Eventually, it would be nice to finish it, but now, there is a second grid, one of even more fantastical quality, one which simply says, HYT! The Idea? It came to me while browsing the net, I somehow stumbled upon this: http://moo.liquigel.net/ Immediately I knew we had to do one ourselves. but instead of Moo, HYT. It's that simple. Post a picture of yourself (real life) with a "HYT" sign on this thread, or if you don't want people to know who you are, you can send it to me via PM and I'll make sure nobody ever knows. So got my hopes up with the title. This came up before and basically everybody loved the game. I'd say it is definitely an underrated game which badly needs a sequel.

If it is anything like your current signature it should end up incredibly good. I would enter if I hadn't just got a new signature.

To be honest, apart from a random un-detected asteroid in the next 1-200 years or over-pollution of the planet, there really isn't anything that will cause an apocalypse. In 200 years time, I would be confident our technology would be advanced enough to negate any threat to the planet other than a black hole.

I actually think that looks quite unique. It always seems that people dislike their own buildings while others like them.

You have to edit it on your profile from the menu at the top. Although it may be level specific I'm not sure.

Quyneax has already posted there saying that topic posts were not removed because neither side provided concrete proof that their claim was right. It was just assumed that everyone knew why one side was right. This is an issue we're looking into and (I believe this was suggested in the topic) the moderating team is currently considering the idea of having an organized fact sticky in that forum so that a fact can be stated and then a link to the sticky could be provided for evidence. This is why it's so important to have mods who understand the game moderating the forum. We should not have to waste time proving that a rapier has better DPS than magic on a stab weak dragon- it's common sense. The burden of proof needs to be on the claim that is patently ridiculous. The funny part is that Quyneax KNOWS that the magic idea was crap and still decided to play dumb and require evidence. Mods shouldn't be playing dumb on the metagame forum of all places. As it is now it's help and advice 2.0, and I have 0 motivation to post there. It's a cesspool. Given that we are expected to prove just about everything in Metagaming now, perhaps it would be helpful if there were some sort of "burden of proof" clause in the metagaming rules. This way, it is up to the person with the ridiculous claim to prove it and not up to the person who is advocating standard knowledge. This would clean that forum up a little bit. But yeah, I agree with Green. Metagaming has really deteriorated into another H&A for a number of reasons. Lack of mods and unclear rules are just two of them. This is where the idea of a 'known facts' sort of thread as a sticky has come from, which is currently being discussed. It would just be a repository of the smaller more well known facts that occur to many as common sense.

It's the Birmingham Central Library. It's a fascinating building imo. The building they are replacing it with is costing upwards of £200m to build. The original plan for the original was to have a white marble façade but was cut from the final design. If that had been added, it could look much nicer, and even plans to do so today would cost less than the new building.

Sounds like it could be good for those who do efficient skilling.

Jagex has "Trust Trade" rule? where can I see it? Indeed! I've long been frustrated by the money "doublers", so I went a while back to look at the rules to see what, if anything, I could report them under. I figured if they got a mute or two maybe they'd cut it out. Unfortunately I was unable to find any rules related to trust trades or the like which I could use to report them. Well this is convenient. My current area of research for my undergraduate dissertation is the campaign to save this building: In architecture, there is an unwritten 30 year rule where buildings under that age are often thought of as ugly and eye soars. After that, they begin to be established as unique and much more liekly to survive. That first 30 years is the critical time for a building. The above was opened in 1974. The argument to destroy it started around 2003 and is scheduled to be demolished within the next two years. BUT, if it was saved for another 5,10 or 20 years, would we grow to love it? That is one of the largest points of conflict in the modern heritage movement. I am writing with the perspective that it should have been listed, causing it to be saved. The reason for this is that it is a unique style and great example of the brutalist architectural style. It is a style no longer used, and widely demolished in the current climate. I am not a fan of all brutalist buildings, many are ugly with no style, just plain straight concrete, but the above in my opinion is more than that. I can't say I like one style over another, it all depends on the scale and style of the building.

Ok so this thread is currently ok, as Heated discussions are fine here on the forums. However, just as a precaution, can we make sure that personal insults are not thrown around so this thread can stay open. As fast as this thread is going, I would hate to have to come back and read through 5 pages of flames. Just so people know, we have previously contacted Jagex as clarification for our own rules and the response was that any 'gambling' in Runescape comes under their 'trust trades' rule and is thus frowned upon.

Why not create a third section or guide named the "Expert Guide"? Have this advanced one as the intermediate one. With help from DGS I'm sure an expert one could be drawn up, then a middle ground, for those who don't clan or take it overly serious but still want some good tips can be made in the middle-ground between the basic and that? Or am I totally missing the point here? I'm just trying to help resolve this dispute. One side thinks the guide is not as good as it should be, and I can see their point as it isn't. However, would then it not be good for us to have a guide called the "expert" Dungeoneering guide with the information wanted? Keeping the advanced one as it is, with slightly more advanced information than the basic one. Maybe improved to make it more "intermediate" once the expert one is done to bring it into the middle?

I do agree. I also have the same feeling for sub-forums. I like the look of a healthy-fast main forum than two, sub-healthy looking forums. Although that is a discussion for another topic, I believe most stickies could be done without and simply liked to in the case of duplicate threads by those who haven't used the search function.

Currently when we do a full signature removal, a copy of the signature is given so the person can see the offending part and remove it as they wish. This was done in this case as well. Some mods such as Y_guy were more lenient in the removal, and some (myself included) removed the whole signature according to our SOP (Standard operating procedure) for inappropriate signatures, with a PM explaining why it had been removed a full copy of the original signature for the user. Now while the removals could have been more lenient, it was nothing worse than the majority of the signature removals which have happened on the forums in recent memory. We are all advised now to give some form of copy of the signature in the PM with the explanation for users who don't have a copy of it themselves.

But what would satisfy people in terms of who knows? If nobody has any word from a Jmod, even a message from a lowly person who has asked is better than no information?

Unfortunately it was very inactive before it was unstickied. I do however think some of the other stickies there should be removed/moved. I would personally support moving of hidden updates to another forum (although not sure where) And merging of the update teasers sticky with the discussion thread.

I dont care how you bloody talk to jagex, darkdude has posted that they were in contact with jagex before they began removing signatures. If you're going to make a statement like that, back it up with evidence. NO EVIDENCE OF ANY FORM OF CONTACT WITH JAGEX HAS BEEN PRESENTED. Then don't believe us. We have no reason to deceive you as we are not gaining anything out of it. The opposite, we are losing forum users. However, it is the rules we are going to stick to. You have heard this numerous times and until we can get a more official message is what we are sticking to.

I am going to say this for the umpteenth time, hopefully the last. Posts criticising TIF moderation not in this thread will be removed, no questions asked. There is no exception to this, whether you be Tom [bleep] or Harry. You can rant all you like about this, but you have been told. As per forum rules, which have always been in place, off topic or inflammatory posts are also removed. You may rant all you like, but unless it is through the proper channels, you have no base to argue as you know the rules very clearly by now. That is all I am here to say as we have no more information for you regarding our messages from Jagex since what you were told yesterday. Thanks.

The difference is that the majority of sites will actively try to get rid of gold selling adverts, or they are simply not in enough control of them to get rid of them. As I said, adverts are not directly in control of a site. It isn't realistic for a site to get rid of it's adverts if they can't single out rule breaking ads as they are often the only way they stay afloat. Forum content however can easily be removed by moderators/admins of the site if it breaks rules. Not removing it is seen as support of anything contained within it.

Except that TIF's understanding of Jagex's macro policy is completely incorrect. It doesn't help that they then invent communication with Jagex that can't be produced to create the illusion that they are in any way in touch with reality.
