  1. I'd go with a 360 if at all possible, but if not, pick up Guitar Hero 3 and Super Mario Galaxy for Wii, definitely. For the DS, Metroid Prime Hunters and Zelda: Phantom Hourglass are fantastic, and if Walmart's section offers it (I'm not sure if they do) you could drop a pre-order in on Assassin's Creed for the DS, if you'd like.
  2. And DDS hits incredibly high and incredibly quickly against no armor, so using a GS is a waste of a spec. Even if there str is lowered, it makes no difference - you're gambling the entire stake on getting a higher than 20 spec, something too risky and much too slow to bet on. They can get an easy 2-3 specs in the time it would take you to get their str down significantly, and even then the speed of their whip would make up for the difference. Definitely go with DDS/whip - if you get 40-ish defence, decent str, and 70 attack, you can easily get people 7-or-so levels higher than you to 2x you, and you'll win the majority of the stakes anyway since your attack and str will match theirs. A GS is just too bulky and too slow to be used effectively in a stake. With armor off, the difference between a whip and a GS in terms of hits is minimal anyway, and the increased speed of the whip makes all the difference. (Note: I wrote this assuming you're doing armor off, and I now realize you might not be. Armor on typically doesn't make as much money, but since I've never really had any experience with it, I can't help you with that.)
  3. Pk more Skill less /end
  4. It's not your fault, it's the fault of the general dragons pking community - it's not like you guys are the cause of the whole mess that involves the dragons clans nowadays. I may have been a bit pushy with my point, but I'm just trying to express all the pent-up frustration I have with the state of that area. Dragons used to have potential as a sort of mini-mb area, but now it just seems to be the extreme of mb: clans praying on sight with over 12 brews and fighting for a few minutes only to spend hours on the forums fighting like children. I know the clans rivalling you do the exact same thing to you, and that's why I'm really hesitant to say all this. Still, though, something needs to be said about the state of dragons. Everything's only been going downhill, and there's no end in sight. Just take a look at Brutality's gallery on RSC - they flame to such an extent that after a while it just makes them look like elementary school kids calling each other names. I strived to start pking greens, but now that I'm close enough to a level where I can begin I've actually been repulsed by the attitude of most teams. I mean, I know some people get off on it, but I don't want to pk in an environment where I don't respect my opponents and they don't respect me; I want genuine, healthy competition where we can have a fight without clawing at each other's throats. I used to know a few PP members, so that was really the only clan I felt I could make a difference in, but now... what am I expected to do? Start my own team? Most dragon pkers already flock towards whoever flames the most on RSC, and that's completely counter-intuitive, and that's exactly what's fueling the fire. It's a vicious cycle, and in the end, no one wins. Really, this is all a massive digression, but I need to vent on this topic somehow... I've had enough of it, had enough of everything. I hope you can understand my position here, and I know it seems like I'm being overly dramatic, but just sift through the galleries of dragons teams and you'll see what I'm talking about.
  5. Err... The amount of flaming in the video completely turned me off - you can say you don't mean it, but when the majority of kills are met by a "gf kid", "gf nerd", or your clan spamming "[clan] downed" after one kill, I don't get the impression that you're kidding around. Praying or being nh is one thing and I don't really care, but calling your opponents "nerds" on an online java-based game is pretty ridiculous. Pking isn't being ruined by nh, it's being ruined by players who refuse to respect anyone but themselves. Pking-wise I suppose it was decent for a drags video, but I'm generally not into 30-man teams chasing down single kills for ten minutes. If you're into that sort of thing then purely in pking terms it might be entertaining, but I prefer very small teams to massive clans. Again, the lack of respect for anyone else generally ruined it for me... I don't know. I just don't know how to put this. I'm interested in drags pking in general and would really like to get into it, but it seems none of the teams pk for fun or challenge anymore; it seems to be all about winning and convincing everyone on the forums that you're better. When the opponent prays on sight, teles, or brings tons and tons of brews I can shrug it off, but I just can't enjoy myself and have a good time when the only thing that fuels a competition is hate.
  6. That's... romantic, I suppose? At least he didn't line up bodies, right?
  7. This is also leaving out all of the 'adult' adverts I've gotten over the years. Advertisement on their site is one of those things that I always assume they should be watching extra carefully; they get so much revenue from ads and it annoys me to such an extent that I really wish they'd better monitor it. Personally I can't stand the adverts on the RS site - another reason why I stay away from f2p. Is my computer the only one that freezes up every time they change?
  8. Very impressive. How'd you manage to get him to skull?
  9. It really is an excellent idea, but I'm sad to say that I doubt they'll do it. While the ultimate outcome of the event would be permanent, it's true, Jagex doesn't like releasing temporary content - the holiday events are rare deviants from the rule. The ideas you came up with would end up being minigames. This withstanding, I'm with you that I would love to see something like this. We need more massive co-op bosses/battles, and this would readily provide. It also would offer a break from the repetition of this game - rather than doing tons of rounds of pest control over and over (or sitting at bandits all day not even paying attention), they could offer an actual unexpected onslaught, something you can't be prepared for. Aww, now you've gone and got my hopes up.
  10. Snape grass is 400-500 each. Though not amazing cash, if you get waterbirth teles and a bunch of glories, from what I remember it's a solid 350-400k per hour. It can get dull, but if you listen to music while collecting it can be an easy way to relax and work up some quick cash. I've always had a soft spot for barrowing when I need cash - you could try that.
  11. Pantim has it down, except for one thing: wear vambs, not metal gloves from RFD. Vambs reduce your mage by a lot, whereas metal gloves from RFD actually increase it (not so sure about this, so you should verify - I know my barrows gloves give better mage boost than mystic gloves, though). My personal favorite spot to fail curse is on the caged zombies below the mage guild. If you find it lonely down there or can't get in, going on the opposite side of the ditch and cursing a guard works too - you can watch fights while doing it. Just make sure to turn the trade/duel option off, so that people don't lure you in.
  12. If you have friends that own 360s and have extensive libraries of games, then I'd suggest spending a few days trying everything out first. There are always people here who will love it and people here who will hate it, so really the only person to judge whether it'll be worth the money is you. If you're only looking at it because of Halo 3, then I'd say no on principle - only get it if you try it and you're really into the system or enjoy most of the games. On another note, it annoys me that all these topics turn into console wars lol. We get it, you like your system, let's address Skill's concerns please.
  13. Very nice bike. On the upside of the accident, it looks practically new now. :P Sorry about your friend, and I'm glad you two are generally fine. It just goes to show that protective padding really does help. Does your friend's insurance cover his bike, or is he going to have to pay for a new one?
  14. Safari Zone is just one of those things I've never been able to understand. It's as if you either have the Safari Zone touch, or you don't. There's no middle ground. I'll spend my entire time searching around, missing my chances because I don't understand the bait/mud combination, and then I'll pass it off to my brother and he'll pad our pokedex by 10 in 6 minutes. Is there any particular strategy you use? My brother (who's a wizard at catching anyway) claims that it's just a hereditary feeling. Do you do any order for the baiting/mud flinging?
  15. Skullator's tenth, last video. An amazing video by an amazing pker. Granted most of the clips are older than June 07, but the clips are very entertaining - lots of soloing, hybriding, god spells, DH, and some p2p multi, all at Mage Bank. I haven't listened to the music, so listen at your own risk, I can't tell you whether it's offensive or not. Megaupload if the Filefront link isn't working - the Filefront link is iffy in terms of loading.
  16. I think there are around 20? Someone posted the number on another forum before, but I can't seem to find the topic. :s I'll edit in if I can find it. EDIT: Chess 4 super sleuth of the year tbh.
  17. I've always sort of wanted to wander the English countryside - don't know where or how, specifically, but God from what I've seen it looks beautiful. Also could harvest myself a sophisticated accent. That, or Japan. Everything about Japan appeals to me. Just... everything.
  18. I still play my old Sega Genesis from time to time - it is, and always will be, my favorite system. I grew up with that thing, and it's amazing how now, 10+ years later, I'm still having just as much fun with it.
  19. Heh. I wouldn't put it past them, but still I doubt there'll be much hubub in the anti-violent-video-game movement; plastic attachments like this have been around as controls for shoot'emup arcade games for a long time running now, and I'm sure even they'd be hard-pressed to dig up such an age-old debate. I'm glad this is being released - I've been griping to my friend who owns Redsteel ever since it was released that they should have a special attachment for FPSes. The Wiimote just wasn't cutting it. Is there an official page for this thing that I could link him to?
  20. Earl Grey representin'. Tea is also incredibly convenient for schoolwork/studying, since it helps me pace myself. Even the few seconds it takes to have a sip can help one relax in the face of mounting stress. Add on the comforting heat and possible health benefits and it's an excellent all-around comfort drink. I go with two small spoonfulls of sugar - seems to give a mug just enough sweetness without detracting from the taste.
  21. Yes! That way I could draw lewd pictures with my friends all 'round the world. Does anyone really use pictochat except for that? I was under the impression that was its main use. But yeah, mic support and the Xbox-live-like system would be incredibly handy. I'm relatively content with the consoles released now. Rather than focus on new consoles, I'd much prefer if game companies worked towards fully utilizing the potential capabilities of their systems - more complex, thorough games that take the hardware capabilities (or creative capabilities, in the case of the Wii and DS) to new levels rather than shelling out games until we get bored and the next opportunity for a console hype comes around.
  22. Bleh. Lucky devil. Last week I spent a good hour and 20 minutes fishing for the right Remoraid - it took me over 25 Remoraids to finally get one that at least boosted Sp. Att in some way. In the end it was Modest, though, for which I was hoping to get onto my Octillery, so I suppose all's well that ends well. By the sound of it, I take it you went and bought Fire Red? A wise choice. I'm still not big on Mr. Mime, though, lol. And does anyone know how to get into the Veilstone City Galactic HQ? It says there's supposed to be a grunt in front of the building that drops a keycard that allows you in, but I've been there many times since first coming upon Veilston, and to my recollection there's never been anyone in front of the building. To anyone that's gotten in: how far into the game were you when you got the keycard from the grunt out front? I'm worried I've already ran into him and without thinking missed my chance. I'd much prefer not to wait until finishing the Elite Four to evolve my Misdreavus. >_>
  23. Super Smash Bros Melee. Basically all you'll ever need, lol. I'd also suggest Mario Power Tennis, Legend of Zelda: Windwaker, Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, WarioWare: Mega Party Games (if you're into the whole WarioWare franchise; personally, I love it), and, if you're never going to get a Wii, you might as well get Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess as well. Now, yes, it's a game directed at 8-year-olds, but for some reason I really love my Gotcha Force. Don't expect anything more than robot-toy-battling, but for some reason I find it incredibly addictive. If you're not into the whole poorly-translated Japanese toy robot fighting games scene, then you may want to skip it, but I can't give a list of my preferred GC games without mentioning it.
  24. Set in stone means..? I mean that after twelve hours of there being honey on the tree, the game will have selected a species of pokemon to be on the tree, but not the gender/nature/ability/level/etc. This is programmed so that you'll be allowed to turn the game off and on and try the same tree to get a different gender or level on a pokemon you want, but you won't be able to turn it off and on and try again to get an entirely different species of pokemon. If you spread honey on a tree and after twelve hours a Combee comes up, you can turn it off and on to try for a higher level or different gender, but you can't turn it on and off to try and get a Heracross on the same tree instead. Sorry if I'm not being clear enough. :s And I'd help you with your previous questions but I know absolutely nothing about contests. From previous posts it seems that Necro's good at them, but berries and contests have never been attractive for me.
  25. The percentage of male:female is 87.5% to 12.5%. Really the easiest way to get a female is to do a round of honey trees (there's a guide somewhere if you google search it that has all the locations), save before each tree, and if you run into a combee that's male, turn it off, turn it on, and try again. It takes a while, but trust me, eventually you'll get a female one (after 12 hours of honey being on the tree the species is always set in stone, but gender/level/nature/IV/etc. are all up for grabs) and it's a hell of a lot easier than hatching a bunch of eggs.
