Mount & Blade: You conquer castles and stuff!
The only problem with graphical mods for me (apart from not having a fast enough laptop to run them) is how confusing things get with so much grass. I'm a cavalry player and zooming past infantry in waist high grass, I end up missing all of them. It does look lush though. It's times like these I wish I had a good powerful computer. Make sue you have good relations with any lord you accept into your kingdom because being fair with feifs can annoyingly make you very unpopular with the Lord who gets the first share, as any that doesn't go to them makes them upset. That's why I like to prioritise companions because they start liking you already.

Lords of War and Money
You say it was inspired by HOMM, but upon reading the site I can see no mention of it at all, giving me a bad feeling. Instead, it looks almost like a plagiarised HOMM V, tweaked for browser based gaming and made 2D. The majority of the characters, the fortress' and the game mechanics are straight rips from HOMM V.

Mount & Blade: You conquer castles and stuff!
Ah i was going to bump this the other day but forgot. I brought Warband last week and I've become utterly addicted to it. I'm loving it over the original for various reasons. Firstly the animations are much smoother and realistic looking. Secondly, the shading is much nicer, cloth and leather actually look like they should. And Thirdly, the world map seems to work better, especially with the new factions. It is just 100% better than the original game. And I haven't even tried multi-player yet!

The Beginning of the End of Murdoch's Empire
Sometimes this are just too much of a coincidence.

TIF is bit over-moderated
Didn't it get censored a while ago when we got the message back from Jagex saying it contained rule-breaking content? Why bring it up now.

The F1 Thread 2012 Season
I would absolutely love to see Kimi back. He has been my favourite driver for a long time. I highly doubt he would return however at the moment and it is probably harder right now to join a top team than ever with so many past Champions in there, even as he is one himself.

The Beginning of the End of Murdoch's Empire
I'm in two views about the NOTW shutting down. On one hand, the paper had a very dodgy past and anything which can crumble part of a media empire which can almost blanket a country from news is good. However, I'm also very disappointed to see those in charge get away with almost no punishment so far, while all of the current NOTW staff who had little or no contact with any illegal actions all lost their jobs. I really feel for these people who have had their livelihoods threatened by some bad eggs. Having NOTW on their CV's will not be the best of things right now. It's also very disturbing and annoying how few people realise just how many papers are owned by Murdoch. Many cry out at NOTW but then go buy The Sun the next day. It was so obvious today at work while putting the newspapers out in my shop just which papers he owned an how they are trying to cover the scandal as little as possible. Papers such as The Guardian and Independent had Murdoch plastered on the front pages while His papers didn't mention it at all on the front.

Such a shame Red bull once again hold Webber back. He needs to leave that team as he will never be allowed to win there. I'm quietly confident Alsonso can once again, just like last year pull back into contention.

Looking for a Laptop as a present
Do you mean places like PC world? I think that is the only thing we have nearby. We do have an Argos too, if they sell decent Laptops.

Clean Windows 7 Install
Well after spending a lot of yesterday transferring my personal files back, Windows 7 is working fine. All I used were the things I posted above. I also went through the device manager letting it automatically Update a few drivers. It is now working perfectly with no visible problems at all.

I forgot to add that I think he would prefer a large screen. Not 100% sure if that is a large requirement, I'll try to ask him that tomorrow.

Looking for a Laptop as a present
Me, my brother and mum have decided to pool our money to buy my dad a new laptop for his Birthday in august. His current laptop is around 6 years old and is starting to go rather slow. I really don't know where to start looking so I'm looking for some suggestions on which to buy or where to look. He rarely uses things other than general internet browsing. Being 50+ he doesn't play games so it doesn't need great specifications. We are looking for something between £200 and £300. We are quite keen on buying a refurbished Laptop too as they are usually much better for the price.

Clean Windows 7 Install
This is what I found to install all essential Toshiba files for the system it is installed on http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/downloadDetail.jsp?soid=2475695&pf=true I'll see how it goes, I'm planning on doing the install now. This also lists some useful/important drivers http://driver-toshiba.blogspot.com/2009/11/toshiba-satellite-l300d-drivers-for.html

Clean Windows 7 Install
After doing some more googling, it seems that the vital programs will be installed along with the Windows 7 install.

Clean Windows 7 Install
I didn't receive any disks with my Laptop at all, which is why I'm worried that the install may remove something critical to the running of my laptop. http://driver-toshiba.blogspot.com/2009/11/toshiba-satellite-l300d-drivers-for.html lists some drivers for my laptop on Windows 7. Would it be best to download and burn them to a disk before installing Windows 7?

Clean Windows 7 Install
I just brought a copy of Windows 7. I'm going to do a clean install of it on my laptop but I'm unsure of what programs to back up and what not to back up. Or would it still keep vital programs even with a clean install? I'm using a Toshiba Satellite L300D Is there anything I should know before doing it? Would doing a normal system recovery suffice, just in case something does go wrong?

Where in the World is Tip.it?
So far I got you beat, my hometown of Granite Falls, WA has a population of 3,364. Does hometown mean town? I live in a village.

Census 2.0
Some people still believe in ridiculous things and it is classed as a religion. It isn't in most of the world. I refuse to see it as a religion. It is a cult, full stop. I actually find it offensive to be recognised next to religions.

Census 2.0
Scientology is not a religion. Why put that, as well as some other religions which is it very likely people people here, on an English speaking forum will not be part of and miss things like agnostic off?

30-Jun-2011 Introducing: Clan Citadels
I agree with Laikrob. For Jagex with such a large audience, it's impossible for them to please everybody, or at least do an update aimed at everybody. Just because one isn't aimed at you doesn't mean they are bad at their job, it is useless or is a waste. Looks like it could be good to me. I love the idea of building a Castle/citadel with a group.

UK Relocation
1. What are a few samples of common dinner assortments in the UK? What type of foods are most often consumed where you live? Everything and anything. British supermarkets generally stock everything you would need to make any dish you fancy, from Italian Dishes, French, Traditional British, American, Asian etc. 2. What is the average cost of a flat/apartment to rent a month/week/day? London will be VERY expensive to live. I'm currently looking for flats in Nottingham and the average 2 bed flats are coming in around £500 to £800 per month. I would expect London to be at least 20% more. 3. What are some things that stereotypical Americans should be aware of (item names, slang, etc) that are different from the United States? [bleep] - Cigarette. Can't think of any others that you wouldn't pick up on very quickly. 4. What are some good television shows? Apart from Mock the Week and QI, the best shows are American anyway. 5. What are the best internet options? Totally depends on preference. I know a lot of people who are with Virgin as they do deals for phone, satellite TV and internet. The same goes for Sky and BT. 6. How expensive is it to travel on a daily basis? Totally depends on distance. If using the underground in London, their website will say. 7. Reccomended sectors of London/surrounding areas to live? 8. How large are flats? I'm not sure about flats, but houses in general are much smaller than in America for the same price, so don't immediately think you are being ripped off if a place is small. 9. Is there Mountain Dew in London? Never seen any in British shops. 10. Any suggestions/comments/input/advice from yourself. The cost of living is generally higher than in America, but the conversion from $ to £ should keep you pretty well off.

International Criminal Court
That first post just reeks of over biased anti-USA, anti-Nato, anti-West thought. It's quite easy to pick a couple of good points about one country/person, bad about another then throw them into one post making somebody sound like an angel. I simply can't trust a single thing you said as fact with so much opinion being thrown around. Please show me the sources. Also, two sentences on the situation in Israel? Very thought out and argumentative there.

Cars 2 - Pixars first flop?
It's not out for another month yet over here - 22nd July. Frankly, Pixar can afford a flop. They've been walking on water for so long, it was only a matter of time. I think with Cars being one of the weaker films (personally I find Ratatouille to be the weakest), a sequel might have been a bit risky. I fully expect for it to be a great film though - but it's not like they're going to be able to top their latest releases of Toy Story 3, Up and Wall-E. No wonder I hadn't heard anything about it.

Cars 2 - Pixars first flop?
I didn't even know it was out. The advertising seems to have been non existent in my area.

The F1 Thread 2012 Season
I agree Blood about Hispania, they just aren't improving and currently do nothing more than get in the way. Although, the same could be said for Minardi back in the day and look at them now as Force India. Horrible horrible race. I would personally fire Hermann Tilke (The guy who designed the track). He has designed all the worst tracks currently on the calendar. He may have designed some good ones including Malaysia, China and Istanbul, but they are by no means the best, being mediocre. But he has also designed the worst by far, being Valencia, Bahrain, Abu Dhabi and Beijing (if it was a day race we would all hate it). His tracks often try to emulate Monaco but fail abysmally, giving a lifeless track which have no entertainment through passing, but also no close racing due to modern restrictions. Monaco could never be built again due to regulations so don't bother emulating it, it ruins the sport for the fans. Annoyingly as well, he has designed the Korean and Indian tracks for later in the year which doesn't fill me with any confidence whatsoever on the track. The guy in my opinion is ruining modern F1. Get him out, stop going to Valencia and Bahrain and we can kick-start f1. Boring race, but fully expected it.
