  1. A useful mining strategy for pvp is to mine at the hobgoblin mines. The hobgoblins provide protection from pkers, and you have time to log while they attack the hobgoblins to get to you. As well there is an abundant supply of iron, mith, coal, and addy. It is also useful as a hot spot to get up your hot spot points for future pking. As well, it's not that far of a run southwest to an anvil to smith some bolt tips to make (if you use superheat) that way you don't need to bank as often. It's recommended to bring a bunyip for healing, or if you're using a lava titan for the mining boost, then put on a d body, and d chaps.
  2. Umm...those are already out...they're called Dragon Squares
  3. Definitely the update will be out tomorrow or Thursday, because two months ago (I believe) they mentioned that on 5 business week months like this one there would be three updates for the month, and of which there would be one week gaps between the updates, but both of the gaps have been filled for this month already (due to the last update in October)...which means back to back updates for 3 weeks in a row!
  4. I tried to do that quest when I was REALLY sleep deprived the day it came out...gave up on the hardest part after trying for two hours on it...was just too sleep deprived to go on. The morning after I decided to use a guide for a last resort on it, and was honestly a bit annoyed that I done everything right except I accidentally turned one crystal wrong. *sigh* Anyway, what I'm trying to say is Guides are a good idea to use as a little reminder of what needs to be done, but they take away from the spirit of the quest if you use a guide to just do the whole quest...kind of makes it as more of an annoying task in the game really.
  5. Usually what I do is get 7-8 lvl 1clay pieces, which I make into 3-4 basic tools and 4 barriers. After that I go scouting for the first lvl 4 clay source I can find. After I get the first lvl 4 piece of clay from that I will make it into the appropriate lvl 4 tool. Then I will go back and get about 7 lvl 4 clay pieces. 4 Of those will be four a barrier, 1 for a summoning pouch, and 2 summoning scrolls. After that I'm usually pretty set. I'll just go back time to time to make runes, and when time starts to get short I'll use the familiar to bank the runes (usually I store the majority of the runes every 5 minutes on it.) If anybody manages to break down my barrier I put another up or mage them to death. Usually I average about 70-75K points a game this way.
  6. I'm thinking that the Grandmaster quest will have much to do with the Mahjarrat and the Dragonkin. As well it may involve the Temple Knights as well to have the artifacts such as the Armadyl staff or the Stone of Jas to hold onto it for "safe keeping." as they'd say. Personally, I agree with Bob the Cat in that the Temple Knights are not to be trusted for they are not as good as they let on.
  7. You should totally do the grandmaster quest that way! People would accuse you of hacking the system lol.
  8. Well the volatile and morphic tools I think will be useful once the bugs are out. I double checked and coal is still at 50 xp with both picks and same as the rune pick. As for Iron ores it is fairly decent. Rune pick: 35 XP (normal action) Morphic pick: 39.5 xp (makes you look like you're using a bronze pick) Volatile pick: 40.5 xp (no action for it and you just stand there)
  9. A couple of suggested changes could help bring back the old school pking feeling I'd think. 1.) Not allow a person to tele or enter a bank until 10 seconds after that player is out of combat. 2.) A player cannot attack somebody unless they have 75K worth of gear to lose or 25K worth of gear to lose (without protect item on)
  10. I agree with some of the previous posters that it is a bit uncalled for Runescape to have a Thanksgiving event. Don't get me wrong I'm from America, but Runescape came from England, and so I think it'd be more convenient if they had an event for Guy Faulks (intentionally mispelled to avoid the censors.) I mean seriously it is a holiday for a well known concept internationally, and even more well known due to the movie V for Vendetta. As for Stealing Creation I anticipate it. I can see myself very easily skilling to make some good gear, and hiring "bodyguards" but not giving them the best stuff I can make, and then turning around and killing them with my best  The Grandmaster Quest will be pretty amazing I think. If I recall correctly Expert is one under Master (of which RFD is master) and Summers End was only an Expert level quest. So a quest with a difficulty level two levels higher than that should be pretty awesome. I may actually have to skill train to do a quest for the first time in a year lol
  11. Well...Runescape taught me how to punch cows j/k Seriously though it taught me back when I was in school about smelting tin and copper to make bronze, about various armor types and the advantages of them. (I actually got a trivia question right at a state tournament because of RS. The question was what metallic armor rangers frequently wore in times of war to cover their torso.) As well, it has boosted my creativity in terms of getting some hard tasks accomplished by looking at my assets (or bank on RS) and figuring out how I can use what I have to get whatever needs to be done. Oh, and because of RS I knew what a Christmas cracker was (before reading the Harry Potter books) and got another trivia tournament question right due to it.
  12. So, as for about three days now I've been unable to login on Runescape to the forums or even the game due to Firefox automatically closing itself out. I can get to the world select screen that is not part of the game itself, but not the login screen before it will close itself out. Any ideas of what the problem is, and how to fix it? I'm currently running AVG, and Ad-Aware to try to remedy this.
  13. the familiar looks to me like the backside of the green brawler in PC with a little bit of armor on *shrug*
  14. The pvp servers are something I've been hoping for since 2003 when I started. Sadly, I was not playing RS when every server was pvp everywhere :( It holds a lot of potential, and over months of time it could be very challenging and level indeed. My primary concern though is that when they come out there will be tag team pkers in non-multi like there were on World 18 before the wilderness was gnarfed. Hopefully though, they remedy this with a simple solution of having it be 20 seconds after a player stops attacking you before a new one can. That would be 10 seconds longer than now, and would give the person not tag teaming a more level playing field.
  15. Gah you beat me on posting this! Well done lol
  16. Blessed shield question. I recently got an elixir, and was wondering if it's possible for somebody to bless your shield with request assistance on or not.
  17. Regeneration Bracelet 150 noted Mahogany logs 70 noted raw sharks Mystic air staff Mystic fire staff 30 watermelon seeds 120 Desert Goat horns (noted) 30 noted tuna potatoes 700 addy arrows
  18. Try searching through the pile of rubble near the portal where the quest starts at.
  19. Well the elixirs and sigils do get auto sold to the GE with CS on, but neither of those items are tradable or buyable from the GE. So it could be 1-2 weeks before anybody has the non quest shield. They're probably doing this to help manage the shield prices.
  20. Good question. Summer did make it sound like the sigils were all around the wilderness, and it's decided the corporal beast drops them...so in theory yes I'd say they do, but it'd probably be as likely as a d chain from dust devils if they do.
  21. 250 rune bolts and 120 desert goat horns are other drops it has...oh and 70 noted raw sharks
  22. We killed it on w 56. It took a team of 8 of us about 20 minutes to kill it for a drop of 2.5K pure ess.
  23. You are missing the canafis bush one (not the same as the port plansmatys one) it's also been spotted in Mortton. I'm 100% positive this is the on you're missing. Maybe it's just me, but I believe you're missing the one that's slightly north of shilo and usually around the nature altar.
  24. I'm sorry, but I just don't believe the Mahjarrat are the original elder race of Gielenor...possibly an elder race from Feneskrae (spelling?) but not from Gielenor. The Dragonkin though are most definitely an elder race though. In fact they are the original race of which all dragons came from, and so forth...I'm unsure about this claim about the dragonkin smithing dragon weapons and armor though. That just sounds like a mix up between them and the Mahjarrat. Also somebody earlier mentioned that the Dragonkin are immortal. If that is the case then how come Robert the Strong was a slayer of Dragonkin before he became Bob the cat?
  25. Doubt that it's something that is stewable, but why try that when you could use a familiar that boosts your firemaking lvl invisibly instead? It'd do the same thing, and would be more stable on lvl.
