  1. Short answer: tentative no I'll just throw in my thoughts really quickly. This is a badly worded question with the "possible answers" creating a false dichotomy. Setting up the question the way the OP did sets you up in one of two different camps, with flamethrowers at the ready  My answer is that I don't know. I don't really care either way. I'm agnostic. I have a weak belief that God is not real. If anyone can prove that God is real, I'll accept it. If anyone can prove God isn't real, I'll accept it. And please, don't try to convince me either way. Text and pictures won't convince me. A chorus of angels bursting into existence would probably be enough to convince me. Probably. I've taken one year of a philosophy class (Theory of Knowledge - It's a required course for my IB Diploma, don't laugh). As a rational person, I hold the belief that science is the way to go. But science only explains the natural world (the world we can see and measure). God is not a part of the natural world. God is something that's beyond the physical. God, by his own nature, can't be measured using our technology. So, for me, God doesn't make a difference in my life. I won't care whether he's real or not until something drastic happens to me. However, I find it very easy to believe in the possibility that there are aliens such as Q (for all you Trekkies out there). Omnipotent aliens with powers beyond our imagination? That's believable. Omnipotent aliens pretending to be God? That's more believable than the concept of God.
  2. I can verify that. Just go to an empty world, hop in a boat, and start alching. And you can't alch in the middle of a PC game. You can still fletch bolts during a PC game :-# And if you're lucky enough to get the freaky forester event - well, that's a random-free area ;)
  3. The first thing I'd teach my child(ren) would be to THINK. Creatively. Differently. Quickly. Passionately, if that works. I hope the day never comes that one of my kids would not care about learning. Even if it's learning ancient history... or gaming. Then I'd use logical consequences (not punishments. Especially not corporal punishment) to let them learn. So you're gonna throw a tantrum in public? That's futile, but OK, I have plenty of time. Don't do your homework? Fine. Get bad grades because of that? I'm disappointed, but fine. Have to stay behind a grade? Okay. Hope you've learned something from this. I know this would seem to be too much hands-off parenting. I'd be like a big brother, while my wife would probably do most of the "real" parenting. My only worry is that I'd be so relaxed about discipline that I wouldn't bail my kids out of a problem before it becomes a full-blown crisis. But life's a learning experience. Live and learn. Yeah, I'd be the parent to just let his kids run loose. And my wife would be the relatively strict one to compensate. Although I haven't thought too much about being a parent. All my schoolwork and college applications and gaming keep me grounded in the present.
  4. Do something about the inflation of str bonus versus hp lvl. Perhaps a 20% nerf on damage done and a 25% increase in exp gain? Slow down the tempo in PvP combat (p2p). Seriously, the buff/debuff spells are not worth the time. This goes back to the suggestion above... give us more hitpoints, because luck is becoming too important! Mobilizing armies! I can't wait to show off my rts skills. : More bankspace Less grinding. I like how there's a feasible training alternative in Stealing Creation, Tears of Guthix, and the circus. I need more of that to keep the game fun. More f2p content. Yes, I know they don't "deserve" anything. But I'm afraid f2p is becoming less accurate as a trial version of p2p. Let them construct a little shack in Rimmington or something.
  5. Free dragon enchanted bolts would be a little to powerful for my tastes... I'd just say that Jagex reduce the rate at which ranged ammo that breaks. Greatly. It won't be free ranging exp per se, but it'll be an incentive for those who want to range. Your idea's a good one, but I don't support it.
  6. There are only 4 reasons for PC: 1. Void set. Range is worth it, melee is worth it if you only need the helm, and mage isn't worth it. 2. HP exp. This is especially important for mage/range pures. But you're not a pure, it's a waste of pest points since you'll max out hp before all the melee stats 3. Spinner charms. Dunno if it's worth it, though 4. Fun. PC is a safe, fun, but slow way to train. PC is still okayish exp, but there are other ways to train for slightly more exp and more money. Stick with slayer.
  7. You could always borrow one for a low price... Or you could buy the mask, then resell after a few days. You've got the money, you may as well enjoy it. Buy the mask, fool around with it, then sell it again. You won't lose much money, but you'll have a lot of fun for a few days.
  8. Back in the day, I camped out at the lumby chicken farm. Pick up the raw chicken that everyone else leaves behind and cook them. Drop the cooked chicken. Repeat. Otherwise, just cook what you fish. Draynor village has a fishing spot and some trees. Fish by sea-baiting, and cook the fish. By 40 cooking or so (cooking exp comes really fast), you should move on to trout, salmon, and beyond.
  9. This guide is great! The most comprehensive wc guide I've ever seen. All that's missing are some exp rates, but that's forgivable. There's just a little thing to maybe think about. Woodcutting goes well with some runecrafting trips, since you end up with an almost empty inventory after crafting runes. I find it particularly nice to craft earth runes with FoG gloves and lumby ring. Then cut oaks and plank them at the lumberyard, telly to varrock, and repeat. Yes, I cut oaks at 88 woodcutting. It's more about the rcing exp and the money than woodcutting exp, which I see as bonus exp. I dunno if it's worth a mention... Then there's the old air crafting run that cuts the yew tree on the way back. I'm sure there are more examples of such synergies that involve woodcutting.
  10. Minigames. I've had fun with fist of guthix (perhaps too much), and collected all the pest control armors (and then some). I haven't really played castlewars. There's also the runecrafting minigame, which is decent fun, and stealing creation which I haven't tried yet. Then again, let yourself wander for a few days. Go do whatever you feel like doing. Runescape is supposed to be a game, not a chore. Take a one-month break (popping back in for x-mas) and then come back. If all else fails, put on some music, put your brain on autopilot, and go play pest control. It's exciting and random enough so that you can't really get bored, but it's a safe minigame that's quite repetitive, so you don't have to think so hard. You'll also have the company of miserable people who're pushing themselves like crazy to get full void. It's the perfect combination to keep you playing for days (even though you'll be playing in a zombie-like trance). Edit: Guthans set is only 4M now. That and a whip and obby cape and dboots and regen bracelet should only set you back 7.5M total. Fury (2M) is borderline, although I'd say you don't have enough money for it. Slay on!
  11. Earth warriors in edgeville wildy drop so-so amounts of crimsons. I only go there for slayer tasks, but it's the wildy, so you can't stay there too long for fear of losing stuff. But earth warriors also drop decent amounts of runes and herbs, and if it weren't for the wildy, I bet they'd be popular. Slightly off topic: Level up hunting so that it's above your summoning level. Then do tears of guthix. I've only used up 100 gold charms so far. Everything else for my summon exp came from tears of guthix, genie lamps, and quest exp rewards.
  12. Do you have enough available hard drive memory? Anything less than 500MB of free hard drive memory is gonna really slow your computer down. What process is making the CPU go at 100%? Firefox? Btw, is your laptop overheating?
  13. I say all players should have the right to have easy access to a simple but complete version of the Runescape Terms and Conditions. We should also have the right to be notified of any changes in those terms and conditions. As a side note, I couldn't find the terms and conditions using a search on the knowledge base. That's just plain wrong. Besides, if Jagex were to make their own bill of rights, it'll be Basically: We reserve the right to ban you, using our own definition of "reasonable".
  14. That set-up would work... but it's too expensive for my taste. Praying on these is overkill. Also, you've got the potions to stay down there for a long time - are you leaving behind any good drops? I'd personally recommend short trips with melee void, super str and att pots, a beast of burden, and plenty of cheap food you're willing to drop. The bank's only a 2-minute round-trip away with a glory tele, there's no need to make your trips last really long.
  15. It's not that hard to powerlevel those 2 levels. Just go to any decent monster and just kill it. Examples: Ankous Ice warriors / ice giants Pest Control (it's more about the pc points) Cockroaches Giant spiders in SoS I'm sure you can think of other examples. Otherwise, find a way to afford your slayer task. Btw, Master_Smither's advice is worth considering. Unless you're using the Edgeville or Burthorpe masters, you'll make back the points quickly. It'll only take 3-4 hours to make the points back while training attack and slayer at the same time.
  16. http://www.tip.it/runescape/?page=treas ... htm#npcloc In treasure trails you will sometimes get a clue saying something like "Speak to ....". This is a little list of the different NPC's (non-player-controlled) that you can find on treasure trails. You can click on the link after each NPC's name to see a pop-up picture of them. I thought NPC stood for non-player character crew edit: got put there a loooong time ago, lol. fixed.
  17. Do ranarrs and marigolds for cash. Don't worry about having some dead ranarrs. I've done the data collection and the math. 1241 herbs from 212 seeds, including 28 deaths. Including deaths, thats an average of 5.854 herbs per seed. Profit per seed = number of herbs x price of herbs - price of seed profit per seed= 5.854 x 6k - 22.2k profit per seed= 12.9k You'd be hard-pressed to find a more profitable seed. Even if you don't babysit ranarrs, you still get the best profit for herbs at your level. Only switch to snapdragons at level 63. Then you'll be making a lot more money.
  18. These are little tips, really: Farm. You can farm ranarrs now, and it's at least 200k per hour of actual effort. Manage Thy Kingdom. 250k a week for 25 minutes of effort. My biggest regret in RS is not doing the MTK quest until just a month ago. Turn kittens into cats, then sell them for deaths. When skilling, always wear ava's accumulator. Most importantly, find a moneymaking method that you like. For me, it's mining pure ess or smelting cballs.
  19. Is this the easiest, cheapest and fastest way to go, to get the skills I need? 50 -> 52 mining > 300 Gold Ores I believe mining iron - and banking them - is more efficient 41 -> 50 agility > Penguin Course after starting the Cold War quest 57 -> 50 crafting > 500 Silver Tiaras Bracelets with gems (and alching them) should lose you less money 46 -> 59 magic (to start family crest) > 5107 Fire Bolt (5107 chaos runes, 20428 fire runes + air battlestaff) Firebolt, then switch to high-alching stuff 44 -> 50 smithing > 850 gold gauntlets (after completing family crest) That's really expensive, but fast. At least consider steel arrowtips, it's cheaper exp 45 -> 50 thieving > 921 Master Farmers I go for cake and silk stalls in Ardougne. More reliable. 32 -> 45 herblore > 661 energy potion > 661 chocolate bars to 661 chocolate dust + 661 harralander Yup. When you can, switch to prayer pots You can't really have a training method that's the "easiest, cheapest and fastest". Those words conflict with each other ;)
  20. You could always mine iron. 10k ore sounds like a lot, but you should be able to get it in less than 15 hours. Then there's buying ores and smelting steel bars. You'll need about 450k cash to buy enough ores to make it worthwhile. Not sure how much that gets you, but it's a decent moneymaker and it's how I got my first 1M.
  21. I'll assume that the outfit is for general use. You want to get a defender. The strength and attack bonus really helps (unless you fight dragons or something) d boots are worth it, but not absolutely necessary. If you have 2M cash, go for dboots. I personally haven't done rfd, but have d gaunts, which are decent. Not that I use either of them. I forked over the cash for a bracelet of regeneration (800-900k) since it really helps with slaying. Cape... get the obby cape. You can always resell it. Of course, skillcapes are best :P Use rune xbow for ranged. Its power more than makes up for the slow speed.
  22. And something that you don't need to mention. Fair enough, that observation was in bad taste. But the point I wanted to make is that Vista takes copy-protection and digital-rights-management to new levels. When I buy a music CD, I'd like to be able to copy the songs to my harddrive. The continuous genuine-software-check processing may be why Vista is slightly slower than XP. These annoyances are serious enough that I'd take Windows XP over Vista. But if my laptop was handed to me with preinstalled Vista, I wouldn't bother with the effort of installing XP.
  23. Stats, equipment, and budget, please? If you have 55 mage, bring alching runes. Trouts are probably the cheapest food you should consider using to train (they heal 7 hp each). The previous poster's right, you should bring a strength potion. The extra exp is worth the cost. And for the absolute cheapskate, get an explorer's ring, the type that gives you teleports to the cabbage patch. If your trips take longer than 30 minutes each (they should) then just get out of the dungeon or find a safespot and use the home teleport.
  24. I don't know whether you're strong enough or not for f2p pking. Frankly, I think it doesn't really matter. It's about the excitement, not the profit. Besides, you've got the cash to burn. Just get out there and fight. I'd suggest green dhide armor or mage robes. Bring a rune weapons, runes, and maybe ranging equipment (though I think it's underpowered in f2p). You won't lose much if you die.
  25. Assuming you want soundproofing so you can listen to really loud music/ videos alone: Can't you get some good headphones and an extension cord instead? You might not get the surround sound and it only works for one person, but it'll be a lot cheaper than literally soundproofing your room. Otherwise, ignore my advice.
