Well at least the government now knows they can't keep palming off money, free education and cars. That's not how to make a group equal. I lived in the Northern Territory for 6 years and this is all the government did, palmed away money to make up for discrimination. Majority spent it all on alcohol, cigarettes, drugs, metho and even tore up their floor boards in their free accommodation to create camp fires in the living room. I kid you not. I used to have to step over them sleeping in the car park, hung over before I went to work in the morning. Both government and the aboriginals of Australia have come a long way since then. And I'm so glad the government decided to stop throwing money around to fix a problem.

Wtf guys seriously talking about which family member you would save in a thread about nicest thing you've done for someone. Sacrificing either of your family members isn't the nicest thing you've done for someone surely lol The other one would be DEAD!

If my daughter couldn't come and speak with me then there are more problems than the eye can see anyway. And they would start with me and why I'm so unapproachable to begin with. I wouldn't force my daughter to do anything either, as psychologically speaking she would rebel against me and we would have more problems than just teenage pregnancy. If you want to know about it, be approachable and have a good relationship with your kids. The blame wouldn't begin with the government, that's just passing blame away. They would begin with you and some incredible soul searching. Well actually, cognitively speaking a 32 week old baby in the womb is identical to a new born baby.

What are you trying to convince yourself of that isn't unlucky? Is it an object? a superstition? what is it? -
I can do face plants :-# lol when I was younger, I used to put the broom (bottom bit) under and behind the front wheels of the skateboard, tell my brother to hop on and run around the house with him on the skateboard (laying on his stomach). Fun times :D

Common grounds and why she remembers you. "Hey..... how's it going? It's.... from facebook. How's the dancing going?" and go from there. When I speak to people and they ask how I'm doing I usually reply with "Fantastic! And getting better, and you?" People always remember me as the person who is "fantastic and getting better" because it's positive, and they want to know more about me and why I'm feeling so fantastic. How many people do you know who say that? Oh and smile when you talk to people or they'll think you're interrogating them. You could also slip in a compliment "Oh you're looking lovely today" etc, people respond positively and are more inclined to answer your questions. But don't be fake, mean it.

That sounds like a good thing though. Yeah he's sad, he's lurking a little but it isn't really problematic unless he is constantly talking about her, begging her back, making himself look like a tool, declaring his love for her, trying to contact this guy in Canada etc It could be so much worse. If he's been with her for a year and this is all he's doing then I think he is doing really well, minus the alcohol theory. The fact that he still has feelings but won't try to talk to her, says to me that he is trying to accept it and move on. But it's just difficult at the moment. Overall I think he is doing okay. However, he is your mate and you know him better than I do, I can only comment on the information you've provided me with. I have no idea what kind of help you're asking for. YOU NEED TO TALK TO HER! It's like you expect someone to have some kind of magical solution to implant the idea in her head that she needs to be alone and brew up a confidence potion. The only way you're going to get her to speak to you and build your confidence is by taking risks in life.

I was searching random images on google and came along this... I didn't know whether I wanted to punch the guy out or laugh hysterically.

Is he really grieving or is he just checking up on her? I check up on my ex's some I'm still friends with, others I just like to check up on for an instant smile. None of them have accomplished nearly as much as I have since we saw each other last. And that's a satisfying feeling knowing they're still the scum of the Earth :P He'll forget about it. But if you nag him about it then you're just making him think about her even more. Take him out to meet girls. And the guy is an idiot if he thinks alcohol will make everything better. Like you say, it acts as a depressant. The more he drinks, the more he'll dwell. It's a short term fix not a long term fix.

Piaget's development theory revolves around the different stages of cognitive development in children aged 0 to 11+ years. He did this through observing, talking and listening to them and analyzing children's capacity to understand the world around them and also engaging in psychological tasks. Basically, theorizing that structures evolve in an organized and predictable pattern from the interaction between organism and environment. If you apply this theory to fetal development it's quite possible to argue that cognitive structures in a newborn had origins before birth. Cognitive structures and other facts before 12 weeks. Brain function, as measured on the Electroencephalogram, "appears to be reliably present in the fetus at about eight weeks gestation," or six weeks after conception. J. Goldenring, "Development of the Fetal Brain," New England Jour. of Med., Aug. 26, 1982, p. 564 The eye, ear and respiratory systems begin to form four weeks after fertilization. K. Moore, Before We Were Born, 3rd ed., 1989, p. 278 Thumb sucking has been photographed at 7 weeks after fertilization. W. Liley, The Fetus As Personality, Fetal Therapy, 1986, p. 8-17 A woman cannot feel the fetus moving until 20/24 weeks because the inside of the uterus has no feeling. The fetus usually has to be at least a pound before the mother can feel the force on the outside wall of the uterus. By the 11th week a fetus can "breathe" in amniotic fluid, however, irregularly. "Breathing" has been recorded as early as 10 weeks gestational age. Conners et al., "Control of Fetal Breathing in the Human Fetus," Am J. OB-GYN, April 1989, p. 932 A fetus can swallow at 11 weeks. Valman & Pearson, British Med. Jour., "What the Fetus Feels," 26 Jan. 1980, p. 233 "At eight weeks of life a tapping stimulus on the amniotic sac results in arm movements . . . the primitive brain receives the stimulus, selects a response and transmits the response as a signal to the arm." M. Rosen, "Learning Before Birth," Harpers Magazine, April 1978 "We know already that even embryonic nervous tissue is open to maternal communication via brain chemicals called neurotransmitters." Thus the mother's emotional state can affect the fetus from conception onwards. Shettles & Varick, Rites of Life, Grand Rapids: Zondervan, 1983, pp. 87-89 Involuntary reflexes No one yet has proven that it knows that it exists. The cognitive development in the fetus has so far been proven to be involuntary. Btw my spell check isn't Australian so some z's and s's will be in the wrong places.

Yes children go through their first stage of cognitive development in the first two years of life. However, fetus's cognitive development starts as early as 3 weeks after conception. Usually abortions are performed by 12 weeks but fetus's have already developed the ability to react to sounds and even hiccup at just 9 weeks.
-
babies develop their senses over the course of nine months, not instantly when they are born. Babies kick before they are born, so your argument only holds as a reason to allow early abortions(which I agree should be legal). I said I wouldn't come back but I lied. If you want to get technical fetal brain development starts at 3 weeks after conception. By 5 weeks, the cerebral cortex has convoluted. At just 9 weeks old the fetus can hiccup and react to loud sounds. And by 32 weeks the fetus behaves almost exactly the same way as a new born.

It's not really a game you just need to count to 3 and by the time you get to 3 you need to already be talking to her, whether her friends are there or not. Or you will never get to know her.

Who cares if it's true. If it happened get him fired for discrimination in the class room. Doubt we'll see you after this anyway, troll.
-
When she's on facebook next use the messaging system to chat with her and just talk about whatever. You'll probably feel more comfortable approaching her at school after you know a bit more about her/have more contact with her. If you want to be extra sneaky you could always send her applications to get to know her better and also harmless ways to flirt with her on her page.

There is already an existing homosexuality thread. It would be better if you post your situation there. We'll soon see if it was worth going through the lengthy time signing up in the probable attempt at being a troll. I give it a few minutes before this is locked. Get a hobby.

Negotiate with your teacher to play after class. Some students managed to negotiate this with our old music teacher, however they did need to sacrifice a few points to encourage them to try and get over the nerves. I almost failed music because I can't read music. Every exam I had where I had to call out the notes etc, failed hardcore. When it came to playing musical pieces, I had it down packed in one lesson and learning advanced songs through-out the rest of the week. Including Mozart. People learn different ways so if a teacher expects all their students to be able to learn by the same method, it's very limiting in the least. I could only play music by hearing so thankfully my teacher played it for me to copy her.

I used to be addicted to Red Bull. Now my poison is Coke Zero and Pepsi Max. Favourite alcoholic beverage is Jim Beam & Cola, white label although I'm not much of a drinker these days. Only ever 1-3 once or twice a month. Healthiest beverage at the moment is tea. Normally I would say water but at the moment it tastes absolutely disgusting. Whoever put that extra crap in the water should go drown in it.

Well why don't you? I have a friend who has done that for the last 10 years and teaches English in developing countries. Your dream is pretty much what one of my tattoos represent. "Man is born free, but everywhere he is in chains" - Jean-Jacques Rousseau

What's your point? It works both ways left or right winged. So the rest of their patients (who aren't there for abortion) have to find other hospitals (and may not even get in because of limitations to hospital beds etc) and that's peaceful? You really do have an odd definition of peace. Someone might die or suffer a lot because of that decision. Not to mention the extra anguish people experience and then direct towards them in the process. There are more intelligent ways to handle it, but whatever. We have different opinions of the word "peaceful" so I'm not going to try and influence you, as I'm sure you're already aware you're not influencing me, either. mmmcannibalism - You either really are an idiot or just really slow today. Everyone else seems to understand the concept but you don't, so we'll leave it there. Oh and I don't make up definitions. I really think you should go look at a few more sources and the history. But chances are you're still not going to grasp it anyway. Oh well you look bad for not understanding the obvious, not me. I'm done with this thread - have better things to do.
