  1. Unless I'm mistaken (which is likely; I'm just speculating), 2h swords are more based on claymores, and as such are appropriately animated. It's possible that Jagex is simply messing up their facts, but I thought they were going for more of a celtic bash-your-head-in claymore-ish style. Anyway, I haven't used a 2h in over a year, but I do enjoy the new animation.
  2. Very nice kills, especially the multitude of dh. Very gutsy of you to use Dfire shield. What's the story behind the chain kill? judging by your invo, I take it you were in dh, but he has mage gear.
  3. Looks good. I'll give this a view soon and edit in my thoughts.
  4. Kids, just say no to pking. Pking kills. Spread the word.
  5. Rares usually rise like this over the summer (lots more people playing), so you probably shouldn't count on a continual trend over to October. If you want a mask, keep it; but if the sole purpose that you have one is to make money off of it, then I'd advise against it. Unless you're quitting for a long time or buying tons and tons of them, rare investments typically don't pay off well enough to make it worth your while.
  6. Boom son@. Grats on that spotted cape man.
  7. As 12une said (sort of - he suggested spinning flax in general), spin it. If you've already horded a ton of flax, spinning is the best idea; even if in the forseeable future jagex does something to dampen the flax autoers, you'll still make over 10m from making those in to bowstrings. And yeah, if you're just deciding what to put into your kingdom, flax is pretty much out of the question now. You'll do better with 100% herbs 50% coal/maples.
  8. 98... so close, so close. Best of luck with 99 (despite the fact that fishing involves absolutely no luck whatsoever)! :)
  9. Unless you do w16 airs for RC, and have 100M+ to spend on prayer, both of those will be virtually impossible on free play. I suggest getting members, if you insist on those skills. On members you can craft nats/guilded altar, making both prayer and RC infinitely easier. Choosing prayer and RC may have been a mistake; those are two of the most arduous, difficult, and expensive skills. If you're looking for something impressive but decently easy, I would suggest a combat stat (99 att, str, def, etc.) or a useful, afk-able skill (fishing, woodcutting, etc.) 99 in combat stats on F2P is difficult but much more than possible if you afk in the Stronghold of Security, and fishing and wc fairly pretty easy (fly fish for fishing, or cut willows for woodcutting) and can both pay off well if you decide to become a member.
  10. Yes, it works; people have tried various (e) bolts, and they all work. It would be an interesting idea to try if you feel like dishing out a little extra cash (in comparison to cbows), as the bolts would also help against 180s and 360s.
  11. I thought the point of going from a worthless item to a rare was to merchant your entire way up, not to receive donations from people. I hate to say it, but the way this is going, it's looking more like a donation topic than it is a recreation of the paperclip-to-house scenario. The paperclip thing has been done, as many people have said, by Mario Sunny a while back.
  12. I like the new player kits, but the new trade chat definitely takes the cake. Over all a great update. Currently over 400 people in fight pits, by the way; quite a few tokkul for anyone dedicated enough. ;-)
  13. Excellent guide; thanks to this, the knights were a breeze. I experimented with using sara brews as well as sharks, something I think made it much easier. Because I was shark/brewing, I was healing 35 hp per eat, and my def was boosted, making the knights that lower def simple. My setup was... Super set, 5 normal restores (4), 6 brews (4), 9 sharks, two monks, A V flail, dagger, and whip (I was wearing full v, rune boots, kite, glory, fletching cape, and barrows gloves). In the end, I brought way too many brews; only used 8 doses. I used 3 doses of attack pot, 1 dose of str pot, and no doses of def pot. I used 10 doses of normal restore, and five sharks and two monks. It was incredibly easy, thanks going to this guide, and, of course, to the brews. :) E: I'm 99 combat (85/70/80).
  14. Bans only last for an hour, I believe? It's a pain that you can't have more than one room open at a time. I'd love to talk on the channel private to just my siblings and on the TIF channel, but alas...
  15. Grats Corr. It's fantastic to see you post a mini on TIF again.
  16. I really don't feel like mapping out the entire math of it, but by carefully planning between skills, giving all genies to slayer, and excessively using a cannon I'd estimate that, in theory, it's most definitely possible. This isn't to say that I believe one exists; in fact, it would require so much work and meticulous planning that I'm skeptical as to whether it was really an untrimmed slayer cape that you saw.
  17. It's called an obby pure. Has already been thought of and employed (many, many times), I'm afraid.
  18. That file type looks incredibly suspicious, considering it's censored... why didn't you just post the image? I would advise that no one look at that until it's confirmed safe. =x
  19. This thread is almost three months old, and Ed has since quit... #-o Old, bumped topics make me sad. Please don't bump them.
  20. HYT

chessmastuh replied to Socrates's topic in General Discussion
I don't recognize everyone I hyt. These boards have over 160,000 registered users, with over 1,000 frequent posters - I'd be incredibly surprised if anyone hasn't hyt'd someone that they'd never actually seen post.
  21. Terrible, but I'm not quite sure what you were expecting. Someone who's cheated against you before asks for a no-prot dm, and you accept, thinking he'll abide by it? =\ I understand that you don't back out of dm's, but you really should draw the line at cheaters.
  22. It has its ups, it has its downs. Obviously it's not the ultimate weapon; there still needs to be a competition for it. If you know what you're doing, and like using it, then yes, I'd suggest you get it. It's all a matter of preference. Keep training, and try it out if you can. If you dislike it, sell it back and use something else.
  23. Karil's is a godsend for CW/MB/Dragons pking. Its amazing mage def is certainly useful. Torag's is excellent for a relatively cheap, good set of armor; Verac's, as many people say, is excellent for KQ, staking, and in general any time in which decent def and a prayer boost is required; Guthan's is excellent for slayer and DKs, two amazing moneymakers; Dharok's is actually an excellent str training set, and an amazing pking/DMing tool; Ahrim's is all-around essential for anyone who even hopes to hybrid seriously, no matter where they are in the wilderness. All of the sets have the general purpose of being excellent, relatively cheap pieces of armour with an added bonus of a special effect.
  24. Argh. Rather than voting for something interesting, something that could actually keep our attention, the majority went and voted for the least interesting choice on the list. I voted for the Fremennik province as well. Such an interesting spot...
  25. I do so wish that the general public would stop whining about over/underpowered combat stats. Everything has its place - as most have said before me, used correctly magic is amazing. I'll concede, however, that the pking community does try incredibly hard to make magic bad. What with constant crying about farcasting etc., edge is trying to be made into a solely torso-whip-dds spot, something I find terribly boring. I say get defence, don some mage tank gear and barrage your heart out. You'll find that on its own magic is deadly - especially against a wild who's tried its hardest to get rid of mage so that it can stop bringing hides.
