The as long as the underlined and bolded part was right I would have no problem with it happening. So you support cutting off internet resources if people are plotting with them? How can you live in a free society with that kind of authoritarian power? Yes, I would fully support it, if it could be done properly. I'm not saying it should be done as I know that it couldn't work, but in a perfect world I would fully support it. I live in a free society which gives me the option to support the police in arresting and stopping those who wish to do harm to others and their property.

I agree with most of what you say. I think you may misunderstand me. I don't mean the police should go in looking to use violence to stop the rioters, but that they should know they can use whatever force is necessary if t comes to a situation where it is needed. There is a balance to be had here between wanting to subdue rioters to bring them to justice and to protect innocent people and property. Force is often more vital when moving a gang of rioters from a property needing protection than if they are simply to be subdued. Speed is of much more importance, meaning the police cannot sit back and wait.

I wouldn't call it immoral to beat/use thorough non-lethal force on these looters. They have been warned, very publicly and know what they are doing is wrong, both morally and in the eyes of the law. When you are constantly doing something in that situation, you forgo the majority of your rights in my eyes. At this stage of the game, I question whether using much stronger non-lethal force would do any harm. I actually think on the whole it would be the best thing to do. It is wholly obvious that mass public opinion is against the looters. Using the necessary force would in my estimate anger nobobody but those still looting.

He has the nerve to compare these riots to the plights in the middle east riots? What an idiot. She should have just told him to bugger off at that point.
  6. Huge contradiction right off the bat there. Again, i'll point out the huge irony of an anonymous group wanting freedom of information. I hope their aim is to get even more bad press, and amass an incredibly huge public disgust and hate at themselves, as this is the best they can hope for. In reality, I doubt they can make a dent. Just by googling, I have learnt facebook boasts 175 million logins per day. With a userbase that large, and servers that handle it, I doubt they have any chance taking it down. Anon may be able to cripple government sites which probably have servers designed to take a few thousand users at a time, Facebook is another game altogether and it's servers by now must be so robust. Anon, and 4chan which seems to harbor Anon, should fear a backlash if they manage to make any impact, as the Facebook userbase will no doubt retaliate, and in much much larger numbers.

And to be honest, If I were currently in a place with riots, I would not blame them at all for doing so. The rioters do need to be taught a lesson and to learn that just because you feel you can do something doesn't mean you should.

The problem at the moment is that mass public opinion actually seems to oppose the riots. If they grow much larger, I could see them reaching a tipping point where riots against the riots start.

That couldn't be further from the truth. The students rioting had at least a reason, I was among the peaceful protesters but the rioting was done for a REASON. That reason maybe couldn't justify violence, but it wasn't a bad one. Rioters now are ONLY RIOTING FOR MONEY, FUN AND CHAOS. They're not students, they're underclass teenage thugs who have no worth in this society whatsoever. I don't want them rehabilitated, I want them arrested and taught the word of the law. And I'm a liberal. I concur.

The solution I said to my Gf last night was to exchange all the rioters with asylum seekers. We get people into the country who actually need to be here and get rid of pure scum. I'm ashamed of some people in this country, and if I personally knew anybody who was involved in this rioting I would physically harm them. I agree with Rainy's post a little back where he says the police need to have more firearms and powers such as water cannons and rubber bullets. This is one of the times that human rights need bending. Rioters who have a purpose deserve human rights, rioters who have no purpose lose a majority of their human rights in my view.

Went to Snetterton racecourse yesterday to watch the British Touring Cars. Incredible day but very sunny and i forgot to take suncream. So I'm not lobstered, but I have pictures! LARGE PICS BY LAW Was on the back of this, the worlds fastest ice cream van: Very cool looking Lambo: On just a normal ticket, you could get up close to the garages where they work on the cars, I could have stood right on the edge of the grass if i'd wanted. Could do this will almost all the cars for all the races. Felt so close to the action. You can't seee in the picture, but to the right of the new bonnet on the floor is one smashed in half during the race beforehand.
  12. When on the right, first is away from you and higher gears are close to you. It looks strange to change gears with your right hand while holding the wheel with your left. I'd rather have the control of the car with my best arm, changing gears with my less-good arm.
  13. If we were to lose even half of those (Especially Canada and Australia) I think we would be at a time when I no longer keep full interest in F1. Already we seem to have nearly as many boring circuits as interesting ones, and the only evidence we have of new tracks is that they will be replaced by ones which have no atmosphere and have nothing more than money thrown at them. I hope that at some point soon, teams have to rebel against Ecclestone due to losing Television viewers, thus losing sponsors and money. I can't see any other thing which would stop his current rampage through F1.
  14. Double posting. I'm not going to do another rant at modern track building because it is probably getting old now, but unfortunately, one of the few good tracks to be built by Herman Tilke recently, the Istanbul International Circuit in Turkey is going to be dropped next year. Instead of dropping the snorefest of Valencia or the Coma producing Bahrain, we lose the interesting track of the bunch. The reasoning is apparently low ticket sales for each visit there, but you cannot really expect immediate draw of crowds in a region which isn't the wealthiest in the world. I think it had just started to feel like an established track, having a very well known corner 'turn 8' and becoming a welcomed part of the calendar. Unfortunately, it will be no more.
  15. So basically, they've done nothing in the year? It went from an unpopular idea from game makers to an unpopular idea from game makers? They over-emphasise the whole thing, making it sound more 'needed' than it is. Polygon counts go up as processing power increases, graphics improve in a nice linear fashion. We can't suddenly jump to this incredible system without the machines to run them. I didnt get through the whole video, but have they got over that gigantic stepping stone which involves actually animating the damn things yet? Last time they could only make static landscapes.
  16. Great race by Button. Annoyingly though, i feel overshadowed by the TV deals. I actually have Sky sports at home, but even I think it's terrible. I enjoy the team behind the BBC coverage almost as much as the races themselves, without them it will lose a lot of what draws me to the races. When I'm at university I will not have access to sky sports so will only have highlights. I'm absolutely horrified by the decision. The only good thing is that with how money-grubbing Ecclestone is, once he sees how disastrously low the viewing figures will be for the Sky races, he will come begging back to the BBC. As he knows, the teams get revenue from sponsors, which want high viewing figures, not direct payments from the TV company.
  17. Right now: Everybody loves the idea of level 85 hybrid armour from minigames Update time: 15 pages of flames when people realise they actually have to play the minigames to attain it Does look like a good month though, but hopefully they won't accidentally ruin the minigames they change by shoehorning things into them which aren't needed like they did with Castle Wars and over-complicate them.

  19. Yeah, I would put a tenner on Alonso winning the season right now as a long shot. The odds would be fantastic and if they continue like this, it could very well happen. Unfortunately, Hungary is next, which is renowned as a track with little passing opportunities. If red bull can put a car on pole again, they may have another win. Luckily, now he has lost confidence, Vettel may not be that red bull.
  20. I was actually quite entertained by that race, probably due to me really liking Alonso and Webber so loving the tension. Very good race by all three, a bit disappointed Webber lost out though. Vettel just cannot pass, he looked a lot faster than Massa but just couldn't overtake. Very unfortunate for Massa that he got overtaken in the pits there, allowing Vettel more world championship points. A side note, very unlucky for Schumacher to spin when he did as he ended up right back in the position he spun, meaning if he hadn't, he may have ended a lot higher. The headline really is that Mclaren and Ferrari may be back. Bring on Hungary next week! Edit: Loved the commentator's comment at the end 'Could we see the top three Dq'd?'
  21. Crossbow. Throwing weapons are good due to only taking up one inventory space but they come in such low amounts it just isn't worth it.
  22. So I tried Multiplayer for the first time today (Spent around 2 weeks just on singleplayer) and didn't just get beaten, I got my backside handed to me on a silver platter. It's just so different playing against other people.
  23. Vettel third, that's what I like to see. Alonso and Webber look very good going into the race, as well as Hamilton. We know Webber can win this race so I am really hoping he can do well.
  24. My thoughts go out to any effected by either the bombing or the shooting. It is a sad day indeed when somebody from within a country targets their fellow citizens.
  25. The arena is probably the best way to make money early on if you are good enough. If playing warband, go to a town with a feast as tournaments re-open multiple times during the feast saving walking time. Warband can be brought quite cheaply now btw, I think I got my copy for £9.99 Currently playing Native expansion, it is so fun, the troop trees are just so much bigger and fleshed out. Also allows you to field larger armies yourself. Having a 240+ army can be fun.
