  1. It was epic and incredibly satisfying :P I don't think I could have asked for a better ending... [hide=Spoiler]Except if the wife had never been killed and she lived happily ever after with Spartacus..[/hide]

Yes. Copy and pasted plot line:
  3. I watched Push. Kind of an interesting idea (though not very original) but it had very poor plot/character development.
  4. I feel like that would be even more annoying than flood control for the innocent people who aren't really spamming but post a lot and thus get their posting put completely on hold. Also the features that some of you are suggesting take more work than you realize. Our tech administrators constantly have a lot of work to do (only some of which is publicly noticed). We usually don't bother with modifications like this when our current system is adequate as it creates a lot of unnecessary work for our already very busy techies ;)
  5. The point is minimizing the damage they do when there are no administrators online (or even no administrators AND no moderators). I remember many occasions when I was a global moderator and a spammer would come along and I would spend 10 or even 20 minutes removing post after post, waiting for an administrator to come online to ban him. With IPB we do have a little bit of a better system that allows moderators to stop a spammer from posting, but we still appreciate all features that slow them down until we can handle them. Anyway if you would like to make a complaint in regards to flood control, you may do so in the Forum Updates & Suggestions board.

I enjoyed it a lot :) I loved the main character. It's been a few months since I've read it, but from what I can remember, you may find bits that are a little slow. They didn't bother me particularly but if you have a low tolerance for that kind of thing, they may bother you.
  7. THe main point of flood control is to slow down users who are spamming the forums. I don't even think your suggestion is possible anyway.. but it would probably make things worse with spammers. It does suck but there's no way around it. You can always start writing your next post in a text document if you really don't want to wait.
  8. Flood control is applied to all forum members (except admins and moderators).
  9. Compared to the rest of the boards, here we are extremely lenient when it comes to spam and casual conversation/banter. Posts that would be removed in say General Discussion due to not contributing enough to the topic at hand would not be removed here. When the forum was first created, we did not disable post count because we did not create this forum with the intention of being more lenient when it comes to spam, off-topic posts and casual chatter. Over time (and in the administrators' absence), the forum came to adapt those qualities. I am not saying ALL of the posts in this forum are spam and that NONE of these posts in this forum are worthy enough to count towards post count. However, due to our extreme leniency in some areas (which is not exercised in other forums), we chose to remove post count. Now I would be happy to compromise. Either we maintain our leniency and post count remains disabled, or if you guys would prefer having post count we can keep this forum to the same standards as other forums (note: this isn't a promise as I'd have to discuss it with the other admins).

Well I only took three years of foreign languages and I do not feel that it negatively affected me. Honestly I'm sure it depends on what college(s) you are interested in and how you meet their requirements in other areas. When I applied for colleges, I honestly can't remember actually finding a college that REQUIRED four years of foreign language. If there are any, I'm sure they're like top of the line schools and given the little information that you stated, you probably wouldn't get into those schools anyway (with a GPA that "isn't great"). I wouldn't worry about it. As for whether or not it's a guideline or a requirement, it should be stated on the college's website. As I said, none of the colleges that I looked at required four years of foreign language. But if you're really concerned, I would recommend speaking to an academic advisor or a college counselor if you have either available to you. ----------------------- On a personal note, I still have a while of summer left :) I move in to my college dorm (I have a single this year - woo!) on 18 September. And classes start probably like 3 days after that. This will be my second year of college.
  11. I'm glad you like it! :) Haha I see what you mean about the Pocahontas vibe. I didn't notice that before. It's meant to be creepy! Vengeance isn't pretty! Haha tell that to Jagex! The ones in-game make no sense to me. I totally didn't understand how they actually fit on/over a hand! :o It looks like you're right! Thanks so much! I'm bummed that I won't be able to see it displayed at RuneFest though. I was almost going to go but then I was unable to, as I had to be home while some family from out of state was visiting. Darn! It's a great honour to have my artwork on the wall anyway!

I just finished Fire by Kristin Cashore, which is the prequel to Graceling. It wasn't as good as Graceling but was kind of a fun read.
  13. I just finished all the episodes and I loved it :P The last few episodes were especially epic. I'm longing for more!!
  14. I have been watching Spartacus Blood and Sand. I finished the season and craved for more so I watched Gladiator :P
  15. It is not the intent of the Administrators to make your guys' lives miserable. However you do have to remember that we are the Administrators and thus leaders and runners of this forum so our presence is inevitable. We are trying our best to work with you guys rather than against you and it is a shame that some of you seem to feel that we are working against you. In regards to merging, the Tip.it Forums as a whole have undergone many, many changes over the years. We are continuously making changes in all areas and the Falador Tavern is no exception. Honestly it does kind of amaze me to see such an uproar over such a small issue. I'm starting to even wonder if we're actually arguing about the merging of forums or if we're really arguing about Administrative involvement (regardless of what form it takes). At the fault of the Administrative Team, the Falador Tavern was left unattended by us for a long time so I think the sudden appearance of Administrators is causing some.. ruffled feathers. While our involvement may be more obvious than before, we are not trying to breathe down your necks and control your every move. That being said, you do need to remember that the Falador Tavern is a part of the Tip.it Forums which is led by Administrators and all parts of the forum are subject to the Tip.it Forum Rules. But we really need to try to work with each other rather than against each other. I hope I can speak for more than just myself when I say that this constant arguing over trivial issues is getting tiresome. I'm not trying to strip you all of your opinions and some debate is welcome, but please try to consider how serious an issue really is before making a big deal out of it (and we will do the same). There will always be some decisions that you are displeased with, and I'm sure there will be some decisions that the Administrative Team is displeased with. The decisions we have to make are not always easy and we do not always like them. But we do always make those decisions for the good of the community and with its interests in mind. At the end of the day, Administrators serve the users. It saddens me to see such hostility between the two groups in this forum. It seems that with every issue here that Administrators are involved in, there is an outcry of some sort. I don't know if there are some underlying feelings that we need to work out or what.. but I would like to get this settled now rather than let it continue through this issue and into future issues. Both sides will eventually need to make sacrifices and occasionally give in. But I think we can both give a little to make this relationship work and both sides can walk away happier. And maybe we all need to consider: what are we really fighting for?
  16. How would we go about doing that? Only interested because Skull fits the criteria. Just PM an admin and we'll discuss it with you :)
  17. You can always save your avatar to your computer and upload it to another image hosting site. :) Just rechecked my avatar's image URL after coming to see your reply... 94 Characters. I wonder why PhotoBucket temporarily added a 16 character time stamp parameter... :-k Anyway, now that I've seen that, I could settle with an increase to a limit of 120. (I felt like 255 was far too ridiculous anyway.) This brings me to my next thought, which is... "Why should I have to upload to another site, when I already have a PhotoBucket account? Why effectively snub ALL registered PhotoBucket users in this regard?" ...and I'm rather sure was never your intent? Can it really be that much of a problem to adjust a limit number in order to accommodate everyone who has a registered (and/or well-organized) PhotoBucket account? I can't see any reason to leave anyone out, and a field of reason to change it to include everyone. IMHO, it would honestly take a lot more work to upload to another service and re-link from them, than it would to just change a single solitary URL character limit number, because each person who would have to do that would also have to track their image for a myriad of reasons. For that matter, I don't see any good reason that someone who has an account with one image host should ever have to get an image hosting account with another. It would be overkill, to be honest. ~D. V. "All you have to do is change one thing to save everyone a lot of pain." Devnull (p.s.: I didn't mean for this post to come out sounding so scathing and/or adversarial. Sorry.) Not all PhotoBucket users are affected by this. For instance, you could reduce the length of your URL by renaming the image itself. The name of your image is "20080506_vts_avvy_4_tipit.jpg" That alone adds on many characters. There are plenty of users who use PhotoBucket successfully to host their avatars. A user from this very thread has a PhotoBucket avatar with a URL that is only 60 characters. Secondly, you do not necessarily have to an account with another hosting site. There are many image hosting sites that do not require you to create an account (ImageShack, which I use, and I think [Censored for time being]).
  18. You can always save your avatar to your computer and upload it to another image hosting site. :)
  19. The Administrative Team will free up older accounts if requested and if they meet very specific criteria. We will free up an old account for you if it meets all of the following criteria: It has not been used in three years from the current date It has 0 posts It has no "last signed in" date later than the account creation date Or, we will also free up an account if the user who wants the display name change also owns the old account and can prove it. If the name you are interested in meets the above criteria, PM the name to an Administrator :)
  20. Enough with the bashing, flaming, spamming and botting references. This was made clear on the first page of this thread and I should not have to keep coming back here and removing such posts. Casting users in a negative light (i.e. accusing them of botting) and posting any other personal attacks towards users are violations of the Tip.it Forum Rules. http://forum.tip.it/topic/274729-111111111-agility-xp/page__view__findpost__p__4456020 This: This is a pre-warnning to all that there will be no more discussion of botting. If you don't have anything nice to post, don't. ~Stevepole
  21. Congratulations on the win, misterxman!! It's awesome to see you doing some digital painting! Planning on converting? ;)
  22. Peter is ftw
  23. We hope you guys enjoy these changes and a big thanks to Peter
  24. This, pretty much. While it would be a nice feature, I honestly can't imagine us having time to implement this. It would take a fair amount of work to do, I'm sure, and we have a lot more pressing matters to take care of that will take a while yet to complete.
  25. What a wonderful picture! :) As previously stated, The Gallery forum is for artwork. But real life pictures can be posted here: Real life pictures - 4. Please be sure to repost it because this is a darling picture and I'd hate for people to miss out on it!
