There's no way it can be serious. Who would do a quest to lose the best slayer master? It has to be a lie, the guy probably made that whole cutscene thing up.

I am surprised that the author did not mention throwing axes and javelins as being the most completely useless weapons for ranged. Javelins are uterlly underpowered; they fire slow (speed of 4), hit only 1 or 2 points higher than arrows at most and cannot be fletched, and the amount that a few select monsters drop of them are quite pathetic really (except for black dragons that drop 30 adamant javelins quite frequently). Throwing axes are a bit more useful because they fire faster than the javelin (speed of 5) and the rune one has the special that hits multiple enemies. But the difficulty in obtaining them (no monsters that I know of drop them and they cannot be fletched or smithed) make them a weapon no one uses (I have never seen anyone use them). You could argue that they are 1-handed, but knives, darts and crossbows are also and all 3 are superior. Knives and darts have a speed of 7. The crossbow has the same speed of a javelin, a much higher ranged bonus and can hit more than twice as hard! In my opinion, the crossbow made even shortbows obsolete. I tested this at mutated bloodvelds (they have quite alot of HP). I would take up to 2 minutes to kill one using the mage shortbow, but never more than 1 minute 30 seconds with either darts or the crossbow. The release of the Dark Bow did not fix this either, despite the +95 ranged bonus and firing two arrows at once it fires so slow it's not worth it. The only real use it has is for the specials. Even crystal bows are obsolete now, the rune crossbow has a constant +90 ranged bonus, 1-handed and with a speed of 4, while the crystal starts at +100 but can go as low as +64 as it degrades, with a speed of 5. This would perhaps be balanced out if the bow hit higher, but no, I can hit 25's with the crossbow and around 19 with the crystal bow! Jagex seriously has to re-balance ranged to give those weapons some actual use. Ask anyone if they use javelins and they'll laugh hard at your face.

Skatedog, tip.it used to criticize Jagex in the past. I can remember 3 articles, one was about the 3rd party client ban by Jagex, the second is this one that talks about emergent gameplay, and third here about pure essence. But I'm sure there are more if you look closely. But then Jagex got pretty mad at tip.it, Andrew complained about it... and they don't seem to write those anymore.

Well, the guide seems kind of boring to me. Usually guides have lots of pictures, but this one has no picture at all, aside from the item ones.... Maybe put pictures of the exibits? (especially the monster ones!) Ohh, and I have one question: I noticed in a screenshot of the KQ exibit that there's a sheet of paper there. If you click it, does it display the quiz questions and answers or entirely different info? (such as the monster's history, weaknesses, etc)?

You say RS doesn't advertise? http://www.miniclip.com RS was the top game in that site for a long time. That's probably how so many kiddos play it now. They visit miniclip looking for a passtime game and stumble upon RS. And about the community, RS has one of the worse communities (at least on F2P). A new player arrives in lumbridge and what does he find? People selling accounts, cursing and generally breaking the rules. I've played a game, Ryzom, wich had the best community a game can possibly have. Everyone was very courteous and willing to help. I barely logged in the game for my first time and about 3 people VOLUNTEERED to help me. Now that's the spirit every game should have.

As I said in the last article's topic, I quit RuneScape because of this after 3 years of playing. I don't want to play a game that is doomed to become Club Penguin (Cold War anyone?).

That is precisely the reason why, after 3 years of playing, I quit RuneScape. I'm NOT bored with the game, but I don't want to play a game that's doomed to be a kiddie playground. YES, I'm unlike most other people, I AM doing something other than complaining in the forums about the situation. I'm removing 5 dollars from their monthly revenue. I'm now trying to find some other MMORPG to spend my spare time with. I'm sure there are plenty of good ones out there with Devs that actually listen to their players. I'll eventually find it :D 1- No, firemaking is. Hunter is second. 2- That's why I quit!

Well, that info that you have 67 mining is disnecessary, because the speed in wich you mine essence is only affected by the quality of your pickaxe, and not by your mining level.

Why, God, why does the nice and innocent people die while you keep the bad people alive? :evil: But anyways, I tried to search for Anarith and Cwc lawry in the highscores, but they are not ranked. Does anyone have an idea why? Maybe jagex deleted them after being asked so by their family or something?

Lol, I got the money for my first rune pickaxe exclusively from smithing various iron/steel items and selling them to general shops.

I found a lil mistake. You say that prffdinas will probably be a part of mourning's end part 2. It wasan't. Replace it for part 3 ;D
