TIOBE - The Coding Standards Company
Thus, (Visual)Basic includes all of the following; So it's standard BASIC, VB, and .NET. Plus I've got a bunch of friends that are like... obsessed with programming and the like. They say VB is really useful for really short algorithms when they want an easy GUI for it as well. It's sort of a convenience thing - not anything they'd use for a project or whatnot, but for personal use/convenence. Although Java is much much slower than C, it's a much better language to learn how to program on, since type-checking is done at compile time, you can fix your errors before your program begins to run. Since C is loosely typed, you could spend hours trying to figure out what your program is because C lets you do crazy stuff like assign integers to booleans. Plus they're using alot of internet stuff to grade their results - and Java is a more popular internet language because of it's OS independence.

...except that James Blunt writes the most annoying songs ever. :P

TIOBE - The Coding Standards Company
http://www.tiobe.com/index.htm?tiobe_index This is an interesting site. It lists the "popularity" of programming languages and organizes it into the top25. It has alot of historical data as well. I dunno, I don't have much to say, I just found it interesting and was wondering what your opinions are :)

One word to sum my life: Indecision
I'm only a freshman and I already think about that. It's kind of depressing when I think about how 90%, if not more, of the friends I know now will dissappear once we all go to college. Oh my friends haven't disappeared :) we unite every summer! (or have, for the past two/three summers after I've been out).

Playing Guitar For The Ladies
Depending on how old you are; high school girls (juniors and below) might appreciate Dashboard's acoustic stuff. If you're in your senior year or above, I'd stay away from it though. City and Colour is good too. A tad more advanced, so if you're super new at guitar I wouldn't suggest trying it just yet.

What Do You Do When Life Gets Tough..?
I'll either play something ambient on my keyboard or watch sitcoms.

Chicken or Beef?
This is one question I have never been able to answer. Depends on my mood, really. Right now I'm feeling the chicken. Swiss Chalet ftw!

One word to sum my life: Indecision
I think everybody goes through this around your senior year. For me it happened a few months afterwards. I was just driving home from a friend's house, and then it hit me. "We're all growing up, and there's nothing we can do to stop it." And to be honest, I didn't like it. It's hard to describe... I just felt like everything was slipping away. As for your routine - once you exit high school, life's going to change. So look forward to, or prepare yourself for it.

How was school?
I had an excruciatingly boring linear algebra class. I'm in second year, but I need to take this first year course so it's alot of stuff I don't need to be there for, with the odd thing slipped in so I can't just skip :(

Warm pop or cold pop? (/soda/sodapop/caffeine love)
How does adding energy cool your soda down? Shhh. I suck....

Warm pop or cold pop? (/soda/sodapop/caffeine love)
Nasty. And now you know what I like =) Broiling hot soda? If by boiling hot, you mean so cold that if you removed one joule of energy the entire drink would freeze over, then yes :)

How Much Time Do You Put Into Practice? (guitar)
That's how I did for the first four years. Now I just improvise blues licks - it's something I can do for five minutes, for over an hour at a time. I wouldn't exactly call it practising, but I am definitely seeing (positive) results from all the playing. I generally play around half an hour a day only. But that's every day (almost without fail), for the last five years. My longest dry spell couldn't be longer than a week.

Getting Nervous..
Bear in mind - the second before you approach her, you're going to be 1000 times more nervous than you are right now :P but once you start talking to her, it should all go away :)

The Official Hockey Thread
Umm, what? That would be Ovechkin from the Washington Caps. :P Oh, I meant that as a separate thought. I'll edit it. Don't worry, I'm not stupid. The part after the "GO OILERS" was directed at the original goal (or attempt). Shremp is on the Oilers, right? I knew you meant :P I just figured since the Whalers fan did the same thing you'd have gotten it :P

The Official Hockey Thread
Yea Thaulsis, I think Malik's goal is the linked (and censored :P) one in my post. It's also incredible. I'd actually consider it better than Ovechkin's except for the fact that it wasn't in real-time gameplay. Umm, what? That would be Ovechkin from the Washington Caps (I'm like 100% sure). I believe the Hartford Whalers became the Carolina Hurricanes. Umm, what? That would be Ovechkin from the Washington Caps. :P

What game this is?
Definitely bomberman or a ripoff version. Do you have reason to trust the person who told you they were unrelated?

Tip.It Times Presents: Welcoming Home the Prodigal Children
I think we'd have to look at the number of bans vs. successful ban appeals first. Point is, you actully don't know if they ban for petty offenses or not. On one hand, we have the "bannees", who say it was a petty offense. On the other hand, we have the "banners", who say they don't ban for petty offenses. It's one person's word vs. another, and it's just a matter of choosing sides. I wouldn't mind knowing myself :P
