If you were President, what would you change/add?
Don't even get me started on "The morals of a Christian nation". I could rip that argument six ways to Sunday. It's too easy to do so. With all the contradicting viewpoints among Christians and the fact that "abomonations" are allowed legally completely destroy that argument. Morally "wrong" practices which are legal: -Abortion -"The Sin against Nature" -Gay Marriage (Limited, sadly) -Prostitution (Limited) -Gambling We are far better than the rest fo the world. Every Christian (I hope) knows this nation is going secular, but that doesn't mean they themselves don't want to keep the status quo. Most of our gov't is absed on Judeo-Christian values, as I posted earlier, such as Capitalism.

Poverty Can Cause Brain Damage
Ah, but Ginger - apart from Runescape [discussion of which is banned here], Religion and Politics are the only things worth talking about. Yep. So, basically, you're saying the parents aren't to be blamed AT ALL?? You sure about that? Here's an idea: Don't buy the TV, orthe computer, unless needed for your job. If you're that poor, you could use that money, and your kids could use the exercise. I imagine most of this stems from early childhood; when the baby is born, the mom sits it in front a mobile I think it's called, in the crib. When he's 4, the TV, when he's 10, the TV and the Computer, when he's 15 iPod, Tv, Computer, Movie Theater, Radio, he can't go anywhere where he can stimulate his brain; and still be in the norm. It HAS been shown that 'media,' (in general) has shown to "slow" people down mentally. The problem with kids these days, at least most of them, is that they can only have fun when being electronically stimulating. And don't pretend we've not been working on this, with Boys and Girls clubs, and such, which is a form of day care where the kids won't be assimilated into the TV. Also, don't forget the enviroment, somekids don't WANT to learn; I realize they didn't say learning necessarily, but even asking stimulating questions, they simply don't care. The main problem, isn't bad parents, or a poor enviroment, or media or even role models, it's a combination of all, and the end resultant is apathy. Kids these days are too apathetic, why use your brain when you can use your eyes, much easier. All they care about is what's 'new and hot,' and not what's important for them. Even kids who are born intelligent, fake stupid, or fake apathy, and eventually they DON'T care. A kid in my English class had Principal's List (all A's) almost his whole high school career, well, he just dropped out about 3 weeks ago. He said he was sick of being the smart kid, and he was going to sell weed, in the ghetto to make his money. If you want to blame it on the parents, sure, it is their fault for not being *good* role models. If you want to blame it on conservatives, sure, it's their fault for not giving them money to buy weed with. But really, what EVERYONE needs to do, is get active, and help out tutoring the kids who ARE trying, and help clean up the neighborhoods that these poor people live in, it may justchange their attitude. THE PROBLEM WITH LIBERALS (most at least) is that they think money will solve anything, they don't want to do the manpower needed.

The bible
For the love of Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva, stop talking. And you know, maybe start reading. For the sake of being productive in my suggestions, if nothing else. Bah. You obviously can't comprehend what I'm trying to say. What I MEAN is: Evolution and Big bang, are really the only parts of science ANYONE even bothers to debate.

I'm glad I made your day better. :wall:   Do you really think it's more than that much?

The bible
Because I'm not writing my life story. And because it hasn't inspired me to do anything 'great.' It has helped me, in various ways, but it's not like it's inspired me to cure cancer.

If you were President, what would you change/add?
The Church constantly gets involved with politics, even if they don't have any official seat of power inside a legislature. They take their power to the ballot box instead (re: Mormon support for Prop 8.). How many times do you hear about religion not liking the way evolution is taught in schools? If they were truly separate, they'd just but out. Hell, only today we had several prominent figures in the Anglican church speak out against Mugabe. If that's not getting involved in politics, I really don't know what is. Oh I get what you're talking about. In that case, you're correct; people will always use their religous beliefs to support certain things. I just meant we aren't even close to a Theocracy. And Tbf, and 3rkid, those wouldn't work. First off, AP is a lot harder than core, it's easy as to get a b+ in any core class, but a B in AP for most people is difficult. I had a b+ all year in Chem, but I'd fail AP Chem. Also, most people can't stay after for sports. THANK YOU RUSSIANFED!!! I thought I was going crazy. He is correct, it in nowhere is in the Constitution, if so, show me. And NoMoreDead, it has the morals of a Christian nation, and I think all the presidents were Christian, that's most likely what they were talking about.

Depression and Millionairs
Becoming a CEO or becoming rich has absolutely nothing to do with not being able to afford college earlier; There are countless top executives in Fortune 500 companies who have barely any formal education beyond the required minimum or became drop-outs in their youth. It takes a very specific person type to head a company from scratch to greatness, not even a small percentage of the average work force is up to the stress, dedication and non-book smart intelligence it demands of a person. It makes no sense for the mind behind the operation to be paid similar wages compared to the manual labourer who only assembles parts and does what he's told. All the responsibility and expectations, even legal consequences of the operations, fall on the CEO, not the common factory worker working under orders. He's the one having to explain problems to capital investors. He's the one going to jail if tax fraud or large scale embezzlement goes undetected for years. He is the one whose family will be in potential danger if the company goes unexpectedly under and unlawful elements of the financial society decide to extract revenge or extort returns. No serious skilled person is going to take the job without a proper financial encouragement significantly higher than that gained of physical, ordinary labour. Amen. He's exactly right, as my job, all the managers (baby managers, not the head honcho) get paid more, because they have to tell the owner why we're losing money; why we're not doing our work. The regular employees can say "I was just doing what I was told." But the managers have to actually take responsibility. (I'm not saying workers don't.) And Zierrho, while it may not, it DOES make sense to get out what you're put in.

If you were President, what would you change/add?
Church and State is seperated, unless you're refering to the Pledge. Which is ALSO laughable, don't say the pledge. Easy. I go to school and learn about Evolution in Biology, I don't agree with it, I just put the facts on the test and erase it from my memory.

If you were President, what would you change/add?
Most likely your respective country. --------------- (United States) If I had a nice long time to think about it, there's probably a lot I would change. But firstly I would require everyone to retake a driving class once every 10 years, this being required to renew your license. It's scary how many absolutely terrible drivers there are out there. I know I'm far from a perfect driver but I don't do some of the stupid [cabbage] I've seen people do.. I would also legalize stem cell research, decriminalize marijuana (legalize medical in all states), and make some changes in the public schooling system so we're more focusing on retaining information than just passing the next test. That's so true about the schol system; we have SOLS (lame piece of [cabbage]s a 1st grader could do) and all the teachers do is cater to them. Hmm... Get rid of all hot pockets. Those things arew so gross, my mom always acts surpirsed whern I won't eat them. Also, I'd ban McDonalds, BK and Taco Bell and so much better.

Depression and Millionairs
That's eerily similar to FDR's plan, which we all know DID NOT WORK. And to the post about Capitalism relying on greed. Get over yourself, capitalism relies on people willpower, intuition, and creativity. It is the best functioning economic system that we know of so far. While Socialism is better, it will NEVER work in the real world. As nice as it is, there's no use crying about it and blaming all your problems on Capitalism. Blue Lancer also brings up some good points. Industry helps people; it doesn't harm them. Snowager286, it doesn't make sense, to compare something so long ago, to nowadays, and say it's STILL wrong. Things can change over time; while yes, the industry was awful back in the day, now they DO care for the worker. Ever heard of HR? Child Labor Laws? OSHA? Besides, the company wouldn't be there, if it wasn't for the workers.

What are you listening to right now!?
Oh wow, that reminds me I need to get some Autopsy. Probably Mental Funeral... Awaiting the Suffering by Festering Saliva - A truely awesome Brutal Death Metal band. No offence, but I always think Death Metal bands have semi cheesy names, like Festering Saliva, for instance (I only use that cause it's right here) sounds like a poser name. Ofc, I can't talk cause I listen to MCR,. Bleeding Mascara -Atreyu Lip Gloss And Black -Atreyu (OH MY GOD!!! The last 30 seconds are so awesome, it's an orgasm for my ears. The video is also epic.) The Crimson -Atreyu I've been in an Atreyu mood for the past two months. Also, I can't say I've heard Tool before, what type of music is it?

What was the most scared you have ever been?
Hmm... I don't get scared often, but a kind of embarrassing one was, I was going to bed, at 4 am, after watching a horror movie. (I forget which) and something banged on the window 1 foot away from me, and a light flashed in the backyard, then some windows in another part started banging and so I ran upstiars like a proud 17 year old male I am. The next day I found footsteps everywhere, I figured it was lame [wagon] high schoolers, because of the brand names emblazoned into the mud from their shoes.

Depression and Millionairs
Well naturally, no, I don't think anyone could. But, they earned the money, so they can choose to do whatever they want with it. Here's my personal stance, while yes, everyone should donate, no one has to. If you worked your [wagon] off your whole life, wouldn't you want to enjoy the fruits of your labor? Whether it's 40,000, 400,000, 4,000,000, or even 40,000,000 dollars, it's yuor money, keep it. And actually, a lot do give to charity, simply because it's a tax write off, and taxes are a [bleep] for rich people. You usually see people on TV who don't give to charity, but many do, Warren Buffet for one. I think he donated a whole hell of a lot to Africa.

Depression and Millionairs
Are you saying people shouldn't keep what they deserve? I hope not. Yes, donate, but they only should donate, what they want to donate. It's ridiculous to ask people to donate. Even more so to force them, they earned it.

What will you be celebrating this month?
The prevalence of greed. http://www.nydailynews.com/ny_local/200 ... after.html And, the death of humanity. And, my 18th b-day, Xmas, New Years, and 2 weeks of not seeing those obnoxious [wagon] people at my school.
