RichieMcD Posted December 2, 2008 Share Posted December 2, 2008 Being an Atheist I wont be religiously celebrating holidays, I'll still attend Christmas so I wont appear rude to my relatives. Christmas to me no longer means the birth of "Our Lord" but instead it's a family gathering where we all sit down, have a 3-4 meal and for once every 6 months or so, were all there together. I prefer that to anything else on Christmas, if I had a choice between presents or a family gathering the 2nd option would win hands down, Christmas isn't supposed to be about Materialism. I'm not the religious type so I don't care about celebrating anything that has to do with Jesus but the opportunity to get closer to loved ones and the sake of having a tradition I've always enjoyed is why I celebrate it.
