Why won't he accept it? What does he say? Have you checked your quest status by clicking the yellow title ingame? What does that say?
  2. Eek. How could I have forgotten 1984?
  3. Buy a blank deck. They're cheaper but good to learn with. As for an ollie - if you want one tip to keep your mind on - make absolute sure that the tail of your board "smacks" the ground. If this doesn't happen, you'll never leave the ground.
  4. Why not just approach a laptop company and offer them $40 000 to make you a personalized super-awesome laptop? :P
  5. Nah, this one's better. Or this one
  6. Just a side note - kg to lbs is kg * 2.2, not 2.
  7. Actually, I change my answer. "Versus" is the worst/most pointless movie I've ever seen. Life Aquatic is a close second. @How2pk - I just don't share that sense of humour :P
  8. Thanks for the link indy. Guy Gavriel Kay. I would have to agree with one of the commenters - that he is criminally under-read.
  9. I walked out of the theatre during Life Aquatic.
  10. The Last Light of the Sun by Guy Gavriel Kay. Or, if you're looking for something a little larger, he wrote a trilogy, called 'The Fionavar Tapestry'. The tapestry draws alot on real world mythology and combines it with his own. It's a weird twist, but I enjoyed it once I got over the initial shock. I would've linked you to the wikipedia article on the Tapestry, but it contains spoilers. Basically anything by Kay gets a thumbs up from me. He was the co-editor of the Silmarillion after all :P

I find that caucasians can tell other caucasians age better, as well as a general location, but are terrible with that information and asians. As well as the inverse. At school a couple years back we had a student from South Korea - she could guess exactly the age of every other asian student at the school (there were diverse ages, fwiw), but she couldn't guess the age of any caucasian.
  12. Most classrooms will have AC plugs. Just sit close to a wall. However, if they don't, and battery life is the biggest issue, then get a Mac :P they've got great battery life. You can get windows for Mac now.
  13. 2 seconds from every person that reads your posts adds up. What we're asking is for you to take two seconds to proofread your post. Is that too hard?

    Only $250? That's pretty awesome.
  15. Gretsch guitars. Too bad I won't be affording one for an extremely long time :P
  16. Girls don't ask me out... but they do alot of weird things like drop email addresses on my lap and run away... or stalk me. Any ideas of how to get rid of stalkers are welcome. Btw, when I say stalker - I mean someone that like follows me around campus after my classes until we part ways, and constantly tries to make eye contact with me but never actually says anything. Basically they're too intimidated by my incredibly awesome looks (:P) to talk so they just make things akward :| And that's where I'm at. If I knew things would be cool after there'd be no hesitation here. As for my last relationship - I went to British Columbia for school (I'm from Ontario) for 3 months. Basically, as soon as I got there, I forgot about my girlfriend (had been dating for about 3 months prior). It was weird though - whenever I'd call her, basically her emotions would get transferred onto me. For example, if I was having an amazing day, and she was pissed off/sad, then I would become pissed off/sad and my day would suck from then on in. I don't know how/why it happened, but I ended it because of this. (fireworks ending :P)
  17. I've taken one pencil and paper test and got 141. I also took a test such as the poster (to get into an advance placement) and was in the top fifth percentile of all of those tested (teachers referred the smartest students to take the test). They didn't give us our IQ though. And yea, IQ doesn't measure intelligence, it just measures logical skills. (which are useful)
  18. I bought a $900 dell laptop 2 years ago, and I'm pretty sure that in 3 years it will still run "your average program", and it's definitely going to get me my 4-year comp sci degree (2nd year atm). Programming language compilers/editors are pretty much just text-editors. Though as far as gaming is concerned, it's garbage :P
  19. Lionheart, when you see this, I'd like to know what you think of what Astra said.
  20. While I do disagree, and believe that it is, in fact, a virtual English class, I'll assume your view for the sake of this post. Who cares if it's not? That's no excuse not to use grammar. The purpose of English class is to teach you how to use language properly; those lessons should extend to every time you use language. Math teachers don't teach you arithmetic only for you to forget how to count money when you're buying something. In the same way, English teachers don't teach you grammar only for you to neglect it when you leave the classroom. On top of that, language is one of humanity's most precious possessions. It's a powerful form of communication and a beautiful art form. As such, it ought to be treated with respect. When you use bad grammar and spelling, you drain the language of its clarity, communicative power, and beauty. That said, it annoys me when people purposely neglect grammar in writing, and it does lower my opinion of their intelligence. However, I still read their posts and judge their ideas on their own merit. Small mistakes are fine, and not all writing has to be brilliant. No one is expected to be perfect, and not everyone is expected to craft their words. However, those who strive for correctness and excellence in writing will generally be better respected in a text-based community like a forum. [/thread] :P
  21. We already have an NFL thread.
  22. It's just a matter of opinion, Lionheart. You say we should take the extra time to figure out what you're saying, and we say you should take the extra time to make your post grammatically correct.
  23. If you don't care then why are you getting worked up about it? I think what he was saying is that if you practice bad spelling/grammar online, eventually it's going to be transferred into your schoolwork. The better your grammar is online, the quicker it will come to you when it really matters.
  24. I've got to say, if I see garbage grammar - I skip the post.
  25. Mad, owning a bookstore would be totally awesome :D My future ambitions? Get married and move to Vancouver Island. Everything else is optional. Well Vancouver Island is optional too :P but not so much.
