Eating meat - right or wrong?
Well I eat meat. For a couple of reasons: it tastes good, it gives me protien that's needed for growth (don't suggest cheese, it gives me a migrane). The animals that are killed for food are given life. If we didn't breed them and protect them, they would probably have a very short life. Also, the animals are dead and on the shelves so if you don't eat them they have been killed for nothing. However, I do find battery hens are poorly treated so I only eat free-range eggs.

All things Golf
Nice handicap - nearly single figures  I love golf, but I haven't played in over a month. It's been incredibley bad weather here. Some schools were closed and our river burst its banks. I am moving to another golf club after it took the old club over a year to tell me my handicap had been cut to fifteen. Unfortunately, this means I have three months to wait until I can play as they have a different financial year. For anyone interested in equipment, I use Mizuno T-zoid irons, a fifty-pence lob wedge I picked up at a car boot sale, a second hand ben sayers putter and I rarely use woods but when I do they are assorted Donnay woods. I should get my handicap down to ten this year if I work hard. :

Favorite Christmas Song?
Happy Christmas (war is over) I don't like christmas songs but I like the lyrics in it. I think christmas songs are too cheesy though.

Christmas awkwardness
I don't think Christmas is about religion any more. It's more about bringing families together. That's what I love about Christmas. Thank God I'm an atheist!

Why School Sucks
I hate the school toilets - they stink and each time I've gone in there people are in there smoking and kicking the doors of the cubicles. *Shudders*

Chemistry.....Chemical Reactions
Acetone (nail polish remover) and a big block of polystyrene. It dissolves it and it can go on for ever!

What you want to be when you're older?
I fancy being a freelance photographer or a photographer in some magazine. It isn't likely as my standard of photos is generally pretty low, and the professional photographers, but a boy can dream can he not? Failing the above I fancy being a ... DENTIST! :P Really...

Any Embarassing Christmas Stories?
Any one got any stories from Christmas from when they were young and did something stupid and always gets cast up every Christmas making you cringe? When I was about eight, my mum asked me to make a list to santa. I dutifully browsed throught the Argos and Index catalogues and came up with a list, item numbers and price included. So that was four sides of A4 paper used for a list to santa. "That's a bit much to carry in his sleigh, dear" So I whipped out my pencil and drew a few lines so that half the paper was divided up. "What's that?" So I pointed at each section: "this year, next year, next next year..." Wasn't that clever? \ So any interesting stories?

It was quite warm actually :P It was great but I want to go back - the photos of Tunisia were taken with a Fuji A330 which is pretty pathetic in comparison to my current camera. I want to go back and maybe take a trip to the Sahara next time - I might get some really terrific shots. I'm hoping to get a Nikon D70s with some lenses - probably a standard kit lens and a 70-200mm or 100-300mm lens or there about. However, that's very expensive and it's unlikely I'll get it within a year. On the other hand, the limitations of my current camera are fading - I've got an NDX8 filter - so I can take long shutter speeds in day time.

Help - I need a title!
The shutter speed was 15s with an apeture of F8.0 You think along the same lines as I do though, I thought of "Streaks Ahead" *thinks* That's not in the short list! I'll have to add.

- Help - I need a title!
Hmm... seems a bit complex for a title - the theme is "lights" so I think it's probably best to stick to something related to light. The theme is a little vague as "Photo" literaly means "Light" so I could post any photo I wanted :XD:- Help - I need a title!
Through the dark - sounds good - that's in the shortlist :P Vroom Vroom - infringes copyright... maybe? Road - A bit plain Breathing Space - can you explain that to me?- Hmm, first go at this. -I need ideas-
Ideas for the sky: Birds? I don't know if they would be too hard to do in a small pixel such as this. Perhaps light clouds - similar colour complementing the colour of the sky? I'm not so good at ideas but these might work.- First Pixel - C&C Welcome
I am not pixeler but I feel it looks better with two or three characters. I don't know too much though. Happy pixelling!- Photo Gallery - Updated 06/07/2011
Two more photos added. The picture of the tree is supposed to be dark - I took a 15 second exposure of it in the dark a few nights ago. Don't forget to help me with naming the second photo!- Help - I need a title!
I need help getting a title for an image I fancy entering into a competition. The last date to enter is the 2nd of January 2007 but I'd like to get it in sooner. Here's the image: Any ideas - no matter how unorthodox - are appreciated! Shortlist: Through The Dark City Lights The Empty Path Streaks Ahead Lone Street City Life Light through the darkness Argh! The shortlist isn't very short now! :ohnoes:- Photo Gallery - Updated 06/07/2011
When I was on a walk along the forth and clyde canal with my two dogs, I saw one in the grass, so I picked it up and stuck it in my camera bag. The camera bag has yet to be cleaned but I washed my camera filters and my hands - so do not worry about my hygene (sp?).- Photo Gallery - Updated 06/07/2011
Fujifilm FinePix S7000 As above. Erm what do you mean - I have an apeture range of F2.8 - F8.0 so with that it's kinda limited. Depth of field is affected by the apetures - small apeture means the more of the image is in focus. The focus ring on my camera could be better but I do not think that is an excuse for shoddy focusing. I agree that the cattipilar shot is a bad image with the composition, the focus and the depth of field but with harsh sunlight it is hard to get a large apeture without over exposing.- Photo Gallery - Updated 06/07/2011
More photos will be added shortly. Anyone with tips on how to straighten images in photoshop is desperately needed to post!- The Sig Rating Game

The new photos are great. A few things that could be improved though. Most of the ones with the trees could be improved by going back and taking the photo in a portrait format for greater impact. Another thing you could do is grab your tripod, go back and set it up take a photo - exposing for the sky - and take another - exposing for the foreground. When you get back, stick them into photoshop in two layers and play about with the fill/opacity of each layer. Another good way to get by over exposing the sky is by taking the image - preferably one with lots of trees - then open it in photoshop, copy layer and on the copied layer add a radial blur (zoom) from the lightest part of the image. It will now look kinda messy so adjust the opacity till you can see the original image through the copied layer but with the streaks from the blur. When you have that select the eraser tool at about 200 pixels, accuracy is not that important, and erase the foreground until the blur looks like light coming through the trees. When you do this make sure that the source of the radial blur is the same as the source of the light in the actual image, otherwise the effect will be ugly. Hope this helps. Great photos though! Heh, no I'm not gonna sent them to my magazine - I'm going to follow a tutorial that was published in the magazine. Sorry, I should have made that clearer. - Help - I need a title!
