They aren't really that wierd. Anyway, I heard this little known Aussie band on the radio called 'Hospital the Musical' (wierd name, I know) and the song they played totally hypnotised me. It was so raw and brutal, the vocals were screechy and desperate and the time signatures and riffs awkward. Pretty progressive and odd stuff but it just captivated me. Edit @ Nadril, I'm listening to 'Aarni' right now on myspace. Wow, quite unique and odd, yet captivating. haha, I read the descriptions of the music on myspace, one of them is pretty funny. :lol:

It's actually an argument more about evolution, but I agree argumets about whose religion is the right one are pointless.

Do you understand that you are kind of mocking the whole population of christians across the world? You are using your religion as a pass into any possible afterlife, as a back-up, just in case. You don't actually believe it from what i'm reading here which comes across as incredibly shallow. And as for your rant above on evolution, here are some facts for you: yes, there is proof, and yes it is logical. Please, try to actually do some research before posting false information.

I too have trouble believing why people would let thier religion get in the way of accepting evolution, as I know of at least one person who has no qualms about accepting both. But clearly some people just won't accept it, so try not to force them to argue if they don't want to.

The theoy of evolution merely attempts to explain this; the theory itself dosen't need factal evidence to back it up, rather it's the evidence gathered that strengthens or weakens the theory, and whether you accept it or not, the evidence found in terms of fossils is yet to weaken the theory.

dont worry, you're not. And to counter that, i say the church is still very helpful, but in reality, unecessary. A non-religion based aid foundation could do the work just as fine, and to be honest, i don't believe the sort of statistics the christian ones give out about conversion numbers. Its not a hypothesis, it's not a guess, it's a series of thoughts and locigal analysis of the mechanisms postulated backed up by logical and physical evidence. The vast, vast majority of the entire population of scientists view evolution as locigal, sound and generally undisputed until a better model to explain it arrieses. Evolution does have many proofs in physical and logical terms and no fossil records are yet to present themselves which don't fit the model of evolution or cast doubt on the model of evolution. Seriously mate, I dont think god would be illogical, nor do you have to be. I don't see any believer of faith (and creationism) that accepts evolution as lesser and I would hardly call believing in evolution and creationism herecy.

Not at all. Actually there is, you can only believe one or the other, Since both contradict each other. If you say you believe both you are either a liar or you are confused. Well then don't take one or the other too seriously. I had a catholic biology teacher at my school who was a 'believer' in evolution. He had no troubles with that at all. Yes, my bad. I'm being too specific, I think. I'm too influenced by my environment - the part of Sydney I live in, the academic competition is so fierce. Private schools compete with others in all aspects of education: sport, music, HSC results. In my case, a uni degree is my path to future success - I love commerce, I love economics; only a uni degree will provide me with the credentials to have a future career in these fields (without delving too deep: the UAI req. alone illustrates the high demand for these courses). Yes, it was a bad generalisation on my part, and yes, I still agree with your opinion, lol. Hmm. It's ok, I can relate to your perspective as much emphasis in society today is placed on the notion that qualifications, degrees and pieces of paper equall success. I myself am starting a uni degree this year, bachelor of science. I think we, as a society, need to get out of the mindset that you are only a success if you have a degree. The PM John Howard agrees with this idea, from memory.
