  1. just thought i'd give my props to Mike Hussey for playing so well lately.. hes just come to the Aus test team recently (late 2005ish), played about 10 or so test matches with an avereage so far of around 80. seems Mike Hussey really did deserve a spot in the team, just thought id give him a mention. what do u guys rekon.
  2. i envy you. i collect guitars... i have 3   actually, dont really collect, just play.
  3. i see your point clearly, but its considered sport. im no expert or anything.. but fish dont have the greatest memories either do they? although im aware that the fact wouldnt excuse the cruelty. It all comes down to whether you consider it cruel or not.

sorry  but yeah, i suppose when you cant distinguish an object from its original, its no longer that object. Or you could say each atom thats stripped from it makes it a different object.. we constantly think we are the same person, one, always. But in reality, the human body is constantly changing, renewing itself, (****ting out the old, consuming the new  ) In reality, you are made of fractions of all kinds of animals and plants, each of them fractions of others, who were fractions of others, and so on, and so forth. if you believe the science.. we all came from molten rock, gasses and other garbage i.e. random matter on earth before life existed (you get the point, right?). its humbling kind of...
  6. wow  wow. thats a big number.
  7. yeah, Giles was flat as a tack.. and Harmison has been ordinary... the only remotely good english bowlers have been flintoff and Bondie.. whats his name... ... ... ... thinking... ... ... HOGGARD thats 'im. forgive the ramblings  how about Warne's ripper to Pietersen. Pietersen was like :notalk: then warne was like  -bowled- :notalk: then pietersen was like  :wall:

metaphysics neednt be so complicated and mind boggling. we exist, things exist, the computer you are looking at exists. It is, and existance will never not be. If it werent, there wouldnt be anyone to ascertain as to whether or not it does exist. its all a battle with words. Dont let it get to you. Listen to music. Watch the clouds go by, whatever. interesting topic though. but for the sake of the topic, heres a metaphysical question - when does an object cease to exist? When its broken? melted down? cracked? consumed? cut in half? quarters? what do u rekon...
  9. agreed. i dislike people who flat-out think thier beliefs are right. it makes me a tad :-X :-X :-X :boohoo:

1 - whoever the american president is, he/she will have an influence on the world. 2 - the burdens are these - response to hurricane katrina - poor, bad tming response to the frailties in Iraq - poor, bad timing response to global warming - poor, much more needs to be done (USA are the biggest greenhouse gas emitters in the world.) his ability to make his country a better/ more unified place - poor his intelligence - poor i think al gore would have done much better. Just my opinion, i welcome yours.
  11. just today, i wrote down a dream i had last night.. i would type it if it werent for two reasons - 1- a bit too long for now. 2- it is fairly (completely actually) rediculous.
  12. i agree on the topic of horoscopes, i just cant understand why some people devote themselves to them religously. sorry for not contributing to your topic the way you would have liked.
  13. im also a big fan of roy, he hasnt had much of a test career to date, so if he is chosen, i hope he can get a couple 50's (or hopefully even a 100) and perhaps snare a few wickets too. dont worry mate, you victorians have arguably the best test cricketer ever - Warney. Almost 700 test wickets (about 6 shy now?) need i say more? It was his consistantly agressive and unforgiving innings that turned it around for the aussies (although our team performance and attitude throughout the 2nd innings was close to flawless) in Adelaide.
  14. GREAT TOPIC!!!! i am a proud aussie cricket fan, from brisbane. unfortuanately, i couldnt go to the first test, as i was down the coast for schoolies week \ nevertheless, i watched the test religously and was very impressed with australias performance, particularly Ricky Pontings 196 and Glenn McGrath's '5 for.' Notable performances from Stuart Clark, with handy wickets, and Justin langer and Mike Hussey with thier contributions wit the bat. The second test, quite simply, was the best cricket test match i have ever seen in my life. Notable perfromances in the first innings from Paul Collingwood with his double century (yes, i am aware i am congradulating a pom, wierd huh?) and our boys Ricky Ponting and Michael Clarke fr thier centuries. As im sure we were all thinking the test match was headed for a draw, the second innings changed the face of the match, all in the fifth and final day of play. Notable performances from the whole australian team on the field for thier dominance and pressure, particularly Shane Warne with 4 valuable wickets throughout his huge, unforgiving bowling spell. Then, with the change of the ball to the bat, the Aussies came into thier own, showing off thier one-day skills, hunting down the total with a few balls to spare. An incredible win, the best i have seen, well done boys!! =D> =D> And my predictions for the remainder of the series? Hopefully a clean sweep, i think its hard to argue though, the Aussies will win the Ashes back !!!!!! p.s. best of luck Damien Martyn with your retirement. =D>
  15. this is kinda like the above suggestion and that men in black thing, but what if our universe was an atom in someone elses universe, in a molecule in someone elses universe, in a cell in someone elses universe, in a person in someone elses universe, who's universe is an atom in someone elses universe..... and so on and so forth for eternity?
  16. o oracle of infinate wisdom.. =P~ :?:
  17. lol, good episode, saw it the other day from memory
  18. just say there is an edge.. if whats beyond that is empty space... its volume and still part of the universe. if whats beyond that is nothing but a solid 'wall,' its matter and still part of the universe. one things for sure.. if there were and edge, and the universe, from that point foreward, no longer existed, the edge would be something we dont yet scientifically understand.
  19. the question is this: is there and 'end' or 'edge' to the universe? or does it keep going forever? im not too sure myself, but i believe in the expanding universe theory - friedmann (expanding) universe what i imagine is that matter (stars, galaxies, etc) is expanding, in line with this theory, but the space they are expanding into is infinite. tell us what you think and your ideas.
  20. leet-speek story!! its simple, everyone post FIVE (5) words at a time, in leet speak (or rediculously mis-spelt words), to make a story. Ill start 'er off.. thair 1ce woz ay gui... BE SURE YOU COPY THE WHOLE STORY AND THEN ADD YOUR 5 WORDS
