Jagex updates us with info on Real World Trading (RWT)
I, for one, am glad they're finally doing something. Taking a firm stance against RWT is indeed the best way to combat botting without having to reset the entire way the game is coded. Incorrect bans occur every day, and are a harsh reality; it's a small price to pay. I, as well, believe their trade-tracking system actually works. Recently a friend loaned me some quite expensive gear for some Fight Caves attempts, and we traded them on and off a few times, depending on when he/I needed them, and so far I've seen no incorrect repremanding for it. I can't be sure what exactly their system is, but I'm content to know that they're taking the initiative over there and asserting themselves against the autoers.

4 June 2007 - Grim Tales
Hah. I don't meet any of the requirements. Ouch. The helm isn't quite as good as Neitiznot in defence boosts, and gives no prayer boost; looks like this is another one for me to skip.

Possibility of other metal C-Balls?
That's what she said. Hi-oh! *high fives my inner 10 year old* On a serious note, I doubt they'd have plans to change it now, seeing as cannons were released three or so years ago.

Decline In Fury Prices
Personally, I'm glad fury prices are crashing. Furies were way too expensive for their worth anyway; rightfully, they should cost around 3m each. 5m for something that's barely better than a glory is just ridiculous.

How Many Times Have You Beaten Penace Queen?
Yep, defender on queen is incredibly easy, and rightfully so; defender on wave 9 is hell on earth for anyone who isn't really experienced. My record time was all runners dead in 40 seconds. =D I've beaten the queen definitely over 50 times. I could probably figure it out, but so far I've maxed out defender, gotten 500 defender points a few times after that, and gotten full penance (minus the runner hat - should have it soon). By the way, not to steal this space for advertisment, but I, as well, am always open to play a few rounds if you're going for a torso or something. Drop me a PM.

Where's SaidinWoT? Weekly Tracking Reports
That's... quite the thank-you list, Saidin. I'm honored to be listed amongst the glory that is those who have been thanked. And be honest here: how much did Erk pay you for the sponsorship?

How do you pronounce the barrows brothers names?
Dharok - Dah-rock. Karil - Care-ehl. Torag - Tore-ag. Ahrim - Ah-rim. (Pretty self explanitory. =x) Guthan - Guth-'n. (Usually slur over the "i".) Verac - Ver*-ack (*as in "very") I really couldn't imagine it any other way than how I pronounce them... I think I've pretty much stuck to the book.

_-'-_ A PC world, just like Laws runners _-'-_
The high levels moved out of w78 for a reason. Simply put, they came upon the realization that if they banded together and hopped around worlds, they'd get tons more experience than they will when they have to put up with noobs. This is fact, and applies to your idea as well. Why would the high levels support the two worlds when they can always just stick to their groups and get 100k/hour? There has to be some motivation for them as well, which means that saying "ok, come to our world now" doesn't quite pull it off.

how many skillcapes and rares do you own?
One santa, one fletching cape. The santa doesn't quite count, though, seeing as it was a gift. My sister owns 15 banked monkies, something that I consider a "rare" and partially my property (I assisted in getting them, in a few ways). She collected them before Jagex updated it so that they were unbankable. I'm dying to know whether other people have these.

teleporting: do you rely on it? (largish image warning)
I would never bother to do any quests without teleports. Teleports are the most useful thing in the entire game (bank PINs aside), and I can't imagine how I ever got by without them. I rarely ever walk from city to city anymore; teleporting makes everything a thousand times faster.

Wealth or life, Strength Or Glory. Which do you wear?
Life/Glory. Attack over str at all times, and since ROW does so little anyways, I always like to afford to use a ROL, as it's saved my skin more than once.

Raven6666's mini-guide to choosing the reward from BA.
Ughh. My circle of BA addicts and I wanted to keep this a secret until we had confirmed whether it worked... I guess the secret is out, then. Pray Jagex doesn't fix it. Although you have to wonder... the gear seller says three separate sentences before announcing the phrase that you use to tell what prize you get. This seems pretty arbitrary, doesn't it? My theory is that Jagex put it in there on purpose, with the knowledge that since a chain is virtually impossible based on honest gambling, they'd need to put in a sort of "cheat" to give people a chance. That, or just to mock us when we mess up (I've failed at it around 5 times). A little tip for people trying this out: the biggest killer, and I cannot stress this enough, is private messages. At all times while trying this out you must have your private chat on "OFF". Two of my slip ups and a lot of the slip ups people I know have been the result of PMing friends. They'll look up, see a PM, answer it, come back (and forget which sentence number they're on), click three times, and get a rune pickaxe for their half-hour of clicking. Besides for that it's just concentration and not-messing-up-ness. On a final note, if you're still doing this, I'm dying to know the odds of a chain from him. This guide would be amazing if you added the odds. =P

What Non-Combat Skill Would You Rather Have 99/99?
Mining or fishing, doubtless. Both of those are skills of which I constantly tell myself "hey, that'd be pretty easy [to get 85 in], I'll start tomorrow"; neither of which has every actually been "started" beyond level 60. As to reasoning, rune mining is something that everyone dreams of, and making 150-200k an hour while afk (i.e. fishing) is an honest fantasy.

RC pking a new sport now?
I enjoy RC pkers. It adds some danger and fun to the monotomy of RCing. To be honest, none of them can pk anyway (ergo they're RC pking), and are little threat to anyone who knows how to click on an ectophial. Does it even make money, though? Glories are down to 50k each, and a set of TB and tangles are... 2k? Assuming one tries to kill 10 RCers before succeeding (which is a gross overstatement anyway, I rarely see a pker actually down someone), that's a 30K profit. To match what you'd get from RCing itself, you'd have to kill over 7 RCers an hour. Is it just me, or does it sound like the pkers would be making more money RCing?

Does anyone actually care about 99 firemaking?
Having an interesting cape doesn't justify FM in the least for me. For starters, it's utterly useless; besides for usage in two or three quests, and pyre burning, the skill has virtually no use. Secondly, it's soul-crushingly boring. I play this game to have fun and enjoy myself, not to mindlessly click away hours and hours of my life to get a pixellated cape that no one else really cares about. As a small last point, it consumes money without any payback of any sort. I respect that people enjoy it, though, and understand that I don't enjoy the same things everyone else does. If you like burning logs, more power to you; I personally see no use in it.

6 March 2007 - Great Brain Robbery
Looks interesting, may be finally worth it to get my farming to 30 (shudders) to do this quest. The anchor looks like the new way to train str, due to it's huge hits and fast attack speed, but only time will tell. Scimitars give 66 str boost in comparison to the anchor's massive 80, which is only 2 under what whips are. With an attack speed only a little slower than scim, this thing is looking promising. Of course, the minute it's proven that it's a lot better for str training, Jagex will undoutedly "fix" it... =\ Only time will tell.

Tip.it's Stance on Luring (with Jagex's official stance)
Jagex's definition of scamming, available in the Knowledge Base: That seems to fit the definition of luring, no? "Acquisitioning" another player's items by convincing the player that you're buying/selling something (misinformation), then killing them when they get into the wilderness to trade with you (taking advantage of basic trust)? I asked Jagex about it around half a year ago, and the response I got said that luring was not permitted. However, I have seen screenshots of different mods saying different things; even Jagex can't decide what do do with this one. We cannot turn to them for the answer, as they obviously cannot internally make up their minds, therefore we should turn to their list of rules. I'm pretty sure luring fits right under there with scamming, as it fits the definition given by Jagex.

Tip.it's Stance on Luring (with Jagex's official stance)
To start, ethics have nothing to do with religion, whatsoever. Because I'm just not half as articulate as those darned dictionaries: (Taken from M-W.com, the Merriam-Webster's official site) Main entry: eth-ic Pronunciation: 'e-thik Function: noun Etymology: Middle English ethik, from Middle French ethique, from Latin ethice, from Greek EthikE, from Ethikos 1 plural but singular or plural in construction : the discipline dealing with what is good and bad and with moral duty and obligation 2 a : a set of moral principles : a theory or system of moral values -- often used in plural but sing. or plural in constr. bplural but singular or plural in construction : the principles of conduct governing an individual or a group c : a guiding philosophy d : a consciousness of moral importance In other words, ethics are those unwritten laws that state "thou shalt not be a jerk." When I reffer to ethics, I mean in a moral sense, saying that doing something that is unethical is doing something that harms another, or is not just, in a cosmic sense. To your first point: you misunderstand me completely. =\ I'm not saying "it's scamminbg because of personal benefit", I'm saying it's scamming because you're lying to and hurting (not just in the game; I'm reffering to emotionally) another player in a way that benefits you. You're decieving them, harming another human being, simply so that you can get a stack of yellow dots. That was what I was saying. @ghostisalive: What do you mean by camping? Like, spawn camping? I was under the impression that that was a tactic used only in FPS'. =P

The Road to 99 Range - 95 Range!!
Aah, so that is the spot. Knowing you and your obsession with the bandits, here I was deducing that it was chinchompas + prayer pots + a cannon at bandits. I do say I was on to something, but I concede defeat. An ingenious spot, and yet, nowhere near as manly as powering. Those of us with the most hair on our forearms buckle down and spend 3 months at the Greaters Cage. That, or those of us with the least cash. Best of luck. I'm sure you'll enjoy 99 range.

World 99! Protecting Rcers! SIGN UP TO FORUM!!
<33 I'm RCing on 99 all the time, and there are usually 2-3 level 80-90 pkers harassing RCers. Most of them try and tangle and fail, and after a few rounds go away; in 30k+ ess over the past month I haven't ever come close to being RC pked, if that gives you a good estimation of how bad they are. Would be some easy mystic/rune for whomever feels like heading over there.

Tip.it's Stance on Luring (with Jagex's official stance)
Finally someone argues with me. Took quite a long time. =\ Let's get to this, shall we? (Quotes butchered to seriously cut down on post-length) Your view here strikes me as blaming the victim, which I seriously don't want to do. It's true that lurers use the prospect of a high price to drag sellers into the wilderness, but I'd venture to say this shouldn't be labeled as the "seller's greed". It is the greed of the seller (if you must put it that way), but it isn't malicious greed, such as that of the lurer, but a more innocent kind, one of someone just trying to sell/buy something for as good of a price as they can get. The part that I have bolded, in addition, is simply untrue; you can't just say that since the warning screen is there, obviously the seller/buyer is aware of the lure attempt, and you also can't say that it's their fault because of the screen. The warning screen really doesn't help - if you've been lured before, you'd know that they have ways of making you disregard it. Sure.. Go for it.. I for one have played this game long enough, or simply been alive long enough, to generally know when someone is trying to deceive me. There is a reason sayings like "Too good to be true" and "No such thing as a free lunch" exist in this world --- its because they are true. Personally, I'd rather be taught a lesson like that online than in the real world. You may not be, but I get angered at the idea that there are people out there who spend the majority of their time trying to steal things from other people over the internet. A level that petty is just low, and for that I'm quite dissapointed with the community of RuneScapers that supports these actions (the various fansites/forums, etc.) You make it seem like they're just wasting their time with it, so it doesn't matter. And maybe they are; yet the idea of it still stands in their minds, which concerns me more than any amount of items that they win from this. Secondly, again, I'd like to stay away from blaming the victims in this situation. If someone is ignorant enough at the time to fall for a lure, it doesn't mean you can simply blame them for it. Not everyone is as experienced and mature as you are, and as such, it is inevitable that people will fall for lures. This, however, does not justify the luring in itself. I'd venture to argue that GENERALLY, this is untrue. Most people nowadays who are stupid enough to still fall for these lures fall under two categories: People who have played since RSC or before, and just happened to be lucky enough to keep one of these items stashed in their bank before they quit/went on hiatus/etc, but obviously have not been putting in the time others have since they stashed their rares. People who have friends who gave them items when their friend quit. Drop party, etc. Generally, a player who has earnestly put the time and effort into accumulating the massive amount of wealth it takes to own these items, has enough knowledge of the game to know better than to step into the wild with it. MOST of the people who get lured nowadays are those who HAVE NOT put the work into their pixels, they achieved them through some other means (and who is to say those were legit methods). There is a reason people lure low level on their lvl 70's-80's, because these are the same levels as people who don't earnestly deserve their rares as they haven't put the time and effort into getting them. When was the last time you saw a 120+ tree luring? To my recent recollection, everytime I've walked past a lure they've been in the lower 80's, supporting the idea that those who have actually put their time into this game are the ones who aren't being lured because they know better - and thus deserve and have earned their pixels. Even if you wanted to argue the low combat due to merchanting/skilling -- you'd still have to invest massive amounts of time and effort into knowing the ins/outs of Runescape, and as a merchant you'd come across smaller scams long before you got lured for a santa+ and ought to have a general idea that "too good to be true" is a reality. I'd actually say that the majority of people who fall for lures are not those who fall under the two categories that you mentioned (or, at least, the second category). While it's possible that there are a lot of people who have horded rares, the odds of them selling said rares and getting lured are low - most hoarded rares are either still being hoarded, or are by now in the market (note that this is speculation, and I have absolutely no idea about the truth behind this matter, but to me this is the most logical assumption). As for the second category, I really don't think that there are a whole lot of people selling on the market who fall into that category (again, this is speculation, as neither of us know the true numbers behind this, yet it is to me the most logical assumption). I dothink that the majority of the people selling rares/buying rares right now are, for the sellers, merchants who have spent a large amount of their time mustering the cash, and for the buyers, honest people who happen to have ammassed that much cash and have spent a huge amount of their time getting said cash. As for the merchants, it's true, most of them are wise to it, but since the fact of the matter is that many, many merchants do get lured, we must assume that not everyone is wary enough to not trust these people. As for the buyers, well, the same thing stands; many buyers get lured, and as this is usually their first time buying something of this magnitude, they may not be wise to the trick either. I wish everyone had the support of fansites like this communities does and could learn the tricks of the wild, but they don't. Not everyone who spends a good deal of their time earning the cash can recognize these tricks, and I think while you make a good point that the person should be able to, in reality, there are a massive amount of people who don't, as seen by the huge posts of lures on the RSC Graveyard section. I'm going to stop there before this paragraph becomes a mass of incomprehension, so I desperately hope you grasp what I mean here. The last point is such a frustrating one to make, as neither of us do, or ever will, know which category the majority of the people being lured fall into. I suppose we'll never come to an agreement, as I have a completely different logical assumption on the matter from you, which changes my entier perspective. That post took about 30 minutes... thanks for the wonderful argument. =) If you wish to take it further, please, I implore you to retort to my arguments here, but for fear of being yelled at for a massive quote-tower, I'm going to refrain from continuing the debate on my end. I'd absolutely love to hear your response to my current post, however.
