Thank you to everyone for your help. My post got eaten by the page 51 monster again. I may repost it but I think I'll wait till the forums calm down a bit. ~Jay [hide= original message]Hello everyone, Many of you don't know me, I'm not out spoken, and tend to stay quiet. But I have a faith in Tip.It that has lasted as long as it has been around. This is why I come to you. Now I know this isn't aloud, or if it is the right place to put it, but I need help. I wrote a large post, on the Runescape Official Forums about improvements to the game, but there are so many people posting in the suggestion forum that I fear my post will be eaten by the page 51 monster. This is why I come to you. I need you too look at it, and talk on it, suggest ideas, but most of all read it. I'm trying to do something good here, and it is hard, I need help. If you can spare a moment, even if it is just to bump it, please do. I'm sorry to everyone to ask like this, but I'm just trying to do some good. The quick find code is 24-25-699-54789054. It is called "Simple Solutions!" Thank you to everyone, for even reading this post, thank you more for post on that one. Once again, my sincerest thanks to everyone, your post my just might make the difference. ~ Jay Upon Request a copy of the post: [hide= Simple Solutions!] Hello everyone, I know there is going to be a lot of speculation as to anything I might say, because a lot of people are trying to have the updates turned back. This isn't what I want. I have seen the topics about suggestions for specific things, but I believe that if I post my own topic, for the second time, and prevent it from getting the page 51 monster, these ideas may be seen. Any support or free bumps are very welcome. PLEASE no flaming or irrational behavior. If you have idea's, POST them I'll add them in, we are all just trying to make things better for ourselves. I really am proud that Jagex could come out and say that there updates are not perfect, and that they want to change them to make US, the players, happy. They are willing to make a profit sacrifice (I mention this only because of the snide comments about Jagex being only in it for the money) to make the game better. All of these updates, be they small or big, are proof of the dedication to the players. They pump out many updates a month, more then they have too, because they want to see us happy, it is because of this that I want to CONSTRUCTIVELY suggest ideas that may improve the game. RWT is a vast issue that was dealt with by Jagex, because it ruins the game for the legitimate people. By changing Staking, Pking, Lootshare, Deaths, and the trade market (Grand Exchange, and the upcoming trade limits.), they are working to keep the game we love alive. I would like to present some options to improve these aspects to try and satisfy some of the players. In all of the suggestions, we have to not only think about what we want, but ways to keep the game safe from the cheaters, no one likes them, we all whine and complain so lets work together to build upon this game, and let it shine in its glory. ~Grand Exchange~ I believe that the Grand Exchange was long over due, the concept and ideals behind it allow for the players, once again a thought for us, to interact with others in a way that allows us to still play the game. The issue for a lot of players is that the item prices don't fit a market we were used to, now I don't purpose that the 5% difference in price is eliminated, as it helps to keep a market stable, but with current prices some items will never change in price because people are not willing to sell at a loss, or buy them expensive. This is where I would like to present some options. If there was a place (maybe a special booth, or NPC) or an option with the items, where without purchasing the item, a player could suggest a price. If were allowed to suggest these prices over and over, a single player could skew the price of an item or items to fit what they want. With the concept of the Grand Exchanges prices updating twice daily, each player should be able to vote once in each 12-hour period on EVERY item. This would allow the prices to be adjusted, have them reach a point where people will buy or sell them. Along with the items in game, new items will be released, so how will a price be determined, this is another point where we the players, need to suggest prices. ~Staking~ I don't really care for staking, as I dont have much of a talent for it, but if I left it out this topic would be shot down in flames, so I have come up with two suggestions. Now I am not supposed to suggest changing the 3,000gp limit on stakes, but it is far to low, if were to be 100,000gp, many of the players would be satisfied. With this the most a RWT could transfer in an hour is 400,000gp, and with most gold being sold in the millions this still wouldnt present an even remotely good option. As for my second suggestion, when staking items or money, why not impose something similar to the new Trade System, where the stakes have to be balanced. This would allow staking to retake some of its original form and still prevent RWT. For example: I stake a Abyssal Whip worth 1.2 million gp (Currently), my opponent therefore has to stake something similar in price, be it a predetermined value gp difference value (Currently 3,000) or something in the realm of the 5% variation at the Grand Exchange. Allowing players to have balanced stakes of unlimited amounts would return it to the original form and eliminate the RWT aspect. ~Pking & Death~ I found coming up with negative effects of this hard, as I think the way it was changed was both reasonable and enjoyable. But after reviewing the high scores table, I noticed that very few people are actually being "Bounty Hunters" and more so being Rogues as was the tradition in the original wilderness. A simple change to this game would make it so more people follow the original idea of the Mini Game. If there were added benefits to being a Bounty Hunter, like a reward of more than the drops of another player, and not mere 3,000 coins, but something substantial to give a good motive, people would be more likely to follow the game. Another option for this is to use the points earned as a Bounty Hunter to purchase items, in a similar fashion to the Barbarian Assault Mini Game. An additional concept, which may be frowned upon because it does involve returning the wilderness to the way it was could be used. As I understand it, when a player dies, and a gravestone is formed, on the player can retrieve the item, therefore that alone eliminates the RWT aspect and the wilderness could return to how it was. Now if this was to happen I dont think Bounty Hunter, or the new Clan Wars should be removed, as they are valuable additions to the game. On the issue of Player Death, I have tried to find alternatives, because I believe if you die in the game, someone should be able to gain your items, or something worthwhile in waiting for them. I can't come up with a reasonable solution that works for the players, and still eliminates the RWT aspect. So I would greatly appreciate any suggestions for this keeping in mind that you have to consider the ability to RWT. One other thing, if the Wilderness stays as is, the ditch is rather useless now, so it could be removed. ^_^ ~Loot Share~ The concept behind this system is meant with good intentions; but it doesn't meet the needs of the players. This isn't my idea but I thought it was well thought out and would work well. Many people do activities like slaying the Kalphite Queen, King Black Dragon, or the Dagannoth Kings, in the hopes of getting drops like, a Dragon Chain or a Dragon Axe. With drops like these, they do not come very often so to only have one person take the reward isn't fair to the group. Based on the fact that the players work together as a team to receive these items, they want to split the rewards in a fair manor. Therefore, the option presented was being able to sell these items in the Grand Exchange and split the profit between the group members would be beneficial. May it be an extra section in the Grand Exchange called "group sell" were you post the item, and when sold the profit is split accordingly, or a NPC designed specifically to split the money for these people. ~Trading~ I understand the issues with being able to trade any amount, as this was the simplest way to transfer gold and items, but there is many times when legitimate players do far unbalanced trades be it to help their friends or someone new, or simply to just to be nice. With the limit as it is, we cant do that, and that seems this is the major concern with players. If the rate were adjusted and was too high it would just simply take the RWT's a few extra moments to transfer their product. Here in lies what I suggest, a small raise in the limit to 100,000gp per 10 minutes, this would still allows legitimate players to trade, and be able to pay more for a much-needed item, or in turn sell for them less because they don't need it or need money quick. With a limit of 100,000gp every 10 minutes in unbalanced trades, it would take 100 minutes for a transfer 1m gold, thats almost TWO hours. This wouldn't be worthwhile for the RWT as it is a large waste of time. All of these are simply suggestions that I believe both work with what Jagex is trying to do, and still allow the players some freedom and a sense of the "old" game they used to play. Thank you for reading this, and please remember, we all want to make the game better, so suggest what you think may help. Also, if you managed to read the whole thing I really appreciate it, it means you are willing to work to make things better. -Archer ~"All For One, and One For All."
