So.. my iPod earbuds are in horrible condition (the outsides are broken, and of yesterday the right one rattles), so I need new ones. I don't know what to buy, so I figured I'd ask around here. I want earbuds, not headphones. And it is important that they're under $40. I know a ton that are like $60+, and that is too much.

Anti drug programs - Complete waste of money?

Man, I seriously feel bad for your friends. I guess this shows what happens when you're not conscious of what you're doing. I know at least 20 people who have been smoking weed for 4+ years and haven't moved to anything harder. But like I said, my town is a lot different. And I do believe you can be "addicted" to being high. But it is the same type of addiction you get from playing video games (take WoW as an example). People go from playing an hour every other day, to an hour a day, to 2 hours a day, and next thing you know it's all the person does or thinks about. Then when you get bored of the first game, you move on to the next. (Only in this case, the next game isn't any more addicting than the first.) And you can play games in the same "responsible" fashion, where you play an hour max per day, or 2 hours every other day. And be sure to be social in real life (and TeamSpeak doesn't count as social!). -
I love the concept of the game, but I hate the childish looking background in all the creature creator pics..

[hide=] lol I fail to see what is funny about that. Are you inferring that Christian Metalcore is just as popular as Alternative Rock? alternative rock is such a broad term. be more specific. but, christian metalcore is pretty damn popular. :? I personally don't know of any other christian metalcore bands... http://www.last.fm/tag/christian%20metalcore Tons, and most wildly popular. Wow.. I know all of those bands, and I didn't even know any of them were christian. You have to admit Underøath is very unique sounding. Underoath, Demon Hunter, and Haste the Day were the only ones that didn't sound the same to me. Not a fan of metalcore.[/hide] Oh.. lol. Ok then... (quote chain got too big!) -
sorry for not contributing anything useful, but I was seriously gasping for air laughing when I saw that drawing! The bridge just looked to nice and orderly.. and then the picture... well you get the idea. And I think how you insulted your drawing is what did it. Sorry, but I was seriously in stitches.

How about this... You buy a GameKey with the game when you download it, and you can't install the game without the GameKey. You can then burn the game onto a "CGD" or "Compact Game Disk" and back it up, or take it to a friend's house. Or even better, you could copy the game onto a flash drive (it would have to be like an 8 gig flash drive) and take that to a friend's house. Now here is the tricky part. Your friend can use the same GameKey to play the game, but he can't install the game as long as you have it installed on your HD. And only one copy of the game could be open at a time. Meaning your friend can't be playing the copy of the game with your key, while you're playing at home with the same key. This would create a foolproof way of making sure games aren't copied illegally. In fact, it is even safer than the current system, because people can't just make a hard copy of the game, and play it on another console. -
LOL. What a noob. Now his respawn time is gunna be like 15 secs. LAWL.

I didn't pay attention to honor while I was leveling so don't know the answer to this, but level 80 pvp gear is going to cost much more honor than leve 70, right? So if I'm going to be playing on my hunter at level 70 till the expansion comes out, is it a better idea to save up my honor till 80? Or will the honor not be nearly enough to buy pvp gear at 80 and I should trick myself out at level 70 so that 70-80 will be easier?

About the prisons creating jobs... The money spent on prisons, along with the money the government would would receive from marijuana taxes would dwarf the jobs created by prison staff/clothing manufacturers/food supplies etc. And deloriagod, the thing you said about large companies and small corner stores was basically what I was saying about people boycotting the big companies. Edit: Here is evidence of how the government lied to people in order for them to vote on state laws banning marijuana -
You did a wonderful job uploading that picture, my friend. My picture worked fine... And look.. no edit!

I might add this this isn't second hand stuff anymore. I've smoked on multiple occasions and have not felt drawn back to it at all. And as for the gateway thing, I think it differs depending on where you live. In my town, over half the people smoke weed, and swear they would never try anything else. And it's not the kind of thing where people say they won't, and then do... You would have to live where I do to understand. The only people who don't smoke weed are the nerds and the dorks. Everybody else has tried it at least once, and most smoke maybe once a month. You would probably love it here. The only thing I can think of to make people understand is Jamaica. People are like the potheads in Jamaica. They will only smoke weed no matter what. It's really hard to explain, so I'll just stop. Anyone who believes smoking marijuana makes you stupid is just plain stupid to begin with. We like to call that memory loss "second day stupids" because it hits you the hardest on the day after you smoked. And I'm glad you didn't develop cancer but there is always a chance. Don't forget that. Now I'm going to read through the topic and see what I can't find in here :D I know weed contains more carcinogens, but that doesn't mean it is more likely go give you cancer. (Well it does, but marijuana isn't more likely to give you cancer than cigarettes) Infact, the only tests that have shown marijuana causes cancer were tests on animals in which the animals were exposed to very concentrated marijuana smoke every day nearly all day. There were several other conditions that made the test results unreliable... I don't remember all the details right now.. but my point is the chance is very very very low. Next to nothing. Although it's still possible. And I haven't really thought about what they could test for, but they could do background checks, see what the person's past record is.. that kind of stuff. Maybe take a basic IQ test? Idk.. I'll think about it tonight and tomorrow and post any ideas I have, lol. -

Taking a pill to wipe your system of THC is different than passing a test to determine if you can be responsible smoking weed. -
DUDE YOU'RE SERIOUSLY PISSING ME OFF. WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO SAY??

They have the everywhere. And I'd describe it as more of a clicking-buzzing-chirping noise than just a buzzing noise. They're literally everywhere when I go to the desert here in Cali.

Let's assume for a moment that the US did legalize marijuana. What I imagine would happen is a few (maybe 10) or the big cigarette companies would put nicotine in their joints. Other companies would sell pure joints with nothing but pure cannabis. All the stoners would learn this, and only buy the ones without nicotine. It may become like the cigarette industry, but without the addictive effect of cigarettes or the horrible consequences. -

GOOD GOD NO! It would have to be illegal to fill joints with anything other than cannabis. Otherwise it would be like cigarettes, only people would actually have a reason to smoke them! And growing your own cannabis could also help make sure they don't become like cigarettes. I wouldn't be surprised if that was the result after marijuana being legalized. No, it wouldn't.. it couldn't.. I'm sure they would be boycotted and nobody would smoke them. -
Not to be intrusive, but what disease? I dislike running, but I do enjoy going on long hikes. Actually, I was just looking it up, and I think it might be this: http://www.mda.org/disease/mpd.html Maybe I just self diagnosed myself  Hmm, interesting. I remember I had a disease of the knee (some german name I can't remember) when I was ~13 that caused pain whenever I put weight on it. Apparently, it was fairly common around that age, but I hardly remember anything around that time, so it wasn't that bad. Don't forget to talk to your doctor. ;) Yeah, about that.. lol. I first discovered this by accident. I went in to the doctor for a annual checkup (this was almost 2 years ago) and happened to mention to my doctor that the muscle pain every time I did any physical activity. I just happened I was going in for blood tests that day for I forget what reason. They got the results back, and found I had very very elevated levels of CPK (phosphocreatine kinase). Very elevated meaning a healthy adult has anywhere from 22-198 U/L (units per liter). I had roughly 5300 U/L. In other words 53x higher than normal. I had more blood tests done to be sure it wasn't just a fluke. And it wasn't. I saw a specialist, and he listed a few diseases it could be (none the right one). They decided to have a liver biopsy done to see if it was a liver disorder. So I had to go down to UCLA and they cut into my side, and took a chunk of liver out. My liver results came back normal, and both my doctor and specialist was puzzled. They finally decided to have me take a muscle biopsy to see if it was something directly muscle related. So they cut into my leg (I was conscious for this, and got to see the inside of my leg (the back of my calf. I still have the scar.). Anyway, they got the results back, and found that my muscles weren't metabolizing proteins correctly. The doctor diagnosed it as a new type of muscular dystrophy (they're finding new types all the time). But I think it might be the disease I linked, because nearly every type of muscular dystrophy has muscle weakness/deterioration as one of they symptoms; neither of which I have. Anyway, thats my story. At least I have a doctor's note now so that I don't fail PE because I can't run.

Well in that case, alcohol is a food item commonly consumed with minimal effect. More importantly, a food item engrained into society as such. A lot of people drink just for taste, which is not something you could say for marijuana. In other words, alcohol has the interesting situation of being a food and drug while marijuana is a drug. Oh good. This relates back to the anti-drug programs. If these programs are teaching that "alcohol = bad" no matter what, then alcohol is not viewed by younger people as a "food" but just as a "drug". The schools are just screwing themselves over. -

I've known quite a few guys who have gotten marijuana laced with cocaine, LSD, PCP, you name it. All because no one regulates. Another reason to legalize. Once I got weed laced with PCP.... but the thing is, it was actually amazing. I guess I'm really lucky I didn't end up thinking I was a chicken or a goat or something. Most of the people were fine, but the guy who got the marijuana laced with LSD died. I forget exactly how, but I think it was suicide "technically". Probably not suicide under the influence of what he didn't realize was LSD. I know for a fact that that is complete and utter BS. LSD will be destroyed by the time you get the marijuana to burn. So it can't be cooked either. So unless you're telling me that the guy slow cooked brownies with LSD laced weed, then you're lying. Quit spreading false info. I'm sure the LSD wouldn't be destroyed by the time the brownies were finished. Brownies don't get that hot when you cook them. Unless you're already high and you put the oven at max temp to cook the brownies faster. LSD is destroyed at like 80 C..... LSD is safer than alcohol. I better read up on LSD! (not that I'm going to use it. because I'm not. I just want to be well informed) So yeah, if you put your oven at under 175°, you should be fine. It's possible he just ate the week though. Didn't put it in anything first. (not too bright though.) -
It seems like people are getting seriously bored with warcraft while they wait for the expansion. I would probably be, but I'm just over 30 bars from 70. I WANT THE SKY TO FEEL MY WRATH.

If you're going to be anti-weed for safety reasons then its only rational to be anti-alcohol too, when you consider that alcohol is much more dangerous. That is, if you're being rational. I think his point was that you were putting alcohol in the same category as LSD and cocaine... and it doesn't belong under the same category. Edit: 4 pages in 2 and a half ours? I hope they hot topic this!
