  1. Just don't turn out like the next John Wayne Gacy.
  2. Instead of your hiter-esque approach, why not just build more jails? I don't agree with killing people because they take up too much room. I'm not against capital punishment, however.
  3. I'm starting at QUT (Queensland University of Technology) in a bachelor of science (science course) this year. Should be interesting. I hope to major in biochemistry.
  4. What a useless stance. If you only tolerate the tolerant, then what's the point of toleration? That's like saying "I only tolerate the views I agree with". Religions that don't tolerate the obvious fact that not everyone follows them, in my opinion, come across as propoganda spouting dictatorships.
  5. That sounds like a wager! Haha, your on! Although I think I will make my quoted statement false by doing so. :P
  6. And the only believers I tolerate are those who tolerate others.
  7. Connect the dots. How is the belief that there is one true religion intolerant? It may be exclusive, but it's not intolerant. And if I'm "connecting your dots" correctly, you also mean to say that believing in one true religion makes you ignorant, then what is your basis for that claim? Sorry, I meant to highlight the "I know" part as well. He can think he is a prophet all he likes but he isn't. I've encountered this guy on my evolution topic, and I can assure you he comes across as an ignorant and intolerant person. I'm not against his belief, just how he portrays it as the absolute truth and that everyone else is wrong.
  8. I don't think you should be placing alcohol in the same league as illegal drugs. Granted it can kill you and you can get addicted and ruin your lives over it but I can guarantee the majority of users don't get addicted nor do they die. Alcohol is abused by young people, more specifically those around 14-16. Those who are 17 and 18 (such as myself) have a better capacity to handle thier alcohol responsibly and overall see the advantages to not getting 'wasted' everytime you drink. From memory alcohol dosen't stimulate the reward pathways of your brain in the same way the many drugs do.
  9. Nature may contribute to greenhouse gas emissions the most, but I have one word for you; deforestation. With less trees on the planet now than there were 100 years ago, the balance has shifted and there are less O2 producers and CO2 absorbers, if you know wat I mean. I just thought i'd clear this up assassin. Hydrogen gas could only (on an industrial level) be derived from water. So if you get it from water and it ends up recombining with O2 to form water, there is no net increase. The sky also has a limit to how much water it can hold, if there is too much, it condenses and rains. In other words, it's not only incredibly clean, but the balance is kept intact, unlike the balance I referred to above.
  10. Yea. If it was to be legalized, people would want things like cocaine and heroine to be legalized. That could cause a lot of problems. People would be protesting and rioting everywhere. I don't think that heroin junkies or crackheads have the capacity to riot. :P
  11. Yea they can. They can be addictive, but not as addictive as cigarettes. Some smokers smoke a pack a day, 20 cigarettes. Some people who smoke marijuana only smoke 1 joint a day. So they both are addictive but cigarettes are far more addictive. Totally agree. Anyone who sais it's not addictive dosen't really know what they are talking about. I know someone very close who I believe is addicted, for good reason too. Anyway the only problem I have with marijuana is that on young developing minds such as say 14-15 year olds, this drug can have pretty bad detremental effects. For example, if your family has a history of schitzopherea (no idea how to spell that) and your a young smoker, you have a greater chance of ending up with mental problems (i'm pretty sure, dont quote me on this). But if you start when your about 18, in a general sense, you shouldn't have a problem. It's all up to how it affects young, developing minds. So if it were legalised, strictly 18+ Just for the topics sake, I have smoked before and found it boring. Also don't take my thoughts as fact, I remember vaguely hearing these things somewhere before.

Discrimination is wrong, but in some cases patricular professions are suited to a particular sex/race etc. Likewise, particular places are more suited to a particular sex but I don't see this as discrimination; it's merely a time for mates to get together with thier mates or girls to get together with thier girlfriends.
  13. Can't argue with that. I believe the standard of parenting these days is on the decline. Both parents working more often, more time in front of the idot box and overall less time spent with kids can all contribute to a lack of guidance and heightened rates of delinquancy.
  14. :shame: Banned. Supposed to be Lamb of God \/
  15. If pysical pain is such an effective detterant, why not use it to deter crime? Punish a thief with lashes to make sure he or she doesn't do it again? Perhaps we need to enforce spanking children to prevent crime from happening in the future? :-w :uhh: :P
  16. OH. MY. GOD. I love Rage Against the Machine, they were a REVOLUTIONARY band. Too bad I live in Aus. :wall: Congratz to all who can get tickets because it will be like finding a needle in a haystack. Again.. Wow. I love them.

Haha, we kick @ss! Mitch Johnson bowled awesomely (sorry for the [developmentally delayed]ed adverb haha). Man, the fans should of got thier money back, they payed for a day-nighter, not a day-afternooner  :P .
  19. Seems like you've had some tough time there mate and I can in some ways relate; I've been through some of the unfriendlier facts of life myself. The only difference between me and you it seems is that I didn't go to my friends to speak about my problems. I didn't go to anyone and i'd go so far as to say it's possibly the best thing i've done for myself. Why? it gave me an excellent chance to vent my feelings into something creative, more specifically into writing music. The best advice I could give is find something creative and vent your feelings into it. I don't think it would work for everyone, and I don't reccomend shutting yourself off like a hobbit, but give something creative a go. Anyway hope that helps.
  20. Then it's the average consumer's fault. We have to change our mindset as a race if we want to change the way we are.

Icon of Sin. You are supposed to shoot rockets into the exposed brain by going on that little platform thing. The rockets give splash damage to the head on a steak inside the 'brain.' I remember doing god mode and no clipping on that level and just wasting all those monsters hardcore.
  22. Given my short time on these forums, the OT forum specifically, I couldn't say much about the community, although there are many sensible and friendly people here. It seems that those with a significant amount of posts (say 3000 plus) are all pretty level headed, even if I don't agree with them. Perhaps time makes us learn to cope with each others differences? Anyway there are some people who tend to come into arguments and just ruin it for one whole side with ignorance (this is where I can sympathise with Barihawk in my evolution topic which evidently turned into a religous discussion) and kind of lower the collective IQ of the topic. There's also alot of people who like music similar to me, which is always a way to relate. Touching on the fact that we obviously wont always agree on topics such as religion, something I think we should lean towards doing is providing reasoning for our opinions, not just thowing them around as if we are all right when we obviously all can't be. Anyway, there's my thoughts.

So I need all of them? I've only got 2 of them thus far. Might have to download the others...

Wow, interesting, so how exactly does this thing work? Do I just install it in my doom directory or something?
