  1. depends, sometimes there are like 3-4 pll overthere... I seem to get lucky, then. Or maybe it's just cause I play when the worlds are mostly empty. 8-)
  2. Nah, best spot for mossies is northwest of Ardougne, 1-2 clicks west of the fishing guild. 5 or so mossies here, so you could share with 1 other person.
  3. Maybe you could get an obby cape as well. It might nearly break your budget, though. Your armor's just about the best you can get for your level. Good job, you've done your research. Dragon gauntlets at FoG are a possibility. They don't wear out unless you die, and it's got some really good defense stats. This might not be helpful, but think about getting void melee. Its defense is about the same as red dhide (crap) but the offense bonuses are pretty darn nice. It's only good if you don't need the defense, like if you're expecting to spec someone out in 5 seconds or if you're training on PC or some really weak monster. Now for some absolutely useless advice: Get d claws, d platebody, d full helm, d square, fury, and fire cape/trimmed skill cape.
  4. Bring alch runes on your next monster hunting trip. Alch drops that are mith and higher, or steel platelegs, 2h, and platebodies. :P Do the lumbridge diary until you get the ring that gives a few low alches. Then pick random stuff off the ground and cast alches on the random stuff. At worst, you'll break even. You might even get 1-2gp per item! Seriously, though, it's hard to find stuff to hi-alch for even a small loss.
  5. There's always the giant red spiders in SoS. They don't drop anything, but they don't hit too hard. The great thing is that they're auto aggressive. I'm more than twice their lvl, and they still auto-attack me. (at least I think so. It's been a while). They're afkable with okayish exp, so go there if you really don't want to think. For relative "fun and excitement" go kill green drags in the wildy. The threat of revs in lvl 20 wildy will keep you on your toes, and the loot is actually pretty good. Just don't go there during the peak hours, it gets crowded. Banshees, chaos druids, and even men are still decent options if you want herbs. Pest control is always fun, with decent exp. Tell us what you want, give us specifics. Then our help will be more specific ;)
  6. My general rule is this: if you hit 0's more than 50% of the time with void range, definitely switch to black dhide. If you hit 0's less than 20% of the time with void range, stick with void range. If you hit 0's between 20% and 50% of the time... well, that's when you use your powers of thinking. Void is good for power. Black dhide is better for accuracy. Switch to void when you don't need the accuracy that black dhide offers. Use void on monsters with low def, and black dhide on monsters with high def. I've heard players suggest lvl 80 for void, but it's still highly situational. Generally, the better your range lvl, the more you use void range. I personally use black dhide at brutal green drags, while using void range at most giants.
  7. For cash, I'd agree with homowz and say pure ess. Just remember to plant ranarrs along the way. for the post that's two posts above, what do you mean by "best"? For best afk, heal the elemental wizards south of falador using elemental attack spells. For best speed, you may as well alch. For best cost, melee pest control and spend the points on mage exp. You may as well do a bit of the Mage Training Arena if you ever want bones to peaches.
  8. The void knight's female  Hide tabs would be nice, it'll make browsing through the guide much easier. I nitpick because I care, this is one of the best guides I've seen on these forums. :
  9. If you ever get really desperate, mine pure ess. 150k an hour, and even an idiotic bot could do it.
  10. If you can't find it on tip.it, try Google. I Googled the terms green dragon hunting runescape for you. Here's a guide from runehq Here's a guide from salmoneus Yeah, so I linked to a rival fansite :? Well, links to those competent guides are the best help I can give :P
  11. It's a tough call. If you're tanking in the center, your defense is gonna pretty heavily nerfed anyway. Prayer is a necessity, but you're still gonna take heavy hits even with prayer on. I'd suggest green dhide, though. An entire game with extra mage def > 1 minute of protection prayer. P.S. Sorry for the thread hijack, but does prayer flashing work in PvP combat? If so (and you're up against predictable opponents who just come for mage xp) then try conserving prayer that way.
  12. [hide=] I'd suggest switching priorities 2 and 3. By drawing the attacks of those ranged pests before they attack the knight, you're becoming a meatshield for the knight. Which is a good thing, because you can afford to die but you can't afford to let the knight fall. This is an amazing guide! 10/10! P.S. You can always bring something to alch if you get stuck in the lander for a few minutes... And there is no animation for fletching bolts ;) Do you know the name of any good pc clans that don't require much commitment? Thanks for all the tips! I shall be adding those shortly and I think I was going to switch 2 and 3 from my old guide but I guess i never got to it. The reason I don't suggest luring a brawler is because there are way to many idiots out in the world, maybe I could wright an extra area for clan playing :D Also if you are waiting in the lander for more than a minute to a minute 30 then you should go to a different world or train somewhere else (I should be making a guide to a new area I found the be nearly as good as PC) so then you would have no need to alch or fletch bolts. The reason I don't suggest any clans is because they all require commitment, again maybe ill add a whole new section for clan play that would only give instructions needed for an elite player. For the west and east gates its easier to let the people near the portals take care of that or the people defending the void knight do that. And thank you so much for all the suggestions!! [/hide] You're welcome. Sorry for this really late post, I took a break from PC to catch up on slayer. You can fletch bolts while inside a pest control game. At least, you could the last time I checked. There's no animation for it, and it's very easy to fletch a few bolts when you've got a spare second. The best/worst part is that no one else would know you're fletching bolts. :? I got a bit obsessed for a short while with bank organization. I wanted to have placeholders. Lo and behold, you can have multiple amounts of void armor. I've got two gloves, bodies, legs, and melee helms. I might go for the placeholders for range and mage helms and mace in a few months. I also want to know, is the seal worth getting, for clans and individuals? I've figured out that it's worth using one charge of the seal to save a beginner game. It's worth using two charges to save an intermediate game, and it's worth using three charges to save an veteran game. (each charge costs 10/8 points, or 1.25 points). I already have and sparingly use the seal, but I'd like to know if clans use it. I haven't done extensive testing but your figures on seal damage is about right. I don't get zeal for seal damage. Use the seal when the void knight is getting crowded by shifters beyond control, or when the portal is crowded beyond control. It's interesting to lure splatters to the portal, then use seal and retribution prayer to cause mass carnage. Too bad I die, so I can't see the damage. Splatter bombing when near the void knight is a tactic if the splatter just wanders in there. If you're wasting time luring the splatter to the void knight, you're just having fun. Barrelchest anchor is strong, but slow. Really, it's not fast enough. You want a decently fast weapon, probably longsword or faster. Stick with the best scimmy (dds for specs) you can wield until the whip.
  13. Do you plan to pk in f2p? I say killing men in p2p is a great moneymaker for pures. You get some combat exp, but the great part is the number of herbs that men drop. I'm sure you can get at least 60k gp an hour killing men, assuming you bank bones. Then there's the good old pest control. It's amazing for training hp, which you'll want as a pure. No need to worry about food (if you die, you respawn instantly with all your gear) and you get money for playing. If you want plenty of really easy money... I'd suggest mining pure essence. It'll get you 80k gp an hour with an addy pick. 150k gp an hour with a rune pick. Much better cash than fishing. P.S. Train agility. The benefits of agility carry over to f2p. You'll be able to recover run energy faster compared to normal f2p players. P.P.S. Don't train cooking. It's a money-losing skill. Sell your raw fish and buy cooked fish.
  14. Are you p2p or f2p? The exp you get from playing the game is tiny - maybe 1k or 2k exp an hour. If you play the game and buy teleport tokens to runecrafting altars with reward tokens - well, I don't know how much exp it is, but I know nat crafting through abyss is faster. Only play this game for fun or teleport tablets, not for xp. This is not a long-term viable training option, but it's a nice place to take a break. I hear astral teleport is good, and I like using nat teleport to go to harpy bug swarms. Don't buy ess with your guild tokens, buy telly tablets. Telly tablets allow you to get a lot of runecrafting done in a small amount of time. 50/50 gets you the same number of points (in theory) as if you don't do 50/50. The only difference is that you get less ess doing 50/50. So, in the long run, it's better not to go 50/50. But in the short run, I like to have certainty in how many points I get, so do 50/50 if you're aiming for a steady gain of points.
  15. Physics 8-) This is the science that has the least amount of memorization involved. That's enough for me.
  16. The search button is your friend. Here's a particularly good summoning guide: http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?f=103&t=744156&hilit=summoning+guide
  17. The ancient caverns are also random-free (I'm pretty sure). Use the safespot on the northeast mithril dragon. Put on some decent armor (especially anti-fire shield), get food, and pray magic. Then go to the level on which there are mithril dragons. There's a safespot for the northeast mithril dragon, right in the middle of the room. It'll circle round and round trying to attack you, but it won't be able to touch you. There you can alch in peace. This was written tongue-in-cheek, but I'm not joking. This is perfectly feasible, if a little risky. Be careful out there
  18. There's always pest control \ Out of curiosity, I did your research for you. If you win 15 games an hour on the expert boat, you'll get 60 points an hour and 26k mage exp per hour from points alone. You can fight pests with melee and still get mage exp. PC calculator: http://www.tip.it/runescape/index.php?page=pest_control_planner.htm Pest control: 26k mage exp an hour 15k or so melee exp an hour (if you fight with melee) 15k or so gp an hour. If you can stand pest control, give this a try! : Slow, free exp ftw! P.S. PC is unbalanced because you can get "free" mage and prayer exp.
  19. Guthans works on any monster that doesn't need special equipment for the head, body, legs, weapons, or shields spot. B2P works on any monster that drops normal bones. For example, guthans works on jellies but not on basilisks. B2P works on basilisks but not jellies. So, get both. Food also works, too. Prayer works, but gets too expensive. Black mask is almost a necessity when training slayer with melee. Smoking Kills quest is pretty much another necessity. Get the slayer mask. It'll let you have the attack bonuses while giving you protection from some special slayer monsters. Ability to make rings of slaying is also pretty much a necessity for fast slayer travel.
  20. Attack and Fletching. Because they're the ones that are closest to 99. Attack because accuracy is so important for fast combat training. Fletching should earn a tiny profit, maybe 1M, with stringing bows. If you're just fletching logs, expect a loss of 2-3M or so. This skill doesn't take too long to train, maybe a few weeks of no-lifing. Train attack with slayer. I don't know the exp rates, but you don't wanna miss out on slayer exp. Getting 99 attack should take less than 300 hours if you're reasonably efficient (30k exp an hour)
  21. Gotta agree with all the above. Just some additions: firemaking: do maple logs. runecrafting: craft airs from 1-99. cooking: Lobbies until 84-86, then swordies. (you stop burning swordies at 86) prayer: Bury big bones.
  22. Thanks for the answers! I'm using this setup for the graveyard part of Mage Training Arena for B2P spell. Whatever I wear, I'll take damage, so may as well focus on regenaration :
  23. If so, does it heal 3 hp per minute or 4 hp per minute?
  24. Plant all the highest tree seeds (fruit and normal), the highest herbs, and watermelons. And play vinesweeper. I got to my farming lvl mostly with herbs, though, so my advice is just pointing out the obvious.
  25. To put it simply, just grind out any moneymaking skill. You've got high mining and fletching levels. Just mine rune or string yew longs for money. There are too many ways to make money to count: mining pure ess, mining addy or rune, killing various monsters (especially banshees/ cave crawlers), smelting bars, smelting cannonballs, picking flax, turning flax into bowstrings... You just need to a way that works for you. Oh, and don't spend money on skills. The only exceptions might be powerleveling to 44 rc or the farming lvl for ranarr, but that's about it.
