this aregument on truth and frames of reference/ whatever reminds me of lyrics from the song parabola by tool - overthinking, overanalyzing separates the body from the mind.. very off-topic i know, but o well. :boohoo:
  2. thought id ad some more thoughts.. i agree with te notion that time can be dilated or distorted with relation to eienstiens theory of relativity etc, but the notion of a 'time machine' or 'time travel' scenario, as seen in movies like the terminator, is impossible, there are just too many paradoxes to suggest it is completely illogical, i.e. going back in time before you were born etc. another revelation - in a couple billion years, when the sun dies (this is inevitable), how will we judge time?, as time is judged by the earth's revolution along its own axis and around the sun i.e. 365 days = 1 revolution around the sun, 24 hours = 1 day = 1 earth revolution around its axis and so on and so forth until you divide seconds in a decimal fasion.

i believe you are correct, and the idea of the coup (with a silent p) isnt to make a dictatorship.
  4. - if theres a bustle in your hedgerow, dont be alarmed now. is it supposed to mean something forewards? or backwards. ive heard it all backwards and get that, but forewards, dont hear a thing, enlighten me please.
  5. edit: its ok, i found it, very cool song
  6. me too mate, good to see people setting goals for themselves good luck :P oh, and id like to overcome physics and turn into pure energy... or maybee thats more of a 10-year goal?
  7. none, because either way your going to get fat and end up out of a job, unhappy, unloved, alone and desparate. life is unfair      Thats my impersination of an emo, but more on topic, i like pancakes
  8. i saw them play laid to rest live in concert. it was [bleep]ing awesome \
  9. sorry if it came across that way, im not against religion. you dont know that for sure. Just because something exists, dosent mean it was created by a creator. take evolution for example (opens a can of worms), which happened independantly over billions of years. no creation, just change. so you see, the universe could have existed forever, up to this point, uncreated, just evolving. Just an idea...
  10. aha!, the collapse of the creationism theory, right there  but more on topic, -- yes --
  11. i heard it has 'laid to rest' by lamb of god!! is this true?
  12. understood, but this isnt a game of lnguistics, this is a dscussion as to weather or not time travel is possible.

you didnt even answer the question... and if you assert that its truth, it needs to be true edit: i didnt mix the words, i was suggesting that someone who isnt indoctrinated into a religion from birth can look more subjectively at the subject i.e. without bias.
  14. excuse my ignorance, but can you please upload the foreward version? it sounds cool backwards, but im sure i wourld recognise it if i heard it forewards. want to hear something freaky? listen to 'faaip de oiad' by the band tool. the first time i heard this, i was alone, at my computer, at 12 at night. translated, 'faaip de oiad' means 'the voice of god' possibly a reference to the fear you would feel if you actually heard the voice of god. edit: heres the link faaip do oiad
  15. heres a question, what do you suppose your watch would do if you 'travel through time'? - it stays the same. heres a simple example. i live in the state of queensland in australia, we have 'daylight savings' which, incase you dont know, is where we set our clocks back an hour, for some stupid reason (dont worry, it dosent actually prevent the sun from setting for an hour  ). recently, i went on a holiday over the border, into the state of new south wales, where they dont have daylight savings. did my watch change time? no, but hey, arent i going foreward in time?, arent i participating in time travel?, well not really. time is subjective, i decided to keep my watch set in queensland time.
  16. no. to me, time is linnear. i base this one one fact: biology dosent travel through time. your born, you live, and you die. Viktorkrum77 wrote: Quick answer- time travel isn't possible. The future is the unknown, since it's yet to happen. And the past has already happened, it's gone. We live in a present world. Quick response - Vickie stuns TIF with another ignorant post! why is this ignorant?, its true. you can only ever exist in the present.
  17. lol, phr33 st00f pl0x?? haha, its so stuid, but so funny

i want to know how you can assert this as truth, if you were indoctrinated from birth, then your looking at it objectively, not subjectively
  19. id get one, but not too big, and it would have to be meaningful
  20. sorry to be harsh, i wouldnt want to be in your position and i hope it works out and all, but has your friend ever watched the news? there are alot of people out there going through harsher [cabbage] than your friend.
  21. if all religions are cults, then whats a religion? christianity, buddhism, islam, hinduism, judaism = religions, like it or not.

i agree. i think there is no such thing as a 'good' poker player, as the hand your delt is all down to luck, you can be a smart player, however.

sorry to keep rambling on, but did you read this part? its explains clearly how the theory of dark matter came to be through the observational evidence and calculations of this swiss guy -
  24. warri0r45 replied to ice_ring's topic in Off-Topic
