  1. Evolution can't be, and isn't, in any way classified as an "opinion". As a scientific theory, evolution in human beings, plants, animals is proven beyond doubt. You will literally fail your science or biology classes in school if you refuse to acknowledge basic tenants of advanced science. In no way does scientific evidence about the world conflict with most religious views. I hate to quote the pope Benedict again, but that kind of thinking is "absurd" and absolutely irrational. There is nothing opinionated or unproven about evolution, you are misunderstanding the term scientific 'theory' (in which 'theory' does not mean a hunch or guess like already explained multiple pages back) Gravity is not an opinion. The Earth being round is not an opinion. Evolution in living organisms is not an opinion. Preferring to eat apples over oranges, or liking the color blue over the color red is an opinion. Perhaps you're misunderstanding what 'opinion' refers to. Here is the definition of fact if you were wondering, which is the polar opposite of an opinion or belief: http://books.nap.edu/openbook.php?recor ... 87&page=56 *sigh* I've already been over this; you're obviously not reading any of my posts. But I'll say it anyways. What I mean by opinion is, we have the same exact facts, we have the same earth, the same fossils, the same people. But based on our pressumptions, we choose to believe one way over the other. And niether side can see how the other one could be (not necesaarilly though) correct. I mean, I couldn't give a damn who didn't think God exists. For me, he does, and you know what, if I die, and I dissapear, and there really was no God, oh well. And Warri0r, I understand that, I didn't mean opinions like 'peanut butter cookies are the best.'
  2. Why shouldn't Evolution be taught in a science class? Would you be offended it the church wasn't allowed to teach Creationism? We should be exposed to more points of views and be open minded about it instead of censoring education. No one is forced to go to church. And, as I said, Evolution and Creationism is opinion. And also, if they want to eachEvolution, that's fine, but in a special class. And Evolution is not the same as gravity, because no one disputes it. GW, how does Evolution fit in?
  3. So it took me like... a month to reply to this haha. Life is goin so good right now actually I love it, but between school, my girlfriend, and work, I hardly have time for anything else haha. Oh and I moved from my small town of 1 000 to a city of about 75 000 at the end of August so that was a big change and stuff. I work at Papa John's and make pizza all day every day haha. Not failing anything at school too bad except for I had to drop out of physics. But yeah man life is great. I keep wanting to come back to RuneScape so I log in, look at my small cash pile, try to think of what to do, feel too lazy to do anything, and log out. It's been like that for about a month now so I really need to get on doing something.. Oh well, there is life beyond RuneScape, and I am really enjoying it at the moment. LUV YUU Elfyy Aww ilu.
  4. I'd have to rate that a solid: 10\sex.
  5. Awwwwwww. I'll pray for him.
  6. I meant more of a spiritual version of meaning of life. And this brings meback to my earlier statement, that no science about the world beginnings should be taught. Not Creationism, or Evolution. It cuases too many fights with parents against school boards and such.
  7. Oh sorry, you must have misunderstood me. I see where you're going with the reasons, Iguess I mistook your original post. I guess I what I should have meant is, by comparing the figures, how could one be a success and not the other.
  8. Why? With interventionist foreign policy, things like Iraq can easily happen. Because interventionism is a liberal view point, technically. I agree with interventionism, but I do not agree with America acting alone. THAT is where I disagree. Also, the War in Iraq could have been successful with a real plan, and a mix of military/diplomacy/policing, rather than just "let's invade and take over...but now what?" There was no plan. It could have been a success. I still probably wouldn't have supported it, but I could have been a lot less cynical about our involvement. If the world acts as one about certain issues, we can certainly take care of more of the world's problems. I think it's immoral for the world's leading powers with all of their wealth to sit around doing nothing, while ruthless dictators mistreat millions of uneducated, starving people. Tell me, how has the war in Iraq not been a success? Let's recap: Iraq: U.S. Troop Casualties - 4,193 US troops Spent & Approved War-Spending - About $600 billion of US taxpayers' funds. In June 2008, President Bush signed a bill approving about 200 billion more for 2008, which brings the cumulative total to close to $800 billion. U.S. Monthly Spending in Iraq - $12 billion in 2008 5 Years Saddam Hussein dead. WWII: United States 413,000 Dead Cost: One Trillion back then. 6 Years Hitler dead (And others, such as the Japanese) Now, WWII was considered a success, so why, once you compare them, would you not say Iraq isn't a success?
  9. When Christians finally stop interfering with education/science/rights of certain people we will. Quit with the science crap, it's not the meaning of life. Science can only tell you so much. After that, it's all you. Looking for science to answer all life's questions is like looking in a cookbook, to see how a couch is put together. Use it for what it's supposed to be used for.
  10. Just some food for thought; people say Bush created a deficit, well obviously, but nationalized healthcare, no matter who does it, will create a HUGE deficit. I saw a news story, about CA needing mney from the Feds to pay for the rest of it's healthcare.
  11. I guess it depends on the area. Around here, all the guys are rednecks. And all the girls are drama freaks also. BUty my friends are top of the class people. I mean, whenever I debate with my best friend, she's a die hard Democrat, but we can debate, and we don't shout each other down. But whenever Itry to debate the girls\guys in my core gov't class ( I shoulda taken AP. #-o #-o ) They just call me a racist.
  12. Dude, no it doesn't. All I'm saying is, the Bible doesn't support socialism, it supports capitalism as in you get out what you put in. If you don't put in anything, you don't get out anything.
  13. It's an idea dude, he's saying that with him, everything is possible. I mean, I bet Jesus could move a mountain, but us, I don't think so. BUt he is saying if we have faith, nothing will stand in our way. And to the above above poster, where is that verse from? And also, usually when it says he's a jealous God, it says so because he loves us, and he doesn't want to let us go.
  14. I have a 3,000th post planned on just that subject. America is being ideologically stupid, I agree. Well then good thing you don't live here I guess.
  15. Huh? Sure. How do they show that?
  16. [hide=quotes] What the [bleep]? Sigh.... Do you know the Story of Adam & Eva??? There so you won't be sooo confused. EDIT: Do you know what the Forbidden Fruit Represents?? [/hide] Lol. Lilith. Good God. I laugh when my friend brings it up. He says she is the ruler of the seventh realm of hell and is stronger than God or something.    Lilith is a bunch of crock, and is not true. And no, Satan is the snake. And what the heck? No one gave Eve the fruit. The Serpent TEMPTED her. She took it of her own free will, thus debunking your argument. OT: This bi girl at my work has a crush on me... (I hate her, she's so obnoxious)
  17. Same with me, guys are [developmentally delayed]ed to hang around with. Whenever I do, every 5 seconds, the talk strays into sex and innuendo. Or just dumb jokes. Sure, I have a few guy friends, but mainly girls, they're just more, in my case, intellectual. But hey, what's wrong with having millions of chick's #'s on your phone. :XD:
  18. I was always under the impression that Christianity followed a more communist ideology (not that Christianity came from communism, but that they have similar ideas). Especially with the whole Greed being a sin and all. I used to think that too. But what I discovered, is when Jesus said stuff like give away your money ,or you can;t be saved. He meant donate some, don't hoarde it, and the times he says that, he would usually say it to someone where money meant everythign to them. But no, while the Bible stresses giving to charity and the church, it also stresses reap your rewards. If you work hard, then you should be rewarded and be able to not feel guilty about having those rewards.

This [developmentally delayed] in our math class is trying to make a circuit, with one odd vertex, we try to tell him he can't do it, but he has an IEP, so who woulda guessed. Nothing makes me different per se, I am rank 31 outta 464 in my senior class, I guess that's it. Quite sad actually, all my friendsa re in the top 10. >.<
  20. Judeo Christians values have gotten AMerica to the way it is today. While yes, most of the founding fathers were Deists, or Atheists, the morals, such as Capitalism have come from Judeo Christian values. Republican. If that wasn't obvious before.
  21. Just throwing that out there for you guys trying to prove Yahweh/Jehovah exists. They're your bloody rules, so don't freak out. That means nothing. Every piece was out of context, so how do I know it's valid? Judges 6:34-42 (New International Version) 34 Then the Spirit of the LORD came upon Gideon, and he blew a trumpet, summoning the Abiezrites to follow him. 35 He sent messengers throughout Manasseh, calling them to arms, and also into Asher, Zebulun and Naphtali, so that they too went up to meet them. 36 Gideon said to God, "If you will save Israel by my hand as you have promised- 37 look, I will place a wool fleece on the threshing floor. If there is dew only on the fleece and all the ground is dry, then I will know that you will save Israel by my hand, as you said." 38 And that is what happened. Gideon rose early the next day; he squeezed the fleece and wrung out the dewa bowlful of water. 39 Then Gideon said to God, "Do not be angry with me. Let me make just one more request. Allow me one more test with the fleece. This time make the fleece dry and the ground covered with dew." 40 That night God did so. Only the fleece was dry; all the ground was covered with dew. God let him test it. [hide=Deut.]be careful that you do not forget the LORD, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. 13 Fear the LORD your God, serve him only and take your oaths in his name. 14 Do not follow other gods, the gods of the peoples around you; 15 for the LORD your God, who is among you, is a jealous God and his anger will burn against you, and he will destroy you from the face of the land. 16 Do not test the LORD your God as you did at Massah. 17 Be sure to keep the commands of the LORD your God and the stipulations and decrees he has given you. 18 Do what is right and good in the LORD's sight, so that it may go well with you and you may go in and take over the good land that the LORD promised on oath to your forefathers, 19 thrusting out all your enemies before you, as the LORD said. Now, as you put all the surrounding verses iun you cansee what they meant. God didn't mean don't est him, he means don't nag him. As in, don't see how far you can go, before you can get into trouble. Thats what they were talking about.[/hide] [hide=Matthew]The tempter came to him and said, "If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread." 4Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'[a]" 5Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. 6"If you are the Son of God," he said, "throw yourself down. For it is written: " 'He will command his angels concerning you, and they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.'" 7Jesus answered him, "It is also written: 'Do not put the Lord your God to the test.'[c]" 8Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. 9"All this I will give you," he said, "if you will bow down and worship me." 10Jesus said to him, "Away from me, Satan! For it is written: 'Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.'[d]" 11Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him. Once again, this time, Jesus was talking to Satan. He was saying don't push me.[/hide] You fail to disprove my point.
  22. Oh, well then yea, I agree with you there. I meant more of a beginning of the world thing.
  23. That's not necessarily OCD, you know that right? That's usually known as the 'Monk Syndrome' people watch Monk and assume they have OCD, just like people are hyper, so they assume they have ADD.
  24. It's not an opinion. No knowledge always comes before knowledge. You didn't believe in the existence of a deity when you were born. How do you know?
  25. The logic for asserting anything should go: Premise, proof, conclusion. If there's no proof for the premise then you can dismiss it. You don't have to prove that god doesn't exist because that is the default position. The idea of god came after the default position of no god. That in itself is an opinion. In the Christian form of view, there was the view of God, then the view of no God. God is real is the default position.
