Um - is RWT not reportable any more?
1) Obviously RWT is bad but the consumer isn't the evil one i dont think. if RWT didnt create bots then id literally have no problem with it, i mean who cares? if bots didnt exist RWT would be absolutely fine. i mean we know it does create bots but this player was obviously very young. as are most of the players who play runescape, come on guys its a kids game. all games are kids games. adults are not meant to have the time for extreme gaming like kids do, almost every game is marketed at kids (11-19ish). please dont expect people in runescape to act like 30 year olds, that would be too weerd if everyone playing runescape was 30. hell i personally have a problem with parents playing runescape. anyway point being, she was obviously young and doesnt know about the rule, i mean its not excactly obvious unless you play a lot and come on forums like this. its easy for us forum users to forget that some of the stuff we all think is obvious, in actual fact, is not. so she was young, i have to assume didnt know it was against the rules as she was talking openly and unprovoked, she got scammed for real money which might well have been her pocket money.. and THEN some jumped up wanna be mod over zealous character reports her.. hmm.. what a great day for her. 2) i think it was unprovoked. 3) yeah in a case like this, in face i thinkn in most cases. 'rules are made to be broken'. IRL i break laws everyday, constantly lol. i want to be able to talk about breaking laws without fear of someone telling on me. thats like living in nazi germany, with the kids telling on their own parents! (lol well not quite but you know..) i really don't like how you conclude that this is a juvenile rebellion thought process.. i dont know if i can say this, if i cant please delete. but many of my old accounts i shared with my brother, i saw, still very much see, nothing wrong with it. it wasnt trying to be cool or rebel it was just a nice bonding experience, half the grinding for the same levels. the one thing was having friends i thought might report me. that was alright, i just only had 2 friends i trusted. i also bought some gold from a player who hadnt farmed it (how do i know? he was a famous pker) at the time i wasnt aware it was against the rules, i saw on a forum that actually let u discuss these kinds of things (mayhem makers) he was selling, id always found it hard to make cash so i bought some. i dont see that as that bad. that account got banned for autotyping in w2 (come on i dont want arthritis). i see no problem with any of these things and id like to think i could talk to people on rs about them. if thats not allowed can you just delete that paragraph? anyway end of the day, reporting one unlucky girl solves absolutely nothing. if she gets banned it does nothing, all it does is ruin the time someone put into the account. i see at as a malicious thing to do. especially if she was young n the OP is like 30 something.. already said it but.. i would rather an unstable economy than to not say what i want, this isn't just about this one rule, offensive language is another good example. wanna be mods look for trouble, ruin the atmosphere, cause people to not be able to say wat they want in public places for fear of being reported and just generally [cabbage] on everything. i would rather everyone was a bot than to have wanna be mods all over the place. another post is someone being muted for saying, give me your password ill scam you. its the same kind of argument i think. anyway i hate you wanna be mods. no report abuse button would be ridiculous, but save it for the gold farmers, bots and hackers. personally i dont think scamming is bad. eermm i think reporting people all the time is showing no respect for others. i see no reason why saying u rwt is not showing respect for others. quite the opposite it shows u wanna talk and communicate. runescape without player mods was fine. ive never seen anyone get told off by a player mod, personally, and ive played 100 days on my account. it also cant be that protective because u report someone for somethign that has already occurred. it may hinder them. but i doubt this girl considered buying gold again. also i disagree on p mods having respect for others. i was friends with 3 orginal p mods, they were arogant as! in fact i personally know one of them botted high level fishing. i think make mods for banning bots. you ban the bots, you stop the gold farming, you stop the problem cause by rwt and it doesnt matter if it happens. also come oonn dude, talking about peedos now eh? thats just unbeleivably stupid. if u think a player reporting someone would stop the possibility of a peedo. its such a small minority but put urself in the mindset, they groom people by getting to know. in runescapes case beiung friends witht them. it is downright stupid to think no report button would create more incidents like this(to which i was unaware). GOD i hate peedos! but yeah, facebook, msn etc are much better ways for peedos - once again solve the problem, round them up :) (id like to see life prison for all pedophiles) point is you rip the head of a flower it survives, u kill the root the flower never grows. in this case the OP is trying to kill a flower for no reason, it will not do anything, only add insult to injury. i wouldve thought you 'mature' players would see that. (oh except your not mature because you spend hours on a kids game) <3:

Big Brother Is Watching
not read anything other than the original comment, i agree completely! to be fair it was quite long ago my experience, just before GE. someone was selling willows for 10gp per, so i put up 100k and he put up 1k. i said no its 10k, and he said no 10gp per - 1k. in then said, u cant do math? damn how old are you? i got muted for a month because i was requesting personal imformation, my appeal was also denied. you would have thought theyd at least look at the complaint in a little bit of context. it was obviously a rhetorical question. i want to know their method for dealing with complaints, it must be via computer. but are their appeals also dealt by with computer, from my experience ive never had an appeal work. except when i excessively appealed and tried to get in contact with them.

If you could vote again, what would you vote?
id stopped playing until it came back out, its fun again now. it would be good if they did something about bots, but they way it was before was just silly. plus now all the funny parts are back, people getting cleaned, luring and scamming. i love it lol and u get cool player created parts like the flower game. junk trading was just [cabbage] aswell lol

Um - is RWT not reportable any more?
That's exactly my point. Any decent person would stop the conversion there, tell them that their views on the subject are different(that you respect rs rules) and move on, but oh no, you go behind others backs to report people to make yourself feel warm and fuzzy inside. It's pathetic. Actually, i somewhat blame the player moderator system for this, as it encourages people to look for trouble where there isn't, and more often than not, innocent people get hurt because of that. And for what? I haven't seen the silver crown assosiation be any less stupid/nooby/greedy or selfish as the rest of us. Hell, even the report system on these forums is bogus in that those who don't report others are at a disadvantage, and when the insults carry to other threads, there is a likely ban waiting for you(or a warning, if you are lucky). +1 ! Ive come across player moderators slagging of people, calling them noobsd or whatever.. and what do they actually stop? and yeah i used to talk all the time in rs cos its best way to pass the time i find, but i was 1 black mark away from being perma banned just cos i was honest. screw players who report others for stupid reasons, especially a girl that just lost 30m/30$ which is quite a lot of money to some people. ive had black marks for asking wat country people are from! screw over sensitive reporting. OP should stop reporting people for silly things. maybe they should make player mods focus exclusively on bots.. i dunno thats the real problem, not someone sharing accs, buying some money from an rl friend or using offensive language (especailly not anymroe yay!) oh wait but i remember the ops topic about the chat filtration update aswell  player mods are definately pointless/ obsolute. edit: like what you said about daddy's credit card. what a load of bull. most people are opposed to rwt, almost everyone bots. OBVIOUSLY, what people have a problem wiith is people like you looking and going out of your way to report someone. getting her account banned wouldn't have solved anything, so why bother, why ruin her day? she already lost 30$. No no no, RWT is bad, but your worse, at least RWTers dont report everyone for no reason, at the end of the day id rather an unstable economy than for every player to be wanna be mods. id prefer every player to be bots than that. paah

Elaborate scams and how to exploit them
everyone says this but its so not true, u just have to click twice without thinking properlly. ive played 7 years and been scammed in trade once, this was bnefore all the anti scam updates but i wsa selling a mage book, someone showed me 5k mage logs, discarded screen asked if it was alright and then traded again, i accepted quickly then realised it was maples :(. But yeah i SO nearly got scammed for 200m the other day by the whole free rune scims thing, im definately not stupid just sometimes u forget to be cautious. Anyway i think this thread is absolutely pointless, theres constant threads of this kinda nature, lures and scams. just stfu already please.

Luring
Maybe someone can tell me whether this was a lure. This level 130+ asked me to be in his "vid." He insisted that I wear h'ween mask and good armour "so that the vid would look good." He asked me to tele to trollheim, which I did (with an inventory full of food and a 1-click, just in case). His buddy was there and they were saying for me to "follow" them to the spot where we would shoot the vid. I teled instead, but I'm not sure what they could have done to me up there. Any ideas? yeah they would take u to the bit with the trolls that range cain u out if u dont have prayer on, i remmebre when it first came out i trained melee there and soooo many people died because they panicked. oh ffs guys stop moaning about luring its just a bit of fun, dont take runescape so seriously. its weerd. also like to add ive onyl ever had one friend i would even consider at all an actual friend and he was a pro lurer. i always found lurers to be much mroe fun than most other players. did anyone ever go on mayhem makers forums? everyone there scammed/lured/hacked but it was jokes man. actuallly got hacked by one of the membs for 40m, which 4 years ago was quite a lot. i didnt cry and report him, i just was a bit annnoyed.

Luring
i like scamming and luring. ive lured and scammed, also been lured and scammed. its an extra part of the game. almost got scammed really stupidly for 300m the other day by the freerune scims show me your inv thing! lol i just found it funny. wouldnt have if i lost but who cares. its just a game. stop moaning start enjoying, its really fun luring people, u get to know the p[eople you lure with aswell. succesful luring is a skill in itself, being creative etc. finding bugs w/e. i hate the wilderness ditch and i hate the fact you cant scam so easily with trades anymore. once i had a pure that i actually didnt drop trade to! i spent time getting 80 mage in the mage training arena and bought a book and some infin. i then got scammed and only got 100k for them. it was annoying, but it was funny. not the end of the world even though it was kinda all my work gone. basically i think jagex should take a strance on luring, hopefully saying its fine. samee with scamming. VIVA RUNESCAPE FREEDOM lol seriously give it a try guys..

200M in all Skills
https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=tZZWN3AC2Np-db1AOtRts4A&hl=en&authkey=CNXu4ucL#gid=0 Erm what does this spreadhseet mean? That it would take at least 1-2 years until players max out all skills if they continue to play as much as they do now. ooo, thats pretty crazy. Do you think it accounts for the different EXP rates? Im guessing so since SUOMI only has 1 year left.. Crrraazzzy I never thought Id see the day, but it looks pretty likely now!

Why do you think Jagex made 99s Require so Much EXP?
yes, i do. obviously not all at once - i break it up and do it in small chunks. i don't know why someone would play runescape if they don't enjoy it, you tell me? personally, i play for fun. ??? from what i can tell, the two sides of the argument are this: "maxing a skill takes an acceptable amount of time" - supported by people who enjoy playing runescape "getting maxed should be easier" - supported by people who don't enjoy playing runescape why are you playing runescape if you don't enjoy it? ??? !!! I dont have fun when I grind a skill, I have fun wondering around doing random things as i please, like making 46 battelstaffs or whatever a day, i find that fun. but once I did 200 battlestaffs and even then i didnt really find it fun.. Mainly I get fun from PKing, sometimes monster killing, bosshunting, or jus randomly making small ammounts of obscure items lol! I think what Illy is saying is that people who grind for hours and call it fun are lying, Id agree, maybe you're a small exception but I find it very hard to believe you find fun in runecrafting for hours upon hours on end. And +1 Fools Taco See you have to complete opposite opinion to how i play runescape. I never buckle down because I find it incredibly boring lol. I dont have very much money on my acc because iv trained my mage from like 70 - 98 by soul wars barraging, because i find it fun! ive alched and stunned for like 500k exp and it was so incredibly dull.. Oh n do you mean maxing out all skills or combat?

Why do you think Jagex made 99s Require so Much EXP?
no im talking about real life, the real life impication of fishing for 60 hours is lazy. id say. i dunno, fair enough its how some people relax. but yeah, i think im less lazy for wishing the caps were lower since id play less time playing runescape for want i wanted to achieve in it, hence more time doing things in real life. tbf most peopled probs jus watch tv with those hours..
-
Why do you think Jagex made 99s Require so Much EXP?
not true, not sitting down and clicking for 40 hours isn't lazy, if anything playing RuneScape alot makes you lazy. I also don't expect Jagex to change it for me, I was just wondering why they originally made the max 13m, foresight or whatever. stop trolling lol.. actually tbf i did say i think itd be good for them to lower the levels. And i personally dont ever think Runescape will be truly challenging simply due to the simplistic nature of combat. tbf ive never played any other mmos but ive seen leeroy jenkins and some other wow videos and it just seems that the entire combat method requires more skill. might well be wrong though.. and yeah it is challenging to a degree, merchanting takes a fair level of foresight or intelligence, as well as pking. but to the average joe runescaper that doesn't merch very much or pk the game is not very challenging i think. oh yeah and also to all the replies to me comparing rs to crack, from my expreience yeah ive been friends with people were this is true. altho yeah its probally not as bad as crack lol. but still to claim an mmo is not addictive is just silly, i say im addicted but i only log in for 30-hr a day, sometimes playing 6 in a row every now and again. but even doing that affects my real life, so for people who think playing 6 hours weekdays, 10 on weekends is fine, your lying to urself. and to think that people dont play that much is again a bit silly, unless the people i have known on runescape have been a very small section.

200M in all Skills
yeah but like i guestimated, even playing from 2001 - now and achieving 200m all skills would take 1/3 of your waking life. Im sure that the exp was negligible until 2005 at least due to such slow exp rates. so im sure they have spent a llooong time playing. But maybe not, itd be interesting to see.
-
Why do you think Jagex made 99s Require so Much EXP?
Agreed. @amitoz I dont get why its ridiculous? I think that if 7m had been the cap the whole time that RuneScape would be a very different game, it would still be seen as just as much of a challenge (IMO) to get 99 because the playing hours would change. Id think, maybe not though to be fair. But if the premade goal is 13m exp, or (eg mining) around 500000 clicks, it automatically makes players set standards higher. Dunno maybe Im wrong, but dont straight up call me a noob for suggesting something that might take 70 hrs ( very liberal mining estimate) instead of 130 hours.. I think that's a very sensible suggestion.. everyone who is willing to work harder than you is a nerd no tbf i removed that, but teeet (wtf i cant say [bleep]?) for tat man, anyone that doesnt want to get 13m exp is a noob? but i definitely don't consider it working harder, working for longer. in general, runescape isn't hard, simply time consuming.
-
Why do you think Jagex made 99s Require so Much EXP?
I doubt it from what I've heard about Andrew Gower, but yeah what you say is pretty true. I guess RuneScape wouldn't exist anymore if theyd made 99 the max exp you could achieve.

200M in all Skills
That's fair, but where is line eh? Am I allllowed to point out that it is unhealthy to put that many hours in the game, because its kind of bashing but it is kind of true.. I would love to know the total play hours of say, S U O M I or Skiller..

200M in all Skills
Is that not a part of discussing 200m all skills? I mean I think it should be, it's very applicable. The idea of getting 200m is intertwined with the idea of spending ALOT of time on RS, and its clearly something that needs to be discussed, can you not see that playing 15+ hrs a day consistently for 3 years + is incredibly damaging, and should not be encouraged. I think that aswell as the methods to get 200m the time consumption should also be discussed, especially by the players spending that much time. at 100k exp an hour it would take 2000 hours to get 200m in one skill. I swear that max agility, runecrafting, fishing, mining, woodcutting, thieving and slayer are around 100k exp max, i might be wrong about thieving and slayer but its deffinately around that, and that's assuming that fishing will be cutting/fishing which requires insane attention for 2000 hours!! So Im gnna vaguely estimate 14000 hours simply for those skills, i know about effigies to be fair but i dont really understand them.. but yeah so im guessing max smithing exp is around 200k? an hour? maybe way off but lets assume, same for magic, range, summoning? thats another 4000 hours. I dont have a clue for the rest of them, i know some are quick but hunter isnt particuarly... and then of course the time to make the money for 200m buyables im gunna make a fairly conservative guess of.. 4000 more hours? anyway Id say that atm the slowest you could possibly do 200m in all skills is around 20-25 THOUSAND hours.. Ok so that's around 937 if 22.5k days so lets say 3 years.. solid... on a game.. Erm yeeah i think this is a very important point to talk about, because that is too much! i just wonder why their parents/friends dont stop them from playing that much.. Anyway surely this has to be discussed... otherwise you're all lying to yourselves/ normalising this behaviour/ just censoring an important issue.. oh yeah, and if someone achieves 200m in the next 2 years, and has spent 3 years then they will AT THE LEAST spent 1/4 of their life for the last 4 years ina game.. you sleep for 1/3 of that so ermm... icant work that out but ill just guess 1/3 of waking time for the last 12 years spent on an mmo.. Hmmm :ohnoes: http://shine.yahoo.com/channel/parenting/korean-couple-kill-their-own-infant-while-nurturing-virtual-baby-1053551 ^^^ maximum they spent was 12hours at a time and they were mosterised (rightly so) by the world (obv slightly different but if 12 hours is considered neglect of your life then 15.. well.. ) EDIT: CONCLUSION for people who dont wanna read The discussion of gaining 200m in all skills encompasses the time taken, therefore pointing out how much time is being spent has everything to do with the topic.

Why do you think Jagex made 99s Require so Much EXP?
dont call me a nood mate, i been palying at least 6 years longer than you. Im pretty sure it would have curved the level of addiction at least a bit if the caps were orinally at 7m. Thats still hundreds of hours of playing to get 99 in mining etc.
-
Why do you think Jagex made 99s Require so Much EXP?
No [cabbage] mate, i know how many people have 99s. At what point did I amke out I didn't. Yeah but they don't make there money on how many hours they play a month, unless f2p, they make it just on people playing it enough to wanna buy membership. For me that's like 10 hours min. I dunno I think maybe people wouldn't go for as many 99s if there was a lower exp requirement, possbily using different ways to train? I dunno.. but is it not mad thatthey originally started with that much exp to get 99?? Also i think its irresponsible to make a game where that much time needs to be put in.. Ok, there was no need to be rude. All you sound like is an average noob who wishes he didn't have to work as hard as he does for a 99. Get the hell over it and don't play the game if you find it not fun. nah im an average person that doesnt want to spend hours upon hours getting 99. To be fair ive already got 5. I'm talking more about how detremental the ammount of tiem required is to people as well. Im not complaining I can't get a 99, it's not hard, it's just a waste of life -.- PLus I am actually going to quit the game, but im pretty addicted to it. Thats one reason im getting pissed off about the way the game is set up, like I already said I think its incredibly irresponsible to have a game where the max level takes that many hours. Even Chinning it might well take 130 hours to get 99 range. Obviously it's my fault for having an addictive personality, but Jagex dont help by creating a platform set the way RuneScape is for me to get addicted to. if your going to quit then quit. Its not irresponsible its them getting paid by players to host a game aka their job. You're the irresponsible one because you don't know when to stop playing a game. Chinning also takes far less than 130 hours to get 99 range.... Its all your fault. None is Jagex's. Absolute bull mate, of course some of it's Jagex's fault. They made the game the way it is, they're the ones realeasing high level content where u need all 99s. Fair most of its my fault but I already said that. Would you say that the person who invented crack is not at all to blame for anybody addicted now because it wasnt intented to be used like that? Course not its partly his fault for making something like that, The very nature of RuneScape is to spend hours geting skills, hence there are thousands over really addicted gamers. Its boths fault. Surely u can appreciate how hard it is to quit, u must no people that play far too much that it starts to badly affect their life? If not then watever.

YEah that's actually probably it!
