The bible
1. You didn't need to quote the whole thing... 2. I think the guy is banned anyway.. Or at least was banned. The Earth really is that old, and most Christians realize that. There are very few fundamentalist morons who think the world isn't 4.5 billion years old. I won't try to tell you gravity doesn't exist, and you forget about arguing against a well known fact, deal? A number of morals in the bible are outdated, or at least what was morally correct. He makes sense because the morals in the bible were based on the morals at the time of writing, the morals today are much different, so the bible doesn't really work as a moral guidebook today. I mean there are a lot of good points in there, but if you only follow some of the morals then you are really just following your own morals, so it's not the bible. Finally, science tells us how and why something works, religion is essentially a bunch of stories with morals, and a fictitious version of the creation of the universe. I guess I didnt need to quote it, sorry. Here's what I think: at least, when I think Fundamentalist, I think radical, who burns abortion clinics and kills atheists. But thinking that evolution and the big bang don't make you strange at all. Just like saying you like one kind ofi ce cream ove ranother doesn't make you strange, it's an opinion. Because if two people read the same thing, and get two different conclusions, they can call each other fact as many times as they want, but they both are only opinions. And no, I'm not debating a well known fact, I know gravity is there; I know that microscopic germs exist; I know that bloodletting does not work; I know that the Earth is round; I know that the Earth revolves around the Sun, and not vice versa. So as you can see, all I'm really debating, and all I've ever debated with Science, is Evolution, and the Big Bang, which is about 10% worth of Science. And, while some morals, yes, are outdated, like if your house was moldy, it was to be destroyed. But 99.9% (yes, I made that statistic up) of the 'oudated' morals are in the Old Testament, where they became outdated as soon as Jesus was born\died. We use so many today, even Atheists use them and aren't aware of it. And, that part of following your own morals isn't neccesarily true, most Christians know that a lot of the morals or 'laws,' were made to purify Israel, and to set it apart from the world. And, no offence, but who are you to decide what's fictitous or not? Can you accept the possiblity that you COULD be wrong? And too Venomai, I meant what Lent says, yes Science says why something does it, but what I mean is, Religion states for what reason, what made it all start, it gives purpose, in a way Science never can.

The bible
While it does not say exactly, someone used points in the bible to figure the Earth out to be around 4,000. And we also don't believe in Big Bang, you may, but I don't.

The bible
Another point, is dinosaurs. The bible does in fact mention mythological beasts, whether it is talking about dinosaurs or not is irrelivent. It wouldn't make sense if they had big days, as the bible includes sentences such as "he travelled for X days" If in fact, the days back then were big enough to account for the billions of years this earth has been around for, in this 'X days' he would have been dead in the first day. Fossils are billions of 'today's years' old, but apparently the bible is 6000 years old. I explained above about the argument about different sized days cannot be true, so if you believe in the bible, you cannot believe in dinosaurs. Which have been proven, you might as well not believe in gravity. There have been many religions over the centuries. Each religion can be baught down to 2 reasons, one of which is morals. The other reason is to explain what science and technology can't. One example is the ancient egyptions. They did not have the science and technology to know how the sun rose and set, it appeared to them to move across the sky. So they invented a god that moved the sun across the sky. Today we know that is [cabbage], and the Earth revolves around the sun - which is why it appears to move across the sky. We know this because of the science and technology we have today. Lets briefly compare a story of the bible, to a religious story we have today. The sun moving across the sky in ancient egypt, and jesus being the son of god. They both took true facts. There was really a man called jesus who claimed to be the son of god. And the sun does in fact appear to move across the sky. And then turned them into stories to explain what science and technology can't. A god passes through 12 gates, fights a serpent and carries the sun across the sky, and A man called Jesus claimed to be the son of god and performed mericles. (sp) My question: How is the Ancient Egyptions religion, which we all know is rubbish, any different to the stories in the bible? There are in fact still people today who believe in ancient religions, because of faith even though they are wrong, and that is all that christianity is. Your whole post is flawed. First off, it is in no way proven to be 4.5 billion years. Show me the proof, in that case. Second, Why are you comparing the Egyptian God to the Christian one? The whole morals thing is wrong, a religion can't become 'outdated,' while some parts of it can, not the whole thing itself. Also, Christians believe the universe was created in a week, not 4 billion years. It would not be a miracle if it wasn't 4 billion years. I can't explain the light thing, I think about that myself. Why is it irrelevant if they're talking about Dinosaurs or not? And lastly, Science tells how something works, Religion tells WHY something works.

Enlistment (and stuff)
You are required by law to register with Selective Services at the age of 18. The military has been voluntary since Vietnam, and it is unlikely the draft will be used unless the world goes down the tubes. Yea, I got that letter a week ago, I was pissed because my SSN was in plain sight. -.- Also, I found out, I can't be drafted, EVER because of my medical history. \ \ \ (I took anti depressants)

The Secret Of Life
Oh, that reminds me, I saw this video, and this guy was interviewing RD, and RD said what could have been the origin of earth was somewhat related to scientology. He said something like aliens who have gone through all the stages of evolution planted us here. Even my Atheists friends laughed at that. I saw the video, it's a placebo pill in a movie, effectively.

Reveal Confessions, Secrets & Regrets...
You're not ignorant if you don't think Global Warming isn't happening. Yes, the Earth is heating up, WHY is the matter. I researched it, and found out that about 1,000 years ago, it was a lot hotter than now, but we went into a mini ice age, and our just coming out. Also, think, trees essentially "breathe" CO2, so why isn't more CO2 better? And I now know Obama is an idiot, good god if he enacts the Kyoto Protocol we're all [bleep]ed over. It has been PROVEN, that using the Kyoto Protocol (in a mass simplification, reducing CO2 Emmissions by a lot) would cost the US unbelieveably obscene and disgusting huge amounts of money. And may or may not have an effect, based on what's causing the warming.

Grades, GPA's; How do you do in School?
Me. Really, getting a 4.0 is quite easy if you don't take any AP or Honors. Chemistry and Algebra (or Geometry) should be the only ones that mess you up.

The Little Things That Bug You
I agree on all, but I can debate the last one. I enjoy a wide range of music, from classical (think Mozart) to classic rock to power metal (Sonata Arctica, Dragonforce if you need a popular reference), but 2 genres I don't believe are music are rap (maybe with actual meaning to the "songs" it would be better, but anyone can talk to music, it's not hard), and screamo death metal (or whatever you would consider Cannibal Corpse and the like), in which you can neither hear the lyrics, or want to. It's just one long, low growl that varies in pitch occasionally to signal that there may have been a word ending and a new one beginning. I'm sorry, but I just can't see how these are classified as music, and not just noise... For you I recommend Flobots, aka white man's rap. It's rap, but with out the gangsta\[racist term]\[garden tool] [cabbage]. It's rap, but with violin, trumpets and bass guitatrs and such. Plus their songs are epic deep. Examples: [hide=Handlebars (the famous one)]I can ride my bike with no handlebars No handlebars No handlebars I can ride my bike with no handlebars No handlebars No handlebars Look at me, look at me hands in the air like it's good to be ALIVE and I'm a famous rapper even when the paths're all crookedy I can show you how to do-si-do I can show you how to scratch a record I can take apart the remote control And I can almost put it back together I can tie a knot in a cherry stem I can tell you about Leif Ericson I know all the words to "De Colores" And "I'm Proud to be an American" Me and my friend saw a platypus Me and my friend made a comic book And guess how long it took I can do anything that I want cuz, look: I can keep rhythm with no metronome No metronome No metronome I can see your face on the telephone On the telephone On the telephone Look at me Look at me Just called to say that it's good to be ALIVE In such a small world All curled up with a book to read I can make money open up a thrift store I can make a living off a magazine I can design an engine sixty four Miles to a gallon of gasoline I can make new antibiotics I can make computers survive aquatic conditions I know how to run a business And I can make you wanna buy a product Movers shakers and producers Me and my friends understand the future I see the strings that control the systems I can do anything with no assistance I can lead a nation with a microphone With a microphone With a microphone I can split the atoms of a molecule Of a molecule Of a molecule Look at me Look at me Driving and I won't stop And it feels so good to be Alive and on top My reach is global My tower secure My cause is noble My power is pure I can hand out a million vaccinations Or let'em all die in exasperation Have'em all grilled leavin lacerations Have'em all killed by assassination I can make anybody go to prison Just because I don't like'em and I can do anything with no permission I have it all under my command I can guide a missile by satellite By satellite By satellite and I can hit a target through a telescope Through a telescope Through a telescope and I can end the planet in a holocaust In a holocaust In a holocaust In a holocaust In a holocaust In a holocaust In a holocaust I can ride my bike with no handlebars No handle bars No handlebars I can ride my bike with no handlebars No handlebars No handlebars[/hide] It's about what humans are capable of. Christmas Controversies
I heard somewhere, that Jesus was actually born in April, but the Pope a long time ago made Christmas in December to counter a pagan holiday. Oh well. I'll say Merry Christmas, get off your ivory tower if you got a problem with that.

You are now aware that you are breathing.
Yea, I think about that a lot. I don't, I realize I'm breathing, or walking, or that my heart's beating, and whiule I worry about getting it back to normal, it happens anyway. And that's what people mean about 'the game.'

Enlistment (and stuff)
I'm kind of torn, ideally, it should be forced, but more like the Reserves. But when I think about it, I just got a form from Selective Services, and it got me thinking: even though there is no draft, what would I do if I was forced to go in? I have manhy plans after high school, college, taking up a higher paying salary, starting a family. What would I do if I was drafted? Draft dodge? I wish they had substitutes like they did in the Civil War, I don't know if I could go to Iraq, or Afghanistan to die for people who don't give a [cabbage] about me. Does the government have the right to disrupt what I plan to do with my life? Constitutionally, yes; but morally? I don't think I could handle it, and it's not for everyone. But I mean, if it's a small country, then yes, it should be forced, or a reserves type thing, simply because the bigger countries would attack it constantly for easy victories, as stated earlier. But that begs the question, if it's an easy victory, as in the larger country will always win, why even join the army? Why have a military? Why not just assimilate into the bigger country, to save lives of those who will die, if the outcome is the same.

What exactly is an ' IB Diploma '? Is it like the UK form of AP (college level classes in high school) And good luck to all who are taking it.
