  1. Many solo'ers do just that. Gear = armor and weapons, right? I doubt anyone is going to kick say, a Bulwark Beast to death... Actually I had a 5 man team do that three days ago. Of course, we had to remove its armor first, but after that we literally kicked it to death. We figured we didn't need weapons since we were all 125+.
  2. It's kind of funny that Daemonheim is sort of a more "perfect" Runescape. Has anyone else noticed that players use a variety of weapons and a variety of combat styles while down in the dungeons? It's because Jagex spent the time to perfectly balance each the weapons, so their counterpart would be as good or just as good. Some players prefer the maul for that massive crush, while some prefer a faster longsword that can dish out some decent slash damage, and then there is the spear (my personal favorite)- which can adapt to multiple combat styles. It's very strange to not see 95% of players wielding scimitars. Also the combat triangle is very balanced, much more balanced than it is on the surface. A team NEEDS mages and rangers, if they plan on surviving some of those hard bosses. Sometimes, I feel a bit scared going back to the... above-surface Runescape. :ohnoes:
  3. Lol I just discovered the unlimited money trick. Me and my friends made 3m coins in one game... it was very fun. We were all decked out in full kata with promethian spears with full inventories of cave morays.
  4. Ha, I bet they have an age limit because they don't want all the spammy, immature 12 year old RSOF ranters to come.
  5. I just went with a 3 man team on floors 8 through 15, and holy GOD they were the best team I've ever had. They were all high level and knew how to beat every puzzle and every boss. Not only that, they didn't do stupid things like take 20 minutes to make the best armor when we were up against a level 127 boss that could be killed without eating a single piece of food (infact this happened on floor 10). The majority of the teams I join are full of players who either screw up horribly on the puzzles, damaging everyone, or are horrible at the bosses. I gotta say too- the spear OWNS.
  6. Could we perhaps split this topic in two? Split the arguing chunk and move it to the debate club or suggestions forum. This thread should be discussion of tactics regarding Dungeoneering, not what is wrong with the skill. I came to this topic expecting people to share their strategies, but all I see are flame wars. I don't like digging through all these wordy, senseless posts in an attempt to find some legitimate advise on the skill.
  7. The tip.it community used to be so much nicer. I swear you guys can't debate over an issue for one page without it turning into a butt load of personal attacks and flames.
  8. So what if it feels like a minigame? There's nothing wrong with that. So far I have seen no major 'confusion' regarding this skill except how prestige works, and that has nothing to do with the minigame issue anyway. Dungeoneering is pretty self explanitory. When I started the skill, I didn't even look at the Knowledge base. It only took me a few minutes to figure out the basics of the skill- form a party, join a dungeon, raid the dungeon, kill the boss. The rest is just a matter of learning strategies for defeating certain bosses and memorizing the metal, cloth, and hide types, and so on. So what if the skill is packaged like a minigame? So long as the gameplay is easy to learn, I see no problem.
  9. Oh really? Didn't know that. :o Guess I shall demolish him with my PICKAXE POWER!!! :P (If I reach the requirement that is.) Maul...?
  10. I read the whole thing because stories like that interest me. It was... brutally honest and somewhat depressing. I'll keep my opinions to myself on the matter, since I don't want to start anything, but good luck with your life.
  11. When I first tried this skill out I was hesitant. I barely thought one could call it a skill at all, with the fact that dungeoneering is absolutely useless outside its own little area, which is totally unlike how any other skill works. But now.... I think it is the best skill in the game. Reasons why: Addictive gameplay - There's always that satisfying feeling after killing a level 96 warrior when it drops a argonite platebody or when you get a gorgonite maul from a boss. Collecting items and binding them keeps you going with the game- always seeking better items so you can kill things faster and get faster experience. Exciting gameplay - The dungeons are never boring due to the fact that every dungeon is randomly generated each time you play. You never know what will be on the other side of a door, and you never know what boss you're up against til near the end. Rewards - The rewards are simply amazing. Of course they take quite a few tokens to buy- but I think this is a good thing because it encourages people to train the skill more. The bosses - Honestly these are some of the funnest bosses I've ever fought in runescape. The fact that you have to adapt to each one and use different tactics to defeat them is great. I also like that they aren't pushovers- oftentimes I find myself with 2 or 3 items of food left in my inventory after a grueling boss fight. The revivial of lost items/classes - I LOVE the fact that meleers, rangers, and mages are all equally powerful in the dungeons. Its great to know that rushing in with five melee tanks against a lvl 500 mage boss simply doesn't work (like it would work aboveground). Because certain bosses have certain weaknesses, all three classes of the combat triangle are needed. Also- I'm so glad the runes aren't expensive- it means maging doesn't cost an arm and a leg like it does on the surface.
  12. If they just removed OMA and commando the game would be 50% better.
  13. I don't think they have HBS now. If they do, it must be fairly recent. I remember they had it in the book Rainbow Six by Tom Clancy so I'm guessing it exists somewhere... And yeah googling it seems to come up with some results saying it's real. So yeah we have them, probably just for groups like SEALs and rangers, not for everybody though I don't think they're really using them yet. Keep in mind the game takes place in 2016. And was made by money hungry people known as IW! Yes.... yes it was.
  14. God I hope Treyarch learns from all this crap in MW2 and makes one hell of a good cod7. In other words, remove commando and OMA from the next call of duty. HBS removal would be nice too (not sure if they had HBS in vietnam, anyway). But more importantly I hope Treyarch provides more community support. The support from IW was basically nill; that was probably one of the reasons the game was crap and still is crap. IW is just lucky the gameplay is addictive or I would go right back to cod5 with mah MP40.
  15. You know what really pisses me off... I brush twice a day, sometimes even three times a day, and I still have yellower teeth than normal. I go to my school and see all these kids with perfectly white teeth, and they brush sometimes once a week. I just don't get it.
  16. Just so you know that's like 110 ground war matches non-stop running. Good luck. It nearly drove me insane.
  17. Someone legitimately uses OMA not just for toobing? I've... never heard of this.
  18. Represent tip.it. Nice job man. I know that every skill that's come out since construction we've had at least one tip.iter in the top 22 on the first few days of release. So...keep it up I guess!
  19. HOLY GOD LIGHTWEIGHT PRO 6 IS ANNOYING.
  20. Dungeoneering? What a stupid name for skill. Jagex would never do that!
  21. Ffs lol no one can do the ones where you have to click the numbers in order... Our stupid green teammate had the number 2 and he WOULDN'T CLICK IT. Basically we only lasted like 2 minutes.
  22. Seems weird that Jagex is encouraging skilling which is usually linked to no-lifing. What with the bonus exp weekend, and now this (if it is true), it seems Jagex seems to finally be siding with the grinders. Before MMG they discouraged it.
  23. The cospiracy theorists or those who are saying this is all part of some larger business scheme on this thread are basing their conclusions off no evidence. You conspiracy theorists say that the Tip.it admins are making underground deals with Jagex- like Tip.it is some puppet of Jagex. Why should we believe that when for nine years the administrators have loyally watched over tip.it and enacted polices that benefit the community? I've never seen any hint of Tip.it attempting to sell itself out in these nine years. The admins would never do such a thing; they realize that tip.it values its independence too much. And for those who say Jagex is pulling some business scheme, why should we believe you? MMG has changed Jagex to a community-friendly company. Anyone who's familiar with Jagex knows they are not your usual company; Jagex has been trying to tell its players for years that they are not all about profit. I can't even list all the things they've recently done: J mod chats, J mod interviews, the Jagex Cup, Clan Submission Pages, Community Blogs, overhaul of P mod policy, J mod events, etc. They've been pratically screaming at their player base that they want to support us. Why would they suddenly change their policy and pull a dirty trick as you all are suggesting?
  24. I have a feeling that if Jagex thought they could get away with banning fansites from even discussing other games, they'd do that too. It's just a feeling and there's no evidence to back it up. I have a feeling, according to Jagex's friendly attitude, and the fact that they are not in it for just profit, that they wouldn't do that. Even if they did try to pull that stunt the fansites could easily back out and engage in a boycott of the fansite list. Discussing other games isn't a problem because most of the people there already own the game they are discussing; therefore its too late for jagex to stop them from purchasing the game. Of course there are those people who visit the Video Game Discussion subforum seeking out a new game to play, and this could hurt Jagex's revenue- but that only accounts for a small amount of the total population. To restrict users from talking about a topic within the Tip.it Rules is a breech of freedom of speech. If Jagex ever implemented such a rule, Tip.it would back out, as the admins had promised they would do.
