  1. There is a huge thing this topic is missing: Nature vs. Nurture. Is it in most animal's nature to fight? Yes. Is it in their nature to fight to the death for absolutely no reason? No. In nature, fights are always done for territorial or resource gain, not out of pure randomness (Random to the creature, not to us). Do Humans fight for out of randomness? Most of the time not. There is usually money involved (a resource). And even if it is random, play fighting (sparing for fun, kids wrestling, ect ect) is just a civil way to get out our lust for violence. Very very rarely do people fight, and kill, just because they felt like it. As well, the meat eating argument is valid because we need meat to survive. Sure there are people who are vegetarians or vegans, but they still require proteins and other nutriants only found in meats, so they must go out of their way to intake these proteins and nutrients.

  3. I'm never doing a PUG where I don't think the original group can stay together, and I won't fight just the last boss... ever.
  4. I watched about a minute and a half of that video. I can't follow it at all, and is mostly gibberish too me. I can't handle the arena style of pvp. I prefer battlegrounds.

Is it just your first name your changing? Is it even possible to change your last name? I have never known anyone in real life that has done this. I don't know if I can really say anything, cause all the names I have in my head are ones that I would give future children of mine, or that I myself would like to have (I'm waaaaay too used to Aaron to give it up. Though Aragorn was tempting since my Father said he wanted to name me that, but my mother wouldn't let him.)
  7. Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. If you look closely on Google maps, you will see a mass of beavers on the shores of the lake. This is my doing.
  8. I try to explore the world around me. My new hobby pretty much (starting this Monday) is to try and go down every street, every alleyway, see as many buildings as possible, and search every forest in my city (I don't start college till September and work only weekends usually, I have time to kill). I think life is boring not really with a lack of action, but with a lack of either education (I'm not talking book education, although that can work too), or exploration. It's cool when something exciting happens action-wise, but trying to find new locations, see and learn things I didn't know before, those kinds of things make my life no longer dull as long as I do it on a regular basis.
  9. I'm just gonna say I don't think he foster parents are a bad idea. Although it really does suck you aren't getting the freedom you really do deserve, I don't think it's to the point where your rights are being taken away (assuming they aren't secretly beating you or something...). Edit: Did I say good? I meant bad!
  10. I say with that, get your councillor involved. If they are gonna pull lines like that, they should know there are people (And i bet you have teachers as some of those people), who respect you, and know you have done well. Also, if I may ask, what are your parent's professions?
  11. What do they want you to study in university? Do they have job they want you to aim for getting.
  12. No. Worst advice. If anyone tried that, I would hope that their parents be harsher on their kid. So...you have massive amounts of pressure and rules holding you from having fun, should you suffer in silence? In my eyes, if trying to negotiate gets you yelled at, this is the only way to get through. Speaking civilly and negotiating is the only way to do it. If it dosen't work, then yes, you have to suffer in silence. Of course the OP's situation is crazy, but for a regular person they are even lucky that they are getting a place to sleep, and food, compared to what other kids could get. Freaking out shows you are nothing but a child that dosen't deserve the freedom of a teenager or adult.
  13. Have you explained to them that the grade A usually refers to 'going above and beyond' what you are meant to? Tell them that if you have a B, you are not really 'average', but it means you are at where you should be. No. Worst advice. If anyone tried that, I would hope that their parents be harsher on their kid.

  16. I enjoy an adventuring. I think most people don't realize that there is still lots to explore. Sure you won't be the first one to find most places, but think about it. Have you seen every city in your town/city? Have you explored all the outskirts of said town/city? To see everything would probably take weeks or months. That's a lot of time, and a lot of things to see and learn and explore. Just because someone has found something, dosen't mean you have.

I'm good, but I think we should change 11. We should use the space on our map for positive things. People that we don't want we can just throw out completely. And i'm sure we can have dungeons in the mod/admin castle for those that are temp banned.

Ok I didn't want to say this but I guess I have to: Tip.it is only responsible for what happens on the forums, the site, and the IRC. The mods and admins in no way, shape, or form can take responsibility for what happens off the site. That being said, don't make of fun of people there.

^ She is right. Oh and I came up with a short anthem: http://www.filedropper.com/tipitsong It's just a tiny .midi file. Trumpet is the only instrument I know, so thats why It sounds like one.

I put it into a program that I have that I can write sheet music with, and its really too short to do with anything with. I might take crack at making something, and see if I can get a midi or mp3.

I edited rules into first post. Any word on the wiki?

Ok, lets try to be constructive now, and not give random stuff. Lets have a few rules here: 1. You will not get your own stuff. Unless you have made some huge contribution to the website or the forums (I'm talking huge, not just some cool thread a few weeks ago or something), you will probably not have anything in your name. 2. Do not be selfish. No one will declare themselves 'commander' or overlord of ANYTHING. I don't care how important or insignificant the job/position is, you will be nominated, or you will not get it. 3. If you make a post in this thread, try to be constructive. This dosen't mean you can not have fun, it just means try not to be too chaotic in thought, and try to work with others, not on your own. 4. We require no military. There will be no more work on any military force, or military vehicles (For the time being). I think with these base rules, we can work together and actually make this a fairly cool thread, as well as a cool island ;)

Yes, it will be either original (As not to break copyright and such), or we could use Noobiean Rhapsody in memory of Bubsa perhaps.
