Here's a tip to all the "managers" and "ceo's" - sticking together doesn't work, it just makes you look like a bunch of egotistical, ball-less, morons who can't stand to be told you're doing a lousy job. Sticking together doesn't help your business it promotes bitterness, nastiness, segregation and you lose your loyal customers and fellow employees. So if there's any reading this: here's a tip for you! - get over yourself the reality is that in every day life you're a nobody so now that you have a title in front of your name, you feel powerful and it goes straight to your head. People who do this fail and when they fail, they fail HARD. Because leaders who succeed actually listen and are open to areas of improvement. They realize that the title in front of their name is exactly that, a title.

Here's a few photos from my hometown Victor Harbor (population 12,000) Some things that have changed since I was little: 1. Both castles have been demolished 2. The 2 houses I used to live in are the only houses left standing across from the beach, the rest have been demolished to make way for hotels and apartments. 3. You used to be able to walk across to granite island to see the penguins, now you have to pay to see them! 4. The only fast food outlet Victor Harbor had was a KFC, now it's packed with take away joints  my poor little hometown isn't the same anymore, they've ruined it and tried to turn it in to a tourist attraction. Here is the island photographed from the top of "the bluff" (whale watching mountain) Meet Mac - He's one of the horses who pulls the tram across the bridge you see in the photo above. Each horse does 3 trips a day. Boo this is me Something you will see everywhere... pine trees. Really really tall ones. Here's the oldest tram horse Thomas, he's the rebellious one

Gday friends, back from Adelaide! So.. stayed with my cousin for the week and met up with an online friend and did lunch (good fun!) she's a single mum with a baby daughter (so gorgeous). Got to my cousins, she had her Christening for her daughter Elyse (beautiful gown) and so Brent met about 50 of my friends and relatives in a matter of 5 minutes (poor bugger). Drove down to Victor harbor (one of the most dangerous roads in Australia at night time) it was sad to see all the black markers where people had died or the red one's where there were serious accidents. Got to visit the two houses I grew up in, ironically enough they're the only ones left on the street the rest have been knocked down to make way for hotels and apartments (we used to live across from the beach). They knocked down the two castles!!! WTF!! and then Brent and I caught the horse tram across Granite Island, saw the penguins, played mini golf, drove up to the bluff to see if we could find any whales. Then it was my nanna's funeral and it was absolutely beautiful. It was the first open-casket funeral I had ever been to and she looked SO BEAUTIFUL. She looked about 45 years old again, all the wrinkles had gone from her hands and her face. I was going to go up and do a speech but the lady didn't ask again after my uncle went up. I cried during his speech, it was so touching. He got up and told us how he was trying out for AFL and nan came along to watch him and he was KO'd. He woke up and she had jumped the fence, tackled the coach to get to her son and wipe the blood off his face and he said "and that's what a mother does". She battled her whole life with mental illness but she cherished her family, her family was her hobby. And today Brent bought me a beautiful bracelet was $780.00 but managed to get the sales rep down to $550.00, said no I can do better than that! Went for a walk, came back she's like "I can do it for $480.00... but no lower" I'm like hmm I'll have another look around... came back again shes like "$440.00 but I can't do any more" I'm looking at it umming and ahhing then she's like $410.00 so I'm like "deal". Then she goes "Oh let's make it 400 even". So there's a lesson for all you girls out there, THEY CAN GO LOWER!!! :D ;)

I used to smoke 16's (Rothman's - It's a New Zealand cigarette and bloody expensive :wall:) and was a very heavy smoker for a few years. This is how I quit: 1. Smoke a brand you hate - I was very used to these fine cigarettes and when I got home I had no money so was forced to smoke the cheapest brand. It tasted so horrible that I thought twice before I lit one up and over time I no longer wanted to smoke. 2. Write down the situations you'd find yourself wanting a cigarette. Usually drinking is a good one, so avoid situations where you drink a lot. When you drink alcohol the nicotine receptors are blocked and so your brain perceives that it hasn't had enough nicotine/ therefore craves more nicotine/ therefore you go through more cigarettes. Or even social contexts, perhaps you smoke more around certain friends etc, so what can you do instead of it? 3. Lollies - Prepare yourself for weight gain if you choose this option but it does work. When you feel like a cigarette reach for a lolly or a lolly pop, suck on that. 4. Don't hang around smokers. Fact - If you live in a house full of smokers and you're trying to give up (in particular husband and wife) you have a higher percentage of failing because you're not doing it together. It's the same as dieting, if you want to lose weight, do it with the person you live with and do it together. Good luck quitting smoking! Interesting, they actually recommend this in youth groups for self harmers :P

I have plenty of friends who take drugs and they respect that I don't do it anymore because I have a baby to take care of but I sit down with them, I don't judge them and help to educate them properly if they're going to put something in to their body. And it is helpful because they then tell their friends who tell their friends, who tell their friends. And it may help somewhere down the line. Whatever floats your boat, I agree with doing what you please with your own body but I do believe people need to be educated PROPERLY on the usages of the drug so they know real facts/risks (not the propaganda bs) before they make any decisions. The education at the moment is extremely poor and I would like to see more substance abuse counsellors give health lessons. If I had a dollar for every doped up teenager I came across and asked them whether they knew x...y...or z about smoking marijuana and they didn't even have a clue. Sure do whatever you want with your body but jesus christ, at least educate yourself on what you're putting in there. I'm not trying to be rude either but people should have a little bit of respect for themselves.

1. My middle name is Kate 2. I can play pretty much anything by Mozart but can't read music I play by hearing, also self taught drummer. 3. I have size 9 feet 4. My eyes change colour from different shades of grey, blue, green, hazel 5. I'm currently studying children's services via home correspondence - I probably won't do anything with it either. I just like to learn about behaviour, in particular youth.

I can speak from first hand experience as well seeing as my anxiety stems back to the time I first started to smoke pot ;) professionally diagnosed too mind you. Nobody would realize that I live with it, I look normal, I'm intelligent, I went to uni, never been below management in a job, have plenty of friends yadda yadda. Sorry Ven - I was about to address your post too but I had to look at some houses. That is a good study but what exactly has the study got to stand by? Yes marijuana usage has increased but just because you find a study that shows that psychosis hasn't increased in that area means nothing. It just means people haven't been professionally diagnosed, stemming back to marijuana use, literally walking in to the office saying "I THINK I'M SUFFERING PSYCHOSIS, DIAGNOSE ME!" in order to +1 to the statistic. It doesn't take in to account: 1. homeless people who more often than not use either drugs or are suffering from some sort of psychosis (minus family situations and some special circumstances) who choose to do nothing about it. 2. The amount of users who won't admit to smoking pot, as they don't see it as a problem and even use it to self medicate. There are a lot of people who use marijuana to self medicate so why the hell would they ask for help if they already think something is fixing their problem? lol 3. Once again stemming back to the fact that you have to actually admit that you have a problem before you seek help. 4. People walk around every, single, day not knowing that they have a problem. Or they generally have some idea but don't choose to seek help. 5. If you legalized it, common sense says it is available to all community members, therefore exposing a larger amount of population that has psychosis running in their genetics. It's only logical to assume numbers will rise. It is an assumption but an extremely logical one. 6. Take in to account some regular pot smokers (eg... daily) are then daily experiencing a mind alteration in which their perception changes. 7. Many Schizophrenics won't turn up for treatment because they assume pot smoking fixes it. Some aren't well enough to even trust their perception in between psychotic episodes. Many have horrible paranoia and do not trust professional help and think people are out to get them. All you have to do is volunteer to work for a substance abuse support group and work with a small group of youths to understand just how much it can screw with your mind. Almost none of them wanted professional treatment, they just wanted to be a part of a support group and go it alone. They truly believed that continuing to smoke pot would fix their problems. Those who did seek professional help usually ceased visits after the very first visit. So seeing that first hand is laughable when studies haven't found any increases. That is because nobody wants to be labeled, nobody likes to be told something is wrong with them, and not many people like to admit that something is a problem, they're too proud and usually resort to self medicating and going it alone. I know at least 5 or 6 pot smokers from when I was younger who are now using it almost every day. When I first met them they seemed pretty normal but after the last 6/7 years their behaviour is NOT normal. Yet they won't seek help because they don't notice any difference. I personally know someone who is an emotional wreck with extreme paranoia, who goes preaching bible verses and how everything we do and see is an illusion so it's stupid to get a job or even shower and look after their personal hygiene. And yet he thinks nothing has changed about him. And I do know someone with Schizophrenia after a bad pot smoking session. He's now medicated up to his eyeballs unable to do anything for himself. I also know someone who was diagnosed with bipolar disorder who self medicated themselves with marijuana and it later triggered off a terrible psychosis, made him borderline schizophrenic and he stabbed someone to death. I'm not making these up by the way. I'm actually leaving to Adelaide so most probably won't be able to check any replies so sorry about that. Point still stands that regardless of personal justification, marijuana exacerbates psychosis that may not have ever of surfaced in that person's life. And many people aren't educated of it either and some would have preferred not to take the risk if they knew about it. Especially those who now can't live normal lives and it now affects their family too.

If you only know 27 people, I highly doubt you know whether it has affected other class mates in some shape or form. Quite often people walk around with psychosis/disorders and the general public is unaware. I also doubt you know every, single one of your friend's experience with it, only the one's they decide to tell you and even if there was something wrong, they're not a professional, they would probably walk around thinking that nothing is wrong. That's why we have psychiatrists, because the general public can't go around diagnosing themselves ;)

I just said that Marijuana increases the chances of getting Schizophrenia. All you've done is added further research to my point. You don't need to provide me with a source but thank you. I've already read about it in about one of 50 substance abuse text books I have laying around the house from when I was at university. I didn't say that Marijuana is linked to either dementia or anxiety disorders. In fact many who have generalized anxiety disorders would argue that it helps reduce their anxiety. Although there are several psychiatrists that I know (some of the best in QLD) 40+ years experience who would love to argue that Marijuana is linked to anxiety disorders. I said that Marijuana can exacerbate pre existing psychosis, anxiety and paranoia. It doesn't take a source to prove that paranoia and anxiety are often symptoms from smoking the old green leaf, it's a largely known fact. But here's one anyway! http://www.adavic.org/education/articles/marijuana.htm While it's great to have someone else on the boards in the psychology field, I really wish you would stop adding words that aren't there. You've done that the last two times we've had the pleasure of running in to each other on the forums.

Intelligence firstly, good debater secondly for mental stimulation, need those especially for the older years, someone who can teach me something new or excels in something that I don't, someone who can talk under water because I'm quiet and prefer to listen to other people's stories, humor, I once heard if you can make a woman laugh, you can make her do anything.
-
What's your point? It's a still a fact and happens a lot, especially when it runs in genetics. Exaggeration doesn't make you sound credible either.
-
Despite my area of study, sure do. I don't care what research points to, I've seen too much for it to be a coincidence. And I'm completely sane ;) My nanna recently died so let's count the coincidences: I took my photos of my nanna out, laid them on the bed, went to the toilet and while I was on the toilet (scrubs moment) I was thinking of how great it would have been if my nanna could have met my son before she passed on. I came out of the bathroom, my son cried so I went to pick him up and my photos where in his crib. My mum picked a photo to be burnt with my nanna's ashes and placed it in her drawer. She woke up in the morning, went for a shower and the drawer was open and the photo had been placed on the inside of the photo album and a different photo placed on top of the album. I then came over and she showed me the photo and I'm like "that's the photo nanna liked best of you, don't you remember her telling you when she came to visit in Darwin?" The night before my nanna died I dreamed of her face, then woke up with her face being the last thing I saw. I haven't seen my nanna in 6 years and have never dreampt of her before that moment. My mother also dreampt of her the very same night. She walked over to my mum, held her hand and said "please come to visit me" And every single, female on my mum's side of the family also had similar dreams! And others, I'm running short of time because I'm going out but yeah, in my lifetime I have seen WAY too much.

Omg completely agree with you! They're so catty and [bleep]y that it's entertaining enough for me to watch. Not all super models are like that though, my friend Stacey is the nicest girl ever and poses for Ralph magazine/represents the Sunshine coast/Brisbane. I'm playing a few games of rock band (since I don't have my real drum kit anymore ) I just want to play the drums and listen to a bit of music. I find music and playing instruments so calming and euphoric. And then... I'm going for a shower and going out to the sports club. I heard they have a tribute on tonight. I was going to go to Stacey's modeling competition over in the Gold Coast tonight but then pictured myself (a mum) in amongst a bunch of super models backstage and figured it wouldn't do much for my self esteem

Please give your opinion, if it's an opinion and you're not forcing it upon anyone I don't see how anyone would get in your face about it. They may challenge your opinion though, if you're up for that.

But which part of *taking the drug* is imposing? All that is involved in the action of taking a drug is a drug and a person who governs himself. Their future actions are irrelevant. If someone owns their own body they have the right to do whatever they want to it. If they go on to kill someone, that is a different issue. There is no drug that has a guarantee that someone who takes it will impose on the freedoms of others. Okay, say I agree with you on that matter but the fact that it still happens has got to mean something surely. If there was hypothetically a drug on the market that turned you in to a serial killer would you still legalize it because taking the drug is not imposing?
-
But applying your theory, someone high as a kite who becomes mentally unstable is capable of taking away the freedom of others.
-
and contrary to some personal beliefs, the opposite direction of the brain :P

That's what I was just thinking. Was it just an exaggeration to get your point across or is it a common thing where you are?
